My Dad says I shouls give them a shot
Rlly
I should go to UT Austin
For 2 reasons
- In-N-out
- Buc-ees
ah
I LOVE BUCEES
never tried them
Warner Robins?
gas stations are big i heard
it's literally like a fever dream
Ye
they have good brisket
wth
I went to the bucees in St. Augustine
they got restaraunts in bucees now?
And Florence for a school field trip
it's not a gas station bro it's a sovereign state
they make brisket and fudge and stuff
jerky
And it changed ma life
REAL
Koulaches
they have bucees merch
when in the bible belt u r never that far from bucees merchandise
have u had the beaver nuggets
Nah
I should've got some
I have the banana puddinf
Key lime pie
Some fudge
Iced coffee
Korean BBq jerky
Brisket taco
Ye that's wut I got for both stops
should've tried the iced coffee
they're always like in the middle of nowhere
my nearest one is at least 2 1/2 hours away
bucees
Rockingham County or smth like that
what is a warner robin
Oh
Is business management or administration a good choice? Like, do I have a chance to get admitted to them in case it’s very competitive and pays off well for my future career?
For major?
I mean it ultimately depends on how u excel academically in that course
Is a religion grade counted towards my GPA (Does it affect college?)
For the most part, yes
mf
But ask your counselor to be sure
R the all the AP physics classes interesting
Hi hi so next year im gonna be in a hs that offers both ap and dual enrollmet, but dual classes only last for a semster while the ap classes is for the whole year
Should I take like 4 ap classes and the rest dual enrollment or should I do all dual enrollment
And then I just study the ap tests, or nah
Every class I should take in high school if I wanna do Cybersecurity that is not a AP class
Yeah so far I really like Ap Physics 1
Will I understand the concepts in it as a sophomore
Depends on the teacher
Im doing it rn online and its ok, you do need to study at least 30 mins a day, usually more but ye
Really depends on your school, how can we know what it offers 💀?
Name everything and I'll find out if any of them is offered
They be releasing the course selection stuff soon so either this week or next week or week after that I think?
Well I'm not even American
🤷
Ok I'll wait for an American then
Lemme know anytime if ur an American
need some career counselling, can i dm someone PLEASEEEE
american here
My DMs are open
U know of all courses I can take that helps with Cybersecurity?
uhhhh im sorry
Tbh in general, the only thing that'd matter would be the computer science, maths and English courses for comp science major, no?
Most colleges don't have that specific course requirements iirc, and that depends per college too
Just my general opinion, as I've said I'm not American, but I've done research into us Universities
THANKYOU SO MUCHHHHHHHHHH AAAAAAAAAAA
Oh ok yea a major in computer science with Cybersecurity or whatever it's called
CS1 Advanced
CS2
CS3
Artificial Intelligence
These are what my school offers
In non AP
hi is anyone online?
Im 14 graduating to high school soon is there anything I should know about course selection, clubs, or high school in general? i wanna pursue the career of programming, game development/computer science
wait might wanna ask this in #💡ㆍacademic-advice
Yea
Take CS1, AP CSP, AP CS A and other related courses throughout your high school career
Also participate in coding competitions and Hackathons maybe
Create a coding passion project that is new and beneficial (like an app)
my project is a game
im really knew to classes and taking stuff and all of that
*new
hhi people in a bit of a situation and could use some help with course selection and figuring out which colleges to app to if i can dm u pls lmk
I’m about to start my sophomore year and I’m wondering if I should take on ramps algebra 2 or AAC algebra 2 on ramps is like a AP weighted class but u get 10 extra points to ur final grade and u get a trans script at UT Austin, but it’s just alot of self teaching
If I take 3 IB classes but the rest of my advanced class are AP (junior + senior year), would that look weird to colleges on my transcript/overall application?
No
Would I have to justify it on my application somehow? Or would it just not have any impact on the impressions of my application?
It wouldn’t have impact
Got it, thanks for the help
on ramps would be more beneficial and algebra 2 is very easy if you find algebra 1 easy
hey i'm going into my freshman year and picking courses rn
Aight u need help?
My schedule rn is:
With what
Honors Freshman Eng (P)
Spanish II (P)
Honors Algebra II (P)
PE Course 1
Health Education (P)
Biology (P)
Ethnic Studies (P)
and Concert Band
Kinda struggled in algebra 1 at the beginning but I’ll just take on ramps if that’s the case
sorry the formatting is weird i copy pasted it
Yea I would suggest it
im just deciding whether i should apply for school leadership or do a CTE pathway instead of something else on my schedule
CTE meaning career technical education, or career specific courses
btw health and ethnic studies r both a semester long
both those and PE r required
What is school leadership at your school?
