Really depends on the school
economics
no but what be usual considering my schools opportunities
Ooh thinking about Wharton?
Honestly take the most rigorous classes
UPenn
I am taking the most rigorous classes but we only get one ap sophomore year as a class
Ah rip
Then take it
na I can self study aps tho
That improves ur gpa as well right?
Credit wise yes
4x internships (law based)
2x club founder (FBLA and HOSA)
I got 1450 SAT but I’m retaking it this December
Varsity swim and JV tennis
It’s alright stats
4 internships 🗣️
u took the sat already. Ima take it next year
Math is super light
why u doing finance lmao
Well
My future profession is commercial real estate
Technically I don’t need to go to college
but
Yk
it’s Wharton ykwis
word. It’s the English sections that’s cooking me. I took a in person practice test got a 1500 but it felt to easy
What state you from
ima ED Stanford or UPenn tbh
na edison
what ur gpa looking like
I got like research, a co founded non profit, taekwondo(black belt), academy soccer(ima drop this maybe), and 200 hours through Boy Scouts rn. I need more business related ecs icl
my award sections looking dry asf rn😭🙏
Aye gl tho
Hardest part of the college process
literally
Is the research private research? Or under prof
hello guys I am starting practical nursing this fall and I need your help for selecting courses
biology , chemistry, human anatomy
Hey y'all, I'm thinking about maybe double majoring when I get to college. Does anybody know approximately how much workload it would be if I do ENG and MAT SCI?
Join deca or fbla
Internships
business olympiad
i dunno if that even exists
start a profit busniess, money looks impressive and donate it to a charity of something
or you can keep it to buy a pink telsa
like my friend did for some reason
ok is this good for all of high school
ok are these classes good for high school in terms of APs?
Sophomore Year
- AP Human Geography
- AP CS Prin
Junior Year
- AP Bio
- AP CSA
- AP Lang
- APUSH
- AP Stats
Senior Year
- AP Chem
- AP Physics 1
- AP Gov
- AP Calc BC
- AP Lit
All my APs
Why take AP bio junior year and AP Chem senior year
hey guys i have no clue what degree to go for, the uni will begin in a few weeks, anyone got any advice
What are you're interests?
thats the problem I dont know
in terms of making money I want to end up as a buisnessman with a functioning buisness
but a buisness degree is pretty useless for that
What type of business? Also no a business management degree can be helpful for getting management positions to work as while developing your own business
So you have a job to fall back on in the chance that it doesn't go perfectly
any type tbh whatever makes me money
Ah you should find something think about it
I understand, thats why I am even persuing a degree
Like a product or if you have other interests like idk mechanics start your own car repair company that's an example but find an interest to start a business over
But the degree is still a good idea in case it's not success at first you still have work
Just thats all I can think of if it helps.
As I said, anything that makes me money
the idea of business itself is enjoyable, I LOVE the work itself and its very easy for me and I also have lots of connections and people who can help me with this as well
a few months ago I started selling animals, basically buying them for bulk for cheap and then selling to butchers, slaughter houses, etc
it worked quite well untill i had to return to my homeland to visit my sick grandparents as they probably wont live for much longer
Ik a degree is a good idea but particularly WHICH ONE
I dont know how valuable a buisness degree
i dont know how i am going to get hired if i have one
etc etc
I understand that, who doesn't want money XD and I've thought of the same but I have other plans in mind in life.
My aunt breeds pure blood dog breeds and cats and sells them. Not to bad of an idea or raise live feed or stuff like live mice all good ideas. And im very sorry to hear that :(
Also my dads working on a business management degree basically helps you get hired in management positions
Like a store manager
does it pay well
if i am gonna work for someone atleast
AT THE VERY LEAST 100k$ a year
Well I live in the US
Guess it depends on what management position for which company you get in
You could probably do your own research into it
Bruhh everyone does at some point
I am good at it+ its easy+ it seems to pay well
Ehh
it doesnt pay well?
AI starting to develop so fast people aren't gonna be hiring computer science experts as much if AI can do it easily, better, and free
Stuff like medicine or management though is more human based or requires the human mindset to do
I'm going into psychology or plan to
It will be extremely difficult for AI to take over that
Because people want to talk to people, not an automated voice
I write code for uh minecraft mods XD so I've thought of it to just to me seems kinda of a waste
after talking to computer science graduates who work in a good space, they said that ai will only replace the simple and low end programmers, more competent once who need to take into account other nuances will most likely work along side ai rather then be replaced by it
mmmmmmmmmm
Look at how much AI has developed in the past few years? Imagine 5 years from now how much it'll be
true true
yeah
I'd rather know for certain on something
the uncertainty is annoying
keeping the phone next to you so makes sense why u cant sleep
literally lock ur devices somewhere else and give the key to ur parents
lay on the bed and after a few minutes you'll automatically go to sleep (unless ur sleeping schedule is messed up)
Oh no I have um..mental problems sleeping nightmares and stuff
And nah I'd rather not have them go through my phone
And it's a complicated reason why I do
Sleep with it lol idk my sleep schedule is actually good though
I fell asleep earlier so I woke up earlier
I've had the same issues
insomina (sucks)
My mom has that sounds like it sucks
literally cannot sleep
ur body and brain is begging for some sleep
but somehow u cant
Neither can I
Fear of paralysis or dreaming
Or break-ins from trauma
Ocd so I get up almost every our to check the lock on my door
It's a nightmare
same here
this is gonna sound weird but I became religious and started doing supplication to god and now I am fine
Nah
not tryina make u join a cult just saying what worked for me lmfao
yeah forced upon religion is never good
Now I want no part of any
yikessssssssssss
Idk I've found stuff that helps though
thats good thats good
Which is why I sleep with my phone, I leave it on a chat message screen with my friend and I fall asleep it acts like comfort
Not sure why
:(
I cant sleep with anyone in a room with me that's the problem
That's why I don't get it
why though
Trauma
whats the reason
even if u have trauma, sometimes we humans do need another person to be by our side
someone who'll not be reminding u of ur trauma
I don't wanna stick my nose in but I do want to ask why
And that's what they do :( idk I've never been hurt before by them the only reason I can
Idk they're very controlling go through my texts and stuff without asking and yell at me for hours on end every day
Over dumb stuff
I'm 16 and not allowed to have discord either
I have no irl friends
Not allowed to go outside
honestly understandable
I can understand both sides tbh
from what I can see, they are worried/scared of external influence
But like it's controlling
If it weren't for online stuff I'd forget other people exist
I'm not allowed to go to public school either
they are parents, its kinda like their job to be controlling
but its probably too much
yeah they are a bit too paranoid
Yeah
but we have been given these parents and atleast they dont beat you with whips or soemthing
So first of all I'll be greatful for that
2nd, theres nothing we can do, you try to make them understand (by first understanding them and their worries) or if that doesnt work just live with it
Most of trauma is kinda self imposed
I am no therapist so I cant give you the slow and steady solution to being mentally healthy again but I can give a different perspective of mental issues
its not something like dementia where its an actual brain problem
here its you not being able to handle overbearingly controlling parents
....no I've been hurt before by them. And no any time I talk out loud I get yelled at I have to be quiet or only talk when im allowed to. I've become anorexic too over this it's pure hell. I've kinda stopped trying irl now
I just try to help people online until im too tired
Anymore
by hurt you mean physical abuse?
