ok thank you. Sorry for all the questions
You're very welcome
Nah it's okay
One of my main goals in life is to spread my knowledge
So I will happily answer any question I see that I know about to any reasonable extent
@gloomy lotus your the guy that knows all the website functions. Can you recommend me a website builder that doesnt put ads on the websites? Like wix puts an ad on top.
#comp-sci-help maybe?
didnt see that, thanks
Yw
Most free website builders do unfortunately place their some sort of watermark around the website.
I would try looking into wordpress and squarespace. They may still have a watermark, but it's not that big if I remember correctly
if you're trying to make a website without a watermark though, you'll have to either buy a premium subscription or if you choose to code it, you can host statically on github pages/on vercel if you have functionality
^^
vercel will have a .vercel.app thoigh
so you’ll have to buy a domain if u want ur own thing
tbh, try softr
How is this schedule for my senior year if I want to go into Pharmacy? (I have already taken AP Chemistry and AP Physics I.)
Dual Enrollment English
AP Biology
Dual Enrollment Anatomy and Physiology
AP Calculus BC (Two Bells)
Dual Enrollment Psychology (Semester)
Dual Enrollment Sociology (Semester)
Honors Choir
take ap lang
I am currently in AP Lang. My choices for senior year are either AP Lit or DE English.
Oh gotcha
Take lit
Nice
It’s good
The only thing I disagree with is band
But like if u like it do it
does anyone know what APs are good to take as a 9th grader
also AP precalc if you're at that math level
and AP CS A if your school allows it
AP bio is a good choice as a freshman, but usually only the top few students in that class do that. As a band kid as well it can squeeze you for class slots.
shouldnt this be 11th? or did you take alg 2 and chem early
isnt AP human the only one?
Ya alg 2 I’m taking rn
What do u think abt it
so thats your senior scheduel?
No sophomore
uhh
I’m a freshman rn
but ur in 11th grade
wtf
Wait I’m so confused rn
same
i thought u took physics and precalc in 11th or 12th
im sophmore rn
tbh i should start taking my courses seriously, i havnt done ap yet
Nah im on accelerated path for math and I rly wanna take AP physics
i should take AP physics and AP pre calc
go for it
i wanna be an engineer
Physics is hella hard
so math as well
U need at least Precalc
AP or just normal
i mean everyone kinda has to take pre calc
ill start taking APs next year
im just taking kap rn
or pap in other districts i think
ima take alg 2 over the summer since i didnt take alg 1 in 8th grade
Hello, I am a high school freshman taking Spanish 4 honors right now, and I am on track to take AP Spanish next year, meaning I will be done with the course by the end of my sophomore year. And I will have to choose another language for 11th grade. But most top universities want 4 years of one language. Do you think this might lower my chances? or would i be fine since its an advanced course
Hello! Personally, I think it would be fine. My school requires only 2 credits of language and I feel like as long as you take 4 credits you will be more than fine. Thats just my opinion though.
does anyone have that file that gohar made a video on which helps you decide on a major based on factors like maths involved and salaries etc?
Okay thank you!!
Ofc!
What’s the best laptop for school
Nahh taking precalc concurrently is fine
Acc so I’ll be fine if I do that next yr?
hi can someone help me choose ib subjects?
that's an A so 4.0
Well for that we have to know the ap classes and honors and ib classes ur taking
Would a 97.7% average be a 4.3 in a 4.3 GPA scale?
Bro that’s if it’s in a honors/ap
My school runs on a 4.3 gpa scale
Check your handbook
Schools weight gpa differently
So a 97.7 for me is a 4.2, but it might be 4.3 for you
Honors
all honors
Can someone tell me what stem design is
i am a freshman in high school and cannot shadow
however, now that covid is over, would it still help me at all to shadow online??
Which is a better course
Computer science AP or bc calculus AP
Ofc
Calc bc
Like it’s more rigor
Grade 10 Courses:
-AP Calc BC (maths credit)
-AP Seminar (English credit)
-AP Physics 1 (Science Credit)
-AP Comparative Gov/Pol (greater than insignificant chance of not getting; if I don’t, either German 3 or Hon Chem to get through all sciences)
-Hon Engineering
-German 2
-Self-study AP CSP
Extra info:
Desired major either something along the lines of INTL Relations/Polsci/Geopolitics (more interest by far) OR Engineering (stability)
Can take both German 2 & 3 in the same year to get through foreign language credits
Not sure about which uni but going to one (already certain that I’m not going to make Ivy League)
APs already taken: APPC, AP World
Grad reqs include:
4 credits English (1/4)
4 maths (1/4)
3 social sciences (1/3)
3 science (1/3)
2 foreign language (1/2)
1 physical education (0.5/1, doing online b/c that exists)
0.5 health (0/0.5, doing online)
1 vocational or fine art (1/1)
5.5 elective (aka anything that’s one of the above but said category is already filled for the year, 1/5.5)
Extracurriculars:
-Art (Not school affiliated, non-competitive, somewhat professional but not a commissioner/in an art museum/etc)
-Model UN (school affiliated, competitive, currently in first year of doing)
-Robotics (school affiliated, might be dropped next year)
-Looking into some school engineering clubs and/or social clubs (ex. speech/debate, Academic Decathlon, some PolSci/humanitarian clubs (ex. Amnesty INTL, environmental) even creative writing to become more well-rounded), maybe foreign language club other than German to learn
-Only 1 or MAYBE 2 of these
How does the schedule look?
(All are year long, my school does 6 periods/day)
I need help choosing a backup class for freshman year, my first choices are AP CS principles, weight training, and honors spanish 3. My core classes are all either AP or Honors
What are all your classes?
AP Human Geo is a very easy class and is usually the starter AP class
Honors eng 9
Honors algebra 2
AP Bio
Ap gov
AP CS Principles
Weight training
Honors spanish 3
I need three backups
So far i chose computer programming
Yeah it’s kinda free
Nice classes
Thx
What do you wanna major in
You’re doing all of this as a freshman??
Yea
Have you taken HS bio before?