Like what do you do mainly
social media, planning school events, and then theres the ASB, so they take up roles like student body president, treasurer, secretary etc.
ive always kinda found it to be like a popularity contest of who gets in but
doesnt school leadership show comittment or something?
and do i continue band
Yeah that’s how it always is, but I think the CTE pathway would be a better thing to start with
Go band It’s really good on applacations
What pathways are available
i want to continue fs
intro to engineering, intro to bio med and some others
ill have to check
I’m im the engeneering pathway right now and I feel like it’s really fun but also really creative at the same time I’m not sure about intro to bio med If your more leaning into the engeneering field I would go for intro to engeneering if you wanna go into the more medicine side of things go for intro to bio med
i'm gonna learn python or javascript over the summer, but i don't think i want to become an engineer when i'm older
i'd love to learn more about well
everything
but that means i have to sacrifice periods
Well pick what suits you, what do you enjoy, what do you like doing in your free time
I would recommend if your leaning towards engineering focus on taking as many math courses as possible and try to take electives that give you experience in engineering
@rich raven Could I also get some help with my schedule?
Sure
Precalc
APUSH
Chemistry+
English 10
Spanish 2
Gym/digital photo2
Going into sophomore year this is what I have rn
Would it be better to take gym and a fine arts class later and take APstats next year instead
In my opinion I feel like you should just deal with the fine arts as soon as possible if your not in anything like band and orchestra
And take gym later
I already have half a credit for gym and fine art so I only need 1 semester of each and my jr and sr year schedules are hard so I feel like those classes would be a good break
Bc I don’t want to stack APcalcAB, AP Economics, and AP Physics with APstats
Then ig you could take gym and fine art sophomore year then
And u could focus more on the harder classes sr and junior year
ok so the course requests for my freshman year just released. Ignore Aud-Vid tech and Healt, those arent what im taking. other than that how does this look?
nice but ap gov is for senior year at my school
i think ur schedule seems fine
Geometry 1 & Hon. Geometry 2 (they split our math classes into semesters)
APWH
Chemistry
English 10
Spanish 3
Theater 1 (1 Sem)
Sports Skill and Fitness aka Regular Gym (1 Sem)
Healthy Living/Health (1 Sem/ Required)
International Relations (1 Sem)
Does this look good for Sophomore Year?
Should i take AP Physics for my junior year? Is it hard?
It depends on your priorities, do you want to take AP physics? Why? I think it’s kinda hard but if you stay on task and do all your work it’s feasible
I self-studied it last year - It really wasn't too bad.
Physics gets a bad rep because it's very different than what a lot of "brute-force" subjects are like Stats or Chem. Which is also why it's pass rate is extremely low
Part of it is memorizing formulas and using them, but understanding the concepts is what really makes or breaks your knowledge of the overall topic.
I highly recommend flipping physics on youtube and the princeton review "Cracking AP Physics 1" if you're able to afford it. If you do that on top of paying attention in class you'll do just fine
Is anyone taking the IB Diploma?
I'm in eighth grade and I have been recommended for AP Human Geography, Honors English, Honors Biology, and Geometry for freshman year. What should I do?
I'm in my DP year 1!
hows ap euro
what is bros name
mb
Do you have any advice on doubling on IB Bio HL and IB Chem HL? 💀
Here are the 3 schedules I'm considering Plus ecs
In terms of grades I have all 96 and above for the first semester of freshman year, I need to choose sophomore schedule soon so which of those 3 will be best for a physics major
A lot of people in my class are double-sciencing and taking both Bio and Chem HL.
It's definitely a combination with a lot of work. From what I know, Chem HL especially is pretty hard - so you'd want a good introductory course to have already taken.
I'm currently in Bio HL and Psych HL as my science courses. Bio really isn't too bad in my opinion, if you're interested in the subject, I would recommend going for it.
If you're someone who really likes science/STEM, you can definitely go for it. But it will be a lot of work and I'm sure the IAs are going to be difficult in DP year 2; but definitely possible if you can manage your time
o77, would you even recommend taking lets say 11th grade IB Bio HL and then IB Physics SL, then IB Bio HL 2 and IB Chem 1 (currently taking IB Chem SL 1 and have an A in the class)
Should I take AP statistics or pre calculus next year any recommendations, I struggled with algebra 2 last semester so not sure which would be best
AP maths
Ap science
Dash 1 Language arts
Dash 1 social studies
Options- we gotta choose options and number them from 1-8 here is what i took
Enterprise and innovation
Financial management
Marketing and management
Auto body and intro
General music
Sports performance
Electro technology
Aboriginal studies
Does this look good for my sophomore year or grade 10 if i wanna get into Ivy League universities or some of the best universities?
whats HL?
my guess is "honors level" or something like that
ah
essentially like IB?
a
its like 12:51 am here
can anyone suggest some good colleges for a b.arch degree in europe?
