but they do nothing with it
just make it
no campaigining, no products, no actual community service
or at most like cleaning up a beach with their friends
does ur passion project necessarily need to benefit others
Off topic but do colleges care if u get a congressional award
whats that
It’s like an award given by a congress member or smt
oh yeah thats significant
only award thats given out by congress
dont expect it to carry ur profile tho
Ok
essay is arguably the most important part
a lot of ppl do all these ecs and have good grades but have no personality
like yeah u can do all these volunteering stuff but w no purpose
just to do it to get into colleges
O
guys is mechatronics a good major?
Depends
on what?
Your passions, interests, career prospects
No I mean I’ve done the class, know the concepts, formulas, etc
Just need to put them to use and practice
Not starting with a blank slate
thats prob the best course to take in the summer
oh ok ty
i am a current 10th grader. My current unweighted gpa is a 4.0 and weighted gpa is 4.06. I would appreciate some feedback on my course selection for 11th grade(is it challenging enough for a top 100 school, are any of the classes really challenging etc.)
AP CALC AB
AP BIO
AP COMP SCI A
AP LANG
AP GOV
DIGITAL ELECTRONICS(WEIGHTED)
STUDY HALL
Calc BC
Defo really challenging
Same for bio
Definitely good enough for T100s
Even T20s I'd say, just in terms of coursework, but you need great ECs too
Definitely, Calc BC is tough
Yeah definitely for top 100 if you keep most of them A’s
is AP Chem and IB Chem SL rly similar
content wise
and AP Physics and IB Physics HL
It's a higher level of course offered in the us
If I get a score of 3-5 on the ap lang exam is it worth taking ap lit
If I get a 3-5 on both lit and lang do colleges only look at one or both
Should I also take ap env if I get a 3-5 on ap bio
If I get a 3-5 on ap env and ap bio do colleges look at one or both
AP euro im def taking cuz i got a 2 and 1 on ap world and ap human
And I’m doing apush rn so if I get a low score which is likely then ap euro is probably a good thing to take
Apush is even harder than euro
Well I’m doing apush rn since they didn’t give a choice for euro in my selection for 11th grade
ohh okay
bro if that isnt good enough for top 100s ima riot 💀
Guys, is 38 APs 5th grade year enough for Hustler’s University or do I need more?
i hope you're not a troll
How many ap’s r u doing next year
wow so realistic and needed
🤡
Prolly like 41
How prestigious is Hustler’s University?
Is it better than Ivy League?
Just a little bit of tomfoolery
Wow you have 41 periods
Yur periods are 35 minutes per day lol
😐😐😐😐
if you have the willpower anything is possible
i taught myself most of calc 1
before junior year
oh gj
For a school like UCSD engineering or computer science, would these Senior classes be good?
AP Calculus BC
AP Government
AP Computer Science A
AP Literature (not taking exam)
Principles of Engineering Honors
Beginning Concert Band
Dual Enrollment French (1st semester only, and basically like a 4th year of French for me)
Yo how are you allowed to not take the AP lit exam my school requires it if you take the fourse
course*
My school just allows you to take any AP class without the exam, I honestly thought that applied to all high schools
Where do you live
California
oh that’s probably why I’m in Tennessee
I still think that's a bit weird though
Unless your school has a strict policy that says so, you shouldn't get penalized for taking an AP Class without the test
Idk it might have something to do with college board I’m not sure why it’s rqyirwd
Either that or the school itself requires it
That's pretty good ye
my school (in upstate new york) also requires us to take ap exams, except for a few
Should I do IB diploma ? I am from a low income family does it help save money ?
Like going to an IB HS?
It can help save money, yeah
Cus u get college credit
should I do calc ab then bc or precal then bc?
if you're doing good at pre-calc and find math not too difficult, you can skip straight to BC
BC is only a few units ahead of AB
i want to take bc no matter what, but would ab prep me better or would precal prep me better
cause at my school, taking bc gives you like a math completion with honors award and it would be kinda nice to get it
ab
Has any one been to Arizona State University if so can you tell me if it’s a good collage. Mainly for there engineering programs
On Christmas Eve, Santa makes his way.

My school only allows us to take either AP human geography or AP computer science principals. I am planning on going into medicine so do you guys have any suggestions on which I should take?
compsci
If I had to choose between biology, literature and arts which one would be better?
