Ah yeah but I only have 2 days 😭
I’m just gonna put the date next to the word instead and memorize it like that
alralr if u insist
Hmmm ok maybe I could ask my junior friends if they know any seniors taking it so I could ask them about it
Yeah cuz I have to define the vocab still so I won’t have much time and I’m putting this into a website called knowt which is a feee Quizlet to do practice MCQs and flashcards
I’ve finished unit 1 so far and around halfway done with unit 2
Then I’ll study once I finish all 9 units and cram
I’m gonna lock in during school tomorrow carrying my computer around to make sure I waste no time in every class
I’ll also have my computer in my hands at lunch to work on it there as well
Nah I’m getting a 1
Bro cuz I actually got a 1 and 2 on ap human and ap world
During sophomore and freshman uear
Hopefully I do betyer
okok smartt
omg im taking ap world next year
Did u take ap world or ap hunan and get a high score
was the exam bad
Oh ok
no i havent taken any of those yet
Honestly I don’t think so but I could be wrong
Well I got a low score but that could be because I didn’t study or something
Ok
oh okokk
have u taken ap comp sci principals
Man always the smart people that are willing to study with me aren’t at my school
No
i have a exam for that next wed
loll
Nice is it an easy clas
Ah yeah that’s confusing
yeaa coding is confusing 😭
I took cybersecurity and had to google codes since it got confusing
It was pretty solid tho
wait whats ur gpa
I haven’t checked but I’d guess it’s a 3.8/3.7
broo coding << anything else
I need to ask my counselor for my trnascoprtn
oo thats rlyy good
transcript*
oo u should
u need it to apply to colleges i think yea
Yeah so basically I’m gonna prepare for apush first then ap lang then ap bio
Depends on which one
omg ure in ap bio too
im taking that next uear
Are you?
is it bad
Oh ok
pls be honest
Yes I’m suffering
OMG STOP
But it’s different for everyone
i took apes
just make sure you study well
Bro I’m taking ap env next year
OO
Is it easy? 😭
bro its SOSOSOSO EAST
It’s like oppposite day
EASY
really?
I searched online and it was talking about how it was hard
Do you know what it’s about
no definitely not
apes?
Yea
Do you have to write like paragraph long responses on frqs btw or just a sentence or two?
ecosystems, demographics, uhh like species and all those its rly not that bad
oh no
i wrote like 1-3 sentences
Oh ok so that doesn’t seem to bad
it rly wasnt
I’m haunt the same teacher I had for ap research and seminar in ap encironemtnal
and the math for apes wasnt bad at all too
3 years in a row kinda crazy
ask them for the recommendation letter 🙄
i would if i were u lol
Ap biology math is gonna milk your brain I think
And it also has graphing problems
Macromolecules, enzymes, genes, DNA, organelles, etc
There’s more to it
I can’t memorize all of it since there’s a bunch
And for the math there’s this thing called chi squares and simpsons index
There’s other things as well
The graphs are box plots or crater plots but there’s a grass with 2SEx bars
Error bar graphs
That might be easier if you just search up answrs
I think so I’m having difficulty though
I haven’t done well for tests since my teachers spam me with busy work causing me to sleep late and have no time to study
oo
Next year I’m doing better tho
As soon as next year starts I begin practicing for the exam and preparing for it little by little each day
And doing all my work in an even fashion
I’m gonna do mini study sessions next year in August during lunch or at home
what colleges are u thinking of applying to?
And I’ll try to engage and keep up with classes better hopefully if all goes to plan
Not sure but I am majoring in graphic design possibly
Maybe web development or ux ui designing
Belmont university is on my list so far
oo nice computers 😭😭
ive never heard of that gimme a sec
I’m getting many requests from colleges for admissions and scholarships tho
Only problem is I have no idea how those work and I might not have enough time to learn about it
yeahh they do that 😭
samee
Il probably learn about it during senior year tho
ima apply early to colleges
Cuz I have one year left until college
Gonna have to say goodbye to Hugh schoo
A bit sad honestly I might cry
ure not gonna apply early?
Idk cuz I’m not exactly sure yet which one ill@apply to
Belmont is on the list but there could be more opportunities out there
But it’s like outside of state so idk that kinda depends on what my parents feel
Like Syracuse university for example
I’m getting emails from them
Ight I gotta sleep
outside of states always cost so much 😭🙏
I’m going to prepare for apush and then ap lang and also talk about if I should take ap lit
Gn
okok have fun w all that 😭
It will be a nightmare
YEAH okokk byebyee
Is computer engineering worth it?
Is taking these classes in junior year a good idea?
