Thats good
man I don't know what to do in college haha
hello, i am wondering if i have to take apes. i am a sophomore and 99% of juniors take apes or earth science honors. i want to take ap physics next year instad since i am more interested in it. i know that aech college has their own requirements but ive done research and most say they want just one lab course. does that mean i dont have to take apes to apply to most colleges in general? anyone know of schools that do require apes/earth science
Yo I can only pick 6 of these, which one should I drop?
Ap World History
Ap Environmental Science
Ap Chemistry
Enhance Alg 2 & AP Precalc
Engineering Concepts
Spainish ll
10th grade Lit GF
The literature
That what I was thinking to lol
So I’m planning to take AP Seminar, AP US Gov, Bio H, Geometry H, and French 2 my freshman year but also want to do marching band. Marching band wouldn’t be every day, it would be about 4-5 hours a week and it ends in November. Would that be wayyyyyy too much?
is it a class
or just after school
After school
do it
Ok thanks!
cause you can always drop it if you need to
Yeah
are you in 9th grade rn or 8th
8th
I do, so it could be manageable.
just make sure you start to develop time management skills now
so you can decide if you have time for it (if youre doing other stuff) by the time next year rolls around
Ok. Thanks for your help!
🙏
light work
ima have 3-5 XC/track then 5-7 robotics next year 💀💀
+solofest and percussion ensemble practice
no freshman APs tho 😭
apes
literally the only AP i had the chance to apply for was AP language
i don’t inherently need APs for my college plan but Man
AP gov and AP lang are such nerd APs
Self study csp?
Thoughts on this 4 year plan? I have interests in stem
Courses in white text r pretty much locked in
Its rly ez
Khan academy has it as well
computer science?
Si
Dont self study csa
Ok
I’ll just take it my sophomore yr then?
Do u play any instruments like in orchestra choir or band
I play piano
Ok
not choir or band
yo are you 8th grader
Yeah
same
you guys have golf
sick
Yeah
our school isn't that rich
Hey guys can you give me advice. I am a freshman taking. bio honors and i am thinking of dropping to have more time for extracurriculars. Also that class is affecting my performance in other classes as well. I asked my college counselor and she said its fine. The class isnt weighted too and its not a prerequisite for anything
What is your grade
because that would be important
if you want to drop out
u sure u want to take AP physics? Arguably one of the hardest aps out there.
is it hard
Had a 93 but it dropped my grade in a diff class
it
its free if u study
Yeah I’m like a math and science nerd I prob got this
Keyword is probably 💀💀😭😭
how is honors not weighted
worse kind of people
mb their school does unweighted gpa
worst**
I’ve already like looked at calc and it ain’t that bad the school just won’t let me take it lol
not judging their abilities its just their personality tends to be 🤮
yep
I’m also gonna take a test this summer to skip alg 2 and Precalc so technically I’m taking calc ykyk
bruh
theres really no need to do that but u do u 😭
yep
👍
depends
on ur teachers
I think I’m a nice guy trust 👍👍
and school
dont ask us ask ur counselor
we arent accurate
idk why ppl ask abt "how hard is this class" 😭
its teacher based
if u get a good teacher
its easier
if u get a bad teacher
its harder
How hard is ap world? I know it’s considered easier than apush but a bunch of kids I’ve heard stress abt it and scare ppl abt it
i took honors world dk
Meanwhile I’ve never heard an apush complaint
Is APUSH the hardest
out of what
My hs must be nice
the histories?
I heard my cousins stressing
Hardest social studies imo
out of all history classes yea
is calc 3 = multivariable?
Ye
Uhhhh idk
look it up
i should really make one of those charts ive thought about my classes but thats cool
lol it’s pretty ez to make
is that like PE?
alr ty
Agreed ^^^
Should i continue with ap capstone into ap research?? I kinda hate seminar rn, is the full experience worth it?
What do you do in seminar
Academic research and argument-based papers and stuff??
you should do it especially if you like the sport - good opportunity to form stronger bonds with others who share similar interests
Is span 3 and 4 worth doing?
guys I have got 4 credits from a language test. does this count as foreign language requirement for colleges
Definitely, most colleges like it
need help rn, Do I need to take ap physics c or can I only take phsysics 1 and ap chem(wanna be cs major)
( before i start im a freshman) asking this because i can either take physcis in the universe(usually taken in 9th grade non honors science) to ap stats junior to aphysics c; chemstry (most people take this) to ap chem junior to ap phyiscs 1 senior; or chemistry sophmore , normal physiscs junior to phyiscs c senior
i scrweed up so i cant take ap physics 1 junior
if i can get an advice it would be helpful
@old crag I’m currently a freshman. What science path should I take?
