oh ok! Thanks!!
tips for abm(accounting and business management?)
What topics do you do in 9th grade biology
cell structure and function, cell transport and energy, cell division, genetics, and dna
Thx
Is the entirety of AP Physics C a two year course? Or could it be two semesters?
It can be two semesters. My school teaches it as mechanics first semester and e&m second semester.
I'm planning on taking it as a fall extracurricular program my senior year
So you're gonna take the whole class in fall?
What’s the best honors class to take as a freshman
what choices do you have
probably a honors math or science course like h algebra 2 or h biology but it really depends on what your school offers
honors English or a honors stem class
what are some good textbooks to self study honors biology?
why not go on edx
edx have great courses
then campbells is pretty good
i prefer videos tho
it just sinks in better with visuals
yeah normally id go to khan acadmey but it seems like it's a work in progress
If you know someone who took the class before try to use the slides the teacher generally probides
I have no idea what textbook they use for honors bio cause my school doesn’t offer it.
good idea
my ap bio teacher had like 100’s of slides for every unit
it’s a common thing among bio teachers
whatever is on the slide topic look it up and you’ll very likely find a youtube video that is more in depth then the slides
ok ty
np
Anyone know if Colleges look at if you were in ASB or Science Olympiad like participation?
they will look at what you provide
hm. how is this relevant
Well my school booklet said 2 credit
So i guessing two classes
Low key thinking to just do ap physic2
Marketing bw horny teens
That's some God level strategy homie
I'm taking AP Physics 1 next year
There are extracurricular programs approved by colleges that are essentially AP classes, and count as such
My school doest offer many ap classes, what should I do?
sqrt(30) + 2(sqrt(10)) + 2(sqrt(5))
i believe that’s all that can be done, correct me if i’m wrong
anyone in college preparing for a level?
5 i think
nah prob 11
@fierce kernel 4/2 is the answer
sure
nah a bit more i think
@fierce kernel it is what it is , so just leave it
Next Doubt please
k
Can I take AP computer science as a freshman?
depends on the school you go to
if your school doesnt offer it
you can always self study
Thank you!
np
what is self study?
you learn it yourself
ask a nearby school that does offer the course
alright
is AP lang really that horrible?
yes.
youre welcome
don’t worry, i’ve heard lit is much worse
lel
it really isn’t too bad, i managed to take ap lang freshman year and it was mostly just essays. if you’re good at reading or writing you should be fine
thanks!
i’ve heard just the opposite 😭 but i guess it depends on the school
Can anyone give me advice on this, so I was looking into a levels (idk if that exists in America) and my schools law curriculum looks really trashy but my parents want me to stay in that school for the mandarin a levels(ngl there also kinda overrated and easy looking) so should I stay in my school to do law and mandarin or look average but get better law grades?
Sorry that was so long
Hello
I would want to be a lawyer in media or criminal law and on the school website there's more on the exam than content
That sounds nice are u practicing
No I'm in secondary school (middle school)
Oh same I wanna be a k-pop idol maybe try practiencing for like an 1hour everday
Going to grade 10 what courses should i take to become a surgeon?
stem
hello
hi
Label them to groups
See the prequisite
Group them by math, sci, english n social studies
As theyre the more important one
Depending of major you want ofc
So ap classes can strengthen you
Hey, does anyone know where I could take an online precalc class before school starts, and transferable to high school transcript
Transferablility is obviously subject to the school but one that at least says it could
Cc
My district partner up with a cc
So that could be good
Check your local ones
箄腡腡我骽烤肉視黁㶭我
I think calc and physics
i have to check
YES!
I just found a thing for my school district for the AP exams for self study
only 11 of them but not too bad
Mhh
Which ap are self study
If is ap physic 1 i would go for it
Since isnt very calc related
Ap calc is a must to do
Ap you could self sudy ap comp sci principle or even comp sci A if you keep learning it
Ap bio
ap calc and physics are not self study
yes i will in gr12
Well idk which ap u could self study
So im just guessing
But for sure bio has to be there
Self studying ap bio is very straight foward if u like sci
Hell naww better ask your school for a ap waive
Well you could self study comp sci principle, bio and macro
If you want
But you gotta ask other campus ap teach for test review for test structure
If you wanna self study
yep
i hate self study no offense
only option 😦
thats not good
yep
never knew those existed
Wow yall counselor are shit
Students should do their own research
And btw if youre qualified for a ap waive you also are for college admission waive
So if you apply for a college the apply cost is free
But you gotta send them email so talk to counselor ofc
?
Why do you say that?
Yeah I'll look into that
Bc counselor should alert students abt those stuff
Especially lower income people
Haven't talked to my counselor about this yet
I'm sure my dad will be happy to pay the fee
Not really lower income
💀
Thats why is a wall for lower income wanting to take ap
Yes
Or any college credit class
That was why I said it was alot
lol
Prob AP world is one of them
Hi
ap stats or ap gov
Im going to be a freshman this year but I have no ap classes. My brother had around 4 ap classes somehow and I'm kind of frustrated
I'm stuck with this bum honors classes and I need ap so I can get good things (I don't know how ap works)
what do I do help
Trust me dude, AP classes as a Freshman would ruin your entire High school experience
That combined with coming into a different schooling environment would be extremely mentally taxing
Take the honors this year, then hit those APs next
most importantly do not feel pressured to live up to your brother
will harvard care if i dont take them freshman 🥺
actually do they even care about ap at all?
