Currently, I'm trying to use HKMM for mods on ver. 1.5, but the mod loader says that "the game version is outdated" even though I'm pretty sure I'm using the latest version on Steam. So, I wanted to check the game version in the game. But I encountered this Unity Error when trying to open it. I'm not sure if each problem is affecting the other, but any help would be appreciated with fixing these issues.

Can you send a screenshot of hk in your library to verify versions? Depending on wich one you have the name changes a little bit to tell you your patch
If youre still unsure after that you could check steam betas page for hk
And have you used any other installer loke modinstaller/modinstaller 2 before?
no
Only hkmm
Well i am pretty inexperienced with that but of what i do remember is that mostly happens withmods conflicting versions, did you install any mod manually?
You may have installed an outdated mod if so
i haven't downloaded any mods
None at all?
there's a mod folder in the game already, because of me downloading the modinstaller, but there's no mods in it
Ok do you know how to verify game file in steam
yes
although, i've tried that but it says that there weren't any different files to verify
Well thats a new
i mean, theres nothing in the mods folder, so it wouldn't be that different from the original files other than the folder
would it make sense to just redownload the game?
my save would still be there after redownload im pretty sure
oh wait
it might be something conflicting with my other copy of 1.4.3.2
it's the same as the regular version
with a mod folder but no mods
so 1.4.3.2 can load now cuz i put in a steam_appid.txt in that version
An empty mods folder does not mean you have nothing installed. There's still the modding api. It's probably steam or HKMM getting confused on which install is which and adding the wrong api for whatever install it's looking at
so should i just delete the modding api?
No, then your game wouldn't run. Verifying game integrity removes it, if it's somehow looking at your 1.4 install then it might be easiest to just remove both installs and remake them, rather than us walking you through troubleshooting them. Your saves won't be touched by just uninstalling or deleting the game files
so just uninstall both, reinstall 1.5 and hkmm for it, then redownload 1.4.3.2 and download the mod loader for that?
That'd work, yes
Just make sure to clearly label them and make sure to path the right installer to the right install
okay
all fixed !