CSP is a free class in most schools, by that I mean it's really easy to get a 5.0
Choose what you like
hey guys im a student in 12th grade from india planning to go abroad i am interested in coding and was thinking about considering about CSE for college degree but it has come to my attention that just a cs degree is losing its value due to ai and might be replaceable. what are courses i should consider for the ever changing job market (like cybersecurity or datascience)
AI can't replace a senior software engineer cus it cannot create new or more efficient algorithms
event stage no way
I have interest in data science, do you have any college suggestions for it?
Did you recommended me to take History Ap my sophomore year? (I hate history, I just want the credit)
if u wanna be a teacher, which course should you join?
A bachelor's in your subject area and a master's in education
Or a more specific teaching license and interning program after getting your bachelor's in the subject area
I want to go into Radiology, but I'm curious as to what I should major in? Biology is what is looking to be the best option
Are these courses good for sophomore yr? Pre-ap(honors) world history virtual summer, Eng 2 preap, chem preap, alg 2 preap, orchestra, Spanish 3, AP seminar, APCSA, and virtual preap psychology (or SS research methods) first semester and virtual AP psychology second semester
I'd assume pre-med.
but idk so get another person's opinion
idk too much abt med
tyy
r u taking world history and prep psych over the summer?
these courses are amazing! You’re so cool ❤️
I’m actually gohar’s virtual assistant and I approve sunchipzog
World history is virtual in the summer and both psychologies are virtual during the school year
Yay
oh then go for it if u hv the time
Alr
AP seminar in our school is hell tho
Damn
I think it was the teacher in my school who made the course tho 💀
That’s why it’s apparently rly hard
💀yea that’s every course
Even aphg is hell
oh 💀
good luck
Ty
English 🥯🥯🥯
Yea we love Mrs _____!
let them cook
Thoughts on AP Physics 1 and AP Precalculus? I will be taking those classes next year along with some other APs so I wanted to know if it would end up being hard juggling both
You should be fine depending on what you can handle, precalc isn't too demanding most of the time
pre calc is annoying asf
How so
how do people get higher then a 5.0 GPA
its scaled down eventually
their gpa weight is probably like
6 for AP
ru talking abt uw
an A in an AP is a 5.0
rly?
well yeah how else can u get a 5.0+
though it was the same htru all of a,merica
then how do people get above 5.0
ok
ok
so other school would do an A in an AP is a 6.0
sure thats possible
Aight lol
Should I take pre calculus and algebra 2 both next year my counselor said it’s rlly hard but people have tried
hey guys, is apush hard ? AP US History
yes
are you taking it ?
thats good tho
i wish my school have pre ap world
only ap world
Wdym 💀
Are you gonna take two math classes concurrently?
me personally
we have lecture
quizzes for each chapte
and for the tests
its 30 mcq + saq in a period
and a dbq in another period
however this is different for all schools
😢
generally it would be mcq + dbq or saq for tests
im taking 6 aps next yr (included apush too)
if u have ap world or euro itll be easier if they set u up well
nah : (
6 aps so light !!
ap chem, ap physic 1
Yes together
free!!!! definitely
idc tbh
i just ignore
good for you
whatever they say
👍
what are u taking rn aside apush ?
Chemistry
AP Psych
English 3 H
Chinese IB SL
APUSH
Business Mgmt IB SL
AP Pre calc
AP micro (outside)
why
i bet there's graphing
yeah??
no obvi not
2 math classes are always difficult
no matter what level
hmm it depends
no
i want to take more classes too
Imma just take Ap calc BC and Ap physics I don’t need algebra 2!
take multi and physics c
guaranteed F
Nah I’m like that
ok 💪
Imma be a photographer tho so it will help a lot I already have a good understanding!
Hey! I was wondering if this courseload is possible for sophomore year:
Multivariable Calculus
English II
AP World History
Honors Biology
AP Physics I
Latin II
Multivariable calculus is crazy
Bro took calculus in 9th
The workload is still manageable
But maybe honors english?
- guys i’m required to do a visual art for a year, but should i do it as early as i can?
which field of physics should I take for medicine? (Specifically radiology)
English II is the only option for us sophomores lol
Oh ok lol
I’m guessing you’re not planning to do anything related to art in the future? If so, it might be nice to do it first year of hs just to get it out of the way
Everything except for that it looks good
Kk thx
Ahhh
Ok
I’ll just do A period band in 10th grade
First year of hs isn’t supposed to be too stressful
Yeah i’m not taking any ap’s in 9th
Oh wait so you can’t take band and art at the same time?
