I mean, you like IP since you are good at it
you still have time to find new fields, i recommend learning more about programming besides your studies so you can increase your opportunities either way
but in studies i say take IP
more chances of not screwing up there
Ip,it (all are part of the computer)
Ok
okay
so take IP
he's got a good point
But less chance still
less chances of screwing up
not if you take other courses outside your studies, coz that would increase your chances in future. you could learn stuff like data analysis, software development, or sth like that. plus if you get to choose CS in uni you'll have a solid foundation and a chance to improve your skills
so it works out
yea and cs has a lot of demand
I can't choose cs because only science students can take that 🥲
Cs = computer science
it has nothing to do with chemicals and cells tho
?
yep
My country is very bad
yeah i'm starting to see that now
I have to do courses like bca (bachelor of computer application) in college
Ur right
For doing that
yeah that works, what do you learn under that
Everything
How to make software
Etc
then that means more opportunities
Coding
But sallery is very low in india
Yap
It has everything
can't you get remote jobs
I think so
What are they ?
you work from home
with clients online
Hmmm
in anywhere
Never headed but
Still
They are
Very less but still
In india computer programmers get less money
🥲
Only toppers of computer programmers get high money
So. Tell me what i do at 11
Maths or ip
Maths can be good
And can be bad also
Or ip that is medium
?
wait i thought you were great at ip
coz i was gonna recommend that
I mean ip will get decent job
Math is getting you a better job
Bro don't. Confuse
🥲
If i am medium at computer things I get medium salary
well if you were somewhere else i'd say ip but given your case better to take math ig, it's still possible to improve along the way, but you'd probably need a tutor to improve
If i am like a topper I get high money job
I got a tutor but still got 50
🥲
Idk
New kind of questions I was blank
And 🥲
Silly mistakes
My concept is weak from basic
have you tried asking them to start from there when helping you
In exam ?
no in tutoring
They told that is needed
Like formula
List of new questions
New concepts
And how to solve
Etc
But they never taught from the start because they thought that it is useless to teach from basics
Now tell
It's 3:44
Noe
I have to sleep also
@pearl light
my offer is still up
take ip but also learn programming stuff on the side so you can get yourself some online jobs
Where r u
Online jobs are not popular in india
that's not the thing, it's not Indian clients you're looking for, they could be int'l
But without a degree is it bad ?
So u mean i have to learn coding from now on
Some institutions hire people with no degree, but know how to program
Ok
you can get certified if you take certain courses, like free code camp or sth, and these are recognised even without a degree
if you want a promising earning then yes
Tell a degree that I can do along it
in free code camp?
Ok
Idk i
Am just new
And tell what kind of laptop it needs
Can a pottato laptop do this ?
you don't need a specific model, it's all online anyway and there's no os requirement (unless it's too old for some downloads)
You cand code in pretty much every device
what's that
It's medium but i forgot password
I mean bad laptop
it's either math or this, and it's obvious you wouldn't do too well in math
I can improve if i practice tho
you need an upgrade but nothing too fancy
Ok
I forgot password
Also 🥲
then go for it, it's up to you anyway, and besides at least you know sth in math compared to coding
well that complicates things
I will get it unlocked no worries
Tell naa
then choose
you have maths which you say you have issues with but can improve in
you have coding which you can manage but are new to
what do you feel you would do better in?
I have more interest in computer
But less options also
Maths more and less interest
Ip = 60 intrest
Maths = 40 intrest
Now tell
there's more than one field, i've been saying that, just learn about sth in coding and find yourself some online jobs
So no maths ?
Maths good in india
It is considered good in india
is maths good for you too?
Maths
I have intrest but I can't do
My basics is bad
now i'm the one confused
And the 11th class is very hard if i choose maths a
Broo tell I have sleep
It's 3:54
there's different levels of maths?
i told you but you won't pick
In my school
There is one kinx
There is one kind of maths in my school that is normal
That is very hard
Class 11 maths is very harder then class 10 maths
Now tell
In 10 I can't score good
Then i can hope good in much tougher
In ip I scored 88
That's was bad for me bcs i scored 90 + also
@sharp edge
Now tell
I have to sleep
🥲
it's not, it really isn't
?
i told you
take ip
and some coding courses
and problem solved
then don't ask me what you should do i've told you like 10 times already
There a chance that I can fail
Bro according to u what u suggest
then why are you insisting that you can improve
Bor bcs in class 10 I studing 12 hour + for exam daily
bruh you're just trolling atp
I got a hardworking mindset also
Bro bcs i asked from every one they gave the same answer
They are confused
Too
coz you keep changing your mind
one minute you say maths is bad
then you say why not maths
Bcs i know it can be cured 🥲
If i do more hardworki
Bro just tell
It's 4 now
No joke
THEN WHY DO YOU SAY YOU CAN CURE YOUR ISSUES?