i have a doubt
whats up
my parents beat me with belt
Yeah they tell me it's normal lol that they were too as well
That it's "discipline"
what happened
I can kinda see what they mean
in their own minds they think they are discplining you
But now I'm too scared to do anything in fear
if they actualy are or not is a different topic
Just got beat
i wanna pursue aerospace engineering as an intl students but apparently its tough to get a H1B visa
i get beaten every day 💀
With anything or just with fists
Yeah :/
beating is never the option
actually making kids "discipline" by beating them only works for like 5/100 kids its not even worth it others will just get trauma
if i talk too loud
I'm not allowed to talk
:/ that's happened before too
i wanna pursue aerospace engineering as an intl students but apparently its tough to get a H1B visa
in us
primarily in space engineering
I'm struggling with a really bad disorder right now and they refuse to get me help or acknowledge it. That's neglect
Any way you see it
Anyway im gonna go back to sleep or try to im dead if I wake up late or tired
And if im caught awake at this time-.-
@cinder gorge
i wanna pursue aerospace engineering as an intl students but apparently its tough to get a H1B visa
in USA
primarily in space engineering
unfortunately I am not knowledgable in that department, keep asking that question untill someone replies
sorry
k
Should I take AP statistics or AP calculus AB/BC my senior year
Or just chill and take Honors analysis (which I’ve heard for my school is basically pre calc but they don’t offer AP)
I think you should do AP calculus AB/BC
Should I do AB or BC
I’m usually strong in math but I got one B+ (the last marking period) in algebra 2 and then the rest A’s
What ru majoring in
I think what he means is that u take both in the same yr, idk if ur school has that
If ur comfortable w ur school counselors try talk w them and see if they can provide help and support
Tf
Bro I don't go to public school
I have no counselors
My parents are principle teacher punisher and "support" if I can even call it that
Ur private school doesn’t have any???
Bro
It's not private school
they buy me books I read them and my mom makes the tests
O
All dead
Or not allowed to know them
Its just me and my parents who live in this state, all the realatives I do know don't live here and I don't have a phone number
Lol yep fun life
Damn will u be able to go to college?
Would u recommend doubling up in sophomore or junior year? Im a new freshman and despite many schedule change requests I didnt get the doubling up I wanted so I was wondering if it’s fine to do it in these years
Either in science or math btw
Do u could do in both that what I plan to do
Like both sci and math?
No I meant in both yrs
I wouldn’t be able to fit both but isn’t BC both semesters of college calculus and AB is first semester
I think that’s what I heard
I might major in biology
In my school they do ab s1 and bc s2 but idk if u have that option
Just AB and BC separate
Oh Alr
I think u should take bc then
If ur going into stem they is a decent chance of heavy math work
Alright thanks so much
Yes
BC is AB but with 2 more units, unit 9 and 10 include calculus 2 content
what should I avoid during a college essay?
Trauma dumping from what I’ve heard
Thank you
alright thanks
Should I do Spanish or ap physics? Tryna go into something physics related like engineering. Im a junior and can do physics next year, but isnt it good to do Spanish every year of your high school?
Can you not do both?
I’m doing Trigonometry next semester
Ok
No my schedule doesn't fit. So eaither Spanish or physics.
does your school have a language requirement to fulfill?
I already fufilled it
But I heard 4 years of Spanish is good for like college and stuff
are you doing ap physics 1 next year?
What is this?
idk what course to choose for uni like I'm a science stream student
guys any of u in a private school ,and do u have courses in it?
becz im in private school since 10 years and still they didnt give us any courses or any help for SAT
im in grade 10 now
if u have a good course for sat tell me pls
Hello, I’m an incoming high school freshman, do you guys recommend taking a foreign language? I want to get into the t20s
Or is it required for t20s?
i think some or most competitive colleges require a few years of foreign language in highschool, but you'd have to check the requirements for specific colleges as they can vary
Yeah I can
does anyone know of any dual enrollment opportunities in saudi arabia? preferably riyadh
I'm so confused
I wanna pursue aerospace engineering
But it's tough to get internships and jobs as intl
cold emails!!
No that's the thing
You won’t be able to practice anything. Aerospace engineering is regarded as vital to national security
Hell, even if you go to MIT, employers wont take you as an intern unless you’re a national. Even if you had a green card, which you don’t. You’re a fully international student. You’ll get zero internships and zero opportunities for work until you become a US citizen
I'm thinking maybe I should major I'm CS or smth
But I hate CS although it's the easiest to get H1B Visas
Ps I would earn the most
so ya'll do you think my counselor is gonna be pissed at me and whether I should actually do this or not?