Oof
That whole req of a visual art seems kinda stupid imo
Fair enough
Nah bc i don’t have time to do visual arts in 9th
I’ll just do it 10th
Oh ok
is doing 3+ years of foreign language worth it
cause im an all AP guy and im thinking of doing spanish 3 (ive already done 1+2) but it doesnt really fit into my schedule + i dont particularly like spanish
most colleges require some type of foreign language credit, so it is kinda necessary
but couple years should be fine
alr
yeah cause no one requires 4 minimum but 2 is common
3 is like that weird limbo spot where its like "is it really worth doing this"
i coincidentally had to take latin ever since 2nd grade
so by the time i was in high school, it was lightwork
no point to switch to another language when u learned latin for 6 years
I I I I I I I I I I I i
Am thinking abt lawyer
Law school
But like
What classes do I take
And like
Idk ehat type of lawyer thingy I would be good at
take some mock trial or speech n debate extracurricular
just understand law and how it works
law by mike and legal eagle are pretty good for law
on yt
I did that
But like there r different types of lawyers
Idk abt criminal lawyer or smth like that
The thought of protecting criminals is just not for me
oh yea civil v criminal
u could do civil cases
i suggest ap gov and rack up on all the scotus cases
most dont necessarly focus on criminal, mainly civil
I was thinking the lawyer that handles civil disputes and such
poor wording on my part
True
Ur good
hope this is the right question in the right area/channel but as a coming freshman into college as student majoring in health science should I be orientating my schedule in a certain way or dose any of that matter since I heard as a freshman when it comes to picking my schedule it’s as good as walking in the dark since we get last choice from what I heard
I heard that it’s best to orient your schedule based on ur sleep schedule and how much free time u want
Like if u love morning classes take 8am classes more
Sleep😂
What colleges have good programs for any of these?
Out of all of these, i am the most interested in photography, journalism, and music
photography is my top out of the though
im also very into fitness so probably nutrition too
damn that’s a lot
im very indecisive
out of all of them im most interested in the fitness ones like nutrition and dietetics
but i like photography ALOT too
photography and fitness are my 2 top things out of all of them
? AP Pre calculus BC, AP CS A, AP Bio, AP world history, AP seminar, APUSH, AP calc bc, AP econ, AP gov, AP stats, english 12 de, cs de, physics de
r these aps and dual enrollments good for a future cs major
Are u an eight grader bro

Don’t bite more than what you can chew
10 aps
jesus
take some off since you are coming in as freshman
Hi, I am a high school student in Georgia and looking to apply to the University of Georgia or Georgia Institute at Technology. I wanted to take dual enrollment courses over the summer and emailed my counselor with 5 courses I wanted to take.
My counselor said she will add them but advised me against doing it because colleges will look at it and assume I am playing a GPA game. Additionally she said that colleges are a business at the end of the day and if they see that I already have course credits then they will see I will finish college early and not spend as much money at their college and UGA and GT will reject me for taking all those courses.
I wanted to get advice on this and whether I should be taking 5 DE courses as additional courses over the summer. I took 4 last year.
Feel free to ping me to reply
10 aps total across tje span of 10 11 and 12 grade
my school doesn't let me take aps in freshman year
ohhh i see
can you separate them on what grade ur taking what aps?
yea sure
10th- ap pre calc bc, ap cs a, ap world, ap seminar
11th- ap calc bc, apush, ap econ, ap bio
12th- ap gov, ap stats, english dual enrollment, cs dual enrollment, physics dual enrollment
also i was wondering what else aps or what i should switch to be better for a cs major
I would suggest taking stats at 11th or 10th coz if u have 2 des esp physics, and ap gov u will have a hard time
so 5 aps in 11th?
i feel like that'll be too hard since i'll be preparing for my sat then too
Dw abt SAT its childs play and u will do fine, plus u can do it more than once, the aps u do in 12th cant be done again
I appreciate this, thanks for responding
Can you guys rate my nerdy homie’s schedule
I can't see it very clearly.
Let me take another pic
Is this better?
He’s not going to do french 5
Yup.
"childs play" - 💀
U can be brutally honest it’s not my schedule anyways lol
Pretty well rounded, not going to lie. If he needs further assistance, I would recommend reaching out to a school counselor or high school counselor if he's still in middle school.