AP Pre-calc
AP Lang
AP World
AP Chem
AP Psych
AP Mac (Semester-long)
AP Gov (Semester-long)
Ceramics and Sculptures 1 (Semester-long)
Ceramics and Sculptures 2 (Semester-long)
I'm taking Ceramics and Sculptures so that I can create an art portfolio and boost my chances at the T20s
are you trying to like
stay up every day until 2am
AP Pre-Calc seems pointless? I think most colleges would want a calc AP instead.
im sure they can do it if they have the motivation
you dont define them though lol
huh
you cant just say some kid can heathily manage 7 APs as lon gas "they have the motivation"
just cause you did 6
is this chat for like college courses or extra time in school?
no
its not what i meant lol
im saying
if the kid wants to take 7 APs
they are gonna need a lot of motivation
Hi
im taking 6 yes but I have seen ppl take 7 , 8, even 9
not tryna demotivate them
they can always drop afterwards
also pre calc does seem useless
dont take pre calc
@tiny lily
If you're sure you can take 7 APs healthily then go for it, but otherwise I'd suggest omitting some.
AP Pre-Calc is practically useless.
And I'm willing to say you can delay some of them for your senior year.
If you're also an art student, it'd probably be best to take an art AP, though I don't know which ones exist.
😭 WHY DID THEY EVEN MAKE IT A THINg
I mean, they might not be able to take calculus immediately? Though even then it'd be better to take honors precalc.
no ik that
Im saying why did collegeboard even make that desicion
that class is not a gpa booster if ur not good at math
precalc is harder than bc and ab
i mean it servers two purposes
- AP math for kids who aren't the best at math
- Sort of a "beginner" AP class (though by the time you reach pre-calc you've probably already taken an AP class before)
yeah
i still see no point bc ppl who arent good at math are not recoomended for that class
loll
tbf kids who aren't good at math are probs not taking the initiative to ask to be put into an AP math class lol
That's what I'm hearing at my school too, but it is a prerequisite for calc so cant really do much.
It would definitely be difficult, should I drop mac and gov?
Lmaooo
Definitely no but my gpa has been bad with my regular classes because of sucking teachers so just wanted to take as many aps with good teachers as possible.
Im taking other aps senior year
I dont want to take spanish 3 for my junior year cuz gosh i hate the life out of it. So its' either that, Ap mac and gov, an elective, or physics
as someone in college, get it done in highschool
it sucks having to take spanish
But it's not a requirement in college is it?
My gpa is getting shot at because of spanish and it's not gonna look good for T20s
100%
is
Gotta get a language and a lot of schools will let u out of it if you take it in highschool
Really sucks
yeah, my school says if you take up to a level 4 you can get out of it
will look into it, thanks
when should I apply to colleges? (im a junior)
2 years is usually the standard, but for more elite and prestigious universities you should aim for 3-4 years
fr
the pre calc class is harder then the ap exam
for some stupid reason
burn out speedrun
Is this good for my younger brother?(10th grade)
- Hon Soph Eng
- Hon Pre Calc
- Spanish III
- A.P. Bio
- A.P. World
- A.P. Comp Sci A
I told him to take normal chem before AP chem, but he says he doesn’t need to, what do u guys think abt it?
Oh my god hell no
Just take spanish III
Bro yes he does
he is NOT him

Yeah ik right lol
But I’ll not tell him

I told him so many times
But he says it’s alr
So I wanna see how it goes😙
I think it's great
All my friends took AP Chemistry in their sophomore year
Really?
Did they take normal chem before?
I mean I could've as well, but...I transferred in the middle of the school year, so that messed up all my plans lol
no
all freshmen at my school are required to take a general science class
i think its called integrated science or smth?
So that course probably included some basic chemistry right?
so now im gonna take ap physics and ap chem at the same time lol
Oh no
Good luck
yeah
i mainly blame my counselor tho
she saw that I was in the IB pathway and was taking pre-IB bio, so she was like "lets put this guy in regular biology"
even though it was obvious that an academic asset like me was going to take AP bio later in my secondary education
I am definitely taking all of the AP classes:
AP Macroeconomics
AP US History
AP Calculus AB
AP Physics 1
AP Chemistry
AP Lang
Spanish II
But I am worried about Spanish II
I know ivys need 4 years of foreign language, so should I take Spanish 1-4 and leave it? Or should I take AP Spanish? (Keep in mind my school requires you to take Spanish 1-4 to take AP Spanish)
Is taking AP computer science principals my sophomore year a bad choice?
Spanish II was easy
It’s not that hard at all
If you want to take it then it’s not a bad choice
If I am deciding between Pharmacy and Chemical Engineering, which two of the classes listed below would you recommend?
AP Biology
AP Physics II
Dual Enrollment Anatomy and Physiology
You should see those videos about the day in the life of those jobs then see what you like the most. But
AP biology might be your better path
Should I take ap bio and ap chem in the same year
Depends on your likings. I think AP Chem is really hard.