So like spring of sophomore year I picked out some classes for DE
I've already dropped one of them bc I decided I wanted to do Japanese as well
but the classes I chose were so i could get a certificate in phlebotomy but this past summer my entire family has convinced me that it's not worth it
and most of my family are healthcare workers so I believe them bc they said that phlebotomists don't get paid that much, like more than minimum wage in MA but still not that much, apparently the phlebotomists are weirdo's and I should hang with people my own age when I'm a college student, and it'll be hard to find a hospital or something that would hire a newly certified phlebotomist who'll be a full time student and needs to be part-time employed
And they convinced me that being a waitress or bartender was better and easier to achieve
so fine, I'll take a bartending course in senior year. But also, I just realized that i can't transfer over any of these phlebotomist courses from DE to uni bc I'll be majoring in business
but also, that uni I wanna go to says they won't pre-evaluate classes so I don't know if I can transfer over any business credits either to make getting my degree cheaper
So, my big final idea and question is: should I just drop all my phlebotomy classes, change my intended DE major, and take a risk by doing business classes? Potentially pissing off my counselor bc they're new and will have to do some more paperwork for me
like I know that theoretically taking business classes before going into a business degree at uni is probs a smart idea but like, the classes I'll be taking are business major requirements like general accounting and finance that are kinda gen-ed for my degree and that might not even transfer over
shit it might be too late to sign up for some of classes bc they're full now 😭
which class is the hardest on here
usually they're taken together
like in the same period and class
bc they're rly similar
they're considered to be the easiest ap's available
I NEED HELP
yes
?
I’m going to be a sophomore in high school should I take calc ab or bc*
go for bc i would say its basically ab but with more content
for ab is fine as well
prolly ap world cause of the teacher
ah okok
I got mines recently as well
But in my school I only take four classes at once here’s my sophomore schedule
Both
You definitely want to take a foreign language
Hi i am in a kind of dilemma rn, I need to decide my engeneering major ASAP.
I am initially thinking of applying to EE beacuse it's more board. (The major has like 15 different subfeilds ,infact CE&SE r considered branches of CE&SE) and I can easily switch to Computer/Software Engineering, if I wanted to however switching from SE/CE to EE will be hard.
Also I heard an Eelectric E can work as a S.Engineer/C.Enginner if they just take programming as a hobby while studying.
I am also choosing EE over CE/SE beacuse I am not sure what I want to do with life and if Programming is the thing I want to spend my life doing. (I have a passion abt technology but idk if i can excell and outsand in it)
I also heard u can still work as a Software or Computer engineer with a EE degree and u can even take masters in either fields with an EE degree.
So what do u guys think? All suggestions are appreciated.
is 9-10 APs a good amnt
depends on the amount of aps offered by your school and how many you can take each year
although thats a lot
how many can you tak each year
1 freshman
2 sophmore
2 and 1 dc junior
and 3dc and 1 ap senior
dual credit has same weighting as ap so i js count it as ap
i think thats a solid amount
skip principles and take cs A
Generally people interested in CS do well in the class and ap exam for both CSP and A
Quick story: Peer got 100 on every test and finished the course with 2 months to spare
Was flexing claiming he got a perfect ap exam score
Then he got a 4
pls what's the difference
ab is more easier than bc
depends what class you took
most schools offer bc to students that took honors trigonometry/precalculus
but if you take something like regular integreted math 2 you might not do as well or your conselors may not recommend it
they both count as 1 semester of college classes so just depends on how you want to invest your time
Don't take pre calc
Calc ab has 2 less units
I took pre calc honors and got a A and got recommended for bc
But my school only goes up to multi variable
And if I finish that junior year I will have to take a course at princeton university
But since college courses are set dates like every Monday and Wednesday and my school works on a A B day schedule so one Monday I will have math class and the other I won’t
So it’s so hard to take a class there in high school for that reason
My sister tried it but the school said she would have to drop a Ap so she didn’t take a math class at princeton senior year
So that’s why I was thinking about taking ab this year bc junior then multi senior
sounds good
u can do bc sophomore year then stat junior year then multi senior yr
Hello I need help with picking to do Spanish 3 in eather Apex or BYU. I want the easyest one anyone know what i should pick? Thank you
What are those
this you can do over the summer so you don't have to do in the school
Good gpa booster but doesn’t grant credit at many colleges and doesn’t even give a credit that most people would use
So pretty bad if you have a packed schedule
yeah
Seems pretty open to me
GPA boost for sure though
Except it kinda tanked my UGPA cuz I'm dumb
I figured out how to study effectively like May
💀
meaning the exam was super easy for me, but anything before May I didn't do great on
You colleges have APs affect your gpa?
?
Wait I’m dumb
To clarify, UGPA -> Unweighted GPA
Haha you're fine
I was thinking of university gpa 💀😭
I’m in a discord with a bunch of engineers maybe you should ask them?
I’ll send you a DM of the invite
It’s called engineering tree
hey yall i’m a sophomore who’s wanting to pursue neuroscience (either computational neuroscience or neurology) after high school and I really want to get either junior marshal (or hopefully val/sal but that’s seeming a bit unrealistic)
… more in next message so I don’t write an essay
So far I’ve taken 7 normal classes and 2 DE classes. At my school we give a .5 quality point to DE classes and 1 quality point for APs. Unfortunately, I got an A in one DE class and a C in the other.
I’m currently taking 2 APs and 5 regular classes. What should I do next year AP wise and all do that in order to get as high as possible in class rank?
Junior Year
AP Calculus BC
AP Spanish Language and Culture
AP United States History
Chamber Orchestra
AP Chemistry
AP Seminar
AP English Language and Composition
Senior Year
DE Linear Algebra ~ Multivariable Calculus
AP Government ~ AP Economics
Chamber Orchestra
AP Research
AP English Literature and Composition
AP Psychology
This is my current plan but it seems I’d be really susceptible to burnout
Keep in mind I will have to take Calc BC and Seminar next year regardless of what I do
That goes for Research during senior year too
For comparison, there are people in my class who took 1 AP + 6 regular classes last year and are taking 4 APs + 3 regular classes this year
....
