But kinda sad because I talked to the teacher today and she said there was nothing I could do
I have one last assignment that if I do well on will only bring my grade from 88 to 89
Just need a 0.5 to get to an a-
If I do well on that assignment
oo that's sucks, that happened to my last semester in English I had an 89.4 and to get an A I needed an 89.5
I was so annoyed about that š
nope š
Thatās what I dislike abt this grading system
yeah-
I would threaten to off myself for one point
Especially 89š
Rotc will never be for me
Ig I had to earn that 1 point
I dropped rotc next year
Barely passed this semester
Joining a sport
Man being ak american citizens deserved a point
Fr
I will said bribe them telling them u will go to the military and you need a 90
It was history of all subjects
oh-
well I've never had to do that-
I can't relate but I hope your grades goes up the best it can
Last semester it was rotc that was an 88%
This semester itās Apwh
I did drop rotc next year
Joining a sport
Plz do this it will help for my essay

If i want to take pre calculus over summer so i can go straight to taking AP Calc BC next year as a sophomore, what do i do since i'm moving this summer to a different school and city, but in the same state
should i do my current school's summer school program or my new school's?
does anyone know any good APs to self study over the summer (btw im currently freshman so pls take it ez)
Ap bio - only if youāve taken honors bio though
Or well Iām going to try to do that
If ur doing good in any of ur honor classes u can ask ur teacher to recommend u to a AP class for ur sophomore year, so you wonāt have to take an AP over the summer
Depends on your procrastination levels lol
What if you procrastinate during the old years?
iāve heard of people who take algebra 1 a year early in 7th grade, algebra 2 in 8th grade, letting them take precalc in 9th grade and ap calc in 10th grade. what would you take after that? do their schools offer stuff past calculus?
They might take dual credit courses from local university/cc
ohh, thanks!
Should I take AP Euro History instead of bio in 10th grade and take bio in 11th and ap bio in 12th instead or will this somehow affect my transcript?
yes im doing that and my school offers multi-variable calculus and math seminar(linear algebra)
oh do you have bc?
nope
damn
I am going to grade 9 will information technology be better or computer science. Please help
IT
I am taking physics, chem,
In my school you can advanced alg or college alg
Statistics
The more math course the better
Or just go to your local community college
i know a student whos doing calculus in 7th grade ill ask him
I did that but we have to take geo
In 8th
So Iām taking calc next year
what grade are you in?
10th
Geo really messed me up, no one really understood proofs
And it was weird how they introduced it in between alg 1 and 2
i never really understood why high schools put it between the two algebra courses
life was so much easier when we all were suprised that there are letters in math
what is the difference between ib graduation and regular graduation
This will help with my persuasive essay so plz do
https://forms.gle/V5iAtp7iZGi9NxWu6
Geometry in the words of our teacher is more of a science math than a full on math course
Donāt you have to do geometry at some point as a graduation requirement
well yeah
The way I did it was alg 1 in 7th geo in 8th and alg 2 freshman
but my school has a thing where if i demonstrate sufficient skills i can take a more advanced class
wait
nevermind
Is it called CDM
i donāt know what itās called
Wth are honors I always here about them
Hey everyone
I am aiming for BA psychology in ivy league after 12th. I am currently in class 10 (giving my boards). Do you think me taking arts stream would lessen my chances since many consider it not to be most rigorous course. I am taking arts because I am interested in subjects like history and psychology.
I don't think that this would happen
If you like it just go for it
Thank you so so much @rocky trail and @river cypress
You don't know how big of a burden I was able to take off my head because of your reassurance āŗļøāŗļø
Nah you just knew what to do, just needed other people to tell you
Hehe it's not a big deal lol ā
an honors class is a type of class that is slightly more accelerated and goes more in depth into a certain topic. for example, an english 1 regular class may go over the topics more slowly and focus more on getting the students to understand the concepts, whereas an english 1 honors class assumes that the students will understand the material quickly and the course will spend more time going more in depth into the topics. these classes are usually for the more academically inclined as it is more of a challenge than regular classes, but it looks better on college applications and the gpa is usually weighted differently.
we gotta do geo before algebra 2 :(
ah
If i take honors chem next year, should i take the ap chem exam with a little self studying?
