when i install a mod, the game doesn't launch, i play with xbox game so i done all the step :
install scarab
put files on desktop
run scarab and path it to HK data
i manage to open scarab and install mods
now when i open the game nothing happens
I remove scarab files from download, close the installer before starting the game I don't understand.
What is not right ?

Are you running scarab as admin as well as the other steps?

How to use Scarab in Microsoft Store
🔹 First enter the Xbox app and move your mouse over Hollow Knight on the left bar.
🔹 Click the three points then click "Manage".
🔹 Go to the "Files" tab and select "Browse...".
🔹 Click Hollow Knight then Content, click the path bar and copy it.
🔸Run Scarab as admin and when it asks you for the path paste what copied before.

Alternate Method:
🔹 Click on your profile then "Settings"
🔹 Go to "General" tab and select "CHANGE FOLDER"
🔹 Look for a folder where you want to install the game (Preferably inside a folder in your desktop).
🔸 Copy the path bar, then run Scarab as Administrator and when it asks you for the path, paste what copied before.

Scarab path folder needs to have Hollow Knight_Data folder inside Image Showing an example of the game path: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/879130708302520321/961419530662477884/unknown.png

by the way there are two different HK on game pass one from 2018 and one from 2019 is one better than the other. I am on the 2019 but each time i start the game i get a notification saying that their is a newer version and it takes me to install the 2018 versio

I tried and when i launched it I got stuck on the menu screen, i unistall and trying again

and this is without scarab are anything else enable

You need to be on the version that says 1.5.80 on the main menu (it might be listed as 5.80 in the store page)