It stands for high level
Two year courses and arguably harder than APs - the exams span two days, etc.
?
Yeah, colleges just want you to take the toughest courses that you can
ong?
whats the difference between dual enrollment vs dual credit
What are good alternate courses for AP CSP?
do they account factors like school policy, having too many ECs to do a lot of APs etc.
Yea, they generally ask you and consider the maximum number of APs that your school allows, and ofc considering holistic admissions if you have great ECs than low APs even with school choice can be excused
Is 20 APs over high school too much?
If you can handle them, and not like at the brink of collapsing handle but having ECs and being fine with life handle, then they're fine, but yeah colleges probably won't mind if you took some non-ap classes
Im listing that with CSP because im on the CS path way, and im taking CS1 rn
Bro idk why, but when I plan out my highschool career im taking 18+ aps
I just want to take at minimum 10

My school doesn’t even have more than 10
how is that even possible
with required classes and everything
factoring if you have other activities too
My Freshman Schedule 🔥🔥
Algebra 2/Trig Advanced
Biology Advanced
Percussion Ensemble
Phys-Ed 1/Tech-Eng Seminar
Theology 1
Global Studies 1
English 1
Spanish 2
all as advanced as possible, besides elective because theres “advanced” electives just my choice
oh and on level spanish, theres no advanced its just 1-4 and spanish 2 is normal for freshman
so if you were above level you would be on 3 or 4 because of prior experience
no AP options, school doesn’t offer APHUG because its just that useless
Hey I liked ap hug ☹️
I'm taking 4.5 AP's sophmore year, 6 junior year, and 7 senior year, exlcluding summer courses
Tienes un gato?
4.5??
Yes
u can take as many as u want in freshman year but i took none
yes
No hablo Español
wtf i want that
I’m taking 5 in sophomore
lol
Taking no AP's rn, just advanced classes and im in algebra 2 as a freshman, i do bjj, chess club + TSA and competing in TSA rn
thats not much
It's a portuguese gato anyway
i got sports 3-5 robotics 5-7
im not saying its much
Well then u have no time to study 💀
7-10, car rides, my school has flex time, offseasons, weekends
what time does ur schools start
8:15
WTF i wake up at 5:45
8:30 WAKE UP
is insane
oh u have practice in the mornings
no
7:30 MB
bus at 6:35
thats like 7 hours and 45 minutes at most
i cant do anything about it
oh well
are u advanced in math btw
I try to go to bed at 9-10, and wake up at 6am and then get back home around 3
and I do bjj on fridays and saturdays
Bruh thats crazy my school only has ap cs and wh freshman year
My freshman schedule
- Honors Freshman Eng.
- Honors Algebra II.
- Biology.
- PE
- Health(sem)
- Ethnic Studies(sem)
- Japanese II
Does your school offer ap's?
what else should i take
APES is fine mainly
Should i take anything else?
Do you think you can handle chem and physics?
Uhhh
(if you have physics AP)
i know for sure i can do chem
idk about physics
i havent taken a physics calss before
ap chem is hardest ap
nah im pretty good at checm
or bio

have u done practice ap chem b4
look up previous tets and do sum problems
No but my teacher says she recommends students to take ap chem if they have at least a 85+ in honors
and i had like 95+ al year
bruh💀
dang
ap chem is crazy hard but do it if u wanna
Alr
Whats hard about it
we just took the moles test and the teacher was like its so hard
idk, i think it's the amount of things in the course and the memorization
but it's probably way more than that
Me?
yes
moles are the easiest part of ap chem 😭😭
Not in 9th
no in honors
But there’s like 26 or 28 in total
idk why she was sayin that
ok
looks good to me, but maybe the bio could be honors bio?
There’s no honors bio sadly 😦

I wish i survive
other than that it looks good!
you'll be fine
All the freshmans say they have a B or C
but like
Ok, I’ll hope it is
i gotta take it either way
Ok
APES is ez right
yes
yass
super ez
can u tell kme what else is hard or easy
yea
Can someone look at this?
not bad
heyo found my course selections which shall i take if i wanna do cybersecurity as my future career? (taking finacial literacy as thats required but what else?)
lemme know anytime
well what have you decided on yourself vs what you arent sure about
theres also computer information systems, computer engineering 1 and 2,
wdym by this?