Hello, Top student here
Although it is burnout prone, if you want to be valedictorian or salutatorian its wise to take as many AP classes as your school offers. One way to avoid burnout is to learn a school life balance (easier said than done). Of course to do this you have to sacrifice some time in your personal life to study
If you want to at least get top ten, then you can take at least 5 ap classes and you will do good.
Seems like from the DE you tend to underestimate the rigor of some courses, speaking from the grades you got.
And also wayyy too early for burnout
I would say they might hit burnout around junior year or senior year. I really hit burnout during that time between work school and college aps
Yo if u doing neuroscience definitely definitely consider taking AP bio and ap chem and anatomy
I need help with picking to do Spanish 3 in eather Apex or BYU. I want the easyest one anyone know what i should pick?
bro its been like 2 days untill i put the last message about this pls somone respond ;-;
Hello, whats the name of the collage that when you get the degree you become a personal sports doctor?
?
Do you mean what med schools offer a doctorate in sports medicine?
Like you know footballers have personal doctor or the whole team has a special doctor
Idk, don’t play football
But you can google what colleges offer degrees in sports medicine
Its kinda separate from med school, its really close to natural remedy college
Ok you know how people with spine problems dont always go for lab medicines but they go for natural medicines like swimming as a remedy for they’re spine? Well they gotta have a doctor to help them and this collage specializes in that
yo guys what AP courses should I take for my sophomore year I’m taking AP Seminar
So after Geometry and Alg 2, should I take Trig/Probability and Statistics (one course) or AP Pre-Calc?
ap precalc
some science class
@static acorn science?
like chem, bio, phys 1
@static acorn tbh I’m taking pre-AP bio
whats pre-AP bio? we don't have that
@devout lantern it’s a course that prepares you for AP courses
So for my sophomore year I can’t take AP bio
But next year then yea
ohh ok. i guess we just don't have that at my school. at my school they just have a prereq class in that subject like taking bio 1 before AP Bio and getting a certain grade
thats pretty good
For some reason my school removed Pre-AP bio for my freshman year which is so stupid
And it’s hard for me to take other courses
Like AP and whatnot
So I can only take 4 courses for my sophomore year
And I’m taking AP seminar, pre-AP bio, pre-AP algebra, and pre-AP English 2
what is pre AP algebra
is it just algebra 2
Yeah
would be like honors algebra 2 ig
@coarse sigil no it is not honors algebra
regular?
No it’s pre-AP Algebra II
Wtf is ap algebra 2
@safe granite bro wdym
I’ve never heard of ap algebra 2
No worries
real
Am I cooked? I'm a sophomore. Here's what I'm taking this year.
H = Honors
Algebra II (H) - Math
English 10 (H) - English
Biology (H) - Science
AP Comp Sci Principles Elective
AP Human Geography - Social Studies
New Testament Studies - Bible
Spanish II - Foreign Language
Business Fundamentals - Elective

Junior Year
AP Lang - English
AP United States History - Social Studies
AP Bio - Science
AP Comp Sci A - Elective

AP Calculus (BC) - Math
AP Spanish Language and Culture - Foreign Language
AP Stats - Math
AP Chemistry - Science
AP Physics 1 - Science
Screenwriting - English
Service Leadership - Bible
Nah you're fine for 10th.
What abt future courses
They're tough, but possible with work yk.
Seminar is FUN!
Nope, you're completely fine this year
Junior should be somewhat harder, but still easily manageable (I believe in you!)
Senior is going to be rough, BC, SPanish, double science, and lit
gonna be really rough
Which science? I’m curious 🧐
Idk what other schools do and stuff
not me, this guy
physics and chemistry together is WiLd
Like my friend took bio and chem, somewhat crazy already
CHEM & PHYSICS?!
Ngl I may be cooked next year but what’s the point in life if we don’t challenge ourselves, right?
what are you taking next year
Here’s my incoming sophomore classes:
AP Physics C Mechanics
AP Physics C Electricity & Magnetism
AP Statistics
AP European History
Biology
Spanish 3
English 10
Health Education
the hell? Two ap physics?
also crazy
at least the rest of your schedule is normal
Sophomore as wellll 😭😭😭
jeez bro very impressive
completing calc is impressive as a sophomore
Nah I did it freshman
My GPA kinda sucks thoooo…
I kinda bombed Calc 💣
Guys, can I drop ap euro? I thought I’d love it and be interested but forgot that I fucking hated apush and this won’t be any better. I’ve got very possibly the best teacher at the school and one of my best friends in the class and I’m fs interested in euro but I can’t do 20 pages of reading a night on top of 4 hours of work and 4 other aps
For reference I’m trying for mit (trying not expecting) and have calc bc lit csa and physics this year. Senior this year and 5 aps last year with a 5 on the 4 tests I took, 5th I didn’t take a test for bc it was de at state college
calc bc as a freshman is impressive
is what i meant
Yeah I mean if your not planning on majoring in a related field you already have plenty of AP’s
What are your stats? I’m just curious 🧐
Depends on your story
MIT recommends 2 years of history and/or social sciences in high school
So if you are only applying to MIT, and you have 2 years already, then sure
oh
but its fine ig since ur still a freshman
just improve your GPA for the rest of sophomore and junior
Stats? Idk which ones you want but 4.71 last year, 5 on all aps while doing soccer NHS and… three other clubs? All unique to our school so you wouldn’t know them
I have 3, but I’m not trynna just complete the “recommended”. I got those and I still don’t think imma get in lmao
So what would be the disadvantage of dropping AP Euro to you?
Less on my transcript
Did I take on too much for my Junior Year as a B student who has never taken an AP?
AP Stats - Math
AP Lang - English
AP Physics 1 - Science
AP Psychology - Social Studies
Spanish 3 - Elective
Architecture - Elective
yes
thx 😭
Do you think it’s a good start for freshman year for college coming up soon less than a year?