Honors biology > Honors Chemistry > AP Physics 1 > AP Physics 2
OR
Honors biology > Honors Chemistry > AP Biology > AP Physics 1
2nd one
ik you only a freshman but what are you gonna major in
@old crag
business
no point of golf and orch. take an ap
shows comittment to colleges
id keep it
and it'll be fun
and plus usually its a free 100 too
so
golf is useless for college
and too many aps is not always the way
golf is for old ppl
fr
XD
@cedar sparrow yappin
nah

my brain is just fried rn
from doing chem math tutor
and its 12 am
so
like
i might as well
bro golf will not get him into college unless he wins tournaments and stuff like that
teach me
this year
im doin ap world, ap comp sci a, ap seminar, chem honors, alg 2 honors, english 2 honors, business & marketing, spanish 2, and pe
is doing bio ap and chem gt at the same time a good idea
very nice schedule
ECs????
Need the credit requirements anyways
I mean if ur playing at a National level, golf helps
Some schools let you take core classes and count them as elective credit
yup its fun and not too difficult so far
I can tell ur a little kid
mini golf is fun
golf is for richass people lol
lol
Meh lots of people golf who aren’t rich lol. But the people who go to the very expensive country clubs and fancy golf courses are def rich
How hard is ap comp sci principles? What do you learn in it? Apparently it’s easy but i want to use it as a chill course, does it work as one?
bro im in varsity golf highschool
im just poking fun at golf since i have friends who do golf
its not about the point or even what colleges think, its your interest.
we are people not robots for their system
it’s such a good sport
it can be really peaceful
If I was you, do Spanish 4 DE into AP Spanish
you can do it online,or ater school
Not sure if this is true, but AP CSP may require Scratch coding like stuff
light
its block coding
is there other courses possibly for someone who wants to do cybersecurity? (prob no more cybersecurity during senior year and maybe no more computer science either idk)
Hey y’all, I was wondering whether I should select AP Econ (micro & macro) or AP World history for junior year. Our school didn’t offer AP World for sophomore year, but I wanna take another AP that’s probably either useful or just easier. Def not AP Gov tho I think that’s boring.
So I’m in it rn and it is such an easy class. I didn’t know coding before but they will go through it all and it’s super basic and simple.
Yeah a lot of my friends say they basically use it as a free period
It’s so fun with friends tho you just mess around all period
I am in 8th grade going into 9th grade
Is this good for courses
English 9 Honors
Math 2 Honors or Alegbra 2 Honors
Biology Honors
Spanish 1
Biomedical Sciences Honors
Global Studies/Health
Freshman P.E
I’ve heard ap Spanish is rly hard
My freshman courses
P.E/Tech-eng seminar (alternating)
Spanish 2
Theology 1 (priv school required)
Global Studies 1
English 1
Percussion Ensemble
Biology Advanced
Algebra 2/Trig Advanced
personally i didn’t find it that challenging
AP CSP option but I would need to drop percussion ensemble, and im very talented at percussion + we are competing sophomore year
Ap world
It is
AP Span is very hard, take SPAN 4 through DE
yes
What’s DE
I think u should take ap csp only if u have a free class available
i dont 😭
yk what bro I wanted to take that class but I don’t have any spots left for it
Taking econ right now! I like it and find it pretty simple and very straight forward
dual enrollment
💯
Im currently a freshman and im in an Algebra 2/trig class, how big of a jump is Ap calc AB vs pre-calc honors next year?
i feel like so many activities require you to be rich
nah fr
why dont u take ap pre calc
did ballet and figure skating and ohh myy it can get very pricey
cost of class, cost of the pointe shoes/skates, cost of the ice rink of outside of class practice :((
figure skating is wild
😭
comps and shi too
should i take spanish 1+2
im technically on track to have my lote done by next year bc computer science counts as it
ima try to get into stanford its my dream college any tips( in 8th grade btw)
but im not sure if colleges would accept it or not
it's so fun omg
no like frfr
i went ice skating onece fell like 20 times bru
the most... unexpensive sport is probably swimming or running idk
LMAOAOOA SKILL ISSUE
but also, practice more
shut up
it takes a while to get used to being on ice
aw ily too
prolly

Don't go to Standford as an undergraduate. It's way more expensive. Go to a community college, to get a bachelor's, then proceed to Standford.
omg my biggest issue rn :((
i wish we could take more than 8 courses a year...
if we got to choose 10, life would be perfect
capstone?
nwxt year
comp sci principles
dummy
it depends on whether you're good at it ig
girl i have not been studying AP courses okay
i've only been looking at IBs
cuz that's what im focusing on
in the future
same
whoa
u 08 or 09
09>>
i know sm 08s bru
my bday is really late in the year tho LOL
damn
me but w/ 09s
so true
which sucks sm but oh well :((
running is probably the cheapest one..? idk
im sorry
guys im going to freshman
ohi!