Which options have you decided on yourself already
and
which are you unsure about
i've taken cybersecurity 1 and now taking 2, i've taken computer programming 1 and i think 2? or maybe it was just year 1 of computer science
anway im not sure on year 2 and 3 for computer programming, computer engineering 1 and 2, computer information systems
easy 👍
easier?
well maybe im not the right person to ask
i should be in calc ab / bc but I was lazy and didnt take pre calc over the summer
the class is pretty easy so far
i havent had to study anything
im not doing great not doing terrrible in alg 2 rn i have a 95 but usually its like 93 or 92
you should be fine
alr
hey, a rising junior here. Only have taken 1 ap so far in hs and was looking to possibly take ap lang but I just wanted to know if its worth the time or if it isn't as crazy hard as it seems for those that have taken it especially cuz i apparently would have a difficult teacher
not as hard as ap lit
you should be fine
ap pre calc is doable
how hard is ap lit
hardest reading aP
cause im in ap lang rn and gonna take ap lit next grade
If you're looking to skip into AP pre calc, i wouldnt say its worth it. you learn less in AP pre calc than in normal pre calc
I mean thats doable
all depends on the teacher tho
wdym normal pre calc
better not have a crappy teacher
i heard our teacher is pretty chill
this is true, im in ap pre calc rn and my teacher said normal pre calc covers more stuff
Its bc that course is designed for students that are maxing out at ap pre calc
nthing higher
Oh
ohhh
im doin calc ab next grade
that is applicable to ap calc ab correct?
yes pre calc is required
yes
algebra 1 --> Geometry --> pre calc --> calc
alg 2
yes
?
alg 2 is after geometry
why not aim for calc BC?
why AB?
there is also ap stats too which u can take instead of pre calc
Ill look into it
harder than AB
then ur gonna max out at pre calc?
no max out at ap calc ab
oh same
then senior take stats
for me I plan to do dual enroll
nice
or multivariable
and social studies
It is
A lot of majors require it
Even the ones you don’t think would need it
Like psychology, medicine, art…
it’s just good to learn how to read / do stats in the first place
Oui
definitely take it
yea
I liked AP stats
Unfortunately that wasn’t offered at my school
I took the social sciences AP’s I took were AP human geo , AP World Hist, AP US Hist, AP Gov, AP Macro Econ, and AP psych
i see you @vestal nimbus
i took a lot of ap social science classes
however the only one that was useful to me was ap gov

all the other ap credits for me was useless
Oh! I forgot abt that
Quick question, whats the best major for real estate? I'm stuck between economics, finance, and business administration
literally all of them seems like a good major for real estate
cant really differentiate
theyre all good
all of them are so similar yet so different
I think all of them are good, you get trained when you become a real estate agent anyway
nuh uh
i despise agents
"investor"
So it’s good to have a general understanding of the economy
Should i take ap us history next year( sophomore year) then just take ap gov and econ junior or take apeuro sophmore and apush junior
I guess economics would be a good major?
alr
buisness administration
.
Depends on your priorities
it depends on your schedule
and teachers
and priorities
Can i show you?
sure
I really liked AP bio but then again I’m a biology major lol
personally id go with buisness administration
I chose History 101, and a Dual Honors math class which is Trignometry and Algebra II
Your priorities like what field you want to go into / majors in mind / do you like the subject?
My school removed APUSH and AP Literature for some reason
but depends on the school and what their best programs are
I want to have some sort of Computer Science or programming major
alr bro, ima choose this
Oh I see, welcome to the server btw
but some ivies dont have business administration?
Thanks
This is what i got for sophmore year i still lf one more credit just confused in the history aspect
Should I stick with Physics?
right, depends whats offered
I think AP physics would be a better choice then
ah so second choice is going to be economics
thanks bud
gl bro
my school doesnt offer AP Physics 💀

keep up the grind
Normal physics is also fine
I see you have AP Chemistry I heard thats a super difficult class
Or Honors, whatever it is
AP chem was the bane of my existence
And I’m really good at chem
I hate chemistry so much, I get super lost because the teacher talks super quick
high school ap chems difficulty is overexaggerated imo
Have you taken chem yet? Or are you jumping straight into AP chem??
suicidal class in fact
If it’s the latter case then I would suggest taking HS chem first…
Ofc i’m in honors chem it’s a pre req lol
They’re… different subjects :?