Ok, thank you!
+He’s still an 8th grader
Of course.
It is tho is it not?
ur conformed to a server where ppl here are too egotistic about hard classes
jk but
its not easy
and its not hard
its definitely not childs play
dont let ppl misguide you
You set your own limits is what I would like to say
Hard or easy lies in ones perception
to me? Childs play
u cant use ur own perception when giving others advice
to others something unattainable
for this stuff
He can do it
not childs play
ur acting like a limiting reactant
womp womp huh
nvm
Reality means somebody here has a skill issue 💀
not u
ill leave
My school is forcing me to take AAC Psychology with AP Psychology
My original course selection was AP Psych with Health
Should I just take the two psychology's or remove ap psych and replace it with speech for instance. Or do you guys have any other rec's. It'll be my sophmore year
If psych isn’t your major or you don’t plan to go into the med field, or have any intention in counseling or psych careers skip psych
And do other shit u want or major related
im curious about those who majored in psych. what’s it like? is it hard to get in?
I mean, I plan to major in CS and do pre-med. Psych is a generally broad field which is why I wanted to take it.
But, idk if its worth with aac psych as well
What are some courses I should take over the summer?
8th grade summer I’m planning on getting a speech credit out of the way
Health and P.E.
Im planning on doing Athletics in high school so is there a point to PE? I’m also doing Health in 8th grade
Along with Spanish 2 and Geometry
Also another question for biology in 8th grade
My counselor told me that I would need to drop an elective to take biology since high school runs on A and B days and I would need to provide my own transport to and from the high school. He also said I could test out of Biology at the end of 8th grade which I do not want to do and he said he would look into the online Bio option in the high school but hes never seen it.
What should I do? Is it worth it?
(Sorry about the amount of questions)
Dm or @ me or else I don’t get the messages :3
Only if the credits are required, I'm surprised if they aren't
Hello everyone I was wondering if there were anyone who took IB classes but not diploma that got into Purdue this year, and if you did can you tell me what classes you took?
One fine art, 2 language, one health, one speech, and one PE credit is required but Athletics count as a PE Credit
I’ll be able to finish language, health, and speech requirements before high
This is a scam btw
I’m doing running start (Bellevue college) and I’ll be a senior next year, what courses should I take at my high school? I’m thinking of majoring in business or math or cs. I was debating whether to take AP statistics at high school and/or concert choir (I’ve taken this since sophomore year and I kinda enjoy it)? I can take up to 3 courses per quarter at Bellevue college as well.
ik this isnt helpful but plz tell me if u figure it out, im also considering running start there
oh u should definitely do running start it’s wonderful i have nothing but good things to say a bout it
It depends on what job you want. There are jobs that require a bachelors of those specific degrees. statistics can take you into data analysis(statistics for business) and scientific studies in different types of fields(Geology such as Geotechnical or Biology, biochemistry, any science related jobs). Cs (computer science) can get you into business(if you want to be a ceo) and data analytics, programming, A.I etc.) There is a course here in the country I’m in that combines Data Science and Computer science so there are a lot of Computer scientists that is also a Data Scientist/Analytics.
Would it be better for me to take College Precalculus at my local four-year or AP Precalculus (rising Junior)
Concert choir for me can be a side job, if you still like concert choir, you can figure it out on how to make it fit into your schedule. If you can manage your time to say the least
I’m not familiar on the US education system but this is my advice. Research the differences of the two in terms of opportunities and disadvantages. Because one may be a great opportunity than the other to you. Moreover, list down the Universities you want to study in as a college student in the future because there are requirements that must be met in order to get accepted.
if i'm planning on majoring in cs should i take ap bio or chem
ok but y
neither ngl they dont matter for Computer science..
but Chem would be more useful
alr
Just caught up on the conversation: this depends on various factors, including your academic goals, college plans, and learning preferences. If you share some things with me, I might be able to know a little bit about what I could suggest you do.
Help on my two questions please ❤️
What u wanna do?
Should I take AP Physics C or OnRamps Physics (which is basically dual credit from Univesity of Texas at Austin) if I am trying to major in Comp sci. both classes are weighted the same.
Also does anyone know anything I can do over the summer related to computer science that will help me get into an ivy league school?
