Every track they just have so much speed, what tyre warmers do they have

Cold tires are not a problem in this game

Stage end, pit under yellow

#

They so much faster

#

I lose so much time

dim night
#

On the first two laps of a restart or after that?

Glenn is like 2-3

Richmond is like 5-8

#

Depends on the length

There are known issues with the AI being unrealistically fast to fire off for restarts and getting off of pit lane. Neither of these are related to tire temperature.

Your car is the fastest it will be on your first laps after pitting or after a restart because you can push the tires and not worry about overheating them, which causes a loss of grip. This is why I said cold tires are not an issue, because if you drive the car hard, it’s actually faster to start the lap with tire temperatures below 100° than it is to start the lap with tire temperatures in the normal working window.

I have no speed with cold tyres while the ai seem to have no issue, that's what Im confused on

I only change Wedge really

Also do you know what lap times you do at Watkins Glen when you’re not suffering from tire temperature issues?

worldly bane
#

Its worse at short tracks

Richmond Im about 2 seconds slower but then again, I get shoved to the top line

I know YouTuber Gowen has seen this as well, Being stupidly slow on restarts and for a few laps in the same scenario as me

Your issue is certainly a tire pressure issue in part. Running minimum pressures on road courses and short ovals is the fastest way around the track. Perhaps increase the pressure of a tire by 1-2 clicks if you notice you’re overheating it.

The other issue is how the AI makes up lap times at lower skill values. When you drop the AI to a level where it does 1:17’s-1:19’s at Watkins Glen, it loses time on the straights because it doesn’t go full throttle. So if you do a lap at that pace where you are full throttle on the straights, you’ll lose time to the AI in the corners.

I can fight them really well

#

I have 8 wins out of 9 races in arca

dim night
#

Thought you said you’re 2s off their pace?

worldly bane
#

Its not the ai

worldly bane
#

They are stupid fast for the first few laps

dim night
#

So it’s a setup problem. Drop your tire pressures

worldly bane
dim night
#

Dropping pressures heats the tires faster

#

sidewalls flex more in the corner which generates more heat

worldly bane
#

I will keep this in mind for races