Wdym overhyped
difficulty wise
ap
It depends on the school and curriculum
Does anyone have advice for choosing HL courses for the DP program (IB system, not AP/Honors classes)?
my hs chem was through th euniversity of washington, and some just regular hs classes were harder
for me, i can jump straight into ap chem next year, taking bio rn.
its like a 95% dropout rate. it started with 54 kids and only 5 remaining
I’m not too knowledgeable on it but I do know it (went to an IB school)
What do you need help with?
gl
bio is light
Lol
Haha
ap physics 1 > ap chem?
fs
Well I'm considering how many HL courses to take and how much it would affect acceptance to colleges. To ge tthe full IB diploma I need to take a minimum of 3 HL classes, but it is possible to take 4, although not recomended and usually teachers say it isnt worth it, but I can't find any info on if doing the extra course really affects acceptance to a good school?
ai
y’all didn’t answer my questions
Im in the same boat as you. Let me know if you find anything useful
what were they
^^^ ap euro or apush
lose lose situation
There’s a multitude of factors that go into increasing your acceptance rate
In this case, I would recommend for you to take 3HL courses and do well on them rather than overload yourself and take 4 then proceed to do subpar
3HL & A’s > 4 HL & not A’s
Thanks! that is what I assumed but I really wasn't sure.
If you think you can handle it then I will always encourage you to take more
just don’t bite off more than you can chew (like I did lol, 8 AP’s in one year)

Wait my friends says i should take apush sophmore and ap gov one semester and econ 2nd semester to satisfy my social studies credits
should i
thats smart
Looking back, if I spaced out my AP’s, I could have gotten a better score on them
So should i
Do it if you want to
Is ap euro hard
No not really
yap session
Yeah. I think I will continue to aim for 4 but be ready to drop one down to an SL. My school is a bit odd and doesnt have many options, and some of the options are a bit convoluted, so for example my 4th HL (that im considering but unsure) is HL Math, considered the hardest HL course in the IB, except my school has never offered it until this year, where a group of students including myself basically made an afterschool group to study the content in order to be able to take the class in senior year (as an actual class), so what I'm thinking right now is to continue with that and if it becomes to much I can drop it. One of the advantages for this is that its separate from school so it hasn't affected my grades, and I don't have to fully decide on my HL's until August next year....
This is a good plan

Good luck Glowface
👍
Is there any other college credit programs other than AP, IB, dual credit, and CLEP?
cihs
I’m trying to get accepted into CS/software engineering in Uni. I am currently applying for HS. Comp Sci and Robotics are in the same option. Can someone help me select what options are best for me? (I have to select 3)

Any suggestions
my guy, these photos are barely readable
lol mb
what do you like though?
Comp sci but im doing that for dual enrollment
then AP computer science, java, and robotics?
I just elective suggestions for second choice
Alr taking java and robotics this year
And im self studying ap csp next year
well i would suggest asking someone else for another perspective
np
Should I take apes or regular physio and anatomy next yr (senior yr)
wht ur major?
Bio related. I might need the gpa boost tho but apes isnt related to my major
And my mom keeps saying it's useless
oh AP is never useless
whats ur current gpa?
ye
Our honors courses aren't weighted at our school 🥲
lol same with us
do u think that will bring it up to a 4.0 or something
i mean apes is kinda related to bio, and its an ap so i would go with that
Ok ok thank u!
u might wanna ask others too
I just picked my junior year classes, how does this look:
American Literature Honors
Algebra II/Trigenometry Honors
History 101/102 (Dual Enrollment)
Chemistry
Drawing
AP Psychology
looks solid
If you have a little more in you I would reccomend taking advanced chem if your school offers it, but obviously not if that feels like too much
That looks good
I wish we did but our school is kinda small so it was either chem or physics
And if I want to pick an AP science senior year I need chem so yeah
y'all how hard is AP bio?
Does anyone know what general classes you would need to take in Year 11/12 in Australia to get into an aerospace engineering degree
YALL does anyone know if anatomy/physiology counts towards UC science requirements? pls lmk asap i gotta pick classes tommorow
also if you respond can you ping me
Also Software Engineering Degree
Should I take honor or regular geometry I currently have a A- the other point is usually mistakes
I haven’t asked my teacher recommendations
yall know how some schools have these insane docs explaining their whole course selection system and a disorganized sheet
schools should do it like this:
Lemme know anytime if and what I should do for the classes I'm not sure about
-Course selection sheet per grade, has each category then under the category classes with a checkbox (check = do that class)
Course description book: Starts with explaining some academic policy + graduation requirements, then lists classes (by category) with the class description and pre-reqs
Hey everyone this is what my schedule for next year (sophomore year) is looking like:
AP Precalculus
Spanish III
AP World History
Chamber Orchestra
STEM/Gifted Chemistry
10th Grade Comp/Lit
Scientific Research
In the future I want to become a computational neuroscientist. My heart says to keep with Spanish and orchestra until graduation, but my brain says to drop one of them for AP CSP.
I could either drop one or the other (not sure which one) or keep both. What would yall recommend. I’ll ask my counselor as well before finalizing anything.
Hi everyone this is my current schedule for sophomore year next year
Ap Chem
Ap Calc BC
Ap CSA
Orchestra
Hrs English 10
Ap or Hrs world history?