Is it also okay if I took Comp sci 1 my freshmen year, didn’t take any comp sci classes my sophomore year, and then take comp sci 2 my junior year and comp sci 3 my senior year. do you think ivy league colleges would still accept that?
Wdym?
Like what do you want to do in the future?
Cuz it depends
Like if u wanna do cs do cs
If u wanna do math do math
If u don’t know take a random gen ed course
Economics and Finance
But the only reason I’m asking abt taking summer classes is if it’ll help me in his
Hs*
It will
Well college more importantly
Okk so do u have any like recommendation of Easy classes to take in summer?
Yes
Is money an issue?
Nope
Oop I tagged the wrong thing
I’m stupid 💀
Depends on how smart you are
Oh ok
When it comes to bio
Yeah ik
No
U thought that I thought u said that u stupid?
Okay take Arizona state courses online
I’m in Texas
Gives you college credit
Online
Oh wait you want to know if it helps in high school and not college
Yes
Like a high school course I shouldn’t waste my time on during the school that I can do in the summer
My pronouns 💀
Nvm lmao
Idk tbh never went to hs but try getting rid of art
Cuz that’s ez
Never went to hs???
See my introduction
U in 8th?
🧠
@empty pagoda what grade are you in
7th
So you are wanting to take a high school class in 7th grade?
um ok 😭😭
Yes, I’ve already taken 2 this year and am planning to take 3 in 8th grade
During school
What have you taken
Algebra l and Spanish l
Do algebra 2 and art
Next year I’m take Geometry, Spanish 2, and either Health or Bio
My advice
Do you have any plans on what you want to take? Do you have a list of options to choose from
I’m thinking abt taking a speech credit and health over 8th grade summer
You’re asking about this summer though right?
And u guys doing speech in HS?
Sad
That’s a good move. Health is extremely simple. Speech is always a great class to have as well
What 😭😭
Just get rid of the basic courses like art and humanities
U just said ur super smart 5 seconds ago
Time does stuff
Art? Im doing orchestra every year
So I don’t need art
Possibly. I’m not sure how it would be structured. I would wait for that course tbh
I thought HS requires drawing no?
No tg 💀
Yeah, probably smart since I’m going into BIM in college
Wouldn’t be smart to rush it
Bro we get it 😭😭
That’s true. You also get more out of in person classes
Basically take the courses that no one has a job in
Like history
Or some humanities stuff
Philosophy if you guys have it
Actually I have a job and my degree is in history
💀
I mean very unlikely to have a job in it
What’s ur job btw?
Teachers?
Oh nice
I’m a student teacher
Yeah that really all history majors can do
Not true
Maybe political stuff
Also can someone help me with this?
I’m not really sure what to do
Okay my advice can be relevant this time
Womp womp
Since you’re not interested in bio shove it out the way
Well I mean.. it would be during school
Unless you don’t think you can do it
Just take it and get it over with
Just work faster
Work faster?
What other jobs btw cuz I love history
Yes but would it be smart?
A joke try managing your time if you don’t cuz it will make a ton of room
For stuff
Also work faster
If you can
The only reason I want to take bio in 8th grade is bc I can focus on it
You can go into law school, work as a teacher/ professor, museum curator, historian, and I’m sure I’m missing a few
But it’s hard
I think
I would take it now
Well there aren’t that many people so not sure
Okay, Tysm!
It’s not that hard… it’s just hard to find a job in it
Have a nice day :3 @zinc schooner @vast marsh
I got the first two right didn’t think of museum tho
Wait I actually helped
Not a problem! Let me know if you have any other questions
Yeah that’s the thing
Same with math
That I disagree on
There’s tons of math professions
Ie applying stuff
But if you wanna do pure math
Then just professor
What do you consider pure math
Applied math is different
Not helping ppl with the math research you do
Lol
The way I phrase it
Ah
I mean engineering
Mathematician and just research math
"womp womp"
Ima try that too cuz I plan to double major in mechanical
basically like those 16th century mathematicians
Yes
I’m in 8th grade, thinking about going to Stanford for business major, what classes should I take for freshman year
both
should i go from taking all regular classes this year to taking all honors/AP if the regular classes are too easy? I do not want to be overwhelmed with too much word but also want to be challenged
This is what I took: English 9 Honors, Algebra 2 Honors, Principles of Biomed Honors, Spanish 1, P.E, Global Studies/Health, and another elective still not decided
Honors are advanced high school courses that cover the same material as regular classes, but at a faster pace and with more depth. Honors classes can help students develop critical thinking skills, a strong work ethic, and effective study habits. Some high schools also offer additional weighting for honors classes, which can boost a student's GPA.