Our school doesnt offer it, we only have pre calc and pre calc honors
oh
im planning to take english 1 tag, alebra 2 tag, Tag biology, Ap himan geo, spanish 3, Band(double block) and im unsure what elective to take im torn between Ap principles of Cs and debate
what should i take
wait what does tag stand for?
are you more interested in one or the other? and does your school require specific credits (eg. public speaking or robotics) to graduate?
is it tag/honors?
fr but 8? my school is only 7 classes max
noooo that's really sad... i might ask if i can get rid of my lunch period and replace it with a class instead
noo but u gotta eat
i have break time tho and i can eat really fast >:D
so it's unnecessary frfr
it's just the workload would be really high
cuz i usually do hw during lunch
oh alr
tag is like accelerated 2
For our school we require 4 english, 2 math,4 science,4 social studies,2 lote, and 1 fine art
for sophomore i dont plan ln taking band
yeah
not sure though, because im personally not doing either courses
debate is also cool but it's something you can do outside of school/as an extracurriculur imo
yeah
cause a lot of my friends do MUN or policy debate outside of school
so go for CS i suppose?
should i do it for 2 years for the 2 ap classes
and then leave cs or do it for 4 years
I’ll be going into senior year next year and I only need a handful of credits, does it look good on college apps to completely fill up my schedule? I’ll have 3 extra class spots open (1 per trimester), does it make sense to take another class or will it not really matter?
3 study halls?
Yeah pretty much
there’s probably an AP or an interesting elective to take up 1/2 of those
should i do as many aps as possible
it can be too much, depends
Hmm I could do stats, is it a class worth taking?
yeah def take stats
AP or reg
Ap
thats good
Got it, what kind of difficulty level should I expect?
but ideally more is better
Dawg what
for ex
Say I had a machine that could pick out all of the very rare cards in a pack of Pokémon meaning I can buy only the packs with say a shiny charizard. And the packs had a .023% chance to have that card
What is the chance the other packs have that card
how many aps is good
I have the choice between AP bio or AP stats and bio seems fairly boring, I guess I could do AP world but that looks goofy as a senior lol
depends
take stats
its helpfl
Bet
thats what upperclassmen told me
Yeah I’ve heard a lot of good stuff about it
stats or calc ab
What grade?
like how many do people from ivies take
did u take bc
im foong to freshman
no but isn’t ab first
going
no
ab is like intro or beginning
bc is like the full
course
bc better but harder
I mean ultimately it doesn’t matter very much because a lot of schools only offer a couple of AP courses but if your school offers a lot then go for 8-12 imo
okay
Start at like 1-2 as a freshman and if you can handle it then go for more
i also want to do a reserarch project and start in freshman who do i email for that
whats ur major
Personally I have a lot of friends that have parents/connections with my state university so they were able to contact them and get a spot, see what’s available near you and utilize ur resources
very few schools even have 1-2 freshman
Very true, I didn’t even have the option as a freshman lol
Should I get a minor in college
I want to major in aerospace and I was considering minor in music because I already play an instrument
I want to continue playing an instrument throughout college to
For us AB is a pre req for bc
Should I double AP Physics I with Adv. Topic in Chem (prereq to AP Chem) and AP Chem (all classes are semester long)
hello, i am wondering if i have to take apes. i am a sophomore and 99% of juniors take apes or earth science honors. i want to take ap physics next year instad since i am more interested in it. i know that aech college has their own requirements but ive done research and most say they want just one lab course. does that mean i dont have to take apes to apply to most colleges in general? anyone know of schools that do require apes/earth science
should i take ap physics C, is AP Physics I really worth my time and effort.
should i be in a athletic course every single year
i think it will help with my college resume
Im going into 9th grade
i want to take health science and computer science
but
i have to take others class such as spanish, speech and health class
and i dont know if i can fit it
but i could free a space up by not taking athletic class
I dont know if i should though
because i want to play sport
Hey guys (I am a junior High Schooler) , i wanted to give a CS A AP this year and apply to college (early admission) in nov or dec. If i get accepted and then i Give another AP in 2025 may, Will the 2025 AP benefit me in any way?
@hot summit
Should I take 14 APS + 14 electives throughout high-school (this includes PE and Foundations which are required electives) for my whole high school career
OR
take 15 APS and only 12 electives
I’m currently a freshman. What science path should I take?