If i scored less in class 10 how can I score good in class 11
Idk my mindset
My hardwork mindset said that
this is one thing
this is another thing
Yes
see who's the problem here?
then make a choice. work hard and improve, or stick to what you're good at and improve on that
But there is no time to waste
That's the thing i can't decide
i already told you like a thousand times how you could make it if you chose ip
But less corrier option
Is also a thing
How to cure that
🥲
Extra stuff
Where
linkedin, fiverr, upwork, solidgigs, there's more
It's not popular in India
it's not for an Indian audience for the hundredth time
if you can't take CS in uni then you can get certification courses in free code camp or sololearn
and you can still get jobs from this
plus recommendations from ppl help you get noticed by clients
Starting salary ?
For eg
this is for extra earning if ip doesn't work out
Oh
so, have you decided
Ok i will tell the principal to give ip not maths
Bcs i will take risk to get
Job in less opportunities
Is it possible?
@sharp edge
ofc it is, unless you want to take the other risk of a subject you're not too good in but can improve
choice is yours
coz if you do improve then more opportunities
Both are usee less
but that;s an if
Lol
you just said math has more chances
I think let's be labour 💀
@sharp edge
Now tell
In conclusion final answer
It's 4:10 already
🥲
I have to sleep
answer me directly on this one coz you're confusing me now
do you believe your tutor can help you improve in time to pass 11th?
I can pass but passing marks is bad
In it I can be a topper by studying 1 day before exam
I scored 88 by just studying 1 day only
💀
then take ip and just rack up more computer skills outside class
Only 12+ hour
Where i can get that's a problem with a degree thats more problem
Hmmm
Battery almost 0
🥲
courses: free code camp or sololearn
online jobs: solidgigs, upwork, fiverr, linkedin, recommendations from ppl, online portfolio with contact page
🥱
Ok i take ip
If u suggest
hmm 👌
damn
@sharp edge online ?
what?
Just asking
yeah i'm here....
guess you feel good about it then
wave tshirt thumb.... ok...
I feel normal but I regret that I can fix that
fix what?
bruh you said it yourself, time wouldn't have been enough
and anyway you were worried you'd fail anyway so there's no way you could have chosen it and slept well at night
lol
I sleep only 4 hours
😅
I sleep only 3 hours during maths exam
Maths give me too much load
I cant sleep well
you're actually gonna end yourself with this
My mental health got ...
Ya that's why I am happy that I don't have to do this again
see, good choice
do you have school today or anything
But that struggle kind of fun
I just went and said then I just bought a uniform and from tomorrow I have to go
Daily
🗿 ok buddy
then get some sleep today
and not 4hrs
my schedule is so dookie i have my three hardest classes before lunch for both semesters
and then after lunch i have my easy class for each semester
Can anyone tell me how many aps I should take in total for freshman and sophomore years? (Or how many yall took)
most people have 0-1 for freshman if that helps idk abt sophmore
but i am taking 3 aps for my freshman year
Which ones?
U guys can take APs in freshman year!?!
Pretty sure none.
Lmao fr.
Bro I tried but the school told me no 😭😭

7 total

💀 I can’t even do that many
😭
U being Fr? 😭
Did u do that

yuh
Bro which ones 💀
geo, bio and csp as a freshman
Bio is kinda crazy.
Yeah bru
I planning on doing ap geo freshman and ap precal ushist cs
So 4 in total
But 6 if I do my accelerations properly
bio was lowk easy
what grade are u in bro😭😭
Why is everyone allowed to do APs in 9th 😭
Going into 9th right.
going into 9th?
Yes
you aji?
Same.
No I meant I’m taking some of them in 10th too
I’m cooked.
going into 11th
Bro I’m not a demon 💀

in the usa?
or around the world
if usa prob harvard or stanford
johns hopkins
downnn in ohiooo
💀
For football yes
!!
I’m a football player so
What abt wrestling
I honestly don’t know
I’ve never had any friends wrestle in college
But I’ve had ton play college fb
Was their wrestling team good tho
I already have 2 offers and im a freshmen
It was alright
Nice
But mainly it’s about making names in clubs
Do they have navy rotc
Idk
I got Stephen f Austin university (d1 fcs) and northeastern university (d2)
Hello guys 🤠, I need help choosing between two university degrees, one is physics and the other is Mining and Metallurgical Engineering, I have seen the courses in both schools and their prospects but I don't know which one to choose, any advice?