They help you increase your gpa and colleges like Stanford love you are challenging with harder courses
they are same as regular class in terms of content, but you have to put more effort
guys which college is better for computer science /computer engineering Asu or Uic because i’m gotten offers from both of them
email your counselor or whoever did your scheduling if thats possible
When I go to high school or now?
probably now
Okay
ive changed my schedule for next year twice already
Ok
i love ur pfp
thanks!
Then you don’t like math
econ?
micro or macro
both are easy
Apparently macro is harder… i dont believe that tho
yes
my school combines macro and micro into one class
do you think its possible as a sophomore
i have other ap classes too
yes
Yes definitely
Spread out or this yr?
this yr
yeah
?
really
Yes
do study and work hard tho
yes for sure
i dont want u getting the wrong idea
I am planning to major in computer science/AI and want to go to an ivy league university or Stanford/MIT. Should I take an artificial intelligence/comp sci course from Stanford or Harvard? Which one would look better on my college application?
just do whichever is closer and cheaper lmao
neither will look better than the other
Class of 2028 and it is time to choose my first ever high school electives what should I choose?
just do one that sounds most interesting
i dont recommend taking electives only because your friends are taking them
you probably take electives based on what you might want to be after high school
ik ap cs p is a joke of a class but i can take it in my freshman year of highschool so should i? i plan on majoring in cs in college btw
take it it's worth it lmao
anyways new schedule
alr thx
Freshman year:
Honors Geometry
English I
Spanish II
Honors Chemistry
Honors World History
Orchestra
Sophomore year:
Algebra II
English II
AP Spanish
AP Computer Science Principles
Ap US History
Ap Chemistr
Junior Year:
Honors Pre-calc: Trigonometry
AP English Lang
Ap Physics I
AP Computer Science A
Health Studies and Financial Literacy
AP Us Government
Senior Year:
Ap Calculus bc
AP Literature
Honors Biology
Physical education
AP Statistics
AP Physics C: Mechanics
Only reason ppl take it is for the GPA boost
Personally, I would say to do it for the Tech credit, but it won’t help much in a CS Major
Classes like CS A are a lot better for this
bro for my school it counts as an elective credit 💀
but yea that's why i thought tbh, there's another cs class i can take instead which will prob be a lot more useful
What about IB Econ
I'm an incoming sophomore this September and I have the option to take a few APs (though sophomores in my school can only take 2). I have a choice of AP World History and AP Comp Sci Principles (my district has a 2-year cycle of ap comp sci that switches between Comp Sci A which is really advanced and principles which isn't so I got unlucky I guess.) I also have the chance to take both. What should I do?
Take both
ive never taken any APs (im a freshman), how much harder is it from a normal class?
ap=college level
so thats how much harder it is
but still considerably easy
up to u
What grade r u rn?
9th
thank you
👍
did you take aps as sophomore
whats sophmore in numbers?
10th
which ones? just wondering for future
oh thats nice
should i sacrifice lunch for an elective like comp sci
(im taking ap comp sci)
Currently taking apwh, I would say it’s only hard if you don’t like history that much AP comp sci principles is really the same thing as a beginners class as my teacher says
oh thanks
I would say try it out you don’t really have anything to lose by challenging yourself if you have the opportunity
i agree thanks for the wise words 🙏
Your welcome :)
Yo should I self study ap euro
What are some apps that are easy to self study
depends but ap psych or apcsp would be the easier ones
I’m taking ap psych in my senior year and ap csp next year as a sophomore
dont self study 😭
take de classes
💪
I scheduled an appointment with my guidance counselor for choosing my classes for senior year. Here are my choices
English: English 12, English 12 Honors, AP Eng Lang, AP Eng Lit
Science: Chemistry, Chemistry Honors, Physics
Math: AP Calc BC, AP Statistics, AP Comp Sci Principals
S.S: AP Government, Government and Economics, Government and Economics Honors
Language: AP Spanish Lang, AP Spanish Lit, AP Chinese
P.E: set, possibly with a semester of Health
S.L.C: Architecture
I want to major in mathematics/applied mathematics, my school allows 3 APs max/ 4 with permission from the principal. My school offers dual enrollment course (College now) that I can possibly sub for architecture. I am currently taking Spanish III as a junior.