AP is still good, but colleges shouldn't care how many AP courses you took your freshman year
what would matter is your diverse portfolio and performance in those classes
and trust me, you will do better in them if you take a year
hi
thanks man that really helped
np
Wait I actually do need to post my schedule I need someone to look at it and tell me if I'll be fine 👍
I'm serious about harvard and I think I'm stressed about it 😭
I got rid of honors geography since I don't really need it freshman
wait how do you take ap's as a freshman
Some schools offer freshman APs
However you could also self study AP courses
At any grade
you wouldn't get an high school credit from self studying tho
also what material should i study to self study biology
Incorrect
You don’t get AP Credit from taking the course
You get AP Credit from taking and passing the AP Exam
@carmine lily Also I could link you to some resources for AP Bio
ohhh wait that makes so much sense
i'd really appreciate that
I’ve done my fair share of research since I’m self studying AP CSP and AP CS:A rn
You just gotta ask and do your research
I did ap human geo in freshman
Thought everybody knew this
But do ask some ap teach for tutoring
Like the ap exam structure or old test
^^^
Im prob gonna self study ap com sci principe im alr in a comp sci class
So wouldnt be that hard considering is a principal and i could ask my comp sci teacher for help
If you ever wanted help with AP Bio i did really well when i took it so lmk if you would need anything
i'd really appreciate that
this year im self studying 3 ap courses but its a complete self study so no outside class or anything; however i heard that when you self study it only gives you credit but doesnt have any effect on ur weighted gpa. is weighted gpa really that important compared to unweighted gpa?
Yeah of course feel free to ask any questions or if you needed resources i could help
Ok question
So taking social studies freshmen isn't considered a social studies credit, so is ap geo considered a social studies credit?
Also what's the benefits of self studying ap classes
wouldn't that be a lot of work I'm actually losing my mind
and what credit does ap count towards
idk about other ppl but i self study classes that my school doesnt offer but im interested in those courses
ok
i THINK (correct me if im wrong) that ap classes count for college credit
like if u pass you dont need to take that course in college
OH FR?
yeah man
thats why so many ppl take dual enrollment and all those so they can get ahead
wait but how will the school know you self study is there like a test or something to let them know?
i self studied a course this year and my school just offered that test at school (like not the course but the ap test)
but idrk how colleges see it sry D:
what is dual enrollment
i don’t believe you get high school from self studying something
You get college credit from self studying
As long as you meet the colleges AP Exam score requirements
yeah ik that
the other person said that you wouldn’t get high school credit from doing that though
Ohhhh high school credit
Yeah
do you guys have any feedback for my 4 year plan?
already finished freshman year so can't adjust that one
heres updated version
Yeah
And then AP CS:A is AP Computer Science A
More widely recognised and accepted for credit
Well you can take the AP Test for any subject regardless if you took the actual class
@little pagoda
Oh you can?
Like I’m taking AP CS:As exam next year despite the fact I’m not actually going to take the course
Because I’ve already self studied it
Yeah
Im so scared of physic c e&m
Is phys c super hard
1.it should bee counted as a social studie credit no matter what grade
2.Ap geo is in the social studie group
3.idk abt benefits like doing it your own speed of studying
4.ap classes are hard ofc but ap human geo will be semi hard
For me ofc
Physics C is still a pretty hard class and they can't just let anyone take it
his school has it better
Lastly ap credit will count as a high school n college credit
If you take ap human geo but youre self studying
yea
shoot i got rid of it
for us we take physics 1 freshman year
it's optional for freshman i don't know why
so I just take honors physics freshman year and then take Physics C later
Im doing 4yrs of the basic
Math,sci,english n social studies
I agree physic 1 shouldnt be a prq
Physic is alg based
Honor physic is scrapping by
Physic c in general is calc based
MANN OKAY
So
Physic c e&m aka two credits
My school is weird
Senior thou
!@!
Mech
My school is weird
E&m is 2 credit long
No mech
Just e&m
Which as i said 2 credit long
Let me see my school bookley
But i can also do physic 2 ap in jr
Idk if im ready to commit physic c 2 credit long
Mhhhh
Yeahh
But 2credits
I did talk to my counselor for sumemr cc classes to finished my 4yrs sci and math
Rgn im doing pre calc in summer
So jr year ima do ap calc so i finished my 4yr of math
So extra classes
So i think senior year would be better
Mhm so i gotta finished my sci now
Idk which sci class for next year summer
Looking for some easy ones as i alr did ap bio, chem, physic
Aka 3
So ap physic 2 would be now 4yrs of sci
Is just very confusing man
But im gonna do physic c i need to do it
What classes do you guys reccomend should be taken in the summer
Also do you guys reccomend taking psych?
Depends do you like the subject overall
Hi y'all
are there any good one you could recommend?
Hebrew?
Neat
I'm stuck between Personal Finance and Entrepreneurship. Which would you guys recommend is more important? Personal Finance seems very important so then I can learn to do useful stuff like pay taxes and bills, insurance plans, and other stuff. Entrepreneurship also seems important if only because I really want to go into business after High School. In Entrepreneurship we learn useful things about that like market analysis, financial reports, and other stuff that seems useful for what I want to be.
Do you have the opportunity to take both before you graduate?