Which do you want to do, which has better hours and workload, which pays more?
the metallurgical engineering degree will get me straight into a job right after graduation but limits me to areas like photonics, astrophysics, nuclear physics etc
fields which physics would open to me. The problem is that I don't know what exactly I want to do yet (and my one choice is very specific). In terms of money and time, I don't know for sure which will bring me more money, but for physics I will definitely need to do a master's degree
Also, it is difficult to know the working conditions of the two professions but I am trying to get in touch with some students from each school
Physics prolly, you can do alot with it
you can branch your degree in it into almost anything
the metallurgical areas jobs are sick you should see if you really like one it might be better than physics
I’m thinking about dropping orchestra classes in favor of a study hall period and joining a county youth orchestra instead. What do you guys think of this idea
If you believe the study hall will help your worth ethic do it
But be warned a lot of study halls are pretty distracting, and a lot of times people don’t even do work
I would audition for the orchestra before submitting your class schedule if possible!
real
astrophysics
is cool
college offers?
me THREE
My mom (an AP bio teacher) recommends Campbell as a textbook to use
But they are all pretty good
Its not really like one classroom with others but basically you have no assigned class so you’re free to roam
its called study hall but its rlly just a free period
ask your mom, what ap exam review book i should use
such as barrons, princeotn rewview, etc/
lucky
Ahh I mean how would you use that time?
I want tech careers that are creative ,unique and inversting without math required anyone have some
Should I switch out Phy1 for PhyC Mechanics bc I heard it’s a lot easier as PhyC doesn’t have any conceptualization and relies more on plug and chug but I haven’t taken Calculus yet (I’ll be taking AB in the same year though as Physics)
Hey! Samee
wbu?
8th grade in Australia
USA
aight
Do you mean a 99+ atar to get into potential med courses?
She said barrons
real
Yeah
@sharp edge brooo remember our topic
yeah, did sth happen
technically, yes
u have to take phys 1 before c bud
wdym u have to take phys 1 before c
Help post
I need advice on the courses I should take for top-tier unis as an Alevel student ). I am currently starting AS. I have got a lot on my plate since I am doing some really good(profile-matching ECs) and SATs and I intend to apply to the top tier unis too.
As many know, AS and A2 are very hard, and I was thinking whether I could drop a subject- and make it three instead of four- I want to pursue a degree in biomedical eng, might even do molecular bio or a premed degree (you get the trend). Currently I have taken bio, Phy, chem, math- I am an AS Cambridge student. Please let me know if I can drop one, and which will be best, also let me know if dropping any would pose a significant threat on my applications( considering top-tiers). I intend to apply early next year though I graduate in 2026
Ya @sharp edge
what is it?
@zinc dock I’m interested in the stem cell research project.
phys 1 is a prereq to c
without phys 1, you can't take c
Depends on the school
Well in most schools
Regardless, physics C is a class in which you should already know some calculus and physics as you're taking it. Physics 1, on the other hand, requires only alg 2 and no prior physics knowledge.
It sets the base for physics 2 and c
wouldnt say most
depends on the country ig
In our country we dont need to take any prereq for any ap
except for calc
@sharp edge
Do you guys think taking 0 period and 2 sports is overwhelming
nah
im doing ME next year without taking 1
or any physics course for that matter
My school lets us go straight to C if we’re also enrolled in AP Calculus BC 🤷♂️
it's better to say it out instead of waiting for them to online
or if you want some privacy, move to DMs
keep pinging someone else doesn't do anything
Y’all
Would it be a good idea to take AP world history as a freshman next year?
well my school requires phys 1 idk it’s different for everyone i guess
i wasn't online last night, maybe just send it in dms, i'll check when i'm online again
if your study skills and literary analysis skills are strong then yeah
no just take the classes that you can. if you demonstrate high achievement by taking the hardest classes your school offers, colleges will know you tried your best
if you're super concerned about it you could always self study aps that you're interested in or whose curricula align with those you're learning in school
Hi
OKAY so if u hade 5 compulsory subects
1-Pak Studies
2-Urdu
3-Islamiat
4-eng
5-Math
Which optional subjects would you choose?
-Please people usually take up 8 subjects for igcse, but I am up for more if its beneficial.
-I want subjects which are in demand for foreign universities and all
-My field not so sure: prolly a criminal defence lawyer or cybersecurity, however my choices will change. Long story short I want money making fields and in demand ones.
-I want subjects which open most of the doors
Any suggestions??
Oh also I am done with grade 8 and starting IGCSE 1 in Aug
Rn I am considering
1-Pak Studies
2-Urdu
3-Islamiat
4-Eng
5-Math
6-Bio
7-Chem
8-Physics
9-Eng Lit( I have nooo idea about it)
10-Computer Science
11-Global Perspective( prolly as I dont have a teacher for it)
Also any suggestiosn for profile building????
my school doesn't have ap, should i self study and take the exam ?