What course should I take? I really want to be a Doctor (Family Medicine Physician) what course should I take?
biology
Thx
you're going to die
dont bite more than what you can chew
its going to hurt you more than benefit yo
@heavy drum atio if you feel like you can handle that sort of courseload go for it. I'm doing physics 1 and bio (along with a few other aps) in the same year, and it's not too bad. I think chem and bio would be a harder combo though. what are you planning on taking outside of sciences? If the rest of your coursework is rigorous then you might want to consider splitting them across 2 years.
when should i apply to college?? (im a junior becoming a senior in august)
November - December this year
what courses shoud i take in grade 11 to enter a university (ideally waterloo) cs course
What would be another class to do? I plan to do two of those.
@barren chasm Depending on your senior courseload and how many/which schools you're interested in applying to, you can log into the CommonApp and start learning about which schools you're applying to as early as this summer. Idk I just know that a bunch of my due dates were in November, December, and January, which led to a lot of procrastination and such. Submitting college applications along with a heavy senior courseload can be difficult, so you might want to consider starting on your applications this summer.
Apush, ap lang
Trig
And other normal classes
For 9th grade, I have six course planned out English 9 Honors, Math 2 H, Biomed H, P.E, Global Studies/Health, and Spanish 1. For my seventh period I am planning on finishing the performing arts requirement and should I take Guitar
How can I take AP courses to earn credits beyond the traditional classroom setting? My school does not offer Calculus BC
Rip my school goes all the way to diff equation
Some organizations offer APs online
Depending on the AP u can also self study
But do they count as high school credit?
I want it for the class, not for the exam score
No I don't think so
oh dang thats much earlier than i thought
How can I self study APWH
Im a freshmen going in to 10th grade or sophomore. These are the classes I chose. Ignore the "prerequisites not met" it is a glitch and i have met them.
@barren chasm again it depends a lot on the classes you take as a senior and the colleges you plan to apply to. If you have a full rigorous schedule, or you're applying to UCs/schools with a low acceptance rate, it's better to start sooner rather than later. If you're taking a lighter courseload, or you're applying to a state school/community college, it's okay to wait a bit longer. Idk but I had a full schedule with APs and college courses, and that + scholarships + college apps REALLY sucked, especially in December and such.
You should be ready to submit them in November and December 🤔
hey, I am in grade 9 and in the IB syllabus where the choice I make next year pretty much decides my career but I am not sure what to choose. I need to choose 2 out of 3 sciences and 2 out of 5 arts (PHE, VA, Drama, Design and Music). Any advice on how to choose?
Do any of the courses pique your interest? I don't know a ton about IB
whats a good math course to take after ap calc bc?
@wanton stream multivariable or vector calculus is what I took after ab (my school doesn't have bc). with bc credit you'll probably get more out of it than i did
Fully depends on what u've got at ur school
so in my hs
well in the hs i will be going into
its not called actually calc bc
its just calc c/multi var calc
So is it even ap?
ah
yes
it counts for ap calc bc
youd take that ap exam for that class
if you've already done infinite series and matrix algebra, you can take differential equations, linear algebra, etc maybe? there's no ap exam for just calc 3
my options would be basically
Discrete Mathematics, Business Calculus, Linear Algebra or Differential Equations
Ok makes sense
What major do u wanna do btw
I don't have experience with linear algebra but I'd probably take that or diff eq. if you're interested in engineering. I know almost nothing about business calc or discrete math so idk
does anyone here have experience with gcse or igcse
i’m in year 9 rn (grade 8) and i just chose my gcses which are history, religious studies, french and drama
but i don’t know if they were good choices
as of right now I don't know
i see ok thx
yes
nah
just try to spread it out though
dont' be taking 6 aps in one year 💀
Is A levels global perspectives more highly valued while applying for colleges or A levels in critical thinking
What do you mean?
There are no good or bad choices, it all depends on your career and what you want really.
If I have to be honest both are kinda bad subjects
So if you want to be an engineer, computer science and ict would be more suited, however if you want to be an engineer and choose drama, then it's self explanatory.
Some unis/colleges specifically say they don't accept those
Yep
They won't take you anywhere so doesn't really matter lol
It's just wasting one subject slot
O levels? Are those a thing or did you mean A levels
Cause otherwise I have no idea what they are
Oh I didn't they were also called that
Tbh I have no specific tip
Other than the general
Slacking will cost you
Alr thanks
At my school where I did mine most people failed
nah man im taking it as an extra subject like as a fourth subject so im not wasting my subject slots😭 im confused bout which ones less useless lmfao
What do they even teach?
