i think one of the precalc teachers is my ap csp teacher
if i get him, ill be cruisin with a 200%
or however percents work ig
bruh
our teachers purposely avoid giving 100%
"yea so ur answer is right, however, u didnt bubble in the scantron to my liking soooo"
We don’t even have mc choice
its all free response
Mostly
gn
if u have filled out ur required math credit then yea
Okay I’ll do that (everyone I asked said c’s)
I believe you have to concurrently enrolled or have taken calculus to be in physics c
so I am dng my A levels as an intl student from India, and most unis I see have the requirement that I study atleast 4 years of english in high school so should I be taking A2 level english?
french or spanish?
spanish
i got a friend taking french, she be sayin it aint worth it
kk thx
gotchu
these people here are damn super geniuses ik
why would ur math teacher give a f*ck
u taking alg 2?
they dont get paid to care what u do at home
lowkey send me it
itd be nice to get a headstart on precal
genuine cakewalk
geometry was harder than alg2
ap?
what grade u in
why
its got the name ap, so im attracted to it
jus asking
it just sounds like easy ass ap cred
exactly
wrd
no
why tho
precalc is completely diff
but it not as valuable as calc AB
its possible ull do well on calc and fail precalc
not rly
yes
it just algebra 2 with trig
which exam
pre calc is kinda difficult
i also got a 5 on BC
bc
im a senior tho taking calc 3
no
ID study
just take BC and take like a different ap course
bc gets u ab credits and bc
unless u have to take AB
i skipped out into BC
But it counts as 1 ap for admissions
oof
if u take both it counts as 2 aps
Take ab in freshman
Year
And then take bc in sophomore
Free aps
idc about 1 ap for admission
i care about credits
plus i placed out ab so it didnt matter
I don’t care abt credits
-_-
-_- im taking 7
i just cram everything sophomore and junior
no point in senior year
or u can self study for both
its enough
why are u killing urself bruv 6 junior year
take 5 or smth and an honor class
6 aps w sat psat act
what u majoring i?
just don’t do anything in senior year
yoo
it doesn’t matter anywyas
is STEM IT hard
yo so how are class ranks like valedictorian and shi determined
highest gpa
100 point scale
usually weight
oh aigh
The only thing hard is bio there
imo yes
depends on u
Why do u need lang
what grade
ap class are all free
ap lang def not
i hate english
anything thats not physics c is free
and idk about the 5th i found stats cuz our teacher sucks but
who speaks of anything but physics c
yo so is physics required or can i take it concurrently w chem
no any random person can self study that with no base knowledge
even if u take physics c as long as u have good calc base ur fine
what science APs should I eventually take? AP Bio, AP Chem, AP Phys C (Mechanics), AP Psych
all
what do you plan to major in
does your school offer all
idk probably some stem based. School would allow me to take 2 of these 4
Why would a eng major need physics
for the weight gpa
No
L english AP
Seems fine
No
well idc
i only care abt admissions💀
idk
bruh i have no interest in that
so idk
Its a better use of time to focus on ecs
no one really cares abt ur weighted gpa
You do need chem for engineering
Yes if you have time on your hands
Yes usually freshman year would have to take an English class
If you get a 3 or 4 on the exam you would probably get 3 credit hours for it
So if you pass that class you would probably get 3 credit hours which is like half the usual credit hours you need or English
You would have to take a more advanced class that is one level above
It’s a prerequisite for the more advanced class
It does but it would only let you skip your first English class in college
Yes
Usually in college you have to take 2 English classs
Yes
cap
Majoring in arts or architecture
Lmao
guys, harvard has a bachelors of art in CS....not a bachelors of science...whats the difference? how does it impact my future career options
Yo
Can you take more advanced course of english
My high school doesnt say anything whether you can take english courses above gened
Depends on your school, have you asked your counselors?
I will
Just keep in mind that some colleges can choose whether to accept your college credits or not
Wtf is your pfp
??
it doesn't really affect you significantly outside of college, it's just the focus of your degree. BAs are more theory and philosophy-focused and are more qualitative while BSs are more analytical and quantitative in nature.