No unfortunately not. Well not with the plan I have in mind anyhow
okay, thank you! I might be able to take both but if I can only choose one then I should figure out which would be more beneficial
hello! I recently received a message from my counselor to send my schedule in terms of dual enrollment courses for the fall semester. I am currently definite on taking AP world, AP seminar, AP psychology, precalculus, orchestra and symphony. what I need advice on is to whether use the last period as a study hall to take 2 extra duel enrollment OR to take AP English composition. the main reason why im stuck on this decision is because colleges recommend at least 3 years of English so im not sure on how important it is for me to continue with English even if im done with my English credits for graduation.
im also currently looking to apply to top university/ivy league engineering programs
Question, how free are you outside of school
I get home at 5:30 and don't do anything usually
I mean, if you're as committed as you say you are you may have to hold your nose and take it anyway
Oh if that's the case chill a little bit
Like good lord that is one heck of a schedule
but like, how important is it to follow the recommendations for classes they want you to take
I took ap bio and ap human in my freshmen year
You still have 2 more years to take those English classes
does it necessarily have to be consecutive?
am I allowed to take a gap year in English
if I can I would love to do that but I don't want to hurt my chances
bc ive been wondering if the years you take certain subjects need to consecutive or if the order doesn't matter as long as you take the class
May have to ask someone more experienced in the area, but I've never seen in mentioned anywhere they look directly at what year you took classes
ah ok
Certain classes have prerequisites that guarantee consecutive
what do you think about the recommendations that the top universities provide on classes you should take though
how much should I abide to them
before it starts lowering my chance
As closely as possible but keep in mind that universities would rather have a human being than an academic robot
yea
That's why college essays are so much about you, and not a list of your classes
if I don't take AP eng lang next year then I can take it in my junior year then ap lit in my senior year
so they will hopefully just see one gap year in English
thx for the advice though
Np mate
If u want to go into Business then I would say Entrepreneurship. It will teach you the stuff you will really have to know to work Business full time and will help you a lot compared to Personal Finance which seems like something you could probably learn yourself anyways.
what are some good undergrad business/finance related programs and colleges?
Something that is future-oriented. It might be controversial, but i dont think conservative degrees, like accounting, economics, or finance, alone can be beneficial. At least not as much as if you were to pair them up with fintech or cs.
Ur school offers a personal finance major? Lmao
thanks!
So to do this question, we need 2 sticks
Put them next to each other
And because i am asian, i can redefine math
Yeah
Stack the two sticks on top of each other
The way i do it, it makes the number 7
Yeah
So 1 + 1 = 7
Your welcome
I have a test today
You're*
Hopefully i have helped
And this is worth 90 percent of the grade just that question so just had to check
Don't worry
If you fail
I am asian remember
I can change your grade by redefining math
4yrs of english is better suited anyways
Thats why im doing 4yrs of the basic
well im basically done with all my English credits since I took extra courses in 8th grade and in 9th so I don't really see any purpose in taking English honors if it's not going to help me
that's why I was contemplating whether I should take ap eng comp this year or next year and then take ap lit the year after
how do i write a formal letter to my teachers explaining that i forgot my lesson because it was my first and i apologise
I would take AP English composition because at least at my school, we are required to take 4 actual years of English and our local schools, the UCs, also mandate 4 years. Taking AP over dual enrollment will likely fit better in your schedule, rather than taking dual enrollment outside of school, which would likely take up valuable time, which could be used for extracurriculars or homework. I would continue your English throughout the rest of high school, just to keep it constant and to have a good balance of humanities and stem. Good luck with whatever you decide!
Use formal language and explain your reasoning behind why you forgot, such as you were doing something else that was important, etc.
Should I take AP psychology online during the school year? I’m not sure if it’s worth the time, especially with my current schedule and extracurriculars (I do basketball for 12 hrs a week during the winters and early spring, Girl Scouts - working on my gold award, I run a few clubs, and I have an internship once a week for 4 hrs). This is my current finalized schedule - we don’t have AP psychology at my school.
AP Calc combined
AP chem
AP bio
Apush
Journalism
English 11
Tbh you're better off self studying AP psych, its not terribly difficult from what my friends have said. Your schedule is kind of insane to be honest, but its up to you.
I also want to get the GPA boost through AP Psych (not the reason why I’m taking it), which is why I would take an online class
Help I don't know if I should take art over business or no
does anyone else's school have integrated math classes instead of the regular algebra, geometry, & trig classes?
my school is weird with math classes
for some reason they have most seniors do trigonometry/precalc when it used to be more of a junior thing
so i have to do trig/precalc over the summer just so i can get into ap calc
here are my past and planned classes
i wish i had more honors in sophomore but 9th grade being online for the whole year screwed me over
also id do AP CS A but my school does not have it
unfortunately
Take it online
i probably will
Can sports count as PE credits or do you have to do PE?
I did but it doesn't say anything about that.🥲 I was wondering because another high schooler from a different school said that it can
Theres team sports
Dancing too
In hs idk theres even a class called pe
There are pe credit thou
Just look at pe credit group
i think the rest of your classes are fine, they’re the same things i took. just be careful, taking precalculus over the summer is not easy
There is, we have three different pe's: PE, Personal Fitness, and Sports Development
ah alright
They should be count as pe@fair dagger
If you play sports like baseball, basketball etc
It will count
I'll have to contact my counselor because I think it depends on the school
I am taking 2, 4 week semester classes concurrently at my community college both starting in July. Does anyone have advice on how I should balance them out with my PE Summer School class for my High School?
Does anyone know where to take online dual enrollment; I'm hopping to take Multivariate Calc/Linear Algebra next year and Real/Complex Analysis next. Keep in mind I live out of the states
@everyone
Note: PE is four and a half hours a day. The classes are online and asynchronous. I am mainly asking for advice on time blocking my day efficiently with adequate breaks.