I'd say global perspective is more broad but harder than critical thinking (not like it's a objectively hard subject to begin with) so ig that
But remember that most places will completely disregard those subjects which might make your time and effort vane
global perspectives in a levels requires a shit ton of writing like around 10k words for the reports n shit and the theshold for that is higher too. I mean if both are uselss i thimk i should go for the easier one? what do u think
Yeah definitely if I had to pick one of those which I knew are likely to be ignored by most places I apply I'd go for the easy one so that I can have a higher chance of having solid grades in other subjects, you wouldn't want to put too much effort so that your other subjects suffer
Already having 4 subjects takes away lots of free periods
The last subject being the hard would be even more stressful and give you less time overall for studying
(lots of students regret picking 4 in their second year)
However you must remember that you can back out of any subject in case it was too much
Some schools might try to dissuade you but it is a option, just don't do it right before or during exam period
What do want to pursue later on?
should i self study calc bc if i have a strong understanding of ab
The.. credit?
No like if they don't have BC at their school 💀
Bruh
hello
🤔🤔
Will an anatomy college class be very difficult without ever taking biology (last time i did bio was 8th grade) or will I be able to survive? is bio something really needed?
nah you’ll be fine it might be challenging but definitely not very difficult
Depends on your school
Does the class go over basic required bio or does it expect bio knowledge
ty do u have any insight on physiology class as well?
oh yea i should prob check that ty
kinda i look class similar to A&P and its not that bad w/o knowing bio, but knowing it would definitely help but its not necessary
Again, it can vary a lot between schools 🤔
thats also very true but im speaking from my experience here
I'm curious about what classes I should do if I'm planning to attend or attempt to enroll in an Ivy school, these are my current classes: Honors Science, Honors U.S History, Health, Writing Strategies, Honors L.A, Spanish 1, Algebra 1 Honors, Band ( Geometry over Summer ). Any other advice, please?
Heyy!! Il going into 8th grade and need to pick subs for igcses. I had some questions regarding that.
- If I'm aiming for an ivy league university how many subs should I take?
- Suppose i hv quite a lot of subs so is it going to be ok to give them in two sittings?
- When it come to universities does the exam board u gave ur igcses from matter i.e. I'm from edexcel and I keep hearing ppl saying things like cambridge is more standard and it has a higher acceptance rate in uni compared to edexcel. So I'm considering if I should switch to cambridge or not.
Number of subjects doesn't matter
And board doesn't either
- If you take the normal amount of subjects and get good grades, you'll be fine, with high grades ECs and essays matter more for ivies.
- Yes they won't care, unless you do them in two schools, they only accept one school, but if it's two sittings through the same school it doesn't matter
- No
should i self study calc bc if i have a strong understanding of ab and my school doesnt offer bc
Yes
Ty veryy much
U rlly r the most helpful!!
Alr thanks
Hi anybody here doing a bsc nautical science course?
Should I self study apes and ap micro Econ for 10th grade
And take the ap precalc exam (im taking normal precalc)
AP precalc exam is useless
Noone cares about the credit
It's a waste of time
Just wanna take to boost cumulative ap exam score
Do you plan to take any elective APs
What
Who cares about that
Colleges definitely don't
Stats, seminar, world, and music theory are my chosen APs to take in school
Ok, intended major?
Idk maybe comp sci but I might change
I’m taking csp this year, school doesn’t offer csa
Then no, you alr have enough elective credits
Self study for that CSA exam if ur gonna
I wanna max out
CSP credit doesn't matter
Ik
Wait what were in the same grade what the hell
🤔
100 bucks ain’t that much tbh
If you're okay wasting 100 bucks, give me another 100 🤨
Nah
Yeah that's what I thought
Collegeboard definitely doesn't need ur 100 🤔
If u want academic validation, how many DE courses ru taking
Just 1 in 12th grade for mutlivar calc
DE is good but it’s just significantly more expensive than APs
Where ru taking the de 💀
Idk yet
Does ur school not allow u to do it at a cc
Bc it’s in 12th
Then why is it so expensive 🤔
And why can't I take some earlier 🤔
It’s like a few hundred to a thousand maybe
Do you see the reason why someone in the same grade can give you advice now
I don't think he sees it 🤔

@tepid fern
do i take any ap reach aheads for going into grade 10?
is self studying ap micro and macro worth it if im not planning to major in anything related to finance
my thinking is that it will look good on applications but idk if it really matters
Im planning on taking the following aps: world history, stats, apes, psych, lang, calc ab, calc bc, bio, chem, us history, lit, gov, and econ, what de classes should I take at my community college during summer?