You'll focus more on things such as English and non-STEM supplemental sources with a BA instead of a BS
Probably, but you must keep in mind that the college you’re applying to can decline your credits
they may have a standard of a 4+ score or not even take it depending on how selective the institution is
i mean theres AP Lang and AP Lit but idk if ur school has those
i wouldn't recommend skipping them or self studying but u can ig
i feel the whole point of those APs is getting better feedback on essays and building literary analysis skills
Yes, but keep in mind that some schools will let you skip both classes if you score a 5 on the exam
Yes if the college accepts the credit, no if they don’t
yea
isnt the whole point of an AP to test out of the classes?
That’s a big misconception lol
A lot of selective schools don’t care if you have a 5 on whatever AP you took
Even if you do, and they want you to still take their class, they’ll simply not accept the AP credit
damn i never knew
did u self study those APs?
No my school offered them thankfully
They didn’t accept all 12 AP credits despite my high scores
no damn way
Yeah
thats genuinely insane
There’s no legally binding contract that requires for the uni to accept any of your college credits
Not from Dual Enrollment or from IB or AP
To show academic rigor lol
that you’re already taking college level classes
Out of everything, IB is a super scam lol
damn
isnt that like international studies?
If the uni is nice then they’ll accept it I guess? It also depends on the major
It is but seriously, how many IB kids are actually going to go out of country to work 🤡
Their “college credits” are even less important compared to AP credits
And if AP credits aren’t getting accepted imagine IB?
Well taking IB also shows them you’re ready I guess
Colleges don’t have a preference between AP or IB
What’s a CCP?
Ohhh so like dual enrollment
my school has a few courses with it
yea but ur not going off to the college
Yeah some schools don’t take it either LOL
Here I call it Dual Credit (and I don’t go off to the college either)
I did over 10? DC or CCP classes as you call it
NONE of them were accepted
Most selective schools are also private schools
Which means they around bound to the same laws or agreements as public unis
I’m going to a selective private school (15th in US) so they don’t want DC credits
what are you majoring in
however, the rest of the public unis in my state will most likely accept the DC and AP credits (with some exceptions based on majors)
Bio for Premed
i could never do anything even slightly related to medicine
I think it’s really interesting with good payout so it’s a good field for me
and i wish u the best in ur endeavors
Thanks lol
Definitely read over what AP credits your colleges accept or not
i think some of the APs im gonna take in future years are like base level for my dream college
yea ive read on the school's website
some of the different things they want you to do in high school
What’s the college
MIT
@_@
ik crazy
i got legacy there so thats my fallback
Omg lucky
Such as?
i wouldve had legacy here instead
calculus based physics
Me going to my uni means my brother has legacy 🫡🫡🫡
i forget what else
Oh, so suggested courses they rec you to take?
yea cuz my mom got accepted but didnt commit to the college
yea
WHAT
suggested = required
YEA
THATS BEYOND WILD TO ME
but its cuz my grandma didnt want her leaving the state
Yeah that makes sense, since a lot of the students there are probably knowledgeable in it too
So it’s good to have knowledge in it
At least the basics
Ruined her future /hj
"basics"
Nah not required, but definitely looks good
yea so i gotta do it
plus i gotta take AP chem and AP bio (i dont wanna) cuz its also on the site
Good luck on APC I hated that
ive heard so many mixed things about it
"its the hardest ap in the school"
"nah its not that bad"
"youre insane if u take it"
"u manage to do it"
Depends on the teacher too imo
I had awful chem teachers so it was one of my only 4’s 😞
nah cuz our teacher who had god status in the school for teaching it retires this year 😭
Omg R.I.P.
im 50 shades of screwed over
still a 4 tho
we take it
chem isn't directly related to my future major so im aiming for a 4
u want 120s?