Im most likely majoring in computer science
Im taking it over summer
That way i can start ap bio in fall
Good luck frfr
Thx g
You need to focus on extracurriculars too not just classes
What are the options
Digital art, studio art, soccer, honors health, foundation tech, child care, and graphic novel literature
I already chose computer programming as one
So i need two more
Hmm what are your interests / priorities?
thank you so much
I like art and tech, but i need to improve in essay writing and reading comprehension
Im already taking tech and have a tech backup
Would graphic novel literature really help?
I think it might
Because it would work on my literature with something im interested in
The problem is that I focused too much on math and computers and stopped practicing my literature
Should I take AP calculus AB or BC? My school only offers one semester classes and I don’t want to be too stressed, but I still want to opt out of calculus in college, but will not know if I have to take past calculus 1 in college. I want it to look good on my transcript though. I want to go into healthcare management, so my major wouldn’t rely too heavily on calculus, but what would you do?
Well just know BC involves the topics from AB plus some more so it’s fast paced
I know that BC does, but which one would you recommend me to take?
Depends on ur math skills and how easily learn, plus the amount free time u have, a log of different factors, it’s ur call
okay, do you think bc is manageable if your taking 1 other AP class and you are in a few clubs and no sports?
go for bc imo, never took the AP. but im taking the dual enrollment equivalent (calc 1 + 2) and im chilling
from what i heard BC just covers a bit more than AB
dude, how do you get to do AP calc BC in 10th grade, my school wont allow me
well... there is totally new stuff from AB in the second semester of the high school BC course
some let them take precalc over the summer
is there any way u can prove to your school you can handle it
my HSPT scores
i skipped from doing geometry in 8th to calc in 10th the following year from taking a a placement test
prolly ask ur counselor or smth
calc 3?
is there CC dual enrollment
theres calc 3, linalg, diffeq, discrete math
ah
or stats
theres AP stats
my path is
geometry (rn), (algebra 2 summer), pre calc (10th), (AP calc BC 11th), (multivariable calc summer), and dual enrollment for senior
i mean do you HAVE to take math all four years
yes
u could probably just do calc 3 in senior if you want to relax a little bit
looking through it rn
alr
hm
js me tho im only a sophomore 💀
theres only statistics honors
wish there was ap stats
i assume statistics is higher than multivarable?
\
eh cant really compare them
cuz like calc builds off of algebra and “lower calc”
if ur focusing on rigor then yea taking calc 3 looks better
alr
but from a practical standpoint stats would be more useful
is that class 1 semester?
Does anybody know the college classes I can take through like my community college related to engineering / math in the summer that aren’t too hard. I have taken calc 1
Is this schedule do-able (able to get A's) and realistic for Junior year along with volunteering and managing clubs:
AP Statistics
AP Biology
AP Lang
AP Psychology
Anatomy/Physiology
While also being able to have enough sleep (Ideally sleep at 10PM)
If not which classes should I replace?
I dont think thats doable bro
Maybe i dont know
In my opinion remove 1
Could you send me your program of studies first?
If you don’t want to just give me backup alternate courses but the program would be helpful.
Child Development P
Piano P
Mainly other electives
This is wut I was planning on taking in senior year
AP Chemistry
AP Gov/ AP MacroEcon
AP Calculus AB
ERWC P
Child Development P
Piano Beginners P
Other than that idk what I would replace those classes with
theyre college coyrses so they’re by semester. i took calculus 1 last senester (MAC 2311) and am yaking calc 2 now (MAC 2312)
Oh well I would take two semesters worth of calculus in 1 semester. Is that doable?
depends on the teacher ig, proly better to ask classmates who have done the course
Okay thank you.
does this schedule look good for senior year as someone planning to be on a premed track in college?
ap chem
ap physics c mechanics
ap lit
ap gov us and politics
world history honors
Spanish 4 honors
orchestra
I’m not sure about ap chem and ap physics. if I want to major in biology, would it be hurtful to not take ap bio?
if you havent taken ap bio yet, then id suggest replacing physics c with ap bio
but the thing that concerns me the most is that there arent any math courses listed on there
No plenty people go premed without ap bio
most colleges want 4 years of math
And lowkey physics c is fine because that would put you apart
yeah thats true
Arai is saying the truth tho
if you've already taken either calc ab or bc, you might want to take ap stats or find some other math course that fufills the 4 year math requirement
truueeee or double enroll
I’ve taken algebra 2, precalc, and ap comp sci principles (which counts as math at my school) already and I’m taking bc rn
and I figured that ap physics c would be enough math
I’m probably going to do linear algebra dual enrollment tho
my school does block scheduling so I can’t take ap stat if I take two science aps
help😁👍🏿
do you guys know good places to study for pre-cal cbe
my school has a weird gpa system and to maximize my gpa, i need to make space for some ap math classes
AP Physics 1 🗣️ 🔥
did anyone get applications back from umich yet i ehard they suppoosed to realse it by the end of the month
gulp
yes but I want to take some online
idk which ones are do able for a 9th grader
Decisions don’t come back til Feb 1 for early action applicants
Idk
Help 🙏
K thx
Does AP stats have a huge workload and/or is it relatively hard?
Same question for AP Spanish 4
if anyone has taken differential equations as a HS, how is it? preferably dual-enrolled
anyone know the amt of work you get in AP European Hist
a lot
how hard is it
It isnt necessarily hard it's just a lot
At least in my experience
like a lot of work?
is it easier than WHAP or APUSH
Oh shoot
I thought you said AP WH to begin with 💀
I'm so sorry
Idk how I misread that
All that is for AP WH not AP Euro
God
My apologies
euro and apush go into a lot more detail (shorter time period)
whap is a lot of big picture/themes and ideas
whap is probably easiest but all are great classes!!