You should try it...I've heard about many ppl who did that and got a 5 in ap chem
Only if you feel very confident with the honors chem curriculum and u self study some ap chem
Alright thank you
Thank you
So i already have to do honors chem, but we are allowed to take any ap exam at another school, so idk if yhat would be beficial or not
Like @cinder gorge said, if youāre keen in Chem, taking the AP Chem is better than Honors Chem for building a strong profile. And since you have the opportunity to take the test in another school, you should def use that opportunity well.
Ok thank you i appreciate it
Ap exam wont change
Just take the class and then ap chem and you gotta study/memorised stuff in your free time bc its ap chem lol
But do know the foundations
Pretty sure you can self study some basic ap chem foundation that will help you and you can jump ahead
Just keep in mind Honors chem isn't the same rigor and difficulty as AP Chem. Like dropo said you should attempt this if you're confident in the honors chem curriculum.
Iām in my early hs career and Iām wanting to become either a speech pathologist or an occupational therapist. What courses should I start taking to help better prepare myself to be successful in college (APs, duel enrollment, etc)
Has anyone or is anyone in the PLTW class IED (introduction to engineering)? I need exam help!
should i double up on math classes for freshman year? i'm supposed to take algebra 2, but would it be doable to do that and geometry as well?
also algebra 2 is apparently a prerequisite for geometry at my school
which is strange
most schools actually teach geometry before algebra 2
so
Multi variable calc or ap stats
Iāve definitely heard of a lot of kids doing that, I donāt think itāll be awful depending on what other classes you have and how good you are at math. You just gotta be careful to not combine the classes since they kinda overlap
If you could, I would recommend taking a class over the summer. You don't want to overwhelm yourself during the school year.
i donāt think my school offers that
i mean i can self study and test out for sophomore year
i donāt even know if thatās allowed either
iāll just email my gc about it
ahh iāve already bothered her enough about classes
both these classes are quite easy so i'm sure you'll be fine
yeah
iām also going to try to do a little self studying of algebra 2 over the summer
and geometry is easy
so
yeah
yeah i think iām good
i donāt even know if my counselor will allow me to do both
iām just going to self study it over the summer next year
Guys any tips for Calculus BC? I will be talking it next year, and my teacher has a reputation for being hard, but also really effective at making everyone get a five
Late Response (Useful for Everyone): Don't worry about the amount. I am going to be taking 4 as a sophomore, 6 as a junior, and 8 as a senior, but trust me on this DO NOT TAKE AP CLASSES THAT WILL NOT HELP YOUR MAJOR. Only exception is if you want to raise Weighted GPA or for Course Rigor.
Hold up
So in total your going to be taking
18 APs?
mhm
not really impressive
but here we go
- AP Psychology
- AP Computer Science Principles
- AP Seminar
- AP US Government and Politics
- AP Art History
- AP US History
- AP Research
- AP Computer Science A
- AP Physics 1 - Algebra Based
- AP Spanish IV
- AP English (IDK if language or literature)
- AP Calculus AB + BC
- AP Statistics
- AP Microeconomics
- AP Macroeconomics
- AP Comparative Government and Politics
- AP Spanish V
- AP Physics 2
- AP Chemistry, AP Biology or AP Physics C (Can't decide because Chem and Bio will get rid of one of my AP's)
- AP Human Geography
- AP European History
There ya go :D
So Basically 21
Back
So 22
Holy crap
holy crap indeed my good sir
Lol
Fair
But you should not worry
You could prob self study some of those freshman year tbh
I was worried both 8th and 9th grade I am currently in denial for mental health problem lol
What's AP meaning tho
Advanced Placement
mhm
Just a small tip
Couple of APs coming out soon
That you may want to consider adding to the list
r u serious
This year there releasing AP Precalculus
And in 2024 there releasing AP Business Principles
Thereās also gonna be like AP Anatomy and AP African Studies or something like that
Positive the Pre-Med kids lmfao
Why would you take so many aps
AP Business Principles I learned about on LinkedIn
Since there hiring people to help create the curriculum @stable spoke
What's ur goal
damn 8th graders on it now
Nah just me
college credits and to raise weighted gpa
grader* :D
And what's ur dream job
Err thatās what I said
Cool
For me Iām aiming towards CS or Civil Engineering
Would duel major but classes wouldnāt overlap
But those are subjects not jobs
YOOO ECONOMICS
wdym
yoooo
CS majors take discrete mathematics while Civil Engineers take Calculus and applied mathematics so canāt really duel major @stable spoke
Much sadness
lol
Cs/economics are subjects, what's ur dream job
Cs Makes me go brrr when i have to do math
AI or IT
What are those about
Artifical Intelligence and Information Technology
Why would you study economics then
bro what?