Lmao
100%
what are some good courses that allow me to get a job in the future with a flexible schedule and enough money to support myself (say 70-100k a yr)
How hard is kinesiology, I'm thinking of taking it in grade 11 or 12. I think it would be useful bc I want to go into medical school. Would it be worth it??
Same we don't have 1 or 2
we dont even have 1 or 2 or E and M. just mechanics
That's sad
Ikr
how difficult is physics 1 because im taking it next year and im very interested in physics and math in general
Eng lit is kinda reading
Like why did the author say this
And yh id only take abt 8/9 courses
So i should stick to compulsory ones?
What are the compulsory ones
1-Pak Studies
2-Urdu
3-Islamiat
4-eng
5-Math
these are compulsory
and 4 optional which school offers and i have to take are these
BIO
CHEM
PHYSICS
COMOUTER SCIENCE
total 9
10 actually as I will take Eng lit prolly
maybe 11 as i might take Global Perspective if its avialable
I mean it’s good to get 99+ atar but you could also get in through direct if I’m right where u do the UCAT to get in.
Eng lit is meh
so what do u sugget
Wait ur thinking of barrister right?
wdym
oh for my field profession not sure, anuthing moneyyyyyy and on demand . rn i want all doors open
I would prob kept lit than
take up those extra subjects you are really interested in
if you are good at maths, take ad maths since it helps in A level (if you are planning to do it)
A level math good grade shines on your profile🤓
I'm an upcoming freshman In highschool, but I don't know which course to take on, we have these following courses:
health and life (medical course/track)
Computer science and engineering+architecture track/course.
Business administration course/track (In short terms, business.)
Religious studies.
at last, general science. (Biology, chemistry, physics, Etc.)
I know, the courses/tracks In my school suck, but these are the options for now, so I'm thinking about choosing the computer and engineering one, but I also feel like I want to enter architecture, but as well as computer science and general science, as I love programming, ai, and chemistry as well.
Health, CSP, chemistry are my recommendations
But chemistry is quite hard so if you want any easier science do biology
I found It particularly Pellicular that you listed CSP, Why CSP In particular?
I might go for chemistry then, I'll see further on the topic but why CSP?
Hello, can I explain about my situation and you guys help me with actionable steps I can towards choosing my major? Or is this the wrong place for it. Thanks!
what do you recommend me to take for AP courses/exams, If I want to take 8/9 of them?
I will most probably go for CSE/AI
but what AP exams should I take
CSP CSA Calc Stat
I will take CSP, CSA, Calculus AP, Statistics AP, AP English Language and Composition
most probably.
Nice
.
no this is the place, you can ask and wait for someone to help out
Ohh cool thanks
no prob
Is a political science major worth it
depends on the person
Hi! I'm a rising junior and my two options for science are either AP Chem or AP Physics C: Mechanics. I just took AP Bio this yr and took AP Physics 1 my freshman year (didn't do too well on the exam but got As in the class) and I was wondering, which class would be more useful considering that I will be applying to most schools as a poli sci major and will be taking 6 other aps (lang, world, calc bc, macro, micro, spanish lang)?
Doesn’t really make a difference for pol sci, I’d recommend mechanics since you already took physics 1, but it’s really up to personal preference for course content.
i am an international student, should i self study ap ?
how many i should pick to learn and what're them
For US schools you would if you have the time
yah, i'm going to apply for us schools
Depends on field of interest and the unis
here are the list of them: https://apstudents.collegeboard.org/courses
Explore all the AP courses and exams at a glance and in depth
I’ve done 15 aps, 9 classes and 14 exams, I don’t think self study is impossible but it does consume time if you are not taking the ap classes themselves.
is four too few?
Meh
Prolly 6 to 8 would be decent
Top schools are looking for over 9
wow, nevermind
i just have 1 year left to study
4 isn't matter though i am an international student?
Yeah they'll understand that you didn't have as many opportunities for it either so you're fine
even if you take a few aps as international and do well it looks good in itself
hey im a freshman in hs, any reccomendations of courses to take to build a pathway to get into a good CS college?
take a lot of computer science/math classes
any engineering classes they have as well
yup and if possible try to get a leadership position in a club related with cs
take cisco if you have it
what the haell i just choose 3 aps for 3/7 of my class for my freshman year am i cooked
what are the aps?
probably human geo computer science and something else
but the new freshmen are goated so it might be calculus lol
thanks
Guys I have a question so in Aeries it shows that I have met Math 1 Requirements and in 8th grade I took Algebra so does that mean I am in Math 2 in 9th
Is math 2 geometry?
Usually after algebra I it's geometry
np
Do we study number theory in Masters or Bachelors?
it's a mix of algebra, trig, and stats
Hi! Probably a wrong corner (trying at the 2nd one :)) )to ask BUT are there any law students in here? Could You tell why did You chose it, how is it going? How's your mental health? :))I'm a rising junior and thinking about it more than ever but I'm afraid about perspectives. Many people say that it is 'make it or break it' in this area, it's hard to reach anything unless You have connections and you'll just be another lawyer/attorney. 😔
if i take pre algebra 7th grade and algebra I in 8th grade, do i have to take algebra II in 9th?