Local community college
Usually they offer a program for High School Enrichment or Concurrent enrollment.
I'm not in the states so that's why it has to be online; I don't have the option available to me
Usually US Schools don't offer dual enrollment opportunities to out of state students more or less out of country. For free that is.
Anyone have tips for ap span culture😭
These are my classes for sophomore year:
Honors Spanish 3
Honors English 10
Honors U.S. History 1
Honors Chamber Singers
Geometry CP
Chemistry CP
Music Theory 1 CP
Anything I should add or take away?
Hey im in Honors Chamber Singers as well lol
at my school
lol that's why I'm asking if anyone knows any
@everyone
If you don't mind me asking, what country are you in?
I'm taking
AP US History
AP Calc AB
AP Spanish 4(culture)
AP Lang
AP Capstone seminar
AP bio
art
any tips for getting through my junior year?
Yes those are the ones I’m doing, CP stands for college prep
Nice!!
Oh damn lemme pull out my schedule and tell the classes I got
These classes will be pretty easy in my opinion. I remember Geometry being hard but I took it in 8th grade so I don't really remember that well.
Guatemala
Basic Public Speaking 1/2 year)
AP government (1/2 year)
Advanced chemistry
AP environmental science
Law and Justice (1/2 year)
Conditioning Principles (1/2 year)
ENG 101 Writing I and ENG 102 Writing II each for half a year (if I do got on my AP Lang exam from this year I can replace the first one with like Psychology)
Spanish 2
AP statistics
Okkk
These are my Classes. Spanish-1 is at my Community College.
Concert Band will become Honors Advanced Band for the fall and Symphonic Band (hopefully depending on scheduling) in the spring.
Chemistry Honors might switch to Physics depending on scheduling.
oo ive never heard of a basic public speaking class... do you do debates or speech events in the class?
Sounds fun. Well balanced.
Idk yet tbh, I'm waiting to see
that’s a lot of ap’s. it’s useless information but ig try not to procrastinate?
Just note that AP Gov doesn't give good credits for college
Oh yeah dont worry I know
yeah im excited to cry myself to sleep
I'm taking it cuz ima go into getting a history major and just want more social studies classes
I am majoring in Political Science and I am taking AP Gov but not the test. My school just doesn't accept college credit as high school credit.
😂
its common for kids in my school to take 6-7 aps in their junior year
idk if its because my school is extremely competitive
oh damn, kids at your school are monsters
My school doesn't have enough class periods 💀
wait... anyeong!
oof
Funnily enough the class I'm most worried about is the advanced chemistry
im korean american
yeah wtf
My school is too small for that
same
for me what helped was staying on top of my notes
At my high school math for like the average kid goes
Algebra 1- Geometry- Algebra 2- Precalcus
you should watch "organic chemistry tutor" on youtube

I will remember that!
and also NEVER forget stoichiometry (its always going to come back)
stoichiometry is pretty easy so i wouldnt worry too much
I suffered most during the chemistry part of Biology last school year so I'm worried
chemistry isnt as hard as it sounds
the stuff about water?
More like the all the chemical formulas to make certain molecules and shit like glucose and all that
agreed chemistry wasn’t hard as long as you stayed on top of your work and made sure to understand concepts. idk about ap chemistry tho
yeah no ap chem is tough
oh damn, now im scared
oh are you takingit
yea junior year
oh.. good luck
the class is harder than the test btw
AP environmental science will probably have chemistry though
My counselor wouldn't let me take AP Biology even though I've taken Biology Honors so I took the biology class at my community college to spite him.
The kicker is he would let me take AP Chemistry.
He was like "I can put you in AP Chemistry this year and you can take AP Biology next year.
uhh, did you plan to take them both during the same year?
No.
I want to take AP Physics C my Junior year with AP Calc BC (both have to me taken together)
not AP Chem
so only one science this upcoming year
I heard its easy
I am so worried about AP stats though cuz I have to do it through an online thing cuz the class wasn't big enough to have a teacher for it
from what i've heard it is mostly math (calculations with statistics)
yea it’s not bad, i took it freshman year actually
And no one from my school has passed the ap stats exam yet

Is AP environmental the easiest science AP class?
Also what math do you need to know in AP environmental
ap stats is easy as well (according to many people)
how to use a calculator
AP Physics 1 I think.
no....
It’s algebra based
Apes is by far easier than physics
No college physics courses are that simple lol
Yeah but it'll be online
AP Physics 1 doesn’t give college credit most places bc of that
And idk if I can do it online considering how bad my freshman year was
my friend took it as a free class so im sure you will be okay
ap physics has a low 5 rate
if you are good at english you’ll do fine
okay lol
well golly I sure hope I am
remember this for stats... "Causation is not the same as correlation" (this might be flipped)
my school doesn’t even consider it an Honors class and it’s AP
At my school they don’t like any freshman take AP classes and then sophomore year you get only two AP class option choices which is AP music theory and AP computer science principles
The AP classes mainly start junior year at my school
same
Yea
I am allowed to take APs bc i’m GATE and it pissed people off
Hell they didn’t let my brother take Honors English cause he wasn’t gate
gate? gifted and talented education?
Yeah
My freshman year was weird they allowed me and some others to take AP world history
Because of online school I got a D as my grade but got a 4 on the test cuz its my expertise

i loved ap world
i got a high enough score on the state test i didn’t have to take the IQ test so i prob have the lowest IQ 💀
the notes weren't fun but it was interesting
I plan on taking Ap Euro
💀
do you think AP Euro will be better or worse?