Math: AP Calculus
English: AP English/Lit
Social Studies: AP Introduction To Law
Science: HNR Chemistry
Elective: Introduction to Italian
Elective: Intro to Media
Wow that’s good
Physics and Language are your enemies here
I might be good with physics actually, i already took regular physics so im taking AP physics just to fulfill a requirement
Oh nice how was it
Really easy but I also had an unconventional teacher. We had to figure out formulas on our own and we didn’t learn from a textbook. We all took the class while taking algebra so that made it very interesting.
Exact same story with me. I’m thinking about dropping 😭😭
I’m probably only going to stay cuz I have 2 of my best friends in it and the best teacher
That’s the exact same then 😭
The only thing making me stay is a friend and an amazing teacher
Also how tf did I check discord once in like 8 hours and it’s 2 minutes after you responded
The reason for the C wasn’t bc of the content—the teacher had marked multiple assignments as missing when I had submitted them and didn’t fix it in time for my transcript
Oh yeah for sure those if def love to take
AP Bio not so much bc the teacher kinda bad and will throw my grade
I got a 66 on a coloring sheet when I had her for bio
bros selling hard
ok
horrific blunt rotation
2 ap physics is traumatizing to think about
this genuinely might be one of the worst schedules I've ever seen and I've seen people with full APs
simply due to how discombobulated it is
hii do u guys have any tips for me? basically, i took pe over the summer and im now a sophomore (today was my first day of school). i wanted to take ap computer science principles as my second elective, but turns out that certain classes i have are full and can't be rearranged so now i cant do ap csp :(( so i got the option to take a dual enrollment class at a local college. should i do dual enrollment and do a computer science class? or should i choose an easy dual enrollment and treat it as like a free period
i wanted to take another ap but i have a free 4th period and none of the sophomore classes are teaching that period :((
Thank u for doxxing all ur teachers
So i am studying as a junior in high school but i am confused what to go with in college so i can have a good job with good pay back in india .
Wdym
There we go 👍
Idk how else to describe my schools system
So i am studying as a junior in high school but i am confused what to go with in college so i can have a good job with good pay back in india . Please help me 🙏
What do you mean by “go to with” ?
Prolly meant major
anything that interests you. i think tech is prob something in demand
do not
dual enrollment is pretty valuable
if the college offers it, take a computer science class
but don't treat it as a free period. especially because college classes are so different. it'll end up being important
not to mention it's a good opportunity imo
Uhh guys
So
I kinda was stupid and took band over chemistry freshmen year
Will thst impact my college decision
Bc I'm taking Chem now as a sophomore but like does it show that I don't have enough course rigor
how do you guys think i should approach asking my counselors to take ap calc freshman or soph (im rising freshman)
im planning to major in math and ive seen way too many people do it so why not
ive sent an email to the board of math @ my hs previously but they shut down the idea p quick
any ideas? my school is like notoriously strict and never places kids in higher classes and stuff its a pain in the ass
Take them for a placement exam
*ask
W plan?
ive revised this like 20x
should have taken dual credit us hist but too late now
they denied
okk thanks!! im just so sad bc my school has this computer science pathway (and i have to take ap csp), but since my schedule doesn't allow for it then i can't complete the pathway as a senior :((( and it hurts me more cuz my friend got the class and i didn't in time...
and it was my original idea to do these specific two classes (sorry im ranting) its just ughhhhhhh im so sad
Is this for high school?
Anyone taking differential equations?
Did u do prerequisites
AP Classes useful for someone who wants to go into Electrical and Computer Engineering?
Yes 👍👍👍
I mean what AP classes are useful
Physics, Math.
any math, science, and computer science aps
where im from, theres literally no ap's, honors, and DE courses, what should i do
is dual enrollment worth it? what exactly is it? how does it work? any guidance would be appreciated.
if u can maintain a decent grade then definitely
cuz it allows u to stay 1 yr ahead (i believe) of most other ppl from the same grade
do dual enrollment courses have to be articulated in the hs transcript?
or can I just take courses from community. college
because I am planning to take a business course from it, but it wont be like articulated into my hs transcript
wait so what dual enrollment courses do u plan on taking
I did the equivalent of ap us history and articulated it into my transcript, and now I am planning to take two business classes, but they wont be articulated into my hs transcript for credits, but I will still report these courses on the uc app? recognized as dual enrollment?
ohh wait im pretty sure most should be although u might want to check the university website cuz they would prob specify whether or not they take these pre-matriculation credentials into consideration as degree credit
Hello, I am thinking of going into the medical field. Should I take ap chem? I already have 5 APs (Seminar, Physics, Stats, USH, Precalc) and I didnt learn much from advanced chem, but the teacher goes over most of the topics covered in adv chem so its pretty easy ig. So should I take study hall instead and do ap chem another year or do ap chem this year (my other classes are pretty easy and I have chill teachers for my ap classes)?
Consider the options
If you take AP Chem this year, what would be the drawbacks? And what would be the benefits of taking it later instead of right now?
Well the drawbacks would be that I would have a lot of coursework and exams this year (and I would have to go on the grind AP week/may). The benifits is that I can do AP Biology Junior year (Im a sophomore corrently) and Bio 3 Senior year (I would also not have to do bio and chem together).
How does this look for a potiential senior year schedule
rn im self studying it
js got to the laplace transform
CLEP
But check if your desired colleges accept it
Top colleges tend to not
Also you can self study AP exams
Is one year of language or another ap more valuable (my school doesn't offer ap versions of foreign languages)
I'm in junior rn
AP > honors > regular
Even for foreign languages?
Also try to get at least 2 credits in foreign languages
Yeah
I only get regular foreign language
It's either I take 2 years of mandarin or I take one year and replace the next year with like ap stats or something
You can put that in the additional information section on a college application
Colleges require at least 2 credits in foreign languages
Some require 3 or 4 but you gotta check yourself
Hmm since I just moved schools I have 2 years in freshman and soph for mandarin, but I'm just thinking whether or not to get 3 years and 1 ap or full 4 years
Since the AP would probably be an AP Stats or AP CSP or AP humanities stuff like geo eu history
You should check with your desired colleges to see how many foreign languages you need
USC and Stanford say 3-4, but stuff like the UCs are 2 years A-G and I'm international so I don't think I'm includerd in that
how do all feel about taking a zero period freshman year?