Don’t you take geometry in 9th?
you most likely will since algebra II is the only option for the next level of maths in most schools
I taking geometry in 8th, but that because my middle school gave everyone a test to see id anyone could skip two years of math
but just math
Mine is Geometry. Is that weird? Mine is Pre Algebra -> Algebra 1 -> Geometry -> Algebra 2.
Same
i think it's pretty common to have that? ik a few schools that also work like that
I think I’m gonna regret doing 0 period again
i think im gonna take ap chem, ap bio, ap calculus AB, and ap physics 1. my dream school is ucla so is that enough??
and ap precalculus
over your WHOLE high school experience??
yes
should be if you have great ecs but try to add a couple
There's not more to add
Except if they somehow take AP physics C or smt in their freshman year
Looks fine for all high school years
take sem, capstone and like the literature classes can definitely be added
it's an extremely light schedule, u can finish that in 2 you shouldn't rlly spread that out over 4
Only like take AP Precalc only as a prereq to Calc
AP Precalc is nothing to brag abt
U should also take AP Calc BC or AP Physics Cs if your school offers it
Also wut is ur major?
You remind me of myself if I had a better schedule with AP classes I wanted to take
I got to take whatever I want bc I bullied my teachers into it, they hated me. like non of them will write me letters of rec, but idrc
I wanted to take AP Physics I, Chem II (prereq to AP Chem) and AP Chem
But they put the Chem II classes in the second semester
so i can't do this schedule
i choose to take Fin Lit and Weight training to knock out grad requirements
and I choose AP Music Theory since I like music and I had one credit slot left where none of the Physics or Chem classes were
very sad
😭
How does this look for senior year?
w or l classes
w
what’s the point of taking physics 1 if ur takin physics c
physics c usually gives college credit
physics 1 doesnt to most i think
not sure hto
Cuz i love physics
Got a problen?
A fair ammount of schools accept ap physics I, so I would say it's fine
That's just band
oh really? a few of my senior friends said their physics 1 class didnt count as physicscredit for them
then take both physics c’s…
some schools don't offer both
mine only has mech, not even 1
or em
W classes
How does the look
Maths aqa
Physics aqa
Further mathematics ocr mei
i just took precalc, and im taking ib applications 2 instead of AP calc. Should I take ap calc next year or take it after i complete IB apps 2?
my dream school is ucla, do i need to take ap calc and higher classes to get in?
Good luck with ap physics c
And how was ap lang
@full tinsel

is ap classes only usefull for the states?
oh damn, I got to skip all of that
Yeah 😢
Like over summer?
Or you just didn’t have to do it
that
I went from ap bio, to ap chem and now into ap physics me
lmaooo
I just bully my teachers smh, it works usually
I already sent like 10 emails to my counselors over summer 💀 they getting no breaks
lmao we counseler and wants me to call her by her first name type shit I talked to her sm during freshman year
you just badger them until they give up and let you do whatever
My counselor stopped responding to my emails after the 2nd one 😭
pls if someone now please tell me
wdym for the states?
Is this Good Freshman Year of High School:
Honors English 1

Ya I'm planning on being a director or acting teacher so that's what the theater and film classes are for
nice
like usa

Acting
Improv
Spanish 2
going to ap bio, then ap physics and ap chem for me
I dont get to take any AP’s except for AP world freshman
APs are internationally recognized
Should i do ap world next year or Tennis team instead?
honestly depends on your grade level & what you've done/plan on doing in hs
Im a rising sophomore
hmm
in my experience I'd say if you're gonna skip on doing ap world make sure you atleast do honors
from what ive seen ap's in any of the history's are usually marked as VERY hard for my school so just make sure you do your research beforehand
if anything take an ap in something else as a "equal" but make sure you don't overload yourself
of course
just use that same rule of thumb throughout high school because I did really easy classes (non ap/honors) freshman and sophomore year but STRUGGLED
when I did all honors in junior year it was very easy for me
so it all just depends on balance, what you think you can handle & what your passionate about
Hi everybody, I was just wondering how many courses it is possible to take as a freshman in Alberta Max because I want to go over the average amount (8) as much as possible without hampering my grades in order to effectively accumulate credits fast and not have to deal with them in later grades so that I can pursue what I want for the most part and focus on my grades or extra-curriculars and sports more.