as far as my friends who did AP macro and micro it didn’t give them an egde at all
omg this is literally me but like honestly if I dont get like 5s on them Ik its stupid to say but like I feel like there isnt any point but Im prob going to do these too
I’m not planning on taking any AP’s until my junior year because I am taking other classes that are prerequisites to classes that are good extracurriculars. Would this hurt my chances of getting into a school like USC? (Planning on taking 2-3 AP’s in total)
Oh hey water
yo
Hey people is AP World history hard? I’m thinking of taking it in sophomore year, but all my friends are telling me not to because it’s just not worth the college credit. Any thoughts?
hmm makes sense. thankyou sm for the help
Dude just take it lol
is taking 6 aps senior year too much?
ap physics 1, ap calc ab, ap csp(might drop this, alrdy took csa), ap psych, ap micro, ap latin
No this good just take something instead of ap csp
And do BC
Calc
like what?
i already exhausted my schools curriculum for cs except for ap csp
i might just completely drop it and work on an independent project with my teacher
bros gonna cook
let him take what he wants bro
💀
also u dont have to do calc bc
CSP is a free ap, take it
Unless it isn't at your school, make sure to ask
Well I’m just giving advice lol he doesn’t acc have to follow what I say lol
ok
If that's your attitude, don't even try 💀
womp womp
…
real
My friend was telling me I could skip alg 2 for precalc is it true?
Like would I have the knowledge to understand w/o alg 2
The comeback is real
Ik its a free ap, but im not interested at all in it. Ive heard its a joke. Im only considering taking it because i literally have no other options for cs 😔
I dont think thats true. I wouldn't try to skip classes just like that. I skipped 2 years of middle school (im a junior at 15) and i almost got fucked math wise and had to take courses over the summer to catch up
Take algebra 2 over the summer for credit. Check with your school if they offer that. If not, im sure you'll be able to arrange something with them
Junior at 15 is wild
hell no. You know you use to be able to go from Algebra 2 to Calculus…
Ap phys c
i think you'll be fine. however, i would try to take as many APs as possible that your school offers. you want to take more APs than others if you want to get into a competitive school and shows that you're able to handle college-level classes (that's what people have been telling me) 😊
taking 3 of those this year
Tysmmmm I’ll take note of that
if you want to get into a top school take as many as you can
everyone has a different situation
So having more passion for your extracurriculars instead of as many AP’s as possible?
both
showing depth in extracurriculars and rigorous courseload is a ticket to the top
2 for each year
Damn I ain’t doing 10 AP’s
your choice
i think thats good
👍
The easier AP’s are like psychology and apes?
i wouldn't say that
yes
Ohhh
it reflects on your transcript, at worst a B in an AP is better than an A in a regular class but a C is very harmful to a college app and a transcript
- class grades are dependent on the teacher as well
some teachers offer a ton of ec
while others make their tests insanely hard
mahad talked about his APs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFWVqxZe59A&t=565s

exam score is standardized
and is what really matters
if you choose to enroll in an ap
I know several people who pay the $100 exam fee, work hard all year, get lazy in april and don't do well on the exam
no point in taking the class if you're going to do that
15 years of work experience for an entry level job
12%
its slightly easier than harvard obviously
tier 1 being all the 5-8 percenters
i'm happy the sat requirement is returning
yeah
taking easy aps doesn't help much either
they know what the easy aps are
Film production
oh
Not really any ap’s to help 😭
and can see right through a portfolio loaded with ap world history, ap psych, ap comp sci principles, apes, etc
extracurriculars are good then
So then a good portfolio is much more important than taking more ap’s
junior?
Gotcha
its just different
for every person
Right
if it helps ik a senior who got into usc and he's taking ap calc his senior year
thans the only AP
but he's involved with the video production so extracurriculars are good
i want to major in applied mathematics and go into a stem field so i'm taking ap chemistry, physics c, calc bc, bio, etc to boost the application. for something like film production there aren't rlly many aps for that so in that case its way better to go deep into a few ec's
show impact
Kinda reminds me of a senior Ik that fits that exact description
oh lol
He always talks about how the video production teacher is always complaining
It’s so funny
u need alg 2 for pre calc
U dont have to take a history class in the future if u do good on the ap exam
do u think ppl take it cause they wanna be historians or some shit 😂
rarely
u need ur gen ed
💀
ok well then dont take it im just saying u can clear those credits
😂😂
Also taking apush shows u can take on challenges
and u can do well in various classes not just 1 or 2
But ur life is ur life do what u want
yeah it does
Apush is extremely rigorous
Bro what
💀
ok then dont take it
why u arguing😂
dont even mention it then
nah
u said it first
still first
😇
cool
Woah
True, one major flaw is that you have to pass ONE exam to get the credit, if you fail that no credit. Doesn't matter how well you did in the class, even if you had a 100 no credit and $-100
what do u guys think of this schedule going to sophmore year
ap world
spanish III
chemistry
honors algebra 2
marketing communications
honors soph english
ye honors chem is light and spanish
i knew like 0 spanish and still had a rlly good grade in the calss
Oh than its fine
Hi, I'm a sophomore and I wanted to ask for some admissions advice. You see, I want to be in the film industry as a career in the future, and currently I'm taking my first year of a digital video production class offered here at my school. I'm also currently taking Japanese 2, and they're both only one period. I've received news that both the video class and Japanese 3 are at the same period, which means I can't take both next year. I've already chosen the video class for now because it's what I want to do as a career later on, but I feel as though I don't want to abandon Japanese. Not that I want to improve my transcript, but that I enjoy the class and have a bond with it. It's challenging but I'm definitely engaged in the class. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy my video class too, but I hope you can see where my dilemma is now. So would you rather see that I had 3 years of being in my video class, or only one year in that class but 4 years in Japanese? Sorry for the long paragraph by the way.