That teacher for my AP world actually ended up using me as an example as a student with low grades but a high test result to her future students
I wanna take Euro so bad but my school is too small so it doesn't offer it 😡
not sure but my friends who took it didn't struggle too much
it has less content so better i think
My AP Euro teacher died a few months ago so idk if we’ll be having it
More in-depth content
My AP gov teacher is leaving my school so hopefully a replacement comes in
Yeah
I'm out of social studies classes to take after this year 😡 🤬
my counselor signed me up for the wrong class this summer and i almost got the wrong credits and was fucked over
dual enrollment?
concurrent enrollment?
(What does that mean)
were they fired?
nope-
💀
My basic public speaking class and my Englishes are at a college nearby I think
I have to do my own counseling so i help people now since i’ve done so much research
But my town is small so no really close big colleges

my counselor is the gis for summer school lol
yeah
go to your colleges website and look for high school enrichment or concurrent enrollment opportunities
usually tuition is free but you have to provide transportation and materials
aka take online courses and get free pdfs
my psyc prof gives us the pdf for free
Honestly yeah online courses wouldn't be a terrible idea I may do that my senior year
Very true
As I wanna go all the way to getting a PhD after obtaining a masters so like ima need all the money saving I can get
which college
it’s hard to get scholarships too
I feel like that would expose my location
i’m in music classes trying to get something for my music proficiency and i’m writing essays for them right now to start stacking
oh oops it wasnt my intention to expose it lol
but i’m white so it’s really hard even tho my dads salary is 30k
It's just a technical college kinda nearby
I'm white
oh the misery
yeah
my state supposedly offers financial aid but i looked at it and even tho i’m a minority in my county, i don’t qualify for enough money.
At least I'm LGBTQ+ I get to be a minority in one department
nope

I’m genderfluid and was bullied for that as well@as my skin color. No buts.
The people that tied me up to the tetherball pole and beat me while the teachers turned a blind eye get better opportunity then me.
Holy fucking shit-
Where the hell do you live cuz that's actually wack that happened to you
California
i moved from Florida and people weren’t used to a white kid…
i was like the only one in my elementary school
...southern california?
I’d prefer not to say but take your best guess if you want.
Hmm...
But yeah the bullying stopped in 5th grade when i had my growth spurt
and i could fight
It had to be SoCal if they weren't used to a white kid
🤷♂️
If it's Jefferson or something ima cry in pity
lmao
Living in Northern California might be as bad as living in Arkansas or something like that
Yeah…
When i came out as genderfluid i lost all of my friends 💀 besides my girlfriend and my best friend
Yikes-...
yeah
I live in fuckin Kentucky I'm surprised nothing bad has happened to me for coming out as bisexual and all that
Well yeah.
Especially being in a small town of like 3000
yeah like
LA and SF get all the attention, so California seems like they’d be more accepting than Kentucky
Anywhere else, even SD, they are not excepting
i was hated more when i lived in west virginia but that was when i was still straight lmfao
so they’re beating WV
lnfao
Oh my God imagine living in West Virginia 💀
i don’t want too 💀💀
There are very few states I'd hate to live in more than West Virginia
not only cuz the hostility towards people like me, but also lack of opportunity and terrible geographical situation damaging jts economy
*oh&
oh
Lmao
idk what that is
Me neither
the level?
i was lookin at your about me and so apps and i was like ooo that’s fun
Well yeah but i was referring to the button which did that 💀
How did you do it I wanna try
Idk then lmao
Yep
i lost my airpods case today at pe
idk where
i only have my right airpod
note: i’m poor so they’re chinese knock offs
lmao
I accidentally left my airpods in my pockets after a run and put them in the washing machine
i did that before
I only realized they were in there when I heard a loud bang every time the drier spun
theyyll be fine
what
the charging wont work
the case
oh
If you want advice on scheduling, 4 year plan, or 8 year plan feel free to dm me or ping me and I can help you to the best of my ability. I have spent hours researching for my own plan and wish to share that knowledge with people. My counselor hasn't been any help in any of this so I had to be come my own.
Aye im picking my subjects for year 9 australia and im a bit overwhealmed with what there is and theres some subjects. i kinda want to take, i enjoy them and theres some classes that i want to take because i beleive it would flow well into the career path that i am going for but i can only pick up to a certain amount of subjects so i carnt have everyone i wanted so would i just get rid of majority of them that im only doing for enjoyment or do i go 50/50 with the ones for my carer and enjoyment.
note: these subjects arnt just like the ones that are like the easiest ones, these are genuine subjects i enjoy.
Yes go 50/50 that’s what I did
Take what you enjoy and stuff just make sure you meet the graduation requirements.
Can you help me out
Sure :) what do you need help with
We'll i have a lot of subject and i don't have so much time to study everything i don't know how should I manage time i even have a lot of syallabus i am kinda confused...
Hm that depends on what kind of person you are
Would you excel in a time blocked schedule? or Would you excel with a todo list for short bursts of energy?
Try to get a basic conceptual understanding of your courses, a lot of AP or college courses are repeats of basic stuff from lower level classes (E.G. Elementary school, middle school)
I think blocked schedule
I even have a lot of class per day
Familiarize yourself with Google Calendar or a similar program that will help you block your time better.
Ok thx
My school has a mandatory 6 and I take 8 per day
If you're too worried about your work load, take a look at the content over the summer.
