HB has been signed on as the new team principal in the return of Spyker F1
"Im extremely happy to be leading this new 11th team on the grid"
When asked about the driver situation he commented
"Ofcourse as a Dutch team we like to have Dutch drivers, Verschoor was immediately interested in the project, i can also confirm we tried to sign Nyck de Vries but he has turned the offer down, we currently still look to sign a second driver"
Reportedly multiple drivers including former F1 driver Stoffel van Doorne has shown interest in the second driver seat at Spyker F1, Cordeel reportedly has contacted the team personally but isnt the current favourite for the position
Only hours after the announcement of Spyker F1 their return a affiliate driver has been signed, that being Laurens van Hoepen, the Dutch F3 driver
It is being reported that Alpine/Renault want to sign on Spyker as a engine customer, having no other customer team on the grid, it is being reported that Renault want to pay Spyker to use their engines for the first season and then a normal deal for seasons afterwards, with their being an exit clause in place if the renault engine doesnt perform
It is speculated that within the Spyker team the deal is seen as tempting but they rather partner up with former engine partners Ferrari
New reports have emerged that Frederik Vesti could be set for a reserve role at Spyker F1, it being reported that the Danish driver is unhappy at sharing the reserve duties with Mick Schumacher as he feels he wont get a chance to prove himself at Mercedes
Further reports of potential F2/F3 linking up with Spyker as affiliates are also reported, including the likes of the Estonian Paul Aron and Japanese Ritomo Miyata both from F2 and a lot of names from F3
It is reported that team principal HB wants atleast 1 full time reserve and one more affiliate next to the already signed Lauren van Hoepen

BREAKING
Stoffel van Doorne will sign to be Spyker F1 their second driver
Team principal HB has given his reaction
"Im glad that we can announce a driver of Van Doorne his caliber"
Asked if Cordeel was genuinely in the running for a seat he reacted
"Some smaller sponsors from the team wanted us to sign him, i dont know why they would want that, yes he brings some backing but he has shown on a consistent level in F2 that he doesnt even belong on that grid, so i think you can understand that i think he is nowhere and will never be close to the level F1 deserves!"
Reportedly Spyker could look to sign staff from multiple teams, reportedly they will atleast look to sign engineers from a unnamed team, speculations that team being Aston Martin as Van Doorne could be looking to work with atleast one of their engineers again

Ritomo Miyata signs on as Affiliate/F2 driver for Spyker F1

Reports say team principal HB of Spyker still looks to potentially sign Paul Aron as an affiliate driver, Aron is hesitate about signing as its reports he thinks with a young driver like Verschoor in the car the chances of a move into F1 might be slim.
With other reports saying the team have been personally contacted by Juan pablo Montoya about a potential affiliate role with the team for his son Sebastian Montoya