Im in cs classes in my highschool but i prob end up doin a business major
im deciding between both currently
Good idea to be honest CS is useful in general
But i mean economics Gets me goin
your pfp represents it lol
My cs teacher majored in Finance and he knows like 20+ languages
gawddd damnnn
im not sure if my school lets us do discrete math BIG L
I actully have someone in my family that is one of the codin staff i believe possibly director of Nasa idk if
noice
Do you know how to get internships or research projects at colleges btw
That im not sure of but i need do somethin like that
yoooo that sounds sick
super useless
but sick
Is Discrete Math hard to understand?
Iām going to be taking world history over the summer so does anyone know what they might go over to get prepared for it?
WW 1 WW2
umm
what else
prolly englasnd being op
and...
yeah pretty mich it
much*
Oh aight thank you!
yeah np
Is there any highschool (non-science) classes that might prepare me for dentistry?
I need to write an archaeological report on Otzi the iceman. I have to use archaeological skills and vocabulary and I am having trouble on how to properly implement them. ( we have already been sources and we use those)
I love that guy but not an essay about it
I thought that was 2023-24
it is
Do you recommend skipping normal chemistry over the summer to take AP Chemistry in 10th grade. At my school, normal chemistry is a pre requisite to AP Chemistry
Currently a freshman
is this too many APs
I want to take difficult classes but I also don't want to ruin my mental health
so should I lessen my course load?
yeah it's part of the engineering pathway for career technical education
Oh nice your going to a technical vocational school
I actually happen to be going to one as well @quartz mural
School of Design for architecture & civil engineering
well no I go to a regular public high school but they offer engineering classes
yea
what is the difference between the harvard cs50 courses and ap csp. im debating whether or not i should start cs50 if i alr did principles. they r both intro to programming so not rlly sure whats the diff. if anyone has taken both lmk
my school is working towards doing that too lol (ofc now that iām ab to leave), theyāre planning on having one for business, engineering, and biomed
Is it beneficial to be on practicum in stem
The pre requiste are you have to be in engineering design and presentation
So was wondering would that be good on my college application
Is like a iternship where you get paid basically when it has "practicum"
can underclassmen take aps at your school?
no
ah
but weāre allowed to take the ap exam
yeah so iām def gonna take it lol
good luck
donāt take ap chem ESP in senior year when youāre bound to get senioritis
but im interested in chem and its the first yr theyre offering it so this is my only chance
Seems like a good schedule imo but donāt slack off at all in ap chem cuz that course is no joke
im prepared š
Good stay prepared
You did say you might switch biomed did you not? With what would you switch it out with?
well idk if i will but i'm thinking 3 science classes will be too much, but also idk what i'd switch it out for so i'm gonna leave it as is
Where is the easiest and budget online school take ap classes to get high school credit
lucky.. you can take APs during freshman?
i cant till junior
smh
I mean theoretically you actually can
My school doesnāt offer APs till sophomore year(many students at the high school Iām going will be taking AP Calc AB by that point) however you can self study any AP you want
yeah ik itās just annoying that they donāt offer it till then
in all honesty Iāll probably take APs during the summer at CC
My school only offers ap physics 1 but its really hard to get into
Same
Not allowed
APs till soph :(
Talking about freshman
Ap chem is going to give you so many migraines
š fun class and nice teacher for my experienced
fun
I have an algebra exam tomorrow and i only studied for 1 hour, how do i still get a good grade? Iām really nervous
get some good sleep
then do practice problems in the morning
or go over past mistakes
Does anyone have the co-rd sci p2 from feb/march 2022?