Spanish 3
I was wondering if I should take AP or Hrs world history and if I should replace orchestra with an engineering course -- they both hold the same weight. What would u recommend?
AP CSP is not as much useful as Spanish and orchestra
Because a lot of colleges don’t even accept the computer science principles credit
APCSA > APCSP
How hard is AP Physics 1?
Here’s the rest of my schedule for next year, would you recommend I take it?
English 3 (non honors)
Precalc H
Spanish 4H
APUSH
AP Gov
AP Econ
Orchestra
This is what my schedule for 7th grade looks like
7th grade math, First hour (51)
PE, Second hour (51)
Honors English, Third hour (51)
Lunch, Forth hour (30)
Honors history, Fifth hour (51)
Advisory (30)
Honors Science, Sixth hour (51)
Mini drama, Seventh hour (51)
This is what my schedule for 8th grade looks like
English 9 Honors
Math 2 Honors
Biology Honors
Spanish 1
Biomedical Sciences Honors
P.E
Global Studies/Health
Ap English
How much work is lang?
Available anytime today for an answer so from now at 10 10 am to 4 28 am tomorrow
I wnat to take ap calc AB next year for sophmore
however my school wouldnt let me bc they said taking 2 maths over the summer (algebra 2 and pre calc) isn't doable
what counter arguement can I come up against that?
I haven’t taken it but I’ve heard that it is useful and it is not as bad as lit
It’s way easier
You need algebra 2 to take pre cal
Try to learn algebra 2 to do a credit by exam to take precal
If you really desire it
Im taking algebra 2 over the summer
but they wont allow me to take pre calc too
double math
There is algebra 2 stuff in precal and you need to know that before hand
It is a prerequisite towards precal
That’s why
wanting to be a business major, do you think going into junior and senior year it is better to continue taking science and history for 4 years (APush, AP human geo, hon physics, AP chem) or swapping out human geo and AP chem (i already took hon chem this year) for AP stat and hon economics
is it ok i’m doubling science sophmore year, ap chem and apes i wanna take apes cuz i don’t think it’ll be that hard and itd just be a free ap am i right?
Answer above, this is my current schedule:
AP Pre Calc
AP Chem
APES
APush
English 2 Honors
Floral design
Life time wellness (PE)
yea but ap chem is the hardest ap in all of high school
Hi I'm in 8th grade about to go to high school so I just want to know whether an IB school is better or a magnet school is better because I got into both
Alr but how much hw will i get from apes and from my entire schedule?
yea its rough
depends on your school, but at mine the ap classes are project after project with a lot of hw
that's based on your skill level, but they're meant to be really challenging
this is what i’m taking sophmore year i got 3 free class
I have no clue
But it’s pretty easy from what I have heard
I've heard it's pretty easy
Alr
But you might gets lots of homework from calc and chem
dang

Subjective
Yea it could be
Is AP computer science principles hard?
classes for freshman
english 1 adv
geometry adv (plan on taking credit by exam so alegbra 2 ig)
biology adv
APUSH
band
spanish 2
soccer
APUSH?
ap us history
taking it right now
Ah
So I should take it?
i did use code.org and codehs so your mileage may vary
take it if you know little to nothing about computers or if you aren’t very logical
I learned c++ for like a year and took off school courses (On c++) does c++ help at all with the class?
but if you already have a good foundation you should prob take AP CSA
i did python and javascript, so i can’t vouch for how it’d go
Whats the class about anyway?
but knowing basic logical structures and frameworks would 100% help
the course is on a programming language of the teachers choice
along with how the internet works
I should read the class's description
"AP-Computer science is a college level computing course that introduces students to a blah blah blah" Theres no language here :/
APUSH in freshman is wild
How did you get a AP class in freshman year?
is that a no
I’m doing ap human geography
my hs lets us take it
Nah it’s just that usually apush is taken by juniors
lucky highschool
what schools do yall go to 😭 My school only allows AP classes in sophmore year minimum
im scared-
thats kinda wild
woah
Im still here tryna learn alg 1
my alegbra teacher is so bad like i have to teach myself
yall schools offer ap classes? lmao
My algebra teacher is good but I dont get the subject 😭
Yours dosent?
australian lmfao
your school offers like none?
I wana get into MIT but with me only going into Geo (Normal not advanced) im not gonna get accepted*
idk if colleges would like that..
whats up with that anyway?
i dont undertsand the obsession with ivy's
like does it really matter after like 5 years?
i think its just more of rep
theyre overrated
whenever your applying for jobs, which are getting more and more competitive, they usually choose the best applicants
ivy leagues are extremely hard to get into
yeah but is the rep that good?