My school does not offer AP Calc BC and AP Stats, both of which I believe are crucial to my success in the computer science major. What can I do now that I can't even get a math credit in my senior year? (I am taking AP Calc AB in my junior year, so there is no harder math class to take in my senior year)
I think I also fell behind compared to my friends in other schools, one of them is taking linear algebra right now and then complex analysis next year, while I just got to Calculus
Take an AP physics, there is required physics in most cs majors
Are they in feeders or smth 🤔
Just AP Physics 1? My friend is currently taking AP Physics C E/M? He told me there were two C branches
What is feeders
He told me that they bused him to the local high school to take pre-calc in eighth grade or something
He also told me he skipped Physics 1 and 2 and went straight to physics c
what should i do in the summer into 9th grade course wise
yeah take E&M
Not so much mechanics, though y ou could
What maths ru on
Yeah either feeder or that
ap physics c = hell
feeder schools suck bruh
take away from the more qualified
The fact that he skipped 1 and 2 😂
No, that's just an opportunity cost for you not attending
thanks for the economics reference 🤓
Anyone could have been in his position
He had a really good educational environment
智商很高

I am also Chinese 😂
不要说英文
We Chinese are supposed to be high IQ or our mothers will whip us 😭
If you don't speak English, how did u understand the emoji
I'm asian too and I am so
can i still get into competitive colleges if i take 2 years of 2 languages (2 years french and 2 years spanish)?
womp womp
like what
"Chinese test"
yap more
Yes
what tst
There's stuff that's way more
Veichals school and work
thanks! i got a C- in french 2 and i dont want to continue the language, but still want to fulfill the language requirement
Is it plausible that you are asian?!
Like 每天 公共汽车
nope middle eastern!
🤔🧐😞😔
Do DE courses usually boost high school GPAs?
It might work but you'd be unable to take the language ap so thats an opportunity cost
DE is usually taken the same as APs
5.0 wgpa
Alr
lol for vocab tests i just wing it
isnt middle east southwestern Asia?
the college i want to go to doesn’t require any foreign language credits at least for engineering
its still better
kinda pointless to take an ap for no credit im only doing the 2 years of 2 languages for an honors diploma
then just dont take the ap
Weighted gpa
yea thats what im doing lol
Do the course not the exam then
screw the course
i can take an extra ap math or science class instead
yea
Also lang credits can be used as general ed electives can't they
No
yes
Likei
@wraith scarab do calc and stats trust
If u took four years of the language
U could take an AP language course instead of the final one
im doing honors precalc/trig and ap stats next year
my school only offers ap spanish though, so its a little too late
Oh rip then
Very very hard
No but seriously, it depends between schools
my fault for choosing french
also depends if you would enjoy the class too
Our AP Music Theory teqcher is very chill
AP music theory the ap exam is probably crammable
But I'm probably gonna have to prep outside of schooltime
Then dew it
What 🤔
Yea it's on my schedule
Does ap music theory have practical music too 😭🤔
Ur parents are still forcing u to play piano
🪦
Not anyone
Then you enjoy it!?