So it’s harder than WHAP but easier than APUSH from what i have heard
Hey guys do you guys recommend me doing this
I am a Freshman in High School taking Geometry Honors
I want to take Calculus III
But it is not possible the route I am taking
So, I am thinking to take an exam to skip Algebra II over the summer to do Pre-calculus in 10th grade, Calculus BC and AP Stats in 11th grade, and Calc III in 12th grade
then
ohh
y the rush tho😭
meaning the highest I can get is a 4.0 😬 and if i get a 80-89 I get a 3.0
(If I get above an 80 on the exam I auto skip the class. I am forced)
So I can do Calc III
oh
idk depends on how prepared you are
I am very smart in Math. I learn quick
I just don’t know where to start
This exam is at the summer
it is gonna be hard learning a year long course in a couple months
… You sure? I self-studied Geometry in the summer and now I am acing it with a 100 w/out listening to the teacher 💀
oh then you should take it
fs
it depends cs your missing out on the gpa
but dosent rlly matter ig
cs?
cus
yeah
but it might ruin my gpa right?
because it is a 4.0 class
well, not a class
but yk
that’s why i am scared
but if u finish most of your credits by 11 u might have time to take calculus 3 in 12th
a lot of school you only have to go to school for likr 3 hours in 12th
👍
it’s time to grind 😎
alr learned absolute functions
time to grind 😎 wish me luck
good luck bud🙏🏿
Geometry is light it gets significantly harder idk how u r but don’t underestimate it
should I take ap precalc with ap stat next year?
What grade?
as a sophomore
if you take a course over the summer and get an A in it, how much will it raise ur gpa by?
Matters
Usually summer courses aren’t weighted
So your weighted gpa will go down
But unweighted might go up or stay the swme depending on what it is currently
which is harder: getting ib diploma, or taking ap classes
and which looks more impressive to colleges if you want to go in America, and if you want to go abroad
i honestly think ap classes are harder
because ap classes is just college courses offered to high school students
so what your taking in your ap class is an actual college course
I have heard though that IB HL courses are college courses that are even harder than APs
I think if you’re international taking IB will be easier and will probably be better
Yes
But ib provides little advantage over ap
So not worth it
I’m saying for international
are american universities or international universities better
American
Matters which ones
Is it ok to take only one ap in tenth grade and take another 5 over the course of summers and 11th-12th grade?
Yeah but I mean unless those aps are prereqs you could probably use your summers better
How much does AP Lang help out with the SAT?
Somewhat
Not really
and for what major
opinions on my 12th grade courses?
- AP Calculus BC
- AP Physics C (both physics c in one class)
- AP Chinese
- PE / Senior Seminar (required)
- Personal Finance (entrepreneurship)
- Internship (with a teacher, study hall)
additional details
- im not taking a social studies and english course because im planning to do dual enrollment to finish my english and social studies credits earlier, meaning more class for me to take
- all of my graduation credit should be met with these courses
- PE / Senior Seminar is required because that's where we do our senior project and college application
- AP Physics C is both mechanics and electricity & magnetism
- Internship is a class where i just help a teacher i choose and basically just help them to do whatever (grading tests, print copies, etc.). if a teacher isnt giving us something to do, we just do study hall, great for me to study for my ap classes
- can substitute with just study hall (no credit)
lmk if u want to see all of my courses for 12th grade
thoughts?
That sounds good
is it a good idea to self study aphg or is it one of those aps thats just better with a teacher? my friend took it this year so she'll let me borrow all her notes and i heard its one of the easier aps
also which seems like a better pathway:
chem honors > physics 1 > physics 2
or
chem honors > chem ap > physics 1
for someone who doesnt know what they want to major in
I mean it’s possible but wouldn’t u have to pay like 100$ to take the exam? Is it that worth it?
I like the second option as you already have a background in chemistry to take AP, but if you want to do something that’s more astronomy, physics is the way to go, if u wanna do something more like bio, chem is the way to go
not really sure. im still thinking on it bcuz its another college credit but i dont really want to take the class enough to actually enroll in school
i dont really wanna do any science major but i was leaning towards second (i also forgot to mention all the physics are ap if that changes anything)
yo i got a question, so im deciding if i shud take ap calc ab or bc sr year bcus i wanna be pre med. my pro w ab is that its easy and i will get a high grade. my pro w bc is that it looks better along with i think being able to get rid of my calc requirement at the colllege that i will prob end up at. shud i take ap calc bc for the calc 3 credit or will med schools require me to take calc 3 in college. if they dont require that then theres no point in me taking BC.
If I want to do business administration when I grow up should I take AP Comp dci
jus take comp sci it helps w everything lowk
unless theres a way more useful ap jus take it
can someone help me in private dm for grade 12 course selection?
does it matter to colleges if you self study for an exam or if you take the actual class in school like do they regard one more than the other or is all they care about passing the exam
for ap exams
i want to go into classical archaeology and plan on attending UC berkeley (those r the programs im looking at), classical archaeology itself isnt an undergrad degree, they have anthropology and ancient greek/roman studies as grad degrees, does anyone know if i should take one of those over the other or what?
Taking the class is adding to the rigor of your course load, while self studying is just another score to your list of AP exam scores
I'm an 8th grader who tested into an advanced mathematics and science program. I don't know what to do. There are many pros and cons to this, so I'm not sure what I should do. One of my electives would be removed, along with student council, which has always been a favorite of mine. Is it worth taking the risk and doing the program?
If i want to pursue biomedical engineering, do i hv to take Physics, Chemistry and Biology at IB Level
do u know if u want to do math/scienve
2nd one unless you wanna be an engineer (besides chem engineer)
i love physics and biology and i am looking to pursue aerospace engineering from harvard. any chnges i need to make pls help
it would appear better on ur college apps
Is anyone taking AP chem here
nah i'm taking bio
I am from india and we dont have ap classes in high school
What to do in alternative??
Whatever advanced class your school offers
anyone want to help a brudda out i got some advice from a student at uoft but idk if it fits my pathway
The Indian education system doesn't offer any advance or extra class
So no no
Does anyone know what AP Music Theory is about
I want to take it next year and just want a preview of what I'm signing up for
check college board website, also see if your school has a course description book public
What courses should I take for 9th Grade?
would it be worth it to take linear algebra over the summer before my calc 3 class during fall junior year?
i’ve heard the emphasis on vectors n stuff would be useful but im looking for some outside opinions
It would be helpful but don’t do all those subjects at HL level and also reconsider doing all of them in the same year. Most people do 2 sciences max a year and these 3 are a very difficult combination
it depends on your learning level
If you are smart then take aac and ap human geo if your school offers it
If you don't want to risk decreasing your gpa then I would take regular classes in subjects that you struggle in
because usually aac classes have a lot of homework
I’m aiming for a future as a pediatrician
I have a huge fomo for stunt co tho
What’s aac
Well what courses are you thinking about
That’s a very vague question
In my school there is regular classes, pre advanced classes (Honors we call it differently here), and then ap classes.