I found the rest of the papers here btw https://www.reddit.com/r/igcse/comments/tphx1p/compilation_of_all_februarymarch_2022_released/
I decided to take AP English I in my sophomore year instead of English II, was this a good decision?
Seeing as there is no class called AP English I, i have no clue what youre doing
I am at middle school lol
I am going into high school this coming September and I had chosen robotics for my one, free pre-IB class. The problem is that my high school had canceled that class for the year and I am in a quarrel with myself whether to choose leadership(good on my resume) or athletic injury management(going into a biology major). Which do you think would be a better fit?
do things because youre passionate about them not for your resume
Ok thank you so much
Hello guys
So i am currently taking Spanish II right now
i took Spanish I freshman year
im a sophomore
however, for most colleges 2 years is the minimum amount of language you need
and i am committed on a career for engineerinhg
so instead of wasting time in spanish, should i sign up for a more helpful science or math course?
If I made one mistake in highschool, it was that I didn't take more years of language. I took two years of spanish. I was on the engineering track, as well, and had the same thought process as you. What I found out last year is that a lot of schools, especially tier 1 schools, require or encourage 3 years of a foreign language.
So, you might want to look into what schools you might want to apply for, and see their requirements.
What class would you take instead of spanish?
they require 2
APES
What class is that?
Sorry, idk acronyms
If you really feel that class would be more beneficial, especially if it's a prerequisite to another class, do it
If not, just take spanish
ap enviormental science
Best case scenario - if you want to, take APES, and do spanish 3 online or your senior year
Seeing that it's an ap class, probably take APES instead
ooh gt is nice
2 years
It's great that you have colleges on your radar!
Up until this year, I only considered in state schools, so my classes were tailored towards them
Then an opportunity hit where I going to an out-of-state, tier 1 school hit me
So you never know what could happen in two years!
So it's best to prepare to go to the best school you can, just in case
iff ur other subjects r really good then u could probably get into gtech
lowest grade is a 92 rn
What class
geometry, i didn't do so well on a test
but that was only the 2nd test that i got below 90
But more importantly, just remember that school isn't the only part of your life. Your self worth shouldn't rely on your grades. Also, don't stress yourself out too much
sophomore :/
o damn
it sucks
Geometry <<<
cuz i can't take calc in highschool
o
u could attempt a pre calc summer course
my school dosen't offer it
double enrollment
What about your school district?
oh
nope
Do they have some kind of online school?
i asked them
Check if they have precalc on the online school
yea
try ur best to take pre calc over the summer so u have a chance to get into calculus
ok
Math is really important when applying to engineering schools
it will buff your chances of making it in to whatever college
and
it will tell them ur willing to tryhard math
Most kids apply with at least AP Calc AB done
especially calculus
Some kids apply with Calc III under their belt
my freshman year courses:
though Calc 3 doesnt affect admissions that much
Algebra I
English I Honors
Spanish I
Accounting I
Physical Education
Biology Honors
Modern World History Honors
I feel that most kids you'd be competing with have at least AP Calc BC
They can't really buff the people who took classes most people are unable to do so's chances
Y'all schools let you take classes over the summer?
So I know that struggle well
We have only 5 ap courses
Had to do with what I had
so I took them all
my sophomore (currently)
Geometry Honors
English II Honors
American Government Honors
Chemistry Honors
Health
Robotics Engineering
Intro to Business
Current Issues
Spanish II
That looks like a pretty good schedule!
i already preselected by course for next year
My school doesn't even do honors
AP Statistics
Algebra II Honors
AP Lang & Comp
US History Honors
Advanced Engineering
Physics Honors
Spanish III Honors (Want to replace with AP environmental science)
Entrepreneurship Honors (1/2 year)
Intro to Astronomy (1/2 year)
taking ap statistics is good
My schedule for freshman is
Algebra II
Honors USGov
Academic English
Honors Physics
Violin
Computer Science 1
although
i would drop entrepreneurship for precalc (if possible)
I was gonna take stats next yr but then my school said they weren't offering it anymore
how do u get so many classes
i already tried asking
oh
so lucky
my best bet
is to find an online course
that will give me a credit
for calc
cuz i can take precalc senior year
so i have 2 core classes and 2 electies one semester and then 4 completely different ones the next semester
just i wanna fit in calc
ask your counselors
i did
if theres any way you can earn the credit
My school allows to skip Pre Calc for Calc AB if u get an A (A- doesn't count) in Honors Algebra 2
by not doing the formal sit in precalc
well
R ur guys pre calc pre calc/trig or just pre calc
cuz its going to be very hard
precalc
hm ok
damn
If anything, precalc is just an extension of algebra II
i wish my school had engineering courses
maybe you didnt cover all the precalc tpics?