Rip your unique identity
The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the singing portion, and the guess the note portion
Wait since when was singing a part of ap music theory
I’m taking it next year 💀🙏
geometry
ap hum geo
same shit
please help. really debating if i want to take AP lang next year or not, i like writing, but i hear its a lot too, and im wondering if its also good for SAT please? my other option would be to just take honors english since we don't have DE or AP (im going into my junior year next year!)
im taking:
Ap ab/bc calculus
Ap Statistics
Ap Physics 1
Dual Ushistory fisrst sem, second semester English
Dual Computer science 1301, second semester 1331
Band
am i cooked
do you have good time management and motivation?
do you tihnk you can handle it?
think*
no
im studing for all my ap tests the night before
i did precalc on monday
morning
hmmm
i am taking similar classes
next year
but this is just if i was in your shoes
i would get better time management
and you're gonna have to work
because sophmore year has already killed me enough
but now next year YAY
yay.
i mean im also doing some electives like art
to make me not too stressed
also since i like art
electives that genuinely interest you as hobbies and that will be good
im no professional though
just imo
if you can fit them
like some easy fun electives to balance things out
yeah
i really need answers pls y'all im begging. ;,)
yeah do it
if u good at lit rn and working skills u good
jus dont procrastinate
everything else in lang is light
its just that u gotta be able to yap a lot
we didn't get to take lit in 10th grade.. we only get academic and honors
and write an entrie essays in a short time
yeah thats whatvi ment
like literature
ok
or english
yeah then ur fine
when i took it last year it was a but hard but u get used tonit
WHA YOU GET TO TAKE IT AS A FRESHMAN?!
we can't take aps as freshman :((
freshmen*
atleast my school
no lmao
it was not recommended whatsoever
i took courses a year before like skipping a grade
but for lit
and took one over summer
dang
to teke ap lang
so cool
yeah very
im taking ab calc, DE ISR (independent science research, APUSH, and prob lang for my core classes
im scared
maybe i just gotta prep tho! :DDDD
lmao gl
you too!
you're doing wayyy harder stuff than i am
nah bru its p light
bro is a mathmatician
jus physics is gonna be hell ig
nah im not trynna be its jus easy for me sum times
true
it can be when you grasp concepts well
and how problems work
atleast for me thats how i can find math easy
when i understand
and can work it
into the problem
which i need to work on more
because stats and trig are kinda hard for me concept wise
...
yeah ti hate stats for sum reason
like geometric sequences are so annoying
yeah.
i hate them lol they are weird
and then i had to learn how to do sequences on a calculator and i got all mixed up ;,)
like i understood sequences at first
but then i just kind of fell off
lmao yeah i gotta lock in for calc ima grind them
me too fr
also i hear our calc teacher is bad
like she cries when people don't do the homework
and shes getting rid of the curve
if not most of it all of it
AP Lang vs AP Lit. Which should I take senior year next year?
I think AP lang would be more useful in the long run (if it’s a common one) but if you’re pursuing a career in English do AP Lit. Otherwise, just follow what your heart says my guy
oh hell nah calc with no curve
everyones getting a 30
fr like so scared
my alg ii trig and math analysis skills gotta be SOLID
but its more than that
Are they weighted similar?
Yes
What are the most important differences I should know about the two?
ap lit is considered to be harder
ap lit focuses on reading stuff more
altho it has quiet a big chunk of writing
And the test structure?
I’m only a sophomore, so I would ask either another senior here or your guidance counselor/teacher for that kind of information.
Lang fs

Are there any courses I should take b4 chem?
Guys help. Should I continue band or take AP Statistics next year as a sophomore. (I only need one more math credit to graduate, id be acquiring three math credits next yr if I take AP Statistics + in magnet school for entirety of hs)
stay in band, you can take stats whenever but it'll be hard to join back band after a year off
How many AP courses do yall think i could handle without having a mental breakdown as a sophomore
Three max imo
Chat should I take IB American History
so would APHG, AP Euro, and AP Chem be good?
Yep, but keep in mind that AP Euro and AP Chem are one of the harder APs
Well in my school we have to take a normal bio and chem class before we take AP Chem
Do that might help
So*
Im probably wrong but wouldn't it be a waste of time to take chem twice
Not rly, bc chem honors is basics and foundations and then AP Chem is building on it and going into deeper and harder topics
alr
AP European history
I am going to be a freshman in high school in August and I am taking an AP class.
Bro howw
It’s AP Comp Sci Principles
Well which one?
Ahh we aren't allowed to take that till sophomore
We can only take comp math
Upcoming 9th Grader, was wondering what AP classes, if any should I take. Planning on taking Spanish 1, if I follow the linear line I'll be taking Algebra 2 this year, along with World Geography, Biology, and Pre AP English 1, haven't decided on an elective yet, but taking Health and Proffessional Communications just to get my required out the way and have more room next year.