If you excel in math and feel confident you could. But for most people it is a really hard class.
I highly don’t suggest you do unless you do biology and chemistry. If you feel confident and your school has different procedures then mine then you should do it
bio and chem is better before physics 😭
instead of asking us questions since everyone has a different opinion, research the content yourself
not even being rude
someone might be saying its easy, someone might say its hard
True
That happened to me
yep
can anyone help?
i am currently immigrating to canada
and need help with the course
like
how school there goes and all that
No it’s basically like a continuation of algebra 1
Yes for most it can be
Hey guys, so I’m not sure next year(my junior year of hs) if I should take ap lang or ap seminar
For context I’m in an engineering course and want to major in engineering
have a question as well, is AP u.s history important/ more appealing to colleges? I know it's ap so course it's better but I'm concerned about burnout for next year..
No really sure maybe if you want to do something in the humanities but I’m taking apush next year too
These are the classes I want to take next year. Any advice?
Math: Algebra Trig
Science: Astronomy & Earth Science (It's a Junior/Senor class but I can ask the office if they will let me take it next year as a sophomore)
History: US History
PE: Personal Fitness
Personal Finance: Personal Finance For Teens
Electives: Art 2, Band, Culinary Basics, Spanish 1
What year r u you n into
I'm a freshman in high school
Like r these the classes ur taking in freshman or r u going to sophomore
I want to take those classes in sophomore year
Alright yeah that’s pretty good
In my opinion u could fit more advanced classes
But like if u think this is all u can handle than take it

Has anyone taken HL Spanish I’m thinking of taking it but I don’t know how hard it is I’m not a native speaker btw
😂
Is this too much for 10th?
AP Precalc
AP Seminar
Bio 1
Apush
Ap chem
Ap stats
Ap physics
Spanish 3
Orchestra
Stats and physics and Spanish are required
Seminar is optional
if you think you can handle it, go for it. you should also have some time set a part for extracirculars
how can u take so many classes
That’s a lot for a sophomore, there’s no way to spread the classes out?
You’re gonna die taking Ap Chem and Ap physics
if your aiming for perfect scores
Spread it out
Quality over quantity
how are my 9th grade courses?
PE over the summer
english hn
world history hn
biology hn
ap precalculus
chinese 4 (placement test to skip ahead)
ap comp sci a
advanced orchestra
my school aint offer that many sophomore
Hey man I’ve heard a lot of things about a lot of classes in this channel, so I’m just reciprocating
I’m not just saying random stuff
Damn that’s a lot
6 APs in sophomore
You do you booboo
is normal chem not a prerequisite for taking AP chem
how can u take ap chem in 10th
?
is calc 3 less like "hard" than calc 2? like obviously the material is more advanced but like is it as much of a "shock" compared from calc 1 to 2? i lowk wanna take calc 3 next year but im already kinda getting my ass kicked 🤣

For us it is but some schools don’t have it as a prereq
From what I have heard, only from what I’ve heard, when you calculate the integrals in calc 2, those become 3D in calc 3
yeah i know but i'm kind of looking for people who... yk. took the course
Ok mb
That’s what I’ve heard tho
I'm currently in middle school going into high school next year and was wondering what some of the better classes/courses/electives were for high school/college
AP Physics & Trigonometry in you're freshman year
yeah same
Depends on what youre trying to gain
is this schedule too difficult?
- AP Calc BC
- AP Bio
- AP Phys 1
- AP Lang
- AP Psych
cuz im just a lilttle bit worried about calc and lang
cuz the physics and bio teachers at my school are pretty good
but if anyone has taken these classes before
id appreciate some feedback
Just for a heads up, physics requires a hell of a lot of critical and conceptual thinking, AP bio is recommended with a strong background in chemistry if you have that, but it touches topics in depth a lot, AP psychology is a LOT of memorization (people say ~150 terms per unit but this could be wrong) , AP Calculus BC goes wayyy in depth in calculus. I don’t know anything about AP lang so I can say anything
Just keep that in mind while you choose classes, other factors should include time for EC’s and taking a break
physics > ap chem?
like is AP physics better than AP chem?
Chem is probably more useful as it touches base in more science subjects
But I like physics more cuz I like astronomy :)
why do you have only 5 classes a year
rigorous
i might take it for my sophmore year
but i need to know if its hard to the point where I need to drop out
That depends per person. Both of them are pretty hard but just choose the one that leans in more with your career choice
none of them does
Real Estate?
i think ap physics is more common
nuh uh
I’d assume physics then

How’s your math background?
pretty good
can u elaborate?
Yeah I’d say physics
But I have a question, what would you do junior or senior year if u take AP physics in sophomore year @coarse sigil ?
?
I said AP chem, AP physics, then xxx (that is the chronological order. Starting AP chem with my sophmore year)
then AP physics my junior
something my senior
Oh well in that case if your gonna take both it doesn’t really matter what order you do them in
i need to get a 5 on the exams

From what I’ve heard it just touches base more than physics 1
the disillusionment of Ivy League acceptances on YouTube got to me
At least u don’t have to take fluids and mechanics 🙄
basically very similar to physics 1 so if you did good on that then your fine
guys date mt sophmore schedule
Hi im gonna be a freshman next year so heres what im thinking about for my schedule:
eng 1 Pre-ap, Precal ONRAMPS dual credit, AP human geo, bio or chem pre-ap, spanish 1, and applied mathematics for technical professionals DC as an elective. Tennis in place of PE
I'm trying to understand as much as I can but it's still complicated so any suggestions would be appreciated.
