#Driver Command Presets by Sector

Though not a very frequent complaint, I've seen a few people being up that micromanaging their drivers pace, fuel and ers is frustrating when they should be able to leave the drivers alone and expect them to perform in a somewhat sensible manner.

To remedy this (and just to request a new quality of life feature) I propose a feature in which you can set which pace, fuel and ers setting you want to use in any given sector on the track.

For example: Below is a sector map of the Red Bull Ring in Austria. If this feature were in the game, I may set my driver to conserve tires and harvest ers in sector 1 since overtaking here is mostly pointless due to the existence of the next drs zone. Because sector 2 provides a much more lucrative overtaking opportunity, I may set my driver to deploy ers and push the tires here to prioritize an overtake.

This is only one of many useful applications this feature could have, and though I doubt we'll see this in an F1 Manager game, I can only hope Frontier considers it or takes the same idea in a different direction than I did.

This is a good idea

#

But if we were gonna have command presets, I wouldn't do it by sector

#

You could split it into low speed mid speed high speed and straight areas, the game does that already

#

Or you could do it by how many cars are a certain distance away

That’s what the driver is supposed to do, along with the engineer. That’s not the team boss call whatsoever. I think they should just improve the AI, so that a perfect driver/engineer pair balance it perfectly, and not perfect ones do it proportionally to their stats.