Honors biology > Honors Chemistry > AP Physics 1 > AP Physics 2
OR
Honors biology > Honors Chemistry > AP Biology 1 > AP Physics 1
@fading topaz these are my questions! 🙂
Do you know what you intend to gobinto after college?
Business or law most likely
In that case the AP Paths you picked shouldn't matter too much
Hi im new here
In regards to elective-AP ratio, does your school have an honors diploma?
Honors diploma? No
Then probably just stack APs if you can handle it
Why so? I want to be in top colleges and if they see I only took ten APs out of the 31 I have offered, that’s not a good look
Out of 27
Because I take Spanish
But still
You're going into law, and college that denies you based on the fact you took AP Bio over another year of AP Physics you weren't going to be accepted anyway
No disrespect
You got a lot of time to sort this out man
Oh I didn’t know I were talking about that 😭 I was referring to the first question
U*
Huh?
This one
U we’re talking abt this one
Yeah I said just stack APs
If you had an Honors Diploma available, you should try and meet those requirements first before stacking APs but since you dont
Go crazy
What could be some other classes or such I can take if I'm wanting to do Cybersecurity in senior year of highschool?
AP Compute Science
Programming wouldn't hurt
Ok I can probably do programming but idk bout ap computer science as uh that may be 2 difficult for my brain tbh
What grade are you?
AP comp sci principles is easy.
You can get the hang of it pretty easily.
11th rn thinking for senior year
Even with autism, ADHD, bad memory and idk what else?
All ik is Cybersecurity 1 and 2 and then computer science 1 and 2 I think? There might be more that I haven't seen yet
Well ofc you should take Cyber security, but you should probably do some thinking about whether you're willing to take on AP CS
If not, then CS 1 and 2 is fine
2nd
Oh ok
what is a good starter CTE class i could take next year for an Honors diploma?
people at my school say Digital imaging sucks
definitely painting too
wondering if it's worth getting an AP/IB of all 3 sciences, or just have several AP/IBs on one?
im thinking, starting sophomore year, i might do
AP Physics 2 > IBHL Physics 1 > IBHL Physics 2 + AP Chem (or bio)
or
AP Physics 2 > IBHL Chem 1 > IBHL Chem 2 + AP Bio
cause im not 100000% sure what i wanna do yet :((
figured out my 10th grade schedule
now im trying to solidify my 11th and 12th grade ones <3
Do physics for engineering or mathematical field if you are planning more medical then do chem
If you have no clue what you are going to do in the future then take all 3
Take AP Gov + Economics + English & also Seminar + Research
im going to freshman what are good electives to take
I’m taking gov and Econ and human geography sophomore year
Idk if I can take seminar or research
My advice is to take any prerequisites you can related to your interests / future career- then when you’re able to as a sophomore/junior/senior you don’t have to worry about not taking the right classes
And anything your school requires for graduation that you can take now, like PE, financial classes, etc
I highly suggest it, but you can do without it
2nd one because the first one has a lot of physics. If you are very passionate about physics it’s okay, but if u want to explore different subjects to for 2nd one
guys what science and math ap should I take
You can take lang and lit if you dont have it as well
physics or chem
What did you take last year? also depends on what major you think you will be
I'm not taking honors bio or honors English fresh man year do you think I still got a chance for MIT I am taking ap world and ap cs prin
Also I am taking geometry honors
Why do you have to take a class to join a sport?
Actually let me ask my counselor about that
But uh
A question have right now
Is that should I take health science or computer science
Because I’m interested in both
But can only choose one
I might have to check my college for that
I don’t have enough space to take health science and computer science
No all the years
Except for 10th
But I won’t have enough time
Is computer science credit required for graduation?
Do you think a computer science programs outside of school good enough for school resume
Just follow your heart. There’s not much I can do to help you
What do you want to major in?
Neuroscience and Tech
I want to make devices that can help find cure for brain diseases
Oooo yeah
Because most colleges require you to get at least one physical education credit
You right
yeah ik
Yeah so take health science, PE, or JROTC if you need physical education credits
I also I know some colleges require computer science credits to so I would check that
Nah it doesn’t
Health science is an elective
It not required
I want to learn about the science of health
Wait is the computer class an AP class?
Can be
From what I’ve heard from other people
Classes that you take in high school that are high school level don’t really do much
For example if I want to major in engineering, I don’t have to take engineering in high school
Because I’ll just relearn it in college anyways
But take this with a grain of salt, I don’t know if this 100% correct
Also this doesn’t apply with college level classes. Taking college level classes in high school will definitively give you a significant advantage
Oh really?