Wut is a zero period?
I need help finding a textbook online but there so many websites with virus and I don't want to risk it any suggestions
I am a morning person, but i feel that it would be difficult trying to get a full 8 hours of sleep if you need to wake up that early. I've already done it and it wasn't the greatest taking a class that early.
libgen
for junior year should i take us history over the summer so i free a spot for elective and take ap csp and ap psychology
what ap classes should i take as a freshman?
arent you incoming sophmore?
but usually freshman take
apes, ap world, aphug
yeah
I can show you my classes as an incoming freshman
I just got my schedule today
is stats too much for a freshman?
sure
normally senior year
but u can take it if u want
i was thinking ap csp ap stat ap precalc
k
ap stats is right after ap calc bc usually
ok
I’m taking French 3 Honors, Biology GT, US History GT, Comp Sci Principles AP, Lifetime Fit, Health I, and English 9 GT
oh and Calculus AB AP
calc AB 😭
wtf
I think I’m the only Freshman at my school taking that
But I know a lot of other districts have Freshman doing it also
i am saving it for sophmore year
Hopefully
are u in the US?
Good luck!
taking precalc rn
Yes
should;ve taken it over the summer
dam
I did Precalc in 8th grade and it was pretty light
😭
they dont offer AP Precalc tho
actually im not from US
im taking pre calc sophmore year
ngl i would've taken ab over the summer
india

An AP over the summer?
that would’ve messed up my whole schedule though
i have to self study for AP
gotcha
good luck!
actually maybe not if I did Stats
future major?
but I dont think they would allow me to do an AP over the summer
i dont know yet
gotcha
i would recommend finding out what interests you and gear your courses towards that
no rush tho
subject wise I like politics and math
and some philosophy too but more as a side for myself rather than a career
probably
my dad always tells me I wont make much money with math though and I should focus more on comp sci
really hard
to get into
for top colleges
I dont find comp sci that interesting but i decided to take the comp sci course to make him feel better
cs is the most competitive major arguably
oh
personally, i wouldn't ruin my chances
just wanting to ask
what career can i have in music
erm
dont major in music
no minor
guys im knew here and i was wondering if you think architecture is a good choice
like is it future-proof
i have a few relatives that are architects would it be a good idea to ask them what is it about
they will most definitely say that architecture is good for me just bc they are architects
then ask personal questiosn not generic ones, ask them fot you to shadow them for a day
he's probably right ab the money thing if youre only getting a bachelors in math but w a masters or phd you can probably make more but if you LIKE math then money really shouldnt be a factor after youre able to live comfortably
Any career ideas with math?
Physics liek me 🤓🤓🤓
research at a university
Thank you
what other classes should i change to improve my gpa
try to switch world to ap world
then that’s it
to get good gpa u gotta get good grades
so don’t take too many super difficult classes
Two AP Historys?
yup
ty
Hey guys, I wanted to ask about senior year courses. so I asked for 4 aps this year, they only gave me 3 and an honor I had on my alternate, and my school has 20 aps around
so this year I have 3 aps 4 honors 1 dual enrollment which counts as ap credit, which is a bit lower than my junior year, is that fine
do colleges care that much
it’s about the same as my sophomore year, 4 aps 4 honors
rn im in stats honors but there are a few kids so they mixed it in with the ap stats kids, they said if i wanted to I could switch into ap stats, ap is just a bit more rigor and work they said, idk if im up to the challange of taking it on? What do you guys think
i was thinking about trying the class for a few weeks and if i am ready i will switch

Hi so I’m wondering if I should take honors chemistry or normal, and if I should take it over the summer
I’m in honors biology right now and I have an a for both semesters so far with some effort. However, I’ve heard chemistry is a lot harder than bio and many recommend just doing normal chem
(I personally have not taken chemistry nor honors, so I may be wrong)
From what I have heard as well, honors chem and just normal chem is difficult. So I would not recommend doing online unless you absolutely HAVE to or you learn better online. If you prefer hands-on experience and learn better with it, I wouldn’t do online.
As for honors or not, it really depends on how much you like chemistry. If you enjoy it a lot and enjoy a heavier work-load, then go for it!
Hope that helps a bit!
honestly i had honors chem and it i enjoyed it, one thing that you need to really do is pay attention because if you turn around for 2 mins then everything can go downhill, but overall chemistry is fun when you understand it
I’m thinking of taking AP Gov next year just to have some more APs on my transcript (and maybe for a bit of a GPA boost as well). For anyone who’s taken it previously, was it difficult for you?
What did the coursework look like?
i took honors chem last year. people say it’s more difficult because biology is memorizing terms mainly, while chemistry has a lot more math. if you enjoy math, it’s the class for you; but even as someone who doesn’t like math, i really enjoyed the class because i’m interested in science. however i think normal and honors aren’t too different, from what i understand honors just goes deeper into the concepts.
hold up what is honors
Higher level classes! So there’s mainstream classes such as World History as an example. Then there’s World History Honors which has a higher workload and bigger reward.
Honors classes typically are weighted and can move your GPA a lot (especially if you fail).
It is a bit easier to look it up though. I recommend looking up AP classes and the difference of that and “normal” classes!
are they the same as ap or harder
Honors is typically easier than AP and is seen as a prep for AP. Currently, I’m taking World History Honors and it is preparing me to take AP US History for next year/junior year. (Prep as in workload, expectations, etc.)