I'm taking ap bio ap Lang and ap csp as a sophomore.
Also have an advanced math class that is the precursor to ap precalc
ap calc bc and ap stats would be most beneficial for your major
but to choose between the two
calc bc
maybe ap spanish lang or ap eng lang because colleges may have a general education requirement
depends where you want to go to
take the classes that would earn you credit for your desired major
AP Lang vs Lit based on difficulty, usefulness and weight
at my school there is no requirement to take one before the other
theres a difference between them in terms of what u analyze
if u favor poetry and that stuff take LIt
overall LIT is still harder
Not lit bro save yourself
take lang
ong
and a higher level of english
less popular with credit by examination though
oh
im good at reading i dont have the motivation to read more than a couple of pages
lmao i aint either dw
i lose track and get lost in the pages
i got around 85% percentile on psat reading
but theyre short stories as ap lit is full books which i am not good at
It can’t be that bad
What if I skip straight to Lit
sure if u have enough background
otherwise take lang first
idk why u would skip to lit
lord have mercy
My writing is more proficient than my reading
How do i categorize colleges between target reach and safety? Also what’s the best way to look for colleges
Based on acceptance rates?
You can look at local unis or college rankings or maybe collegevine
Okok thanks
based on how I see it:
safeties are schools you're 100% getting into (community colleges usually)
target are schools that you're might get into - good chance of you getting in, good chance of you getting rejected (maybe some state schools)
reach colleges are schools that you prob wont get into (ivies)
No 💀
Unless you have a 2.0 GPA and no extracurriculars you'll have more safeties than a CC
Targets are stuff that's easy to get into, depending on your stats, and that you would wanna go to
And reaches are T20s
safety=probably will get in usually a state school
target=would be content going to and you think you have a good chance at getting in
reach=college you could potentially land with enough luck but don't expect getting in
Alright, thanks for the help everyone
will colleges take credit for ap seminar test
safety- <75% in GPA & SAT/ACT
target/match- ~50% in GPA & SAT/ACT
reach- >25% in GPA & SAT/ACT
I also meant percentile not “%”
did someone reply to me last time
isn't that the same thing?
no
percent is a score like 93%
percentile is how many people you scored better than
oh
so maybe with that score you are in the 93rd percentile
i used the same number but it usually isnt
like you maybe score a 50% and are in the 20th percentile
should i go from all regular classes to all ap/honors next year if i have a 4.0 unweighted this semester
The harder the courses the better
I think Ivies and stuff prefer slightly worse grades but harder courses vs easier courses and better grades
harder courses demonstrate your ability to handle challenges
alright, i plan on taking honors precalc/trig, ap stat, apush, honors chem, regular english, and potentially retake french 2 if my principal allows it since i got a D in it freshman year and considering retaking it as a junior
not taking any electives so that might be easier
Hmm, that sounds good
lol yeah
is taking pre-calc over the summer to take AP Calc in sophomore year a good idea?
will colleges care?
Can you cover all of pre calc and understand in do well and everything in the span of summer break?
Even if you can, I'd still recommend you do like a year of calc in scohol
maybe not pre calc, but some calculus foundation would be better than jumping into, say, ap calc bc
wait, im definitely not skipping calc over summer
Yeah
do you mean pre-calc?
no
like if you can cover pre calc during summer, then go into calculus
taking ap calculus would definitely be easier in jr year
i definitely have the option of taking pre-calc over the summer
If you can handle that, then go for it
I have no idea if I can 😭
fail pre-calc?
if I do bad in pre-calc I can just drop the class as if I never took it
actually, my bigger worry is jumping to AP Calc. My Alg2 (who is also an AP Calc) teacher said that "6 weeks is not enough to cover all of pre-calc, which is important for AP Calc." Is this true? I dont have any clue of how hard AP Calc is
I'd look at some practice questions for AP calc, but honestly, I'd recommend doing one year of like solid learning of just normal calculus (and maybe pre calc in the summer)
That way you will have a better foundation for when you do take AP calc
oh wait, you were suggesting I do normal calc before AP
but is it not the same thing but less intense?
not normal calc but rather the fundamental concepts
Yeah
for math tho, i'd recommend asking around in #math-help , they have ppl who actually are good and have taken the subjects and exams and all that
oh, okay will try. and thank you for your help
Can someone help me decide on what class to pick between accounting or other classes like business management (high school)
Pre calc is NOT that important for calc
@solemn hamlet do yk about Masters Union?
i looked it up
Oo
Yeah.. a DU degree for undergrad
DU?
