If Zhou is ready to lead the team, go for a young talent (Bearman). If you think Zhou should be the 2nd driver, go for a higher rated experienced driver as your 1st driver. Money shouldn't concern you if you're going for someone who'll lead the team (Gasly, Norris)

End of last season, I hired Alain Permane as our new Sporting Director

After Miami, I looked at the other staff

And there’s so many free agents

Simone Resta was a free agent so I hired him on the spot as Technical Chief for next to nothing

I signed Jarrod Murphy as head of aero for next season

And both Hugh Bird and Marcus Dudley are free agents

So I’m scouting both of them and whoever I like the look of more

I’ll sign to replace Zhou’s engineer

So I either start on softs or mediums I push (full attack on tyres, push with fuel, ers deployed) like I do at the start of every race but he always jumps me on the exit on T1 and then creates a gap

So I have five contenders for the second seat next season

Vesti - Last season he wasn’t really near Zhou so I started this season a bit skeptic on his abilities but he’s been on incredible form with two podiums and six top 5’s. He’s proving to be a great second driver, however the big thing about his is he cannot maintain tyres the way the rest of the grid can, he looses pace too quickly as a result

Oliver Bearman, my reserve, he is better than Vesti in a range of skills however his overtaking is very very low. He seems very quick though

Yuki Tsuonda- since I started at Alpha Tauri and we had a developed car, Tsuonda has been our number 1 rival. Him and Zhou always seem to be neck and neck so I feel like if I get him, I’d have two drivers at the top of their game consistently fighting each other at the front. Big downside is with two heavy hitters then higher chance of crashes. He is currently at Alpine with his contract running out end of season

Oscar Piastri, also at Alpine with contract expiring end of season. If Yuki is Alpine’s Zhou then Oscar is their Vesti. He’s quick, he’s consistent but never on Yuki’s level. He has had some standout races but he’s a second driver through and through, from what i can see, he’s the only driver besides from Vesti who has trouble keeping tyres in a good shape. He is better than Fred and I would love to develop the Australian into a champion. I feel like he’ll be a good second driver for a couple seasons then sour to championship level

This one I didn’t even think about until I saw his contact expiring end of season. Esteban Ocon, the driver who nearly beat us in Monaco- He has been incredible at McLaren, with a dominant streak last season of four wins in a row, I feel like with his experience and skills we wouldn’t even need to worry about both drivers underperforming. However, same with Yuki, we’d have two heavy hitters again and that’s cause for concern

So with Zhou adamant on leaving the team (Which I actually find very stupid and rude, seeing as before I hired him he was scoring like 6 points a season and now he’s winning races and is dominating the standings) I’ll have to look for a new leader

I don’t think Vesti is at leader level yet, hell I haven’t even decided if I’m keeping him

So for Zhou’s seat, I need someone higher than Vesti so my three candidates are Yuki, Oscar and Ocon as all of their contracts are out end of year but if the same thing happens where I can’t sign them on Dec 31st