Sometimes they can be harder though, depending on the person.
ap is at a college level, and is structured like a college course, while honors is just going deeper into the concepts from the regular class equivalent
ok that makes sense, im ending my 8th grade year now so im trying to wrap my head up with how high school classes work
my geometry teacher's name is mr. savage
that is the definition of a menace name
for next year
LMAO
probably the same but im not sure
ok cool
If you need any help with classes and stuff, lmk! I’m a freshman, but have a few upperclassmen friends so I’m well rounded.
im gonna be a freshman so ima prob ask for help at some point KEKW
i already know what my schedule will be pretty much thank god
Haha, I was so nervous at the beginning of the year. Trust me, it gets easier :>
i hope ppl arent lying abt geometry being easy af
they are lying.
they say algebra 1 is harder LUL
yo could anyone compare AP Chem and AP Physics C? (or just uh comment on one or the other) I'm interested in both chem and physics but I'm kinda trying to decide between one or the other for soph. year
facts
I’m actually doing scheduling rn! It’s…something
MMH
i am taking all pre ap so pre ap geometry biology oklahoma history english 1
sameee it’s sm fun but then i regret wanting to take the hardest and most rigorous course load bc i want the ego boost 😭
as well as spanish 2 and football
what’s pre ap?
an intro to ap
taking ap bio next year so nervous
basically for some ap classes you have to take the pre ap class
not me thinking it’ll be a good idea to take ap chem, ap calc or stats, ap lit or honors english, apush, and comp sci principles next yr as a senior 💀
ap calc seems impossible
trig seems much easier from what ive seen
i don’t want to take it but i’m in pre calc so it’s the only math class left and i need 1 more math credit lol
why not trig?
isn’t that with algebra 2?
after algebra 2
i don’t think my school offers that as a specific course
they just combine it if u take honors algebra 2
trig is in alg 2 and precalc but there’s not a seperate class
And the fundamentals in geom
i have ez claps my morning but then i get molly wapped with back to back spanish 1 algebra 1 then science all in that order
i have ap lang then pre calc but they’re my two least favs bc of the teachers 🥲🥲
fr i hate math bc i’ve never had a good math teacher except last yr and that’s when i liked math bc i got it
my teacher this yr just doesn’t teach he goes through the problems but it doesn’t help me understand lol
💀
and he puts problems on the tests we didn’t learn intentionally just so he doesn’t have “too many a’s”
MY ENGLISH TEACHER EXACTLY. ^^^^
my math teacher this year is a goat fr
i hate the teachers that don’t answer ur questions
fr he legit said that i do well on the section he teaches us but the section of challenging problems i basically fail
like I legit get yelled at for asking like okay..?
dang that’s weird that’s legit the main job of a teacher—
fr someone needs to tel her what’s up 🤨
i took ap world geography my freshmen year and after that class, i promised to never take one again
not because it was hard but i think the teacher gave us too much work but didn’t really teach us well
Honestly, it was probably the easiest math class I’ve taken next to Algebra 2, but it really depends on you and your strengths and the effort you’re willing to put in
As a rising junior, would taking AP Bio, AP Chem, AP Calc AB, APUSH, English 11, and Journalism put me on a good track for getting into universities like the UCs as a science major?
hi im from india what should i go for ISC or CBSE or IB diploma after 10
As a Rising Sophomore should I take AP stat or Honors Pre calc I have an interest in engineering and will take Calc later if not next year
At my school, we can’t take a break between Algebra 2 and Precalculus and as a sophomore rn, I took precalc and it’s definitely worth if you want to get to Calc. If I took AP Stats this year, my school wouldn’t have allowed me to take precalc or Calc, but I am allowed to take AP Stats junior or senior year
Do colleges look at senior classes because if they don’t I might be better off taking AP Calc Junior year than senior if I have an interest in Engineering
What do u think?
Colleges do look at which classes you’re gonna take senior year but they only really care about your first semester’s grades. Overall tho, senior year matters a bit less than other years (Bc of that).
I would say if you can, def take ap calc junior year
Precalc is a pretty good precursor to calc (tho their is still a decently steep jump imo...) so I’d say take precalc in your sophomore year so you can take ap calc after and then if you want, take ap stats senior year
Thank you I’m a bit worried about what to take because I don’t want to screw my self over would the gap of Calculus for a year ? make my stock go down
Thanks my school doesn’t offer AP Science classes for sophomores will I be at a disadvantage?
okay, so i consulted a friend at my school who’s gotten into one of my target schools with the same major and she will be taking 8 APs. thankfully, i plan to take the same amount and coincidentally the same ones (except for like two). the two differences between us is that she has more ecs (i will work on those this year and next year) and that she took AP classes in this sequence:
sophomore: 1
junior: 2
senior: 5
my sequence will be this:
junior: 3
senior: 5
will i have an equal, more, or less possibility than her to get into the same desired uni?
isnt it better to do 4 ap courses in junior and 4 in senior
i will only be eligible to take those 5 in senior year bc i need to take the junior classes as prerequisites
Hello, I wanted to ask if there are french student in high school here by an chance because I’m struggling a lot for choose my future “speciality” and I don’t know if the “histoire géopolitique” one is good or not
I’m in the French system. Depends on what you want to do TBH. I chose maths, PC & NSI in 1re
Can someone please help? I need help with deciding to do math 2 and math 3 in freshmen year or should I do math 2 in freshmen, and then math 3 + pre calc in sophmore?
ohhh et du coup ça consiste en quoi NSI principalement ? Personne nous explique les différentes spé donc j’en connais quasi aucunes
NSI je fais ça par le CNED, on parle d'histoire de l'informatique et de la programmation en différents langages principalement
okayy merci !
idk what math 2 or 3 are but pre calc is really hard and u have to devote a lot of time to practicing and studying in order to do well and understand the concepts so i’d suggest taking just pre calc one year depending on how difficult those other two are
Those are North Carolina classes right?
oh ok well my school has the same naming system
Its IM2 and IM3
I’m guessing that they’re similar to algebra 1, 2, and geometry and in that case, I would do math 2 and 3 in freshman year (algebra 2 and geometry I think?) and take precalc sophomore year because precalc relies heavily on algebra 2 for some of it and it’s good to have a good foundation
hi! im currently a freshman taking biology honors and algebra 2, and i really want to study veterinary science in college, would it be a bad idea to take ap biology next year (my sophomore year) i could take it my junior/senior year but i'll also be taking ap physics 1/2
i've asked the person teaching ap bio and she said i could, but it would be challenging since i would be taking ap bio and chem at the same time
It’s definitely doable, but it also depends on your course load. I personally am having no issue taking both chem and bio simultaneously and I see a lot of inter-lap between the two, so I feel that helps me understand better. You could also wait until your junior year and take 2 AP science class (that’s what I’m doing next year), but I’ve talked to people who have taken both AP bio and physics the same year and it’s A LOT, so unless you’re certain you can handle it, I would probably just go for it sophomore year, especially if you’re allowed to.
what exactly do you do in computer science in uni?
and is it better to go to college or university out of highschool?
