I think if it's already causing you this much trouble, maybe you should drop it because it's gonna affect your grade later on.
Trust me, I took a language subject in year 9 and 10, and I couldn't change it so I had to suffer throughout the whole two years through each exam because the teacher was so terrible, similar situation to yours, there weren't enough classes, and the teacher barely knew the language, and they just sort of expected us to learn and remember everything.
So, I'd personally suggest you to drop the class/or change it up to your preferences since STEM subjects are already pretty time taking to study at home.

Is it necessary for you to take another class? ..and well, if it really is that important, then you should weigh your options depending on the teachers(a good teacher can change a LOT), the amount of resources and how understandable and approachable they are, and obviously, your ease.

when you write your cover letter, templates usually don't do you well. When you write a CV you want to write it in a way that boasts your skills rather than explain or discriminate yourself. They know what university you went to prior to reading this, they may not know what you've done at said university (projects, leadership, civic engagement, etc...). The CV is sort of like massaging you're way into a position, in contrast to the resume which should demonstrate technical skill for the position. You want to frame yourself (listing all of your skills and experiences) why you would be a good candidate for the position. For example, as a sophomore electrical engineer, i found a position for a hardware developer, it list the skills that the ideal candidate should know FPGA design. I can use my project experience building a robot or my experience building a calculator (in processor design and digital logic respectively) to frame myself as an ideal candidate towards that specific skill, that may not be clear or apparent on my resume.

So my AP Physics 1 teacher is a bit of an opp. Basically, she teaches, but she barely scratches the surface of units while giving us practice problems, she gives us practice on topics she never introduced in class, and the tests r on another level of difficulty. Now that wouldn’t be a problem if I could go to office hours. Which I can. But office hours is just making physics honors society kids tutor the kids who need help. She barely does any tutoring in these sessions herself. Now I’m not trying to come off as ignorant or annoying, I just need to know if it’s still possible to pass the test and what I can do abt this teacher. It’s way too late to switch out and she’s the only AP Physics 1 teacher.

had a similar professor in CS, now in the end i did appreciate the challenge that he gave, but while tackiling 5 other classes, it wasn't ideal. I passed that class with a B, the labs where challenging (took me on average 3 days to do) and one of the projects took about a 2 weeks to do. The reason i'm pointing that out is it is feasible to pass a hard class, and that even if office hours is honor student tutoring, take advantage of it, give them the practice problems handed to you and learn from their techniques on how to solve it. Better yet, during the class ask the same practice problem the teacher gave you and let him/her solve it.

in the end, would it be feasible to pass, yes. Do you have to pay attention to the class, also yes. There's a level of obsession you need to maintain for these kinds of class that go very out of scope of the course. Generally speaking physics is notoriously hard from the multi-step process for solving for a value, and if that is what you're describing, that is normal for a physics curriculum. There is so much subtlety in physics that "most" professors go through example problems during lecture and that act of doing those problems are transferred into solving the practice problems. My logic still applies, any help where you learn the techniques through example will be directly applicable to the practice problems you do.

I'm not so sure on laptops (I usually just tell people to buy thinkpads), but you don't need to worry about which operating system it comes with, installing Linux (specially Kubuntu) is really easy and you can do it for free

If you manage to install an ISO on an USB beforehand, maybe from another computer or whatever, you don't even need it to come with an operating system

idk if u have a Calc AB + BC system but if they’re combined into smth like ABC, I’d say lowk just go w pre Calc, bc doubling down w combined Calc ABC might not be a good choice depending on how ur school does it (the coursework is rlly rushed at my school and they have to cram all the topics so it’s tricky to get by). i believe the Precalculus course on UCScout does all of this! I took it over the summer, and the website makes the course pretty easy to follow in terms of pacing. I was able to transfer the credits to my official high school transcript in order to skip the class and accelerate on my math pathway!

i’m in it rn! The class is honestly pretty easy, and if u can write on ur toes or even just like writing in general, u might even have fun w it. We did argument essays and journaled on analyzing some short pieces of literature (like 2 pages of text and a few questions afterward). Right now, the big semester project is a cause and effect research paper, which im liking bc we got to choose our own topics on ANYTHING as long as there were sources online to back it up. We’re also getting into a synthesis paper and we’re practicing AP Lang Exam MCQs. That’s what the class has been in my experience and what u might be able to expect, and since I’ve been writing since i was little and love the way literature and prose work, it’s an enjoyable class for me. Since u got a 95 in 10th, i think ur gonna be just fine academically. Hope that helps somewhat!