i would just ask upperclassmen in you school cuz i have no clue what your school's curriculum is
Can freshman take AP’s
possible course selections for my sophomore year
at school, in person
- ap world history (yl)
- possibly ap chemistry, but i haven't take honors chemistry so we'll see (yl)
- english 2 honors (fall)
- maybe spanish 3 honors but I've heard bad things about the teacher (spring)
at school, online
- ap computer science A (yl)
community college (early dual enrollment)
- calculus 3 (fall)
- linear algebra (fall)
- general physics 1, equiv. AP Physics C Mech (fall)
- public speaking (fall, 12 weeks instead of 16)
- differential equations (fall)
- general physics 2, equiv. AP Physics C E&M (spring)
- possibly another class, either microecon, art apprecation, or introductory college english (spring)
i am 95% sure I may have to drop one of these courses (probably ap chem and just take honors chem)
any reccomendations is helpful
If I had to drop out of one, should I drop out of Cross Country or Honors English
Do you guys think this is a good 9th grade schedule or should I take harder classes when the school year starts.
What behavior is more sigma? getting a 5 on AP Test or getting perfect GPA in equivalent cc course?
You had my exact schedule, just take algebra 2 over summer if you want to get to higher math clas
Is an A and A + a 4.0 on an unweighted scale?
i think both i might be wrong tho
I've been really second-guessing myself on my course selection for my senior year & I wanted some advice on if this is "decent" because I found my junior year with 4/7 classes being honors very VERY easy, for some other context I have my college "check-list" is majorly completed so im not that worried about that part of it.
- Ap English Lit (Never done an AP class but I love reading/analyzing classical work)
- Ap Spanish Lang (I've done all 3 years before hand)
- Prob & Stats Honors
- Econ/Gov Honors (Split into half semesters)
- Forensic Science
- Fine Arts 1
- AICE Digital Media (technically the same as a UK: AS level)
All recommendations/suggestions are appreciated, many thanks <3
Hi what are the easiest cc classes to take lol? Thanks
Depends.
should probably do lang before lit because lit is rlly torturous work load
I was planning on it but they made it exclusive juniors
rip 😭
ik </3
thankfully i have loads of friends that did lang taking lit
so that'll be a bit of help
ok gl
tysmm
yes, but some colleges are going to specify that, if u got an a or a+
T20s?
iirc Stanford asks that
Honors bio
Fellow AuDHDers how do you deal with being under stimulated in class? I just take more classes but I need to relax.
depends on what?
phone
talkin to others around you
hey uhhhh general physics 1 is full at my CC should I go on the waitlist or plan to self study because the general physics 1 classes next semester start at 12:30PM latest which does not fit in with my scheduele
i would recommend taking ap stats instead. you seem qualified for the other 2 aps you’re taking, so stats will challenge you a bit.
I did that a lot last year and they made more restrictions this year because people would legitimately use photomath while sitting directly in front of the teachers desk. I talked through that class most the time and got an easy A. I had a 3.8 something (down from a 4.0) unweighted (over a 4.0 weighted). It was low because of my amnesia episodes. I’ll try though. I need to make more friends bc I don’t talk to many people.
that was lowk me but I talk to most ppl around me
I’m taking:
AP Lang
AP Stats
AP Chem
AP US Government
Astronomy (1 semester)
Abnormal Psychology Honors (1 semester)
Child Care Year 2 (A 2 class period class)
For self-study:
HUG
APES
AP Precalculus
i get bored wayyy to fast to pay attention in class. Without Twitter and Insta I would not survive school 100%
I’m diagnosed with 3 anxiety disorders including social anxiety
AO3 for me
Oh, then maybe not the talking to people. You can still try tho. You can try to slowly improve
Ap chem is easy, so is, stat, hug, apes, pre calc and gov
Idk about Lang I'm taking that next year
Chem at my school is hard because the teacher makes 0 sense a decent portion of the time.
astro and psych might be tho
Lmaoo same, I literally just watched yt videos the night b4 and i was fine
My teacher hated me, she bumped me down from an A to a C bc I skipped too much(deserved ngl) but the class itself is ez
AP Psych is a prerequisite for abnormal (same teacher) and I got a 5.
