__Custom Knight __
š¹ Resources - List of all skins:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qKfOtOXpYormusD05I700P8d79E74R1bTb3MP4vum-E
- Video Tutorial on using CK:

š¹ Troubleshooting
Please post a screenshot that shows: - Where you installed the skin
- With the directory bar visible
- With the skin images themselves visible
Example screenshot:
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/910762350267744276/924905787728470067/CustomKnight_File_Example_1578.png
it extracted the thing i want to download
it does it automatically
OK, I think I misunderstood something here.
Is the actual issue the fact you can't figure out where your winrar is automatically extracting your downloads?
Given that you need to extract the skin files from the file to put into the Custom Knight mod folder anyways, I don't see the issue?
Did you look at the tutorial video?
i did
So what's the issue then with it going automatically to winrar?
But it's not supposed to automatically extract to the custom knight mod folder, you have to move it there yourself from wherever you extract it out of winrar
and how do i do that
oh
The tutorial video shows this at 9:45, in fact.
wait i just added the things from copy and paste to the new folder for custom knight
so they are in the "deafult" folder of scarab
the png's of those stuff
Unless you want your game to always use the skin you downloaded, you don't want them to be there.
oh
As the screenshot above shows, the end result is you should have a folder for the new skin under "Custom Knight/Skins/" which is full of the skin pngs.
Can you post a screenshot similar to the one above?
The fact that "it's not like that" means something is probably wrong.
Where is your custom knight mod installed to?
the custom knight mod is on winrar
i took the png's
i put them in the deafult folder
(copy and paste)
Also, what I wanted was for you to post a screenshot of the folder you copied the pngs into with the full file path visible in file explorer.
You didn't include the address bar above which contains the full file path
Alright, there's a problem there.
If you look at the screenshot in the original bot reply, you'll see that the pngs should be in a different folder under skins, one for each skin.
so like one for unn, one for web, one for orb, one for geo
No, one new folder containing the entire thing
For example, here's how my hive knight is set up (note the circled file structure):
Custom Knight will use whatever folder name you choose as the skin name in-game
That should be it
i have a folder named something
i put the png's there
and now if i re- exit the game
it will be there
It should as a skin named "something"
Tutorial video shows how to load skins in-game at 12:05
i know
If you want help, then please:
- make sure that you've watched the tutorial, and followed along with it
- when you post screenshots, post them exactly like the example shows

Also, WinRAR doesn't automatically unzip things. It lets you view archive files (although for .zips Windows does too), and there are buttons to extract them. (Although again, using WinRAR for a .zip is kinda silly; Windows can extract zips on it's own)
yeah the mod doesn't exist
and the mod doesn't work
like i can't pick a custom knight
You're not being very descriptive, and not providing screenshots to show what you're talking about.
If you want help, you need to actually provide meaningful information so that people can help you
okay so
let me explain
it starts out with me downloading the cutsom knight mod, after adding hive knight for my skin
anyways, after getting a new folder and putting all the png's in it, i downloaded the custom knight mod
after opening it on the "mods" menu it doesn't appear.
Here is the screenshot.
Now the thing is that I have custom knight enabled (I re-exited the game 3 times already)
Can you post your modlog?
ModLog.txt can be found in the same folder as your save files:
Windows: %APPDATA%\..\LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight\
MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/unity.Team Cherry.Hollow Knight/
Linux: ~/.config/unity3d/Team Cherry/Hollow Knight/
......................................................
To easily get ModLog on Windows:
- Press
ā+R - Copy and paste this into it
%appdata%\..\LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knightand hit "OK" ModLog.txtis in this folder.
Note: ā is the Windows button, in between Ctrl and Alt on your keyboard
Also, for what it's worth, you should be using Screenshots for images, not taking pics

How to Take Screenshots
Taking and posting Screenshots makes troubleshooting a lot simpler, and is far more legible than taking a picture of your monitor. For more detailed instructions and options, see https://www.take-a-screenshot.org/

Hmm hopefully modlog will shed more light then as Dwarf said
- you haven't provided a modlog
- you aren't providing screenshots
Nobody can help you until you actually provide helpful information

That is not what was requested

Look at the pic in the tag. Look at your pic. Notice they are not the same
cause there's no goddamn icon
like this is what i have
what do i do with the 5 other things
do i delete them
that's my only goddamn question
Skins are inside the skins folder.
No don't delete mod files unless you want the mod to break
okay
Take a screenshot that matches the example
No
i make a special folder just so i put it there.
yes
You can follow along step by step the custom knight section.
Yes
Most skins already come in a folder once you extract them
Please do not ping users with the do not ping role!
Ok, well put the files in a folder and post a screenshot of it that matches the one above
Looks good
enemy randomizer will look so good with this skin
that's true for many skins
(it doesn't work)
so like
i have the skin enabled
the mod is installed
but the skin doesn't apply, it's just the effects
?tag ckfaq
Common CK issues/fixes
- Verify that the skin was installed correctly.
- Restart your game.
- Ensure that you're enabling it from the Pause Menu, not the Main Menu.
- If it doesn't apply, then you may need to reset your Global Settings for it. You can either manually do this by deleting the
customknight.globalsettingsfiles from your saves directors (type?tag savesin chat if you don't know where that is), or by using an automatic script from?tag reset.
yes
1-yes
2-i did alot of times
3- i am doing it from pause menu
4- i do not know how
4- Luckily, there's instructions
"(type ?tag saves in chat if you don't know where that is), or by using an automatic script from ?tag reset" what
which one here
Those are discord commands.
You type the one you want to use into chat, then press Enter
?tag saves
Important paths
Note: These assume you're using Steam, with default locations. For GoG, locate your hollow_knight.exe folder, and then follow from there. The Save Files location is the same for all versions.
Windows:
Save Files: %APPDATA%\..\LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight\
Game Files: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hollow Knight\

||Please double check that you followed correctly. The Unix versions of the game have multiple folders with the same/similar names, and it's easy to go to the wrong folder||
Linux:

anyways which one
None of them. The instructions don't mention that at all
That certainly looks like it. You'd want that and the file below it with a similar name
this?
I'm confident in your ability to read. You don't need to re-ask for confirmation every step of the way-- you can just re-read the instructions