My schedule for next year will probably look like: ap physics 1, apush II (my school splits up apush if u start it in sophomore year), ap lang, 3 periods of business (i go to a vocational school), and then 2 periods for gym/health and lunch. Calc AB was prob the hardest math class I’ve taken, and it was very helpful for me to have had a good teacher explain the concepts to me in a class setting and in person (and this is coming from someone who took both Integrated III and Pre-Calc online, so I feel pretty strong abt my math even if I thought they were both easier than Calc AB). My school doesn’t have a normal Calc, so I wouldn’t know what to say abt urs in terms of how difficult it would be to do both AP Calc AB and normal in the same year. Calc BC senior year will prob be alr, given u had a good understanding of the AB topics (since B is the same across both classes, fall semester for me was just review, since im taking Calc BC this year). That’s my experience, but if u feel exceptionally well-versed in math, go for it. Otherwise, I’d resort to either calc AB or normal calc, not both, just so u don’t stress urself out too much in the long run

Motivation and discipline are key in any self-led study arrangements.
Things tend to become easier when you create a good work environment and make gradual adjustments for studying to become easier (access - having stuff in plain sight, effort - smaller steps, fun - rewards, competition etc.) and procrastination (or whatever the reason for your lack of motivation is) harder (access - hiding distractions, effort - having to go through additional hoops etc.). I know these are pretty general but you know yourself best so hopefully you can figure something out.
As for expectations - it can be very demotivating to feel like you're behind (either because you set the bar too high or because you actually did do poorly).
Keep in mind that progress isn't always linear. It's great if you see even that 1% improvement every day but sometimes you need to lose 5% to then gain 15%.
Or this could be an opportunity to change this around and get better at self-studying - look into what you're doing well & needs improvement by keeping a log of distractions, study routines, study times, common mistakes etc. for say a week

I’m having difficulty staying focused during class time (since we’re in a 4 hour google meet daily Monday - Thursday) like looking at my phone, reading random books, or really anything to eliminate the boredom. But in doing this I am missing instruction or just not knowing and then panic studying the day before a test or exam. The lack of motivation I think often comes from literally not wanting to do a specific assignment because it’s boring or tedious or not interesting.

And during asynchronous work time I often just spend too much of that time taking it easy and working for a bit and then doomscrolling for a while and working and so forth.

You're defo not the only one struggling with these.
But the bitter reality is that (especially in online school) which the great power of being in charge of your study process comes the great responsibility of staying on course.
So - every time you reach for your phone you're gonna think and say why. If you can't think of a reason - put it back down.
Also block stuff for the 4 hour meetings & (after a break) like an hour of work after with your system settings/Cold Turkey/whatever other app.
Same goes for reading.
It will be difficult at first but if you push through the first few days you'll start getting better at it

As for motivation and taking things too easy - gamification. You are now completing a quest with clear steps and objectives (use https://goblin.tools/ToDo if you need help breaking tasks down), you are doing so to gain experience and you can reward yourself with some scrolling after the quest is completed (and you can also use other game mechanics like time limits, achievement log etc.)

Yea, it's a quick way to create friction in your habit loop of using your phone when you're not supposed to which will hopefully make it easier to replace scrolling with watching the lecture

The longer and more reliable way would be to figure out why you feel the need to avoid schoolwork and then adress it accordingly

But that's something a lot of us would need some help irl to do

i do! Since the right hand includes a lot of rapid fingering changes along the same keys (also the black keys, which are sometimes harder to hit with accuracy), i would practice it slowly and with a metronome to get comfortable w any given tempo. If you can play the right hand evenly, adding the left hand is easier because every note/octave/chord is on an intuitively countable beat (even eighth notes in a time signature that measures quarter notes instead of triplets, like the right hand). After this, id focus on maintaining the dynamics for the right hand instead of simply playing it thru and making sure the melody is clearly heard on top of the chords in the left hand. Since i believe tempo always comes after accuracy, Id say that once ur comfortable practicing all of this, I’d speed up the tempo by increments of either three of five, depending on how fast u learn, until the piece is at the metronome tempo that it should be played at! Good luck, since the black keys etude is a toughie

i mean it depends what you'll be doing with it. For example, i take advantage of high thread and memory count because i'm constantly compiling and running verilog/ embedded C code. I would personally still hold off of ARM until there is more kernel/driver support for the architecture. I mean, i've run dozens of instances of simulations, that take on upwards a few minutes. Meanwhile the people with macs have to use university virtual machines which has like 2 threads and 1 gb of ram. It is painfully slow, like it takes on upwards 15 - 30 minutes to compile. In the most ideal scenario (with less code to compile) still takes 3 minutes. In the end, in a general use case (if you're just browsing) i would also say go with neo, but at that point i'd also just say to get a chromebook.