Oh okay that takes a lot of pressure off
I’m not exactly sure
Yeah I will go check
So I would get someone’s opinion on this
Yeah I’m gonna talk to my counselor tomorrow
But you don’t have to know anything about a major in college to be in that class?
let me search
Depends
Some classes do have a placement test
This is usually used in math classes
For example I score low on my math placement test the college will make me take algebra
So if I take algebra in high school instead it will help me get put into a higher math class
This happened to a friend of mine
They had to take algebra 1 but they talked to their counselor and said that they already took it in high school
So now they’re taking statistics
Oh and placement tests are also common in foreign language courses and I think English classes also
So unless your trying to get into a specific class I wouldn’t worry too much
Idk about health science courses so check your college requirements
does ap music theory give you a fine arts credit and is it easy
Fine Arts Credit ✅
Easy? Depends,on your prior level
Have you taken music theory? Are you enrolled in a music class?
Bro who takes algebra in college what
I’m going into my sophomore year and I have no clue what classes I should take or what classes I need to take can someone help?
Take the applicable math course for your grade (preferably Honors); AP World; English 2 (Honors?); AP Physics/Honors Chem.
You choose the electives based on your major
I'm going into junior year and I was planning on taking Ap Chem, Ap Physics, and honors Precalc together (Precalc H is one of the hardest class to take)
I don't know what the limit should be
because these courses are really difficult and idk what to do
I was thinking maybe instead of Ap Physics, I could take Honors Physics, but what do ygs think?
Im into aviation so which degree should i take
I’m in high school so I don’t have a major
I mean like what you plan on doing
bro there is definitely no way
you are doing that
its literally impossible so to say
ap chem and ap physics 1 are the two hardest ap courses
if i were u i'd only take one of the sciences
what other classes are you taking
Everything else is more basic
Like Ap lang, Ap Spanish, Apush, biotech, choir
Those are the 3 hardest courses I was deciding on
i dont get why people think they need to take a million aps
what major do you want to do
if its english or literature istg
bruh
it does help you speed through your distribution or other sciences requirements or go through the graduation tracker
however, it all depends on the college you go to
ik u need like. to take honors chem before taking ap chem but for 8th grade im taking like?? an introduction to physics and chem for a 4th science
would that be enough
like chem knowledge to be able to do ap chem
hiii, i was wondering if it’s better to take 3 years of lote or an ap class in your major? i’m from california and i’m a hs sophomore
physics 1 is easy
🙄 ok bud
ok tbf i havent took it yet so i wouldnt know
maybe i'll be like super good at physics
the ap scores are really low cus a bunch of people take it randomly
and in their like senior years
have u taken it??
i’m taking it right now and had a 97 last semester and a 93 this semester cus I didn’t try on one of the quizzes
Should I take AP Human Geo or AP World? I can’t take both and im going into sophomore year
I got recommended for World History but idk if I should take it
ap world
Ap world
AP World
Can I get into an IVY with these grades and GPA
Or is it a good mile point for freshman year?
Yes great start
hi im currently a freshman in high school and im aiming for t20s and ivies. im also currently in spanish 3 honors and im planning to take spanish 4 (not honors) as a sophomore next year. It required in my school to have 2 years min of language and im also planning to do 2 years as its my worst class and is bringing my gpa down. i know a lot of the t20s and ivies want at least 3-4 years of foriegn language, but i really dont want to take spanish as a junior as im worried about its effects to my gpa. im planning to major in a STEM major also.
do u think i shud take spanish 5 as a junior and possibly lower my gpa or take spanish for only 2 years if i want better chances of getting into a t20 or ivy?
have you already taken spanish 1 and 2?
oh what grade are you in?
9th
ok
i suggest taking spanish the two years necessary if you just want space for electives
but if you REALLY want to impress colleges then maybe take spanish again
im in 8th grade and im taking Spanish 1 right now
my school requires 3 years of language so thats all im doing
ohh okay
is it a red flag if i only do 2 years?
cuz i think if i do 3-4 years, my gpa will decrease as im bad at spanish
People that are less academically inclined
is it still possible to get into ivy legaue if you choose to take free periods junior and senior year
and also hs top athletes
they train their body rather than their mind
if ykyk
dont schools have graduation reqs?
high schools?
mine requires algebra 2/trig minimum
HELLO anyone a ECE student here?!
I think as long as you have taken three spanish courses you will be okay.
If you really want to you can take spanish 4 but I suggest taking a different elective that interests you
Are these grades/courses a good start for a top college? Im a freshman in HS
wait are all of these reg
Aim to go higher in math classes I was originally supposed to do geometry but I was able to move in algebra 2
is that really necessary ?
you should know geometry it's a foundation for a lot of math
my plan is accel geo -> precalc/alg 2 -> calc bc -> idk what after
AP Calc BC?