I have 10 or 11 class
I am doing that in summer vacations i got a lot oh hw
India
Hw is just so annoying and useless it even doesn't belong to my course
What i am studying
Thx
odd
Usually homework aids mastery of a subject.
hm
Mm
I can relate the pain
so glad
Doing de classes while having several jobs and many out of school things like volunterring
yep
I swear i grown 3 white hairs during that clads
Oh-
BRO THE ONLY REASON IM BEHIND AT MATH
lmao
They said I was able to be in the pogram but i gotta pay so hell no
But i heard other students didnt gotta pay?!?!
I could have done geometry in 8th grade and could have done ap calc in hs
Thank god im a first gen latino student
Hopefully i can atleast win some scholarship
Hi
In my high school, there are two senior advanced English classes you can take: AP Lang and English 101/103. English 101/103 is a dual credit class. Which class do you think is harder and which do you recommend?
Ap Lang and English is harder
But dual credit could be tricky@undone grove
So you need to know which colleges you wanna go wether is in state or out of state and check their dual policy
hii guys what r ur thoughts on AP bio and AP Lang??
on a scale of 1-10, how difficult do u think each class is?
Apbio 7- gotta learn the fundamentals and vocabulary
Ap lang is 5- it really depends on the person bc of it being a english credit class
oooo thank you sm 😌 do u have any tips for either of these classes?
For bio flashcards yeah u can do a study group but stem kids are greedy and want competition so
I always translate taylor swift songs to a bio unit so it can stick in my brain
Ap lang- read books bc being a class full of essays you do need to know the structure but thats what the teacher are for
ahh i see, thank you sm i rlly appreciate it
Can u help me also?
Yes I can.
do any of you guys recommend AVID
i don’t, i know many former members who don’t.
Does anyone know where to take online dual enrollment; I'm hopping to take Multivariate Calc/Linear Algebra next year and Real/Complex Analysis next. Keep in mind I live out of the states
@everyone
Note: @everyone won’t work.
I will do some research and get back to you
thankssss lifesaver
https://www.ouc.education/international-dualenrollment/
check out here, i’m not sure about pricing.
“Both international and undocumented students can enroll in dual enrollment courses, but they may be required to pay non-resident fees. College boards may be able to waive these fees for special admit part-time students who meet certain requirements. Contact your local college to discuss your status and to discuss a possible fee waiver.”
Yeah. Damn y'all Americans have it so easy you can take AP or community courses whenever you freaking want to
oof
Yeah
I'm looking at options like the one you gave @wise forge but they're all either for starting college early or doing high-school-level courses in community college.
I'm gonna melt
that’s the point of dual enrollment essentially
im trying to take college-level courses during HS
not enroll in college early
or do hs courses in a community college
That’s what dual enrollment is
like you enroll in the college during high school
to take courses
at the college level
You can always transfer the courses to a college of your choice.
maybe I'm not explaining myself well. What I meant by enroll in college early is take a degree
Why do you want to take college classes?
because I finished the hs-math courses at my school
and i need to do math for like 2 more years
so it's either take a higher class
or repeat classes like 5 times
Well these classes don’t really give you the dual credit for india
and I will literally go insane if someone tries to explain quadratics to me for the 12th time
I don’t even get dual credit for my high school
Yall if youre thinking to drop out of school do it‼️
Maybe dont
Classes that give dual credit usually have an atriculation agreement
👌
oof sadly not an option
Why?
School isnt for everyone
I suggest going to cc college or trade school😁
welp im not american, as I said, so those options aren't any good sadly
Those are great options for people. But I am guessing most people in this server are seeking higher education and academic endeavors.
Oh no I want all of them to drop out
Or not apply for univ
welp
Yeah I don't think you'll be able to find anything in the US that'll do it. Especially since it seems you need it for a graduation requirement.
Is there a website that accurately converts Australia’s grades to US’s grades?
On a high level, this is how Australian grades compare to US. Grade Description U.S. Grade Equivalent High Distinction A+ Distinction A Credit B Pass C Conceded, Conditional or Compensatory Pass D Failure F Source: World Education Services Based on this, the most common grade conversion being currently followed to convert Australia grades on a …
would this work?
Can someone also get it for indian grade?
helloooo
Should I take AP Gov or dual credit gov??
Ap gov, it is probably more rigorous but college like to see you challenging yourself, in addition, colleges tend to prefer AP classes so taking AP gov is a better option.
has anyone taken AP World history modern? I need to know what to expect next year
I have, took it freshman year. Tbh, it wasn’t that hard, it’s one of the easier AP history classes. The stuff that you’ll learn are commonly known. Just make sure to read the textbook and watch heimler’s history as there are some confusing parts
@cinder gorge Thank you!
I don't get dual credit but I took american gov at my CC to get better credit than AP gov bc AP Gov typically doesn't give good credit
i think both are equally rigorous, dc gov is just hard to transfer to other university
but idk about the ap gov exam. Is is easy since we have to take it at the end of the year but the class itself is only fist semester
is university 101 really worth it? im required to take it bc of the program i got into 🙄
Hm
it’s a course u take in college freshman year to teach u how to basically manage college, academics, finance, basic stuff, etc.
As a freshman I’m gonna take seminar English, adv biology, Integrated math 2, Spanish 5-6, and computer graphic design… all advanced classes 🥶. Rest In Peace free time
oh that's a lot 🥶
Do u know any youth organizations where i can join?
Does your school have NJHS?
Are you an early college student?
