Description: When opening the game on steam. Controller input is briefly recognized in the intro video but then the game just refuses to recognize input from any controller. I can't open the steam overlay in-game which makes me believe there is a fundamental bug in how the game recognizes controller inputs

Platform: PC

Game Version / Build #: Nov 10 2025 - 18:31:28

Frequency: Everytime

Media if applicable: (Screenshot / Video / Link)

Additional Notes: The game acts like its tabbed out (evident by a mouse cursor appearing on the main menu) and I've been unable to get past the main menu. Many people in the steam discussion section are reporting the same issue.

My controller also didn’t work until I turned on DS4

#

But that might be it, not sure PlayStation controllers are supported natively on PC. Might need to use an Xbox controller emulator

I did some troubleshooting. I think it might be a problem with borderless windowed. I changed my graphics settings to full screen and restarted my computer and mysteriously my controller started working again

but if you have a ps4 controller, yeah that pretty much needs ds4 all the time

#

they did NOT like PCs initially

Another update: It seems the input is half broken. It broke as soon as I got to race weekend

After some more troubleshooting. I've gotten the game to control and input fine. But as SOON as I enter a race weekend, It's like my controller shut off. Nothing works at all. It seems to do it in the menus too

From what we have seen, the game briefly recognizes input on startup but stops responding once in menus or on track. DualSense also fails during load. This is a known issue we are looking into. @dry fractal @gleaming parcel @sly hazel

I've so far narrowed down the issue on my end to ONLY xbox one controllers. Wired dualsense and a wireless xbox series controller work fine. But this seems to just be in my case cause others are reporting xbox one controllers work fine. I tried three of my xbox one remotes and they did the exact symptom of recognizing input in the menus but then failing during race loading. Really weird how the input issues vary from system to system but imo, I think its something to do with the code being designed around series x/s and PS5 force feedback triggers.