Man how y’all be taking AP chem as sophomores we can’t even do that at our district 😭
some schools are special
Next year I’m doing (as a rising soph):
APUSH
Ap calc ab
AP lang
Honors bio/chem
Spanish 3
And CCP psych or gov
how bro taking apush as soph
its apwh
Some schools are different ours doesn’t let u take chem sophomore year
ohhh
ohh
Nah you’re good
It is my schedule for sophomore year I’m a freshman rn
You’re good lol
Bros running the gauntlet
Lock in tho you’ll be fine
If ur taking that many aps you prob have good time management
hwo do u take ap world as a freshman
im getting my course selections sheet tommorw and i have 29 days to decide before the meeting woith my highschool counsler
Ok thx
Our school has a stem program and we have block rotations
No I’m required to take 4 of them
Yeah a lot of people take ap chem junior year but I want to take bio in junior year so I can take bio 3 in senior
Yeah
My time management is kind of mid
oh i’m ahead trust they have to make an exception for me
Guys can you help me. I wanna drop out of honors bio because its affecting how much time i have for my Extracurriculars. Also, a college counselor told me its fine cause its not weighted and i am a freshman. Also, i am taking comp sci as the major i am aiming for. Its also affecting how much time i am spending on my other classes, but a lot of my friends are saying that i will regret it. What do u guys think?
we do not have a limit after our sophomore year lol
I mean liek is honors bio a prereq for something
Cuz if it’s a pre req for a class u wanna do
Ok then u can drop it if you want
You won’t “regret it”
U sure colleges wont care. It will look like i quit halfway
The only thing that could potentially make u regret it is colleges not seeing as much rigor but if u are already taking one advanced ur fine
Ye i am taking one ap and two other honors
Alright your good then
so im indian and currently in 10th grade, i have my finals approaching after which i will be going to college, my parents want me to do JEE like all my friends and its exciting but im quite scared about it too, one of my friends says that if i get into IIT it will be good for me to be able to then go abroad and study in stanford or harvard which is my original wish, i have absolutly no idea how to proceed and how this system works so if anyone has any idea then id be appreciate some guidance
anyone? do you think this is too har s
Taking AP Spanish in sophomore year????
Yeah, that’s a little harsh. Chem and physics in the same year will most likely kill you. If you really think you can do it, then definitely try it. But don’t take it to harshly if you end up not being able to do it.
whats what im saying
it’s super easy at my school, i was part of an accelerated program where i finished spansih 3 by freshman (rn)
oh 😃, people told me that i shud take ap chem right after regular chem, plus anyways my junior year will be super difficult then. i have to take physics this year tho
so is it worth not doing ap spanish and doing dance instead
currently thinking about what i want to take for junior and senior year in stem
freshman year and sophomore year, we take bio and chem with no choice (not AP) but i'm currently taking the hardest math track offered at my school
it's an unspoken rule at my school to take physics no matter what since we have to take bio in 9th and chem in 10th (for our college applications)
junior year i'm taking calculus (it should be at the BC level) and i can either choose a science or a math
senior year i'm taking linear algebra and i can choose 2 courses to add
my choices are AP Bio, AP Chemistry, Physics, and Statistics, so basically I have to choose 3
.
Ap chem is pushing it a little
shud i take ap chen now and physcis later then? i want my junior year to be easier
Dont take Chem in general
It’s one of the most difficult classes
And besides with the other classes ur gonna need to drop AP chem cuz it’s just too much
That’s a lot especially for sophomore year
Junior should usually be the most intense
Still not overboard but more than sophomore
okay so should i take ap chem instead of physics and replace physics with danceb
I’ve never taken either (likely never will) but I’ve heard they’re comparable
i do want to take chem tho bc it actuallg contninues to like o chem unlike bio, also at my schoool i’ve heard it a easier than bi
i mean i wanna major in smth bio related
Then take AP bio
It’s wayyyyy easier than AP chem
my teacher said the first unit is all ap chen so i shud take ap chen before bio, also people at my school(like the smartest) say that ap chem is easier than bio
damn im pretty sure i cant do that
and even if i could my teachers probably won't like me that much
Anyone know how AP Physics is?? Do u recommend it ??
im dumb af
There are 4 different AP Physics classes:
- AP Physics 1
- AP Physics 2
- AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism
- AP Physics C: Mechanics
Which one are you asking about?
is 4 years of spanish + AP spanish worth it (5 yrs)
Bro I’m a sophomore and my school won’t let me take AP physicssssssss
What school district
how do u even
did u take spanish in middle school
AP Physics 1
Many schools offer Spanish in middle school
starting language in MS is normal
bro wtf on my whole bloodline i live in the same county 😭✌🏾
online
thas crazy💀💀💀💀🙏🏿
I am a Freshman in High School taking Geometry Honors. I want to take Calculus III. So, I am thinking to take an exam to skip Algebra II over the summer to do Pre-calculus in 10th grade, Calculus BC and AP Stats in 11th grade, and Calc III in 12th grade
Go for it
Here are the bad things
The highest i can get is a 4.0
And I have 900 ppl in my grade alone
Should I do it? Or pre cal over the summer for a 5.0?
I mean calc 3 in 12th is impressive
it is
Well I mean I think u need alg 2 skills for pre calc
So. what would u suggest
Take algebra 2 over the summer
I did that !!
do you need to get a certain grade in 9th grade honors bio to be in chem sophomore year?
depends on your school
you mean skip it?
Yay!!!
like praneel said it depends on your school. but for mine and most of them, it rlly doesn’t matter. however if you want to do ap physics in 10th, yeah your bio matters. but still, don’t do bad in bio 🔥
I’m planning to take AP physics 1 online due to schools policies next yr should I take as a part of my school schedule or outside of school
what are you planning to be when you grow up?
Smth in physics/astro
I really want to study something with a lot of reasearch oppurtunities to let me make new products and materials, but a lot of things that i have done are more english focused than science focused
what can i do?
Is it?
I am taking it rn and I applied to T20s
Oooh nice I’m gonna take that class senior year
How hard is it
Cuz I’ve heard very mixed reactions about it
Some ppl said calc bc was harder but others say calc 3 was one of the hardest classes they took
depends on the teacher
it's not very standardized in most places afaik
my teacher makes it easy since it's all her favorite students
If my Honors teacher recommended me for CP algebra II but my brain is between honors and CP then what do I do
I need help
Well what was ur grade for algebra I
easier route but less impressive or more impressive route but harder and more time consuming?
78.2
Unless u procrastinated like crazy I wouldn't do honors
Ok
Like algebra II was only easy for me bc I just am wired to do math
Have u taken honors before?
Is geometry hard? I'm asking because I might not be able to take it over the summer, forcing me to take it freshman yr
Geometry is a cakewalk if u have familiarity with points, lines, and angles
If u consider algebra to be easy then you'll have no problem with geometry
Thanks
Looking for validation from course selection group

I've heard Chem is rough, any warnings for others? Trying not to completely hate my senior year
Anyone taken college/AP calc?
guys is math extra for igcse hard
take honors
Chem is actually not bad. Just make sure you understand it conceptually and can apply the equations. Ap calc is also easy
Alr, so I got a choice to make.