I think that’s usually the highest HS math you can take in a public American HS tbh
I personally think you shouldn’t skip foundational math classes
Linear algebra and multivar is after
ap stats if you wanna go for that after
Pretty sure those are college courses? Calculus is usually a college course too. It’s just available to take in HS through AP
English, History, and science are honors
Ive already taken biology and Geometry is a step ahead of the regular math 9th graders take
i am going to freshman next year and taking algebra 2
Thats good
What are you taking sophomore year?
Pre calc ap
Nice
It’s not skipping I just took it during summer
I’m doing pretty well in the next class
You didn’t say that to them tho
So all I read was that you were able to move into Alg 2 instead of taking geometry…
which is not advisable since the higher level maths need a foundational understanding of geometry
Oh my b 😭
my school has multivariable too
and i did mean ap calc bc
after that I could take multivariable/ap stats/dual enrollment but it's js too far in the future lol
i don't see a point in taking geometry over the summer and i don't have the money anyways
Some American high schools offer Dual Credit Calc 3 or Linear Algebra, which is above BC (1 & 2)
In my school geometry in 9th grade is normal
No, sometimes they let u take multivariable calc or linear algebra
in my school geo is 10th
So….college courses lol
I didn’t want to mention dual credit / enrollment classes because each affiliated college is different from one another and might not offer those
I see
Yeah same
Yeah, usually thats the case
I Got a question so I am taking algebra and George at the same time and my counselor offered me the chance to take college algebra so it covers my algebra 2 credit but I am aiming for a 1500 at least in my SAT should I take the opportunity or no
Can you handle doing everything?
whats the letter to percentage?
dayum heck yea
Colleges around me just say 4 math credits. Doesn’t matter which math because some people may not excel at math and are in special education classes.
Is it worth doing less AP classes to pursue other extracurriculars. Since I’m currently an All State Selection in band and likely playing JV for football. I don’t know if I can handle doing so much school work to keep up with those.
(Freshman are in middle school in my district btw so I’m currently taking AP hug as the only AP I can, also taking Sec 2 level math)
I think so yeah, it’s unnecessary to take so many AP’s if you can’t even keep up with it
EC’s are also pretty important, if your skills are in your EC’s then you should also focus on that
What instrument
do you do NYSSMA?
💀 "cause i didnt try"
nvm then i guess what i meant is that ap physics is hard for the AVERAGE person
Ap bio or AP chem during my sophmore year? (Im planning to do a business major)
Bass clarinet
idk what that is lol
blud where in new york
bio
also what else are you taking
rahchestuh
LMFAO WHAT
i think i know
anyways if u dont like science u should put more time into extracurriculars instead
like join fbla or something
We ain’t got that
make one fr
Ye cause the college algebra course is over the summer
for junior, physics 1 or AP chem?
Whichever one you prefer to take
.
I think you should take physics
On AP chem?
Oh I thought you meant regular physics
ap
You didn’t say AP physics in the original message
u right
AP physics % for 5 is 8.8, AP chem % for 5 is 16%

awh man
I didn’t like AP chem lol >.>
But I never took AP physics either so I can’t comment
It’s interesting
did u ever take ap geography?
arguably the easiest ap?
Yes
we all do
I think AP human geography was extremely easy
.
A lot of it felt like common sense
ikr
tbh
i dont think you shoudl self study for any ap
other ap u recommend during my freshman year?
use that time for extracurriculars instead
“Why do immigrants move?”
- career prospects and money
- war and inhabitable areas
- political unrest
if you truly do not need it you dont have to take it
espically if ur school doesnt offer it
lmfao
cartograms 🤓
would be a jumpstart over my competitors at school
the thing is though
?
if u spent it on extracurriculars thats what would give u a headstart
i regret not doing anything freshman year
its ur choice but what i would do is spend the time on extracurriculars instead
my ecs are stacked
ok bud
?
ight man
cure cancer
chill
yeah exactly
was joking
What r u interested in
real estate
Uhhh I mean
Name every course that's good for Cybersecurity I can see if my school offers it
What do u enjoy more ap chem or physics
Bet.
never took it so I dont know
Business applications
Cybersecurity
Programming in Java
Programming in Python
AP Comp Sci Principles
AP Comp Sci A
What sounds more appealing, chem or physics?