I’m a straight A student, except I don’t have a 4.0? Let me explain: Like I’m so confused, I had all as for my final grades and only two bs from a virtual class and from a science class back in the first semester. Somehow I have a 3.6 gpa? I love in Florida idk if that changes anything. I’m very grateful for my grades but can I really say I’m a straight A student, and will I ever get into a good college without a higher one :((
gpa is not everything
as long as you maintain a high gpa you probably fine
no, i just graduated high school and start college in the fall. im in a capstone scholar program that requires us to take univ101
Oh. Then I’m guessing it’s a prerequisite course
not rlly it doesn’t count towards anything it’s like a high school 101 class but for college
Ok thank you 🙏🏾
Hey guys! Two things, starting tenth grade, and I am planning on taking AP chem and APUSH 1 (everything up to industrial revolution) And I was wondering how the class go? Expecially ap chem, im willing to put in the hard work and hours but what are some tips? ty
imo only take advanced if ur A good at it or B enjoy it preferably both but one or the other so if u like chem or ur good at chem than yeah if ur not either but u think u could do good then yeah always best to try it
but i still in hs so my opinion isn’t experienced
ap chem is rly hard but its also an introductory level course
so he could take it as an intro to chemistry
That’s a nice way to put it. You don’t really need to know chemistry to take ap chem it’s just advised you do bc it’s difficult
What is ap human geography like? I'm taking it in high school.
Generally speaking, ap human geography is definitely one of the easier ap’s. The class was a breeze but the test is quite challenging so study a lot.
is AP Stats hard?
Relative to the other AP maths it's less rigorous. My school doesn't consider it an "honors" math class so you would not be eligible to be on the Varsity Math team if you only took it. Compared to your algebra 1 or geometry courses? yeah its hard.
Thanks 👍
For me it was hard until I understood and it was EXTREMELY easy. I swore I got 100% on the AP exam and I’m not kidding. I guarantee that I got close to perfect score on the multiple choice section and a really good score on the Frq section
the aps i currently have scheduled r ap lit, apush, ap chem, and ap stats. but i’m not sure about ap lit. should i switch it and do ap bio instead (i want to still have 4 aps even if i drop ap lit)? for reference, i’m planning on either majoring in journalism, psychology, or chemistry/biochemistry in college (prob applying to different schools based on what they offered out of those 3). and if i should take ap bio, would 2 science aps be too difficult?
You have a varsity math team?! I’m a little jealous
Same I’m jealous too
if i take an AP class online, and report that I took it to my school district, and they count the credit, can it count towards that years gpa?
idk abt ur school but at mine they only put on the transcript as a pass or fail so i don't think it counts in ur gpa
Didn't have ap stats but all I have to say is stat isn't hard , it's more of the annoying side
It depends on your school and if they accept credit from that place. For me, my school does accept UC approved courses, so I get credit and it counts towards my gpa
depends on the person, but if you can mentally prepare yourself for the anguish and workload of 2 science aps JUST for the chance you switch your mind to chem/biochem in the future, then yeah go for it. IT WILL BE TOUGH THOUGH, juggling it will be difficult w all your other classes. Put things on a scale and see how hard this affects things on a scale
thanks for the help!!
Hey, I want to become a product manager or PM. What classes should I take and major?
Should I take pe as an online (apex) course and replace that class with another ap or elective
I already do dance inside and out of school (dance class) and I’m planning to do track as well
lol enriched gym is always fun, its an easy class
i ddin't know apex offered pe 🤣 can't you get pe credits waived with dance and track tho?
I can’t get the credits waved unfortunately 😭
is chemistry a hard class? I’m taking honors and im a little scared
Don’t be. Honors chemistry is certainly not an easy class but as long as you pay attention in class and revise you’ll be fine. I know this because I took it freshman year
chem is a breeze
you'll be fine
I wish we had honors 😔
unfair to people right?!
Fr honors for all!!
Cool that’s the same situation with me. Thanks for the info
Sadly my school doesn't do any of that. I have to send over my transcripts to the UC's I apply to separately for my UC GPA.
I took Micro online my Freshman year and it pissed off my counselor because only seniors are supposed to take that class and one, they refused to let me take the test on site so I took it at another and two they won't recognize I took it.
and then after that I requested my counselor let me take 3 summer school classes when they cap it at one and I watch him have to accept it.
I have an arch enemny
He actually enrolled me in the wrong class until I created a paper trail and he changed it. Almost got the wrong credit.
How much do elective classes matter? If so what are some recommended elective classes that will look good for colleges / that are also enjoyable?
*non AP
What do you enjoy
Last year I did business but I only did it so I could get into my high schools deca chapter. But I enjoy politics however that’s not a choice
Politics arent usually offered this early
Yea junior elective at my school
There isnt much options then
Sophomore year is the worst year for electives. Ur stuck with the same ones from freshman year …
So I’m kinda stuck in a pickle
I’m wondering if doing an art related class would be good … idk
im so stupid
i sent in an assignment and found out you cant remove them, but the assignment is done, i just couldve tweaked it a bit more..
talk to your teach abt it fam
I mean i could
say you missclicked or smth, they can check to see its done but you can make final tweaks on it
if its before the duedate you should be gucci
if its due today then rip, just learn from it
Is AP European History hard?