Any and all tips are welcome
ehats ap english 1
it looks good take aps based ok what u wanna mahor in
like if u goin in med plan on taking things like ap bio sum time in ur hs carrer
dont limit ur courses to only ur major
rho
if u doing cs get a jump on math and cs courses like ap csp or smth
i only know bout cs so i would recommend doing harder courses cause its getting rly competitive
yeah
I took basic computer principles this year but I do have an interest in it
Still trying to decide on my career but I know it will be related to aerospace
Been my dream for years and hoping to make it happen
me? yeah
thats good try exploring options
me for example i heard bout software dev and tried it for a year
that shi was ass
so i tried ai and rly liked it
so spend a year or less trying to exapnd ur knowledge on cs pathways outside of school
then in the next year do things liek robotics, tsa (drone comps), or model roketing competitions
also get into research projects as early as possible and send these emails to community colleges for s position in their labs or smth
Question for whoever sees this, is it possible to get a head start or even completely do an AP Class online besides the exam during the summer?
I took aphg first semester (had to drop due to a move) but it was really easy so if u want that much of an edge on everyone else i'd reccomend it one of the easier ap's
over 50% pass rate and that includes the people who don't know what they're doing so you'd probably find it easy
are calc ab and bc meant to be either/or or is it one or the other
Do any of you think that 4 Honors and an AP is a bit much for Freshman Year?
nah thats what i had
honors aren't noticably harder than regular classes imo
what AP are you planning to take
Comp Sci Principles
you take both
Some schools make you take ab before bc which is what I did and it works well but some people here also have just skipped straight to bc
AP Human Geography has the highest rate of 1s at ~30% as well
probably becasue of freshmans
just my theory tho
probably
BC is just AB but extra content.
2 additional units
if i did that Calculus would've been such a breeze
what APs would you guys recommend for self-studying?
u take either ab or bc, however if u take bc, ab is in bc, but bc has some topics that are a different ballgame
biology
Yeah but so many freshmen that have no idea what's going on take the class it barely counts
Should I take ap lit and if I do what year
Bio or comp sci P
Current sophomore going to junior year these are the classes I’m taking - AP Gov, AP Calc BC, AP Lang, AP CSA, AP Physics C Mechanics, and choir
I have one more class open what should I take?
I have already talked AP Stats and AP Chem this year
Multivariable
Have to take calc bc first
I recomend AP chem since its more usefull in more decgrees if your going into stem and it helps with other subjects since there is alot of overlap between the sciences and its exam is easier
while stats exam people stuggl with it more since the content is soo diffrent
look up the course content first on khan academy first and see if you are interested in the content
hey I'm trying to lay out the rest of my schedule so Ik what to expect and here's what I have so far, can yall tell me what to change and help fill in some blanks
9: H Bio, H World History, H Geom, English I, Band
10: H Chem, H Alg 2, H English II, Band, APHG, Fitness
11: AP Chem, AP Precalc, H English III, AP Euro, Band
12: AP Physics 1, AP Lit, APUSH, Band
I've got a lot of gaps and senior year looks a little much once there's 8 classes if anyone has any recommendations for the gaps and maybe swaps that'd be great
i would swap APHG with AP euro since there is more overlap with world history
what do you mean about the part in senoir year
Cuz APUSH and Lit are both hard classes and I assume physics is too, so adding 5 classes onto that would be interesting
Also I took a semester of APHG so Ik units 1-3 but I had to move over Christmas so I don't have the credit so I thought it'd be an easy A since Ik almost half of it
U could take AP Seminar
What's that
Chat next year, should I take IB Chem, IB English, IB American History, and Algebra II Honors? I can't take any AP until senior other than AP Lit
It's basically a writing course, u write research based essays (maybe reports), present ur idea/product
Do you guys recommend taking a study hall if your taking all AP classes
what else can you do
Sorry if my message was confusing I already took AP chem and AP stats this year
U could take a class related to ur major
Curently Im signed up for
AP physics,
AP Calc BC,
CCP english,
CCP psych,
PC council (no credits),
and a Career technical program (3 periods long)
im considering dropping the CTE to take 2 AP classes and a study hall
.
Do you think its beneficial in staying in a CTE that I probably wont use in the future when i could get more college credits. Im really torn between dropping it and not
Most of the class is just watching videos or doing nothing, theres no reason the class needs to be 3 periods long
guys
I am getting some certifications from it though, No idea if theyre worth it
is it better to take choir or ap seminar
I got OSHA-10 and a micro credential in clean room technologies
i think right now im going to choose seminar
can u help me
🗣️
also creepy pfp ngl
I mean, choir can be alot of fun but obviously AP seminar can be worth college credits
and now i cant find it anymore
trueeee
Research it, see if they are, if they're not id say drop it unless you just really like the class
Can you not do both?\
but im kinda scared because im taking a bunch of other classes
oof
same thing happened last year
i had to choose between choir and hug
and they freaking went to disneyland.
☹️
If i drop it do you think a study hall would be good?
also i have zero self control
drop what
my cte
Yeah maybe
The course is supposed to be about electronics robots programming, but we only did basic electronics the whole year
honestly the class is kind of a joke
yeah i'd drop it then