I could either
1 stay in my current jr high, keep my presidency in student co and work extra hard to get accepted to the best high school in my state (out of district and there’s no guarantee I’m gonna get accepted)
Or
2 go to the advanced math and science school I’ve already been accepted to miss out on student council and miss out on one of my electives/ being totally alone
additional?
i think the 2nd option might be the best option
ur advanced math and science will excel u forward
for all the indian ones here
so
specifically for cbse too
im gonna go into 11th soon
i wanna take science, but im sure as to whether to take pcm or pcb
my father wants me to take pcmb cause i do fairly well in all the sciences
however yknow how pcmb goes
so im kinda confused
as to
what to chose
see
ill keep it crisp
if u want to write JEE take comp sci, if u want to write NEET go for bio
if u have no intention to go towards medicine skip bio altogether
all subjects will get 100x tougher than in 10th
so bio will scale up and itll be really bad
exactly the problem idk what i want fr 🗣️🗣️
see
i know
i covered a bit of 11th bio in 10th and it was 💀 😭
im gonna take pcm
cause
math is
something im good at
and i won't die in 11th and 12th at least
but my parents think that pcmb will "keep my choices open"
nah
biggest mistake ever
dont take bio if ur not sure abt it
y’all i got course selection in 3 days
i need some help
i want to take this automotive repair class buts it’s double blocked and on level weighted
this is the best i can do while trying to balance out my load
any thoughts? what can i do better
imma be a junior
Definitely take BC
Also try to take a language up to AP 4
If possible
Try to AP Physics 2/C
I want to take ap calc bc, ap econ, ap lang , ap us history, Geospatial Science DE , data science , Naval Science 3
is that good ?
I wondered about ap lang
worried
Is course rigor good for a junior ?
I already took bio , physics and chem
don’t like any of them
That’s good rigor, might overwork you
AP lang is not that bad
ah anyone from a levels here, im tryna select my subjexts so yea would be helpful if someone could help
I am currently in 8th grade and going into my freshman year
and im just wondering if yall can help me with my course selection for my core class and my elective
i just need a second opinion
just send, dont ask
writing it right now
should i go all advance for my 9th grade core class
Advanced Geomatry
Advanced Biology
Advanced English
Social studies is different though, there 4 options
advanced Geo
On level Geo
On level History
AP Human Geography
what electives
r u doing world language?
what electives options r there
and do u have to take Pe
then u should continue world language in 9th
yeah 100%
spanish 2
so 1 elective is down.
Spanish 2 is gonna be one of my class for sure next year
do you have to take PE in 9th
i dont believe i have to
i kind of want to do soccer
cross country, soccer, and swimming is something i want to do
well check graduation requirements just in case
but that's after-school right
well what are you interested in
also if u have some weird graduation requirement, better to fulfill it now
take a cs class
i think i can handle it
i mean human geo kinda useless but its an AP and ur prob not going to use history in a future career
no but some of my friends have
hm alright
is it good to challenge myself with hard classes in 9th grade though?
how do i know if i am good enough for them
im taking all advanced core classes
if ur good with managing time
So I’m in my senior year and I have 2 classes that I don’t need at ALL to graduate. So hypothetically speaking, I could fail and still graduate. Should I try anyway?
Take ap human geo
One of the easiest APs
Try in the class? Ofc
Failing your classes will affect your GPA
Even if you’re accepted into the college, they can withdraw your admission because of poor performances in class
would yall say this is a good schedule for a incoming junior trying to major in banking/finance/marketing
Definitely take Ap stats
But yes those are good choices
does your school have macro/micro or is it only senior?
also thats gotta be some massive school
I’m trying to major in Law. Do you guys know any good colleges?
should i give up spanish for AP compsci? im in spanish 3 rn and if continue i could take AP Spanish by senior year, however i may possibly major in compsci in college, but bc i already maxxed out the amount of courses, i would have to take out spanish
Hey I am confused on what stream to choose after 10th
If you plan to take comp sci in college then take it in high school
Harvard law
Take ap comp Sci then
If you want to major in comp science
But I don’t think I have the GPA
I just named one of the top schools
we have macro but thats only senior
alright thanks
it rlly is
Is there any other class you can drop? You usually have to learn a language in college iirc so I would recommend keeping AP Spanish if possible
what I was thinking is do normal pre cal and ap stats
doing both ap is gonna be overwhelming for me
but I'm just thinking should I finish pre cal before doing ap stats
like is it like needed to do good in stats?
How are my 10th grade courses:
AP PreCalculus
AP Seminar
AP Chemistry
AP Physics
Anatomy & Physiology
Spanish 3 Advanced
Gifted & Talented Humanities II (AP World)
English 2 Advanced
Yes, I am a lifeless nerd.
*I’m taking Chemistry Advanced over the summer.
How hard are the engineering courses in HS (like IED, Eng. Science and Digital Electronics) and should I take them in 9th grade?
IED is so easy
and fun
you learn cad software
i did freshman yr had a hundred the whole yr bc my tchr was chill but i still put in effort to participate
engineering science you learn foundations of engineering based physics and how machines work
i am taking it next yr i did aerospace this yr
i’d say both of those are easy idk about the last one
Okk thanks 👍
ye np
how much do colleges care if you take _ number of APs vs relevant classes to you
or is stuff like AP numbers pretty much irrelevant
You’ll want to take a rigorous course load
So it’s not really about the number of AP’a you take but more about taking classes that are challenging you and are also interesting to you
I really need help with the courses I will pick for my Freshman year, the submissions are due of the 16th but I need advice. My parents didn't grow up here so they can't really guide me.
We an only take honors in Freshman, 1-2 Ap's in Sophomore, and any amount of AP's in Junior and senior years. I have recently learned that the rigour of Honors classes themselves are very high. SO far I qualify for all honors but I want to pick the best ones for me.
my parents also want me to take computer science stuff as my electives but I have no intrest in those '
I am looking for more courses that are somewhat going to help me in medicine because it is something I am really intrested in
Like whatever courses that would help me the most
we dont really know your options
also how many choices do you have, vs required classes
Generally, Honors classes are nearly identical to “On-level” classes, but it really depends on the area
I would highly suggest to take as many Honors as you can
For Comp Science, take 3D Modeling & Honors Programming or whatever they offer for electives
Iam an incoming junior should I do In physiology or AP physiology in junior year??