And have u had any experience with either in the past
Ty
no experience whatsoever
Damn well then
It’s not like I can choose for u
alright
Should I double AP Chem and AP Physics I
ik i've taken now once junior year ends in May or June i'd hve cybersecurity completed so ima try the others
It’s probably gonna be hell but if ur determined and passionate u should
Uh ok
It can't be hell
Ppl are saying APUSH is hell and I got a 99% on both 1st and 2nd Quarters
It’s the test you should worry about
Original Choices:
AP Physics 1
AP Computer Science A
New Choices (Not Including Dual Enrollment):
AP Chemistry
Physics Honors
AP Statistics
AP Psychology
Baking & Pastry 1
Game Simulation Foundations (Game Design 1)
Leadership Skills Local Honors (Student Government)
Principles of Entrupreneurship
(My school, for some reason, failed to get AP Physics and AP Computer Science A this year)
y'all tell me what you think I should take instead of those 2 calsses
classes
(I want to major in physics and/or comp sci at MIT)
hey, if you don’t mind me asking, what year are you in?
Besides MIT, what else are you looking at?
Caltech, Berkeley, Princeton, to name the ones on the top of my mind
and UF for in-state
Bro same
lucky you have ap physics
I'm so mad that my school didn't get it
they lost it because the old physics teacher went to go start a drug empire
or some shit
I forgot the story
I'm a sophomore btw
(this is for junior year, I'm currently a sophomore)
LMAO
That is my sophomore schedule I’m currently a freshman
U could take it online
Hello, I am having trouble in my Algebra 1 class, if anyone is willing to help teach me, it would be much appreciated
What is it specifically
i’d say ap chem and honors physics, but i’d try to talk it over again with parents and explain my goals
Solving Systems of Linear Equations by Graphing
That is the lesson title
Flvs got rid of ap physics 1 too 😞
My parents are not in the equation
sorry to hear that!
Nono
They're alive
They not dead
Not out of the equation like that
I love them They love me
I'm saying like
They have nothing to do with my class choices
oh i didn’t mean to come off that way 😭
i meant to say why they didn’t agree with ur class choice?
Oh has nothing to do with that
My school doesn't have ap physics 1 or ap csa
Which, they were supposed to get it for next year
Guess not though
The "new choices" are my top choices from the rest of the classes on my course card
Do Yk how to graph linear equations
Those r so important for physics u got hella unlucky
Ya im not great at it tho
Yeah :(
So when u graph the two equations the point where of intersection is the answer
ok
Do u need help w the graphing part
93-97 is an A
98-100 is an A+
I'm so glad that my county doesn't do A+
which I'm even more ecstatic about
Most schools I’ve went to have this percentage:
90-93 = A-
93-96 = A
97-100 = A+
this is correc5
Also, do you think it’s still possible for me to snag the valedictorian title at the end of senior year if I got Rank 12/422 in the first semester of freshman year?
Yeah my friend jumped from rank 9 to rank 1 after 1st semester sophomore
And he was less than 9 before
Well
More than 9, technically
See my County has that for all the other letters
Just not A
my school is valedictorian for only senior year
u can definetly snag first place no matter what
ask your guidance counselor whose the number one, see and observe what he/she does. Like ask for studying tips etf
etc
I'm so sad that I'd be rank #1 if I didn't screw myself in covid year (got a D for algebra 1, 7th grade)
That one D (everything else is an A) is dropping me to rank 13 ☹️
Maybe, we couldn’t tell you
Ask your counselor
Physics for sure
Physics stays winning
Overall rank, or just for that semester
?
Overall
Ale, thx for the motivation
No problem
*Alr
is 3 aps (ap comp sci prin, apes, and ap human) in freshman year too much
and if i choose apes i have to do honors biology alongisde
You have to?
I don’t think it’s too much as long as you manage your time
yea
APES had a lot of super fun labs
AP human is easy if you use logic imo
I haven’t taken APCS so I can’t comment
i heard that APES has hard tests
The FRQs are certainly annoying
One question can give up to 5 parts…
1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e
i, ii, iii, iv etc

in my county i got accepted for the IB highschool and also the IT highschool
i can take ap comp sci prin if i go to the IT one
USA?
but which one do i choose
My school is also IB lol
yea my cointy has highschools for diff interests
i got into IT and ib rejected from leadership and global economics
question for IB do the IB assesment grades go into thegradebook
im in a ib middle school and ours is exluced but ppl said it changes for highschool
Yes?
not exlcided???
It depends on what your teacher wants to do with it tbh, usually it’s excluded I guess
IB classes usually boost your GPA yeah, I’m not sure if it’s the same for every single IB class but it seems like it
Does anyone else have concrete answers? I'd like more input
Are these courses good for 9th grade if I want to get into a school like MIT I'm taking dual enrollment first year college experience now for semantics and also I'm taking algebra and geometry at the same time and since I'm In florida AICE is like AP but it covers less college hours also my school doesn't give out A Pluses
Should I take AP environmental science or CAD (1 and 2) for my sophomore year, I have interest pursuing a degree in engineering
Well if u r already taking other ap classes take CAD
I am planning on taking AP US history,
If your going to MIT, take more engineering & computer science classes
*you’re
Is business management or administration a good choice?
