Reports are that they have agreed a partnership with Ferrari to take Carlos Sainz and use the ever powerful Ferrari engine. NEWS: As we touch down here in Spain for the Grand Prix, talk of the paddock is that Peter Bayer and Laurent Mekkies have been working in the background to rebrand AlphaTauri and move away from the junior team and become a technical partner of Red Bull with their own identity.

After fighting Aston Martin and Mercedes this season, AlphaTauri have emerged into the top points scorers so this rebrand seems fitting.

Reports are it will all be announced and finalised before Monza, the teams 2nd home race after Imola.

BREAKING: Much like McLaren in Bahrain RB announced their 2026 plans before the Miami Grand Prix.

These plans revolve around Andretti who have seen their moment to enter by buying a 51% ownership stake of the RB Team.

With Red Bull and RB using the Ford powertrain from 2026, Andretti saw their moment to enter with an American engine.

However, in the press conference today, Andretti said that they still plan to use Cadillac Powertrains when they enter the sport, as a manufacturer, in 2028.

In a press conference ahead of the British GP, top Mercedes-Benz bosses gathered to announce that they would be selling their 33% stake in the Brawn Mercedes team at the end of this season.

This is due to poor performances since the 2022 regulation changes and into the new engine and chasis regulations that came into effect this season.

The buyer of this stake? Lotus.

The 2027 season opener will be Lotus' first race back in F1 since the 1994 Australian Grand Prix.

The team will rebrand to Lotus Mercedes and with rumours that Mercedes are trying to sell their engine branch too, who knows what the future holds for Lotus.

TEAM ROSTER UPDATE FOR THE 2027 SEASON:

With the new season of Formula 1 quickly approaching it's time to reflect on the complete roster of drivers that we'llsee on track next year.

The list below comes after all retirements and team changes, so it's a completely accurate reflection of what F1 will ook like in 2027.

The team signing that everyone is talking about is Carlos Sainz, who officially joins Red Bull next season after a 4 year long career with Pramac Racing.

This is the start of a 1 year contract for $21,085,000 per year.

Starting at the bottom of last years Constructors Championship, Haas Toyota.

They retain their 2026 lineup in Kevin Magnussen and Frederik Vesti.

#

Moving onto Andretti RB Ford who have a completely new lineup in the shape of 7 time World Champion Lewis Hamilton and rookie Jack Doohan

#

Up next, Renault VW they retain Esteban Ocon, who beat his teammate by 15 points last season, and Ocon is joined by 4 time World Champion Max Verstappen.

#

And now the new team, Lotus Mercedes. They keep Sergio Pérez and manage to acquire Pierre Gasly.

#

Ducati Audi VW keep Zhou Guanyu and Ayumu Iwasa joins to make a fully Asian lineup.

#

Toyota GR Willams gain full factory support and have a lineup of the past in the shape of a returning Valtteri Bottas who partners Lance Stroll.

Now for the legendary powerhouse that is Ferrari, they keep Théo Pourchaire and bring Lando Norris back to the grid after his year long hiatus to gauage where the teams lie into the new regulations

Aston Martin Honda and Yuki Tsunoda were definitely a standout last season with the Japanese driver getting his maiden podium and win, this season he will be partnered by Alexander Albon as he moves up the grid

#

Red Bull Ford and Carlos Sainz will finally work together in 2027 after the Spaniard left the family in 2017 to move to Renault, Sainz will be next to Dennis Hauger, a rookie of 2025 who has quickly made a name for himself

#

Pramac Racing were even closer to both titles last season but just came up short again, with George Russell and Oscar Piastri, the team is Heavily Tipped to be the favourite for 2027.