i found it very helpful
my school has this scuffed engineering class
problem solving (like we are given a task and we have to use basic materials to solve the problem)
the people who are lucky get comp sci in middle school\
ongh
so they can start highschool with ap comp sci
@icy iron
senior year im planning to take AP chem
We covered all the standards in FL, at least. The only thing that was useful for me in AP Calc was an introduction to limits, and various trig identities.
yea thats mainly what i saw as well
Same but ppl say it's the hardest
They reintroduce limits in calc, and trig identities are rarely used in the course
At least from my experience
I'm taking it senior yr
i wasn't serious about school until mid sophomore year
i could've doubled algebra II and geometry this year
so i could take precalc next year
and calc senior year
That's what I did
but because of my carelessness at the beginning of the year, i didn't
Chem is pretty hard. Even if you fail the AP exam, though, at least you touched base with some of the content. That way, when you go into Uni, and learn chem, you are somewhat familiar with it
ap chem is going to help me though
if im into engineering
I lowkey regret not taking physics this yr
Yes it will
in chem honors, i have a 99 rn
but
thats honors
not ap
ap is going to be like 5x more difficul
its good u took chem honors
ap chem is really hard without a chem foundation
trust me u will thank urself
mhm
i just regret not taking alegbra II this year
so i could start precalc next year
My adv English teacher basically scared us about ap lang saying basically nobody gets an a and that very few ppl should take it...does anyone else teachers do that
and calc senior year
though AP physics C is arguably harder
it is very hard
AP physics is the hardest AP class
I disagree
and 2
so guys
My school has ap physicist 1 and 2 but not c
what do i do so i can get to calc by senior year
ye
AP physics 1 and 2 are algebra based
so they arent that hard
cuz it will suck if i don't get a calc credit
AP physics C is calculus based
alot of these engineering schools require calc
so it is really really hard
pre calc summer course
if u self study trig and do a summer course
Ye I wish j just would've took physics this yr so I could take ap next yr
u should be fine
can you link me to one? or do i need to talk with my counsler
at my school its 9th grade physics 10th grade chem 11th grade bio
but u can take chem and bio both in 10th grade if u tryhard
The only summer courses my school offers are ones like speech and computer apps which ducks
not aware but if u ask around here and ur counselor ur bound to find one
other schools too
Mine has earth space science freshman yrš
Bio 10 chem 11
oh we have that but u can skip that if u took Algebra 1 in 8th grade
Physics could be 10 aswell
It's required for us for some reason
The first units are easy so that was pretty fun tho
ye
But the glycolysis one was too much tbh
its easy but it bores me to death
I fell asleep like twice
thats why im definitely not taking ap bio
ima take ap physics and ap chem
But he's 1st in our class and rly smart so I shouldn't trust him
at my school they buff or destroy ur gpa
because its double the credits
and weighting
almost all schools do
I'm whatever the second one is
i was at least top 3
salutatorian
Yeah that
there is no 3rd?
u only get it in the end of senior year
My school doesn't recognize valedictorian. We have class ranks, but they don't mention it at graduation
if we are talking about unachievable dreams
then mit
same
same
u go to northwestern?
It's achievable, just gotta plan early
Mines yale or johns hopkins
I'm going to
nice
is it to late for me
congrats
Sick
cuz im already a sophomore
Thanks!
to go to mit
and i haven't taken any APs yet
I got defered from MIT, but committed to Northwestern before I got my MIT results back
being valedictorian or salutatorian is a necessity basically
grades aren't everything though
Northwestern is also insane
if you want ivy leagues
it means shit to MIT
excuse my language
ye
It's about character and personal achievements
ye
Did u have a ton of ecs?
exactly
as gohar said
it should be a story
I had four
Bro cured cancer
what was ur ec's?