Astronomy is new this year but I had that teacher for bio freshman year and he’s a great teacher and grades really easy
still got the 5 and an A
GL
Psych is my special interest so I wasn’t surprised
I had her for honors Chem last year (a prerequisite for AP Chem at my school is honors Chem or Gen Ed Chem with her permission)
Ahh
I skipped chem honors
I went from middle school -> ap bio -> ap chem and now into physics me
You can’t take an AP until sophomore year at my school
I got a 4 on APUSH
Taking it this year
It’s light work if you just watch Heimler and Jocz
Ap lang
AP AB/BC/AP Stats
APES
AP Physics
AP Comp Sci
AP Seminar
AP US
Spanish 4 online
I don't really like Heimler
Hes alr
Heimler was the goat for me last year. My teacher legit assigned his videos as edpuzzles
Damn my ap world teach got a concussion half way thru and like went a little bit senile
we did like 3 days of review
ah okay!! thank you for the suggestion, i was honestly doubting if I was qualified for lit since I don't do well with essays but I do great with reading :)
it'll definitely challenge me but from what everybody is hinting at its a manageable schedule
I need some advice, I was in 8th grade now I’m going to 9th I wanted to take honors alg 1 but they don’t offer it at my school so I’m speaking with the math department about alg 1 and they said freshmen will take that class but then she added “did you study quadratics and radicals in 8th” and I said Yes because I thought I did but now I’m rethinking because that’s in alg 1 and I only have a tiny background with quadratics and radicals but now since I said yes to her question and quadratics and radicals are in alg 1 I think they will place me in geometry and idk if I’m ready for that but I also do what to be in a higher ranked course so idk if I should just take geometry if she places me in it or tell them to keep me in alg 1, please help what should I do 😭
Geometry is easy dw
There isn’t anything u need to know in alg 1
Based on my experience it takes like 2 weeks max to study the whole course
So it’s wouldn’t be a problem
okay tysm
Does anyone know if MIT values weighted gpa or unweighted gpa more over the other?
general rule of thumb is most colleges consider unweighted more important due to the inconsistencies with weighted gpa
i believe MIT is the same way but i might be mistaken
they consider your class rank
it can help your application
also is it mandatory to have 3 years of language in hs. im going into 11th grade and have taken two years but i j dont like wl so ive decided to go with a full STEM course loadout instead
what if the langualge level got up to 3
like i took spanish 1 freshman year, took a test to recieve spanish 2 credit, and j finished spanish 3 this year as well
i think that counts
i hope so lol i don't want to jeapordize any course requirements but j really would prefer taking physics c or robotics over spanish
I’m in 9th grade and I’m currently enrolled in honors geometry, however I want to challenge myself by just skipping to algebra 3-4. What things should I learn in the meanwhile and is this rational to do?
What's Physics in Grade 9 like?
it depends on your teacher bc i took physics in 9th grade and it was bad
it wasnt really hard though but we couldnt do alot of the "physics" stuff because none of us had took precalc or calculus yet
Thanks
yep
Geometry is the worst, if you can, skip it
I'm guessing algebra 3-4 is calc or precalc, start with precalc
incoming ninth or incoming tenth?
if ninth then you should skip geo but if in 10th skip alg 2
Yup
Is there anything important I should learn?
Which one
9th into 10th
Oh
Rising sophomore
Kk
ap or honors. if AP then take it as seriously as you can i took it too and its def possible to get a 5 but requires commitment on your part to understand and apply the stuff taught. if honors then its still a little trick but not as bad as AP physics 1, so take it srsly if you can
I'm prob gonna take AP physics and I do take it very seriously, thanks
good to know. for test prep i would reccomend 5 steps to 5 for practice tests and a lot of khan academy for conceptual understanding. pretty general advice ik but it worked wonders for me
That's super helpful, thanks, really appreciate it
yeah np
How lucky, taking calc at 9th grade, I took algebra 1 at 9th last year
How
in middle school, there's high school credit. in high school, there's ap courses and dual enrollment. what about in college? Can students in college take courses toward a masters degree too
Different curriculum, my school curriculum sucks, so I have to self study
Would Honors Bio Chem be taken seriously by college admissions people as a rigorous senior year science class? I am not a science person. I took bio freshman year, Chem sophomore year, and AP Envi sci Junior year
Hello you guys! I’ve been accepted for the International STEM Research Program by Incognito Blueprints. The program is completely online and its cost is $ 3500 USD + taxes.
Now since it’s not a university-acclaimed program or anything, I don’t trust it completely especially due to its high costs. Do y’all think I should go ahead with the program based on your knowledge/experience?
If I’m taking AP physics AP world AP CSP and AP Precalc do u think I could also manage AP stats
Is alg 2 in freshman good enough if I wanna be a robotics engineer at a prestigious school?