• How a college is different from highschool and university? (In terms of academics, freedom, environment, courses and anything else you might wanna add)

Well college and universities are used interchangeably all around the world so it depends on where you're from. Usually highschool is where teachers keep track of you more, most subjects are wide ranged and studied mandatorily. College usually means where you go to get your undergrad degree. It is usually more faster paced, more self study and professors expect you to complete project deadlines on your own. There's more freedom of choosing clubs, classes etc though. University is more of the larger institute. For example a university may have a College of Engineering, Arts etc
SAT is for US undergrad admissions. Since you're doing jee it doesn't matter for colleges in India. Essays depend on the specific exam, it's common more in USA. Major is what your main subject of study would be, while minor would be a secondary subject you pursue along with it
For getting the help of seniors I would suggest you start with asking them something small and then buuilding your way from there. What I did was ask one of my teachers to list some of the good seniors so I didn't have to worry much about it, it's up to you though
What skills you develop depends on you. If you're talking career-wise, it would be better to acquire something that would complement your major. If you're saying hobby-wise, choose the one you love from the bottom of your heart, and stick with it. It'll pay off overtime

Honestly if you just search up volunteer work you should be able to find some places. You could also check any local zoos and see if they have anything, as well as care facilities such as nursing homes. Also, some places such as animal shelters won’t necessarily have volunteer work listed, but you can call and ask. There are likely some environmental groups in your area that host clean ups which could work as well.

I’ve heard that AARP is a good way to find things to do but I haven’t used it myself. It could be worth it to just ask your teachers since they usually know some options

||The simple physical countdown timer||. Believe me, this is the most useful time management tool I’ve ever used (and the cheapest).
You can also use more physical time tracking systems. For example, the bullet journal. I just write down my tasks, my thoughts, and make a small chart of my time usage using 10min chunks (draw this first). If you have a really hard time focusing on things you can start with 3-5min chunks. I color code the chunks into the following categories (for reference): work, studies and casual.
Having something to actually real to refer on helps a lot with me when I’m tempted to grab my phone. Cut my access screen usage by 2 hours after having one.

Phsyically: Read books, do writing/journaling, play jigsaw puzzles, talk to a friend, color coloring books, sleep, learn something new, make crafts, doodle, play with toys, listen to podcasts/audio books, jog around, cook something, crochet, play board games, lay in the bed daydreaming, volunteer for something, learn some new money making skills, collect random things from nature, come up with new words, photograph something with a camera, do religious stuff, play card games, start a scrap book etc.
The list goes on and on if you stop to think about it.

idk, flashcards always worked for me in geography class. when it comes to climates, what worked for me was to do some light research on real world examples of the climates we had to learn about and learn about how it affects their respective enviornments, not only biologically, but socioeconomically.

Attend virtually or in person? Either way, in high school you're taught to write down what the teacher is writing, I found out the hard way in college that, that is not at all the case.. you really need to be focused on what they're saying more than what they're writing. Bullet points will be your best friend, online notes have helped me but I'm also a more visual person so I can insert images quickly and stuff rather than having to depict it on paper.

In regards to studying, really just manage your time wisely. It all depends on what type of learner you are, study with what helps you most.. no real difference that I have experienced from HS to college when it comes to studying.. Just definitely way more if it volume wise.

Hey everyone! I'm currently developing a dystopian comic and I'm looking for someone who might be interested in helping me write the dialogue for my short story.
 
Here's a quick summary of the concept:
 
The comic is set in a totalitarian society where everyone is required by law to wear a mask at all times. The style, material, and decoration of your mask communicate your class and worth. Peasants wear plain featureless masks, prisoners wear orange ones, and the upper class wear gold or diamond masks. Removing your mask is the most dangerous and illegal act you can commit.
 
The story follows a prisoner called 013, who has been arrested for creating and distributing revolutionary pro-face propaganda posters around the city, essentially encouraging people to remember their own faces, question the system, and take their masks off. The opening scene takes place in a corrupt courtroom where 013 is dragged in by two prison guards and forced to stand trial before three judges named Justitia, Themis, and Dike.
 
During the trial, 013 delivers a speech arguing that the mask system was never about equality, it was designed to dehumanise the poor, enforce an immovable class hierarchy, and allow the wealthy to exploit the lower class while hiding their cruelty behind gold-plated masks. The scene ends with 013 removing the mask mid-speech, being tackled by guards, and the final image showing 013's fist rising from the pile of bodies with a Circle-A tattooed on the wrist.

Diminished intervals are perfect/ major intervals that go down one half step. EX: Perfect 5th C to G, then you have to go one half step down to get G flat = C to G flat
Augmented intervals are intervals that go up one half step. EX: Perfect 5th C to G , then you have to go one half step up to get G sharp = C to G sharp. I don't know if that also works with ones that go above octaves since I've never learned that.

O oki then is expert in this! A4 so you have enough space to write in. Hardcover so the book is sturdy and can withstand the many harsh condetitions of living at school. If it gets dirty you can just wipe it off with an achool wipe. Inner pocket (the plastic or self made paper ones) to store some handouts/quizzes/paper documents. Binder (a more personal one) so you can take out and rearrange them easily. Oh and it makes ripping of badly written/uselesspages easier.