And also should I do IB Econ and is it hard ??
i have a selction sheet with all the offereings
There is a required course for each subject, Math, ELA, SS, Science, and I will be doing French. Each course has 2 levels, Honors and CP (No AP as Freshman). Science has 3 levels, (CP, Enriched, Honors). The rest are electives that are not required. Like for English there is Speech and Debate and Creative writing which are a semester-long I believe. There are COMP science electives for math. Social studies have Psychology, Human Rights etc. Science has a Human Anatomy elective I believe. We also have 2 electives that are built into our schedules, you either pick 2 full year or 4 two semester-long classes. THen there is 1 required year of a Career Course along with Finacial Literacy(Only availible from 10th grade) It all is just overwhelming and I have no idea what's going on
are there course selection sheets?
Hey, is 4 APs manageable in sophomore year (AP pre-calc, AP WH, AP Comp Sci, and AP Psych)? I'm doing well in my 9th grade classes, but I'm wondering if this is a jump I should prepare for in advance, or change my schedule to avoif stress
yeah, should i send a screenshot?
sure
How are my 10th grade courses:
AP PreCalculus
AP Seminar
AP Chemistry
AP Physics
Anatomy & Physiology
Spanish 3 Advanced
Gifted & Talented Humanities II (AP World)
English 2 Advanced
Yes, I am a lifeless nerd.
*I’m taking Chemistry Advanced over the summer.
Doing HOSA, science fair, UNICEF club and tutoring
Potentially also taekwondo instruction
Can you start HOSA in your freshman year?
Yeah
yea, not bad
Here are my 10th courses from my 4 year plan :
Math - Trig (1)
English - Honors Eng 2 (2)
Social Studies - APUSH (2)
Science - Honors Biology (2)
PE - Intro/Advanced Strength (1)
Electives -
AP Pre Calc (2)
AP Physics 1 (2)
Chemistry 1 (2)
AP Stats
Ignore the numbers
Is it a mistake to double up in aac chem and ap physics if i plan to take WHAP over the summer to get out a core-course? My dad is against the idea and says its a mistake. I've also never taken an AP course
Absolutely a mistake
Those are hard courses and you don’t have any experience with AP
Take a few practice exams first and see how you like it
But like everyone does it
and ive spoken w/ juniors and they say that if you study youre fine
If you think you’ll do well, then do it
That’s what I’m doing sophomore year
But what is “WHAP”
How is this schedule for junior year next year -- AP GOV, AP Spanish, AP Calc BC, AP CSA, AP Physics, Cantorum(Choir)
Ap world history
Hey guys, I got a B in first semester chemistry. I don't want to take the AP chemistry course next year as people are saying that the teacher is very strict and grades super hard.
But I am confident enough to self study for it and get a 5. Will that look good on my transcript?
Basically, if I self study for a course and get a 5, will that look better than taking the and doing well on the cousre and getting a 5?
in the end, it’s the score that the college will look at that will matter
though I must say, AP chem is extremely extremely hard imo
^ speaking from experience
I personally wouldn’t recommend someone who got a B in normal chem to self study AP chem
Hmm, do you have to take a lot of AP classes to get into a good college? MIT is my dream but I dont think I could handle more than like 4 or 5 total. I'm taking AP human geo right now and they say that's the easiest, and it's ok, but still a lot.
You don’t have to take AP classes. However, more selective colleges would prefer students that are taking academically challenging courses (like AP) and doing well in them. Tbh, if you can’t handle taking multiple AP classes, you shouldn’t
It would only do more harm than good
Have you taken any AP classes before?
the way the test are done could be pretty different to what you’re used to doing
But personally, I think those classes are easy beginner classes that you should be able to handle
Ok, thanks
I’m planning on selecting courses for junior year. Which one is sort of easier or "better" for a social studies AP: AP Economics (my school teaches both Micro and Macro 1 per semester) or AP Government & Politics (which would cover for the silly single semester civics credit)?
Imo, Gov
If you choose Econ tho, you should go with Macro
ys
do colleges still value that you pick relevant classes to you over APs that aren’t relevant to you or does an AP “look better”
im not going to pick the look better option but just wondering how much it matters
It all really just depends imo, for more selective schools, I would imagine that they would still prefer to have students who did more academically challenging classes
hiii i rlly want to get into some ivy league school or oxford im in 8 grade is there sth that i shud start doing rn
Extra curriculars and volunteering
go to sleep
just know for oxford u gotta need whole lotta cash
has anyone takes gt cs 1301/1331
??? I have to commute..
meow
…
Is AP Chem a good class for a sophomore? It's that or AP Environment Science.
Have you taken highschool chem at least yet? I think APES is an easier option if you haven’t learned the foundational basics of chem yet
Ok, that makes sense. Thanks.
From what ive heard CHEM is debatably the hardest AP, and APES isnt too bad
In my experience, AP chem was the hardest yeah
it's the most difficult subject in the ig system
my school does a thing where if u do ap gov u have to do ap Econ as it is combined (1 semester each)
Have u taken ap chem yet? If not then take APES
what do u guys think abt this high school "plan"
i put some extra info in some cells
ignore the cbe row
black classes r pretty much locked in
u play golf?