My classes I want to do next year (sophomore year)
English 10
Trigonometry and Statistics
AP Modern World History
Biology Honors
Chemistry Honors
Driver’s Ed
Architectural Drawing
Picked my classes for S3(8th Grade in USA I think)
English(mandatory)
Maths(mandatory)
French(mandatory)
Comp Sci
Modern History
Physics
Business Management
Chemistry
bro how do u take chem and physics in 8th grade
These will definitely be doable but good luck with APWH lol, I’m in it right now
AP human geography is easy and hard at the same time
Next year 10th grade ‘merica
AP seminar
AP world
Algebra 2 ACC (honors for those who don’t call it accelerated)
AP chem
3ACC Spanish
International Cooking
Intro to law I
Yeah honestly just know your vocabulary, I’m in AP World right now and I shouldn’t have complained about AP human
Lol
yea for sophomore year (usa) im doing AP Physics 1, Chem, IM3 Stem, Spanish 2, Leadership, AP World, and English 2 Honors
Omg my name is Khushi too!! And yeah AP Human was a piece of cake compared to AP euro
Everyone says that APUSH is way Hardee’s when compared to euro or is it just more memorizing dates and such because the us hasn’t been around for that long
Harder
I’ve heard the opposite actually. Everyone here says APUSH is a lot easier than euro because it focuses more on what’s happening in one place, rather than a whole continent, so everyone that’s done euro at my school flies through apush
Omg hiii
Next year as a sophomore I’m taking these classes am I at a disadvantage?
English 2 (H)
Pre Calc (H)
Chemistry (H)
AP World History
Spanish 3 (H)
AP Computer Science
(H) stands for honors
I want to take (Next year as a sophmore)
Accel Pre Calc
Ap Chem
Ap World History
(English II & Spanish II is must take)
Any advice/experiences?
Nope, that’s pretty much my current schedule as a sophomore and it’s quite rigorous, so it will look great
I’m not sure how that will go down with your counselor as my school specifically requires you to take 6 classes as a sophomore, but they may let you go as the first three are rigorous. Maybe take an elective that you enjoy for a 6th?
No I’m taking 7 lmao
Including varsity tennis and guitar ensemble
I can take 8 in my junior year
Ohh ok lol
Don’t
🤩
Hmm
I’d say 6 is ideal for junior year max 7
Ima take accel chinese iv in my senior year to raise my gpa
Junior year I’m taking accel Spanish thre
Are you going to drop Spanish senior year?
I mean it might balance out if you take accel Chinese 4
it can raise my gpa to 5.0
But idk it might look off to take 3 years of Spanish and suddenly drop it for Chinese
Why didn’t you take Chinese from the start?
i passed the level of chinese fluency the school can offer
so im taking spanish lol
which is accel chinese 4
Thanks I’m thinking about taking Spanish 3 online and go to Spanish 4 so I can drop it next year.
I mean maybe go for both senior year then if you really want to take Chinese
idk my chinese might be really bad in 3 years
thx tho for the advice
Yup, I’m taking Spanish 4 over the summer and then I’m done for the rest of high school 😎
Didn’t you just say you were going to take it senior year lol
yeah
but i figured i wouldn't have the confidence to say im ready to take accel chinese 4 in 3 years
The class is boring imo want to get it done ASAP same for you?
Fair enough
Honestly, I’m taking Spanish 3 in school rn and it is the worst
how do u guys take so many credit courses in the summer
Spanish is my least favorite and hardest class of my whole schedule which is the almost the same as yours lol
our school only offers algebra I geometry algebra two pre calc bio physics and anatomy
If precalc is easier than Spanish 3 that’s saying something
Yeah the teacher for mine is horrible I heard I can’t do that at all
I get counselor approval
wow
Mine too lol
may i ask which highschool u attend?
For math and science?
Me?
This is the first time I’m asking they have said u can
Yes
I don’t feel comfortable sharing that, but I’m from California
all summer courses
well there is 9th grade transitional writing course too
Oh I don’t take them through school
but that's not a credit course
I’ll say the county it’s Guildford
I take them separate
that's allowed?!?!?
Yeah
As long as it’s UC approved (university of California)
hm ok
And I’m aiming for cal so it works out
cal tech?
Ooh what major?
or like any uc colleges
Still trying to figure that out, but something in the fields of bio or chem
very nice
biochemistry
lol
is that the only one?
Yes lol I like bio chem but that’s generally a more research focused major
No
I really wanna go to duke
There’s UCLA, UCSB, UCSD, UC Merced, UCI, UC Davis, UC riverside, and I think that’s all? Not sure but I’m mainly aiming UC Berkeley and LA cause those are the top ones and then UC Davis and SB cause those ones are really good too
That’s cool! Our family friend got into duke but went to UC Berkeley
Can you answer this lol
Giving out my high school would be giving out the location I live lol
kk no problem
Not great on online platforms unless I know you personally
Yeah I really like UC Berkeley but the cost looks to much especially for me cause I’m out of state
That’s true, they’re all a lot more out of state
well ty for the advice
i have to work on nhd now
i procastinated for two weeks lmao
Oh I did NHD!
Lol gl
which option did you do
looks like a scam
🚩
Guys how do I know if I should take AP Physics 1? There are 2 options for physics, and idk what to pick. There is AP Physics and regular. What should I know before taking AP Physics?
do i need precal for ap physics 1?
check your school course catalog, I think it varies across districts but for me I do need it.
is ap lit an easy class?