If your an employer and you have 2 employees one who student went into MIT and the other went into the university of illionois
dedicated to them..
who u gonna choose
don'temployers care more about experience though?
Im not making it into MIT at all tho
Sorta
:-: its true tho
"true tho" your basing the fact that you wont get into MIT because your taking alg 1 in 8th grade..
the regular start up for alg 1 is 9th
so your basically a year ahead
doesnt matter if u dont get it
just keep trying
Yea but people who apply to MIT are people like my nerd friend who finished PRE CALC in 8th grade
how tf do i even compare to that
i dont think thats even possible
wait
where are u
US?
yes
i guess just different school systems
He finished algebra one in 5th grade :-:
but why compare yourself to others?
just work towards yourself
by comparing yourself to others that creates doubt
ikr its dogshit
essentially means im fucked if i wanna go to an ivy league or sum shit
even if he took better math than u
that doesnt define if you're gonna get into MIT or not
atp youd have a better chance if you were online or homeschooled damn
my point exactly
Ok besides that how would I even get into MIT? I have no guides no tips nothing
im getting A+’s in all my. lasses because its fuckin easy
australia’s education system is really fuckin lacking
Because the moment I step into 9th everything begins to count
The US's is terrible ngl
question
frr also when tf am i going to need to know cos??
why do we learn alg and higher if we gonna forget it in 5 years :I
the point isn't to maybe use it later in life
the point is to build logical and critical thinkinf=g
basic algebra is simple
Also looks good
forgetting it is like forgetting how to multiply and divide
I have no idea how people say that ngl
finding variables is free
theres always a logical step to it
is apush really that bad
History is hard in itself
school based
ohhh
Imagine AP US history in Freshman year
imagine having APs freshman year
Wdym 2 choices?
i have all advanced classes and im a freshman lol
we have advanced class in yr 9 but in yr 10 they all just… dissapear
my school doesn’t have most classes with an advanced option

or freshman APS
Should I take AB/BC geo or normal geo?
ap us history
My schools way of saying 100% of the textbook taught
mb thought you didnt know it
Everyone says its like REALLY fuckin hard
so am i fucked next year taking it
Y e s
i mean you’ll probably be fine. history is mostly reliant on memory so if your memory is okay youll be aight
pray for me
wait my memory is so good
Is browski taking it :I
then youll be aigjt
Isnt history debating stuff? like my history class is mostly us learning something (ww2) then either saying that it was like good for the US to step in late or etc
still worried but if it gets hard ill drop out
Dont you have like 5 days to drop out?
first 6 weeks
5 days is crazy
talk to your consuler about that- it can differ between schools
i feel so bad for you
If I take AP Us history and its fun for the first week and then its REALLY hard im cooked
Also whats the SAT/ACT?
you dont have to worry about that rn but theyre college admission tests
youre cooked if you get an "average" score
:I
Just study hard
average is cooked?
Alr so I just finalized my schedule
AP World
AP Lang
AP Precalc
AP Physics I
Adv. Topics in Chem
AP Chem
Honors Wind Ensemble
Spanish IV
and mostly...
Honors New Mexico State Law (jk)
double sci ap gl
Saul killed McGill
Your right
That was said at my court hearing
Anyways
Ye
I figured the Physics and Chem could work together
Just like me at Wexler-McGill 10 20 years ago
Heard it'll help in prepartion of PSAT
Court hearing? (I didnt finish bcs
sounds nightmarish
Only if you’re prepared for the coursework and like the classes
Hello,
So my school has been introducing the IB diploma and the courses with it. Im a sophomore and im honestly not completely sure about it. If i take it I will not be able to pick any electives since there is not time in mu schedule. I also heard some students talk badly about it. Is the IB diploma worth it?
I’m trying to get accepted into CS/software engineering in Uni. I am currently applying for HS. Comp Sci and Robotics are in the same option. Can someone help me select what options are best for me? (I have to select 3)

No one responded to my ideas which schedule should I choose for sophomore year of high school as a physics major
we don't know how much you can handle
if you're going for t20s or selective unis then go for as much as you handle
as a random internet stranger its hard to know a) your ability to handle challenging coursework and b) the difficulty of those classes in your area
AP chem might be good tho
Thank you
That's the one I've been told to do by most people so I'm probably going to go with it
I’m trying to get accepted into CS/software engineering in Uni. I am currently applying for HS. Do I take the IB program for one year and drop it to get in an environment with like minded students and gain study habits so when I drop it dash 1 would be easier for me or do I stick to dash 1? I will have to do extra work in IB rather than dash 1 and it will be harder for me to get higher grades.