Yea, stats is super easy
it's just learning how to use your calculator 101
is says it has a 5.2% acceptance rate on their website. Dont know if this is entirely true
The prestigious ones usually have a lot of popularity among them, such as RISE, MITES, etc
I assume you're talking about the ISRP program
Hello does anyone have advice on how I can get into TJHSST
ps. don't mind the name
Im a teen
yes you'll take calc in 11th grade which you need
I'm starting high school in September in Canada and it's way different from the school I attended in Nigeria. According to them I'm going back to 11th grade. I'm confused about all the highschool subjects there and I need help in picking courses that I need to study computer science in university
What makes it confusing is that the subjects have numbers in front of them 💀
How far can khan academy get me on AP Chem?
not a lot
plz define "not a lot"
like will i be cooked
or will my score be, "I mean it's alright like"
its better than khan
i should khan academy's ap chem course as remedial chem as I enter Chem II (Idk why Chem II exists, Chem II is just AP Chem at my school minus a few topics)
chem II is a prereq at my school for AP Chem
yeah the basic remedial stuff from previous chem courses
questions- > khan, lessons --> preferably yt
Hi
honestly it might be more worthwhile for me to dump AP Chem, and do a Dual Enrollment math course, as i'm going into astrophysics
that too
they're not offering it senior year, and i maybe could take it at another school and transfer there for a semester
but that might fall apart so i should just do two Dual Enrollment Math Courses
and AP Physics I and Physics C senior year
should i self study AP Chemistry lol?
same for AP Physics I?
Chem might be a degree requirement so if you can get it outta the way in high school I think that’s better, so that you have space for actual astrophysics classes
Yes and the program is completely online and it’s duration is only 2-3 months. So a hefty amount of $3500 + taxes is quite unreasonable. Besides, it’s a program from an organization not some university, so credibility is a big factor that’s missing here.
Don’t focus on going into astrophysics in high school just learn the basic physics and specialize in college if you try learning astrophysics now you will be confused unless ur a math god
What do you guys think? I took Honors Geometry last school year and I am going into Algebra 2 but should I take Honors or AP Algebra 2
There’s an ap algebra 2?
There is no such thing as AP Algebra II
I think he might be talking about pre ap but idk
maybe pre ap
or ap precalc
i think the first two units of ap precalc are algebra II
Polynomial and Rational Functions
and then Exponential and Logarithmic Functions
Well he finished geometry so the next thing is algebra 2
What do you wanna major in ?
Sorry I checked and thete is not so never mind I thought yhere was
That’s literally what I said
if youre interested then yes
Is it doable to get a 5?
its doable for most people
they just dont put in the work
That's a great way to put it.
I took the class this year
you can pass that class with a 4 or a 5 without paying attention
very doable
what if you dont have a strong algebra 2 foundation
I mean it’s not like you missed your chance to
So if someone skips algebra 2 is it possible for them to have an a in ap precalc
And how easy/hard would it be
yes, 2 people in my school went from algebra 1 to ap precalculus and they said they had no troubles
Algebra 1??? Dang that’s a big jump
idk what scores they got on exam tho
we dont have geomtery and the next class wouldve been algebra 2 for them, but yeah i agree lol
Still the curriculum in alg 1 is basically basics for ap precalculus
Thanks!
hello guys I have been taking French for many years now and I am gonna go into AP French this year, but I always struggled with grammar and writing. Is it worth continuing French because I have like 3 other APs I will be doing and those ones may be time-consuming
its ap french language tho right? so shouldnt it be more speaking than writing but i havent took a language ap yet
and what other 3 aps if you dont mind me asking
Seminar, Bio, and Lang
but I will also be taking another biology class Molecular Biology Honors
yea my teacher is good but I feel like I've been declining in it in terms of grammar and stuff. I just don't get the time to practice anymore. I enjoy the subject, but I don't at the same time. Yk what I mean?
I enjoy Biology and I wanna challenge myself
i get you, i feel like if your up to it you should continue french you should and since you've taken it for years it should be an easy 5 but i dont want it to be too much for you
if you dont have time to practice the grammar though when will you be time to study for the class? especially with ap biology and lang + your other classes
nvm im not brightest so you'll still have to write frqs in french for the exam
Ah ok
Well i can lock in for the grind
Is that why AP Physics I scores are so low?
Cuz they think it's algebra so they get lazy with it?
Precalculus if I pass my acceleration exam but algebra 2 if I don’t (9th)
I took an accleration exam
yea, I skipped it and still got all A's
If i were to pursue bioengineering what classes would i take
Guy I need help I am a freshman this fall and I might have a free spot in my schedule have any recommendations for what to put there
AP Physics 1, 2, and C and APES and AP Bio
And AP Calculus and AP Statistics
hey so is it reasonable to take both AP CS A+ data structures and a online python CS course next year
the python course is a pre-req for a DE python course in sophmore year
I'm not sure about it because I don't have AP in my country, but I can help you with French !
what are ur choices
Guys I’m an IGCSE grad and going in for my IALs, but what I’ve heard is you need to take 5 subjects to get into a good university. The 5 subjects in question are the three science, mathematics and pure maths. I’m completely clueless as I have no elder siblings so some advice would be helpful. I’m worried about the workload on it
is organic chemistry doable over a 1-month semester period
Ok
you can dm me if you want
hi guys.....is there anyone currently studying or has studied in petroleum engineering or chemical engineering or electrical engineering???......I wanted to ask some question....
sure