I mean, time management is key.
yeah? @lucid sun
I really want to take 2 APs in my Freshman year(I already signed up for AP World History), and I was thinking about majoring in economics since I enjoy higher level mathematics and want to learn to apply it to real life. Considering this, should I self study AP Macroeconomics in my Freshman year, as my school does not offer the actual class?
im not really good at sci so would it be difficult to take both chem and bio or should i take just one?
ofc, it doesn't hurt to do any self study, as long as it's not too much of burden. but i recommend self studying macroeconomics now since you'll much less time in the later years. my school is formatted in a way that freshmen can take 1 ap max, up to 3 in sophmore year, and as many as 7 in junior year. is your school similar? if so, then i'd definitely reccomend doing ap macroeconomics now. BUT if it turns out too difficult and hinders your other studies, then dont sacrifice good grades for the ap. (and remember about extracurriculars!)
It’s not “hard” in terms of content, but it also depends on your work ethic and analyzing skills. If you’re naturally good at analysis or already have strong analyzing skills, the class will not be too difficult for you in terms of essays and the writing portion. For me, I put a lot of time and effort into the class since we had so much work and I would make like 20 pg study guides for each unit, so I did really well in the class and I never saw it as hard either, just time consuming.
ew Euro
I just took the class
you would need to memorize a lot of terms
and then pit together the storyline
I thought of it as a story and I ended up with a good grade after much effort
Same
Yes if you can argue, you can literally get any point even though the answer is wrong
DBQs and LEQs?
if you have a valid argument and some supporting ideas you're fine
just outline it like the rubric
Like I talked about imperialism as a political effect without knowing about scramble for Africa, Berlin conference, nothing
Yeah and SAQs
Same I’m a world history fan
those would be evidences and if you get the idea across they'll give you the point
Ik but I didn’t know they existed
It was the unit before
I just knew the term imperialism and what it meant
Lolll
But yeah if you can argue, story tell, or both, you’re solid
👍
Yes, my school's situation is pretty similar to yours. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to answer my question. May you be blessed 🙏
Hey guys, can you please help out my friend? Write what you know down on this doc. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FVp92IMSbIVatYbqK0fqCEx8td9pPfim-H7aK4On2ds/edit?usp=sharing
hello
so I was wondering how hard Ap calc Ab is
for reference, I will be taking this class my sophmore year(or this year)
Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows and good online AP CSA courses since my school doesn’t offer an APs and I want to take it next year. Also, approximately how many hours of studying does it take per week?
if your school doesn't offer it, you should definitely self study it. freshman year would be the perfect time to do that as later in high school you're probably going to take more ap classes through the school which would take away from your free time more and more.
personally my school doesn't offer any ap classes for freshman so i'm trying to self study several this year
Thank you 🙏
i'm also going to be self studying ap csa this year, and i'm going to be first going through the entire "study for the ap computer science a exam" course on codecademy (codecademy itself is free, but many courses require you to have a premium account that you pay for, including the ap csa course) then go through the entire barron's review book for that. i don't know how many hours it will take per week but i would estimate 5-10.
Any tips for apcsp ?
Any tips for ap world and ap psych
Super easy class and tbh I don’t really have tips other than try to start coding early and looking at the curriculum of the class
Oh and actually read the create task rubric so you follow it correctly once you get there
The class doesn’t take much effort overall, and neither does the exam
Did u take the class? Jw
Yeah
I had no prior experience either
And what you learn in the class really depends on the teacher
so true
how’s my current senior yr schedule looking?:
ap stats, apush, ap chem, english 4 honors (ap lit isn’t offered next yr and i already took ap lang), cp csp, honors chamber singers, cp principles of biomed
also should i switch out principles of biomed for dual enrollment since i just have 3 aps, or keep it as is? (the de classes r sociology and economics)
I found that AP classes teach for the test. Therefore, I wouldn’t worry about how many you take. It will look better (and be better) doing extracurriculares that intrigue you:). Though if you still would like the most APs as possible, I would recommend taking calculus instead of stats and self studying stats (assuming you haven’t taken calculus yet)
thanks! but nah i’m sticking with stats, i suck at math and the teacher for calc and stats is bad tbh so i’d rather do stats since it’s easier and won’t be as torturous with a bad teacher lol
Yea fair enough. I’m a math/physics nut so maybe I’m not the best person to answer your questions:)
lol that’s fair, it’s fine still helpful tho
it looks good as long as you think you can successfully do it!
keep in mind senior year is college app year and that's stressful and hard and draining emotionally and mentally. So definitely not a good year to overdo it or push yourself to do more than before
yea true
hmmm by successfully i mean keep up with the classes and not be overwhelmed and dying
bc grade wise
you only really need super good grades until college app time (and sometimes not even (it depends on your school's grading system) bc on the common app you can write in progress)
and then after you get into a university they typically have senior year grade rules
meaning you have to get above like a c or d in order to stay enrolled
(which is relatively low compared to striving for A's)
so that's a plus
though doing good should be the goal since you still take and pay for those AP exams and AP tests can let you skip classes
Any advice for a sophomore taking APUSH ?
Make sure to study your notes so you remember the information lol
For me it helped to create fun acronyms and little stories to memorize things
But even then I have a memory worse than a goldfish so for me the main thing was remembering stuff
And then essays stuff are just your typical LEQS and DBQS so if you already have some practice with them you’ll be fine. if not, later in the year you will practice it and just make sure you are adhering to the timing
do u guys think i will flop if i take these classes and do u guys have any tips for these classes
Next year I am doing my 2nd year of Spanish. After that, would colleges prefer for me to take more years of Spanish until AP Spanish or quit after my 2nd year and take more ap classes? I know I would get more AP classes into my schedule if I were to drop out of Spanish next year but I know that colleges prefer 3 or 4 years of a foreign language. I am planning to apply to schools with low acceptance rates and I want to increase the chances of me being accepted.