Thats 10% of the workload tho acc to them,
Delhi university
Wdym a DU degree then
How can a degree be of that type
DU is an abbreviation for delhi university
yes I know
My sister goes there
Wait really?
If they dont get an autonomous/university/deemed university tag by the UGC, the college would rather just give a delhi university degree and follow their syllabus
Idk how good delhi universitys course is but Mumbai University sucks
mmk
yeah, it's not the most up to date course in any way of the word
trust me, id know
they don't talk about anything related to technology or anything
I go to the top junior college for business (commerce), and its terrible
How does that stuff work for yall
what subjects are you taking
Business studies, accounting, mathematics, english and economics?
U can do 11th and 12th in a college if u want to.. works out cheaper cus the government pays for it also
so it's a college format?
Yes yes
mk so same thing but in a uni instead of an hs
moving to mumbai fr fr
Im trynna move to delhi bruv
mumbai is a better place to live
Dang
Better services, better environment
The slums here suck tho
The slums here suck more?
Slums in delhi?
Yeah?
Wait which area??
Do you plan to live in chanakyapuri?
that's NCT
Ahhh
besides the circled area there are slums basically everywhere
no
only that area
and noida and gurgaon are literally just cities
Fax
Prolly.. ive lived opposite the red fort for a year when i was 3.. dont remember much.. just that most of it was clean
Truee
time passes
cleanliness and the red fort..
Lol
Whyd u give the SAT btw?
like i said, the capital area
Ur prolly in 10th/11th
cus i wanna apply to american unis
im grinding ECs rn

how much do ur parents earn

unless ur parents are millionaires, it will not cost that
ok you'll prob need to pay like 80k for a bachelors at most
besides cost of living ofc
yeah, cost isnt the problem for american unis
Ill prolly grind internships
Totally
for that other school?
Nah if i wanna apply to the US..
no lmaO
Internships arent enough
at all
Yeahhh im screwed.. apart from french certification communication skills, some acting certifications, kumon (5 years ahead in math as of grade 8) and one internship
Hbu? Hows ur ECs?
yeah, uve got decimal chances
im 10th grade, prepping for IOQM and NSEB (Hoping to reach at least INO level), prepping for the national team debate qualifiers, doing some MUNs to get experience to ideally be able to delegate for prestigious ones next year or later this year, will apply for research programs later this year and next year, and am doing some independent research rn too
Have a science fair project in progress for IRIS too
Hoping to start a non profit but that'll come later
whats an IOQM?
and my spike is Coding and CS projects, not going very well rn
Qualifier for the Indian team for IMO
Ooh i did do MUNs.. didnt win any tho
Woahhh
how do u win an MUN
Like best delegate
Well, its the qualifier for the qualifier for the qualifier for the qualification camp
yeah, so didnt win any awards
i havent been putting enough effort into my MUNs
Oo
Imma pick that up.. theyre a lotta fun
Really fun manipulating people to take ur side. Usually jus
waa
oh
i thought u were talking about what i was saying
MUNs aren't erally manipulation
they're arguments
Thats why i didnt win any award
basically specialised debate
hey
If you had asked ur question instead of waiting for someone to respond, I could've answered by now

i cant tell if that's satire
bro would you rather take 500k in student debt or not go to CMU
not go to cmu??
easy lol
I would rather be 2 million in debt and go to Harvard

💯
altho if ur going to harvard and not getting aid, ur parents can pay off that aid in a hearbeat
Wait is it worth going to a more recognized university
for exapmle Like if University of Michigan is ranked 3rd and Princeton ranked 10
is it worth going to princeton or somethin?
well more ppl are going to know princeton than indiana wesleyan university even though wesleyan is a better liberal arts school
Is it worth it tho?
not about how many people for there for the major
if it's gonna help you get a better job
Also one thing that just blows my mind is how tf are there Remote jobs listed for engineers?
Only one that makes sense is archeture
all engineers need to do is CAD and the manufacturers will handle the rest
literally all we do in my intro to engineering class 😭
Hi I have a question, is there any value in the AP capstone diploma to colleges