It's not about quantity, it's about quality though
I cared a lot about two of them
which is what carried
I have like 3 rn but there pretty lame
extracurriculars
oh
oh i didnt spell that right lol
damn
my school doesnt have either one of those
At my school we can't get into nhs until junior yr
next year im planning to open up my own club
I'm in hosa that's the only club I'm in
Same
ivys love that
Mine is volunteering at different nursing homes
when you take the initiative
Im excited for my school book club
ima try to make a stocks club at my school
sorry if i didn't spell that right
Now we can do fundraiser, comeptition, bake sale and alot of stuff
My stats:
Rank: 1/600
GPA: 5.05 out of 4.0
Test: 1450 SAT (Did not submit)
Extracurriculars: President of TSA Chapter in my school, 3 year officer of student government, 2 year National Honors Society member, Varsity Tennis Player.
Honors and Distinctions: Questbridge NCM Finalist, Gold Key Scholastic Arts and Writing Winner, AICE Diploma with Distinction, placed in States for Videogame Design (TSA), placed 2nd in States for Videogame Design (TSA), invited for Nationals for Engineering Design and Videogame Design (TSA), self teaching AICE Chemistry A-Level (equivalent to Chem 2 and Organic chemistry) 9 AICE classes, 5 AP courses (out of the 6 my school offers), local Art show winners, stuff like that.
I've seen kids with less get into better schools
oh nice
sheesh
you appilied for MIT right?
I should have applied
yeah
which state are u from
Florida
ooh
I have very few awards I should work on that
im from New Jersey
Being from FL is also a disadvantage
i only have high honors as rewards lmao
I'm from Kansas bruhš¤
I actually need to work on EC's
Just do with what you have guys
believe or not
trying out for robotics
Succeed within your realm, that's what your colleges are looking for
so
because if i make it itll look really good
yea
dont think i will
Not everyone can be a science academic olympiad, nor does everyone have the recourses
theres 300 ppl applying
Do the best you can, and just remember, that college is college
Wish my school had science Olympiad tbh
if there is advise you would give me right now to increase chances of getting into a college like MIT, what would be it
it be*
dont only focus on one group of subjects
make sure everything stays well
and commit to subjects instead of dropping them
even spanish?
yeah try to stick with it
even though im probably going to forget like 95% of it
Take some higher math classes, and have some spikes in your portfolio. MIT is one of those schools that likes seeing that you are really good at a few things. But overall, do well in school
Make some projects on your own time
RANK 1 POG
Develop some hobbies that you can do
im planning to learn coding this summer
I made videogames!!!!
Take advantages of the whole year, the summer, and try to get internships
so next summer i can try to do an internship
Check out a game I made!
Something like this on your portfolio, will really help you get into MIT
whats did u program it in
oh nice
Is going to like tech or medical camps good?
Sadly, I didn't finish the game by the time I started to apply
Unity
thank yoU!
this is really good
YES THAT IS AMAZING
rasberry pi is bad
I disagree
The non-profit I'm in is paying for it so that's why I'm going to one
3d modeling is also great
dont focus on all of these at once
learn all that you can in the time you can
go one by one
k good
coding should be top priority if you want to get into MIT
mhm
or any school like that for engineering
im doing that this summer
Coding takes more than a summer to learn
the great old python
as for sports, i do golf
it's also a good language overall
ye
oh yes that helps!
Good language to start tho you could just stick with
Python
Look for summer programs
And still be an excellent programmer
I'm learning c++ rn
thats good
my dad is a good coder
by far
Python Gang
C# is op
he said that once you learn one language
C#s great
other languages become easier
Thatās true
cuz its mostly the samre
It's fast, makes sense, and you can also allocate memory by hand if you want to!
Tho only if you actually understand the CS content
just a few format adjustments
as for grades
my current GPA rn is a 94
weighted
so idk if thats low or high
or just good enough
Is your gpa out of 100?