yeah ive been playing since like 1st grade
good chance of making varsity freshman year
wts ur handicap im in varsity rn
i havent rly bothered to measure handicap but i avg around 78-83
my best friends brother is in varsity and he and his family have been urging me to join lmao
ofc i still got my own reasons to join
nice
I’m currently a Highschool freshman I have a 4.167 gpa and I want to graduate with academic honors. Soon I’ll be choosing my schedule for next year and I need help deciding. I am 100% taking English 10 honors, algebra 2 honors, ICP honors, and Spanish 3. I can’t decide between AP world history or AP psychology. I want to know the pros and cons of both and which is easier. Then for my other 2 electives I’m considering a law pathway class, some type of art class for academic honors, and AVID which I’m currently not enjoying because I’m not receiving the benefits but in junior and senior year I can get scholarships which is very important for me. I’m just not sure on what to take
Holy shit, thats good, but AP world is a stable i think bc all my friends took it and said it was easy
im in ap pysch rn and its pretty ez, just a lot of terms to know
I’m pretty good with terms and studying last semester for our Spanish final we needed to know like 200+ words but words are much easier than terms
Some of my friends are in it now and say it’s somewhat easy it’s just a heavy work load
do both
ap world is free
lit do the ced
dont rely on ppl here 💀
people that say its easy is based on their own ability
the most reliable source is to research online, ask counselors, or teachers
Im talking to my counselor in a week or so
yeah dont rely on ppl here for "how hard is blah blah"
someone might think smth like AP chem is easy but in reality its super hard LMAOO
I mean go for Ap world
U have taken other classes right
Like what
Like have u taken Ap classes in freshman year
Nope
is dual enrollment gen chem 1 the same level as AP chem or is AP chem the same as 2 semesters
of dual enrollment chem
Well if u have been doing great in normal high school social studies u could give Ap world a try
Can someone give the general level of difficulty and work for Ap chem and Ap bio? Im planning to take them both next year and idk if it’s gonna drown me in work
General Chemistry is the same introductory chemistry course as AP Chemistry (in the sense that they are both college classes, i dont know your gen chem syllabus)
AP Chem is seen as one of the hardest AP’s offered. That’s not to scare you but to give you a reality, good news (maybe) tho is that they’re some good teachers in the world, so I would get in contact with the AP Chem teacher to see his perspective or maybe talk to others who have taken it
AP Biology is generally considered easier than Chemistry but the difficulty is still up there as it’s a Stem AP
here's the course description. how does this compare to AP chem?
CHM 1045C - COLLEGE CHEMISTRY I
Quantitative approach to modern theoretical and descriptive chemistry with appropriate development of laboratory technique. Includes symbols, formulas, equations, atomic structure, bonding, states of matter, stoichiometry, thermo-chemistry, solutions, colloids, molecular orbitals, periodicity and properties.
CHM 1046C - COLLEGE CHEMISTRY II
Continuation of CHM 1045C. Includes kinetics, chemical equilibrium, acids and bases, thermo-dynamics, non-metals and their compounds, electrochemistry, redox, the atmosphere, hydrocarbons, biochemistry, nuclear chemistry, coordination compounds, and qualitative analysis.
?
also i’m a sophomore rn anyone have any feedback if this is manageable and if it’d be better to take something else
Current plan for schedule next year:
AP Physics (not sure if i wanna do 1 or 2 yet)/AP Latin/Honours Algebra 2/Honours English/Honours Chemistry/Modern World History/Honours Dance
Keep in mind that i'm probably going full IB in junior year, so I just wanna take a couple APs in sophomore year but not go overboard
sounds great ashley
ah thank you!
Sounds like a very large workload for sophomore year but if you think you can handle it then that sounds amazing
yeah, but i'm actually not doing too many activities outside of school
only dance, ice skating, swimming, piano and some extra academic stuff. i know most people also take like two instruments or do debate, so my "outside of school" stress is comparatively less - hopefully i'll be fine!!? <3
I’m doing only doing track outside of school and a few clubs and talking way less hard classes… maybe I should step it up.
well, i only do it cause i enjoy the activities!! aside from piano and swimming. my parents make me do those LOL
so long as you're having fun i dont see the need to force yourself to take more things - unless you're genuinely interested in the subjects
for example, i could take AP modern world history, but i'm not a fan of history, so no, i won't do that next year
I mean I could probably find a few more extracaricculares I enjoy as well as I need to pick which classes I wana take sophomore year but focusing on what I enjoy doing is also important
i've planned out my junior/senior stuff too but
it might change as my interests change in 10th grade
definitely, 100000% continuing dance for sure though!!!!!!
oooh yeah i see!! balancing fun with academics is super important
plan for senior year:
ap gov/ap econ (both 1 semester each), ap lit, ap calc ab, apes, ceramics, golf
that's a lot of APs omg
im doin 4 rn
good luck!
thx
Ya right now just deciding if it’d be better to get a C or a B in a AP class or just go with traditional classes and get high B’s and A’s
school is actually going by so fast
1/8 of high school is already over... like, whaaaaaa
high Bs and As is probably better
Dang I heard ceramics really fun
not worth it if you have to put in more effort for a far worse grade
i have to take an art class for A-G requirements so i chose ceramics
but isn't it possible for you to take some APs, and change your courses a few weeks in if they're too hard?
enjoy!!
Same here I chose woodworking though
oh for us we just need a performing arts or visual arts credit to graduate
obviously, i chose dance.
at my school, it is not ez to switch out unless ur failing or something
oh no D:
here we get around a 2 week period where we can switch around our schedules, add or drop classes etc
thts good
yeah... so maybe just take APs for subjects you really enjoy
My school requires performing arts and visual arts
😭
Lucky
we need 1 performing arts/visual arts, 0.5 robotics, 1 public speaking, 2 PE, 3 history, 3 maths, 4 english, 3 language, 3 science
but i think for most of the academic ones i'll be doing them for all 4 years
except for history cause screw that
Mine is almost the same but 4 years for the academic classes and doesn’t require robotics
ohhh i see!!
im probably just gonna get my public speaking credit from TOK
<3
What’s TOK?
theory of knowledge
i should've done honors lang and ap hug during freshman
For mine I’m probably just going to do negotiations
Probably my senior or junior year
oooh
alright then i see i see
good luck
good night! was cool meeting ya
not any im willing or able
theres choir, but its smth im passionate about
and then there's my required classes
and then my sport
spanish is the only thing where im not super super attatched and where I got my credits for already
but i mean ive committed amost 3 years so letting it go seems a lil sad for me still
Oh I see, that makes sense then
you should do what you feel is best
pls I really need to know if I can manage this
For the most part it doesn’t seem that hard but we can’t tell you if you can pass a class or not
how much work are dual enroll classes, cus I have quite a few and want to know what the workload’s right
they’re us history, lit, and a cs class
This is manageable but where did physics 2 go
we dont have to do it if we do calc concurrently
go to sleep
Oh
I wish my school had that