Like, do I have a chance to get admitted to them in case it’s very competitive and pays off well for my future career?
it's one of the worst possible majors you could choose
it has practically no use irl and is heavily, HEAVILY overmajored
R u taking any ap science classes
Damn
I am planning on taking CSP at the local community College in my area
And Ap physics junior year I am also trying to see if the aice coordinator will let me take an exam for a class I am not currently taking so I can get the credit
So that I can take AP computer science principles junior year
No
Instead of business management, you could take economics or finance
Idk too much about this, so do some more research
u dont need to post it in every channel
no way bro
I mean take cad but I reccomend u take ap physics if u wanna be engineer
Okay Thanks
question
answer
should I take calc 2 or math electives if i want to go into economics -> VC? I don't rlly like finance I prefer the entrepreneurship side but that's an option and a useful one
Calc
Calc 2
that is NOT what i wanted to hear 💀
It’s better to finish both semesters of calc imo
Is on ramps chemistry 1 and lab an alternative for advanced chemistry? (Not the ap)
Calc 2 is hard but you can do it
Ah ok
I dunno how that stuff works I just did it straight up at community college
actually my school does honors instead of ap (stupid asf idk why) but it aligns 100% w ap curriculum for all of them to make it look like the students self-studied 💀
I see, so what would you learn in your calc 2, is it like more integral stuff and solids of rotation, or would it be multi variable stuff
How can I make myself stand out as someone who wants to major in physics/astronomy
Research is probably your best bet
Along with some strong classes like uni physics or high level calc
I'll be honest with you I havae zero idea, I'm just on the track at my school that's
Freshman: Accelerated Geometry with Algebra II
Sophomore: Accelerated Tigonometry with Algebra II
Junior: Accelerated Calculus I
Senior: Calculus II / electives (I would do finance/statistics, since theyre both semester lnog)
Ok thats fine
it looks like it will fulfill any calculus requirements that may have been in place.
Even if I don't do calc II?
I mean I can only recommend that you do calc 2, because thats the best action, but if you really dont want to dont force yourself, especially if you dont plan on doing engineering or anything like that
Ok, so maybe his calc 2 is going to be like 3d calc
Is this a tough course load as a junior? AP Comp Sci P, AP Seminar, AP Lang, AP USH, French 3 Honors and Alg2/Trig regular
Yes
I’m taking Chem Honors, Pre-Eng 1-2 Honors, French 2 Honore, Geo Honors, Civics/Western Civ and E2H rn
with the exception of math I'd bet you are going to have a tough time
When the APs start APing
Dang
I hear AP USH is a pain in the ass
but its up to you
I never did take AP classes so I wouldnt take my word for it
I just did Dual Credit stuff
Ahh did u take USH Reg? If so, how is it?
I took US History I and II at a Community College, it was a little rough but I got A's in both and was never too worried
Damn that’s dope as heck
Is it worth it to get an associates degree while in high school from dual enrollment
Oh yeah
I'm looking to save anywhere from 40-60k on college expenses
but if you do do it you can only get your credits to Reliably transfer at an in-state public university
Fortunately for me Texas is the king of good public engineering colleges so it works out amazing for me, but if you live somewhere with not so great public universities it might be less ideal
thats calc 3 for us
oh ok nvm then, you probably will do like some basic diff eq stuff and solids of rotation in calc 2 then
and dont forget integrals
Same
yeah man anytime
Is there a course selection guide, and just tips in general. Like what do i need to know before choosing this class, or what type of AP should i take
Im currently in 8th grade about to enter 9th grade. I want to know how do i choose my course correctly, I am interested in health (neuroscience) and computer science. I'm planning to go to MIT or Boston university. As of right now i taken early high school classes so when 8th grade is over, i will have 4 high school credit heading into high school. My graduation requirement is 26 credit and right now my classes are.
spanish 2 (To complete my world language)
Geomatry Advanced
Biology Advanced
English 1 Advanced
AP Human geography
Soccer
Principal of health
and also should i take 4 year of soccer
does it help my college resume
You are taking these in 8th?
no im entering 9th
Ok
i just dont wanna make any mistakes and miss out on something
Only if you place at district or regionals/ you are team captain does soccer matter
hmm, how many years should i take the class though
i only need 1 year credit
for sportsd
Is your school soccer team renowned?
i dont think so
how bout this
i take it for 2 years
and for 11th and 12th
i put comp sci in there
so i can take comp sci AP
That seems alright
I can help