And also, do I take dash 1 in all classes or dash 2 for Social Studies because it is near useless for what I want to study.
Is AP bio hard and should I take it as a sophomore
Should I take ap computer science principles as a freshman?
As a freshman?
yes
It is not that hard
Depends what your computer knowledge?
easy class which I personally enjoyed
I have friends who take it and it is really light
you don't need any
Ik but general knowledge wise
I didn't have any and I'm doing fine rn
Like if u do not know anything about computers then it is harder but it is easy
it's easy either way
if you know how to code already it'll be extremely easy
That is what I said
Whats the difference (college wise) between taking an Accelerated course and normal course? (AC English vs Normal english for example)
Accelerated english
Yes? My school has an Accelerated english course and normal course for every year
Is there a difference like for colleges?
They cover more and go faster is that no just advance honors
No
Only ap and dual enrollment are like the classes that matter and other activities
So colleges dont care if I take normal geo instead of advanced geo?
No
It is good if u do it get u better at time management and workload
I use to go to a regular school and the. Changed to magnet and did all advance honors and it took me a bit
AP Lang MCQ is SAT reading but worse
Is ap lang the one u got to talk about book or is that ap lit
So Ima take Advanced Geo prob thx
i think Lit bc lit is fiction
But see if it is to hard tho cause u do not want to over go
i mean i think it looks like maybe marginally better but it's not like the deciding factor for like one class, if it's like a pattern that's a little different
He is talking about college
I suck at math, but I’m interested in a STEM career. Should I take AP statistics or pre-calculus?
The only data colleges give out is that and test scores
Yeah that's what I'm referring to
AP Stats is the social studies of math courses, do you like social studies classes
depends on which APs
ap comp sci prin, APES, and ap human
those aren't bad from what I've heard but I've only taken AP CSP
I think APES might be the hardest of those
you took 1 ap through highschool?
sounds easily manageable depending on your teachers and what you're used to
For sure.
go for it
college readiness
but im confused how u cant take a elective bc for us we have to take a arts and a langiage
and also ti boost ur gps
gpa
Then take AP stats over precalc
pre calc is a requirement
this year as a junior in highschool, i am taking CS, Physics, Chem, Mtahs and english is that enough or maybe more?
i will do languages thru sites and apps and i was hoping if i should do more to boost my college app?
Hi everyone!
Does anyone know someone who applied to NUS (not Yale-NUS)? I want to apply there as an international student but have very limited information about the applications and scholarships
best stem classes out of these?
why not methods
personally, I'd choose biology or engineering)
Depends on what you’re aiming for, I will always say biology lol
because im skipping a grade, and frankly? skipping a grade of the hardest )overall( math my school offers isnt something im keen on
Maths is definitely the most important. Physics, Chem, Digital Solutions (or whatever one is CS) and Engineering are all great in my experience.
my school offers ap us history at 10th grade.. good idea or no?
No because we have a 9 block period and if i take all the courses required i have 2 periods left. One of them is lunch and the last one is an advisory
Should I take a leadership next year or should I take an Ap instead?
why not both
Am doing it rn at ADX Montrose
Pretty interesting stuff
real
Uhh so my courses for my junior year look like this:
AP pre calc
AP comp sci
APUSH
AP phys
Eng 3 dual credit but i might take AP lang
comp sci 2 but i might do it over the summer
Does this seem manageable/reasonable or like way tm? I took my first AP this year and i feel like im doing a lot more.
My selection of classes for freshman year is
Freshman English Accelerated
Geometry (Haven't decided if I should take advanced yet)
Biology Accelerated (I cant get into chem Accelerated cause that needs you to be in already)
World History and Geography (Required to take in either summer, 9th or 10th grade)
Computer programming 2 (Il take 1 in the summer)
Spanish 2
Is this good enough to take in freshman year?
These classes fulfill all of the 9th grade requirements.
My dream college is MIT. I'm thinking about a comp sci or engineering degree in college
I cant take any AP's until my sophomore year I'm planning to take AP computer principles or AP computer A there.
I'm also thinking maybe instead of programming I could take engineering as an elective or maybe intro to Business.
class selection for freshman year:
Honors English 1
Honors Algebra 2
Honors Physics
Honors World 1
Honors French 3
Study of Dance (required)
school name dance company
is this good?
want to major in engineering/bio/chem
Is AP Physics-1 gonna be difficult if I'm also planning on taking AP Calc BC, AP Lang, and APUSH in the same year?
Yeah that's a pretty difficult schedule
BC and APUSH are pretty hard classes themselves; physics 1 is hard because it's really new to a lot of students (style of questions, etc.)
no because i think you need to be good at math for MIT
geometry is average but i think for high level colelges like that most ppl take alg 2 in freshman