I have no idea
cuz gpa is very controversial
some schools its a 3.8
some its a 4.0
some its a 3.9
gpa doesn't make the application,
ik
there is is so much inflation
Agreed
but having that 4.0 just makes it look good
You need good ECs
I'm the valedictorian, and that didn't help me much
Course rigour
at least
Public or private
i am planning to take the SAT
My school has so many people
i started to prep for it since march
Itās scary thinking about val
cuz i want that 1500 very badly
Im planning to take the act
you don't need val for a college like MIT
Next school yr prob
public
Did your counselor gave you textbooks?
im also signed up on nextadmit
low-income public :c
no, i did alot of research and selected some
i will show you the ones i got
They gave me the sat test from last year to review
Public Valedictorian > Private Valedictorian
being low-income is lowkey the strat for getting into tier 1 schools
Ahhh mine is from the college board
I got an act tutor with textbooks and stuff
Yeah sadly I dont have that
yuck
the sat
Books are great
Kahn academy is also an amazing free option
I only took mine once
don't do that
yea
remember not to burn yourself out though
OOO MY ENGLISH TEACHER HAS THAT
im halfway through my SAT grammar good
She let me borrowed it
Reading books helped a lot. I struggled badly before I started reading.
book&
yea i need to do that lol
so guys should i worry about calc rn
or should i focus on completing algebra II
It took me like 5 minutes to read a whole passage now it takes me like half but that's for act
and then worry about calc
The library has some good sat textbook and he knows me good
So thats what I mostly used
Comleting alg 2
Mostly unit circle /trig
But in my school to take calc u need a pre calc creditš
Unit circle is more pre calc tho?
Mhm
same
im trying to take precalc next year or next summer
Thats why im doing pre calc in comm college
so i can take calc senior year
SAME
Bc i have all As in alg 2honors
I self study unit circle
Legit bought the princeton review
oh
so what would you do
if you were in my situation
so i could take calc by senior year
and take precalc before it
i can;'t
Then do summer school
according to my school guidelines
Talk to your counselor man^^
its a stretch to skip precalc
Especially dual credit counselor
They will list some free sumemr pogram that can give u hs n college credit
But pretty sure summer courses for comm college alr ended
Theres also an option idk abt your school but depending on the subject you want to skip you can take a test abt that subject in summer and if you passed it you earned that credit
But you have to self study that subject hard over summer
and worst case
But may vary if your school does that
should i take calc on khan academy
Rip
even though it won't give me a credit
My counselor always praying for my downfall
i will still know calc
AP Calc AB sophomore
wow
How tf is that possible
Great ol teacher pls give me knowledge

Anyways itās actually very common for students here to skip pre Calc and algebra 2
So its summer school that the school provide?
Brush I wish I was at a magnet school
Omg my high school is ranked #6,268 in the nation
Not exactly
that's so funny
Mines prob ranked like 20,000
Ahhh so you told your counselor for summer pogram?
And tell you to do it on your own @half thicket
Damn
The school doesn't define you!!!
Which many students do
It deff doesš
And many students pass finals
Nvm its mid 7,000s
mine is ranked #4,119
So you take a test that give u the credit?
Just cause you don't go to a fancy public or a private school doesn't mean that you can't succeed with what you have!
Yeah
Nvm it's like 7,900
It's 6% as of this year
Some school does that huh
T10 baby
Man im doing comm collegeš

i also heard colleges love it when you do research
for a local university or sum
True
Ahh well lets hope
I was gonna finish my book tn but I changed my mind
As someone who has gone though the college application process, being a part of the lower income family and community, and with friend with others of the same status, whom are going to attend MIT, Standford, Princeton, Caltech, John Hopkins, etc, I can say with upmost confidence that the school you attend does not matter (unless you go to a really really fancy private school or feeder school - which many don't anway). You need to succeed with the resources given to you. You need to make it known what limitations that you have faced as a student because of your school, and show how you overcame it. It's not about who took Calc 3 Sophmore year, or whether you got a 1600 on your SAT. It's about whether or not you managed to do your best with the materials you were given. Although stats like that may help, going into an elite school and most other schools is a manner of holistic review. My school didn't offer many AP classes my fellow applicants took. I still got into a good Uni. It's cause I tried my hardest with what I was given. Those friends I mentioned also have similar experiences. As underclassmen, I feel like you guys should really understand this.
Yeah sorry
Just something that I wish I knew earlier
There is always going to be someone smarter than you
But being of the best character you can is the most important
Pop off
but congrats