Sure lol
im hilarious ik
u should take them then
lang helps with the SAT/ACT
lit helps with writing college essays
thats dual credit, right?
uh if ur up for dc lang then yea go for it
my school personally doesnt have that
do u also have lit?
cuz if not u can just take ap then dc
what grade are u again?
freshman, right?
when does ur school allow u to take APs and DCs?
sounds like it yea
its IB
then u can take all 4 english courses then
my school doesnt have IB or HL so i honestly dont know
we just have AA and AP
its like a lil bit faster course than normal
but not as weighted as AP
yea
accelerated smthn
well i recommend lang first
then lit
but idk about dc and ap
im assuming dc is better
i mean AP gives college credit too
but DC is rarer, cuz not every school has that
would taking 2 semesters of DE spanish fulfill higher time-based foreign lang HS classes?
idk, gonna need another opinion here
whats DE
id assume so yea
but id check ur desired college's common data set
see how long they want u to take a foreign language course like that
i think most want 2
i dont know shi abt my desires colleges rn 😭 just trynna plan courses
id ask ur school's counselor
u gotta plan ur courses around ur intended major and dream college
maximize odds of getting in
thats more than enough
intended major? yea bur the second part? idk
well think about what colleges u may want to go to
i mean my intended major is like really stem heavy
so
if there are other courses u want to take rather than spanish, after 2 years, ur set
ig it will play out
what major
what classes are you taking just for reference
plus a spanish AP
prolly neuroscience
itll help yea
thinking about a minor in math
probably bio, anatomy and physiology
high level calculus
Gd
already planning to take those lol
Gohar is goat
great
taking math up to diffeq 💀
absolutely
my school goes up to max multivar calc
work up to a spanish AP and thatll be all for spanish
u can get a study hall in its place
i mean i can get spanish 3 +.4 in if i drop taking organic chem 1 + 2
but i like chemistry more
wtf
then yea take an elective AP
shows ur really passionate about that elective
sounds great
thats the equivalent of saying “is 22 dual enrollment courses good”
like ofc it is
see how u do in ur freshman year first
my friend is doing AP psych and AP world rn and shes managing it
shes a freshman
also chill it might be too much
havent u been told this like a billion times
also maybe talk to your counselor instead of asking random high schoolers online
im doing both just to get opinions
imo don’t force yourself to take aps you don’t want to take
idk tho cuz i haven’t done any aps yet (even tho i prob should’ve lol)
10 AP a year???
Ohh okay that makes more sense lol
I took 12 in total and it would be insane to take 10 in one year
No he means 10 a year
He’s doing 26
Hey
Can you take classes above gened for english
What’s gened
I can’t think of 10 ap for a core class in like one year
You fuckin peasant imbecile
I guess schools are different
whatever
Tf
Yeah
Dang
depends if your school offers it for you or not tho
Not at my school
That sucks then
My school is full of peasants
Hey do u guys know what programs u guys are applying to
bruh no wonder ur school considers u sped
Everything depends on your school’s resources
For college?
Ye
I’m in biology for premed
I had bad bheaviour in 8th im tryna apply for imsa
Am i gonna get in
10-12 year boarding school
1/3rd of applicants get in
What are sum good programs
Like majors
Oh
Intervention classes
That depends on what you want
Finance healthcare or comp sci
well I already got my 2 picks just need sum back up plans
Only real high salary careers
I’m doing biology because it matches with my med school prerequisites and because I like bio
I went for software engineering and economics/political science
There’s mechanical engineering
Political science is near useless
Business administration
Im gonna become a quant
Any other good ones
I don’t know what you would consider as “good”
philisophy
best paying career and most enjoyable with least work hours
What about criminology
wait wtf
dont fail any lmao
alr
gl
what aps are you taking lol
my school offers 28 i think but that’s including art aps
Then do it
Bruh
Did you confirm what high school you are going to?
is taking ap chem and ap bio together bad idea?
i mean if u can, split them up
both are rigorous
but it depends on the rest of ur schedule
i have junior and senior year
likewise
ill take chem junior and bio senior
idk about the other courses ur taking tho
what field are u interested in?
engineering
im tryna get into medicine
ooo i see... thats prob why ur more inclined towards chem
yup exactly
meh not really
id rather physics
ohh physics?
but i gotta take bio and chem
oh nice
ye
im prob gonna do physics C next year but
i didnt do my pre calc yet
is it a bad idea
do you guys think its better to take history or any class actually at a college over the summer and be done within a month or so, or would it be better to take history as an AP class. which one would be more impressive? GPA wise, college is less impressive cuz it's only worth 4.5 points. I want to be a pre med student and aiming for t20s.
oh then dont take both chem and bio in the same year as that
AP class
damn it. alright thanks
well whats the predicament
yea but I think phsyics C required calc knowledge right
yes
some schools require u take a high level calc as a corequisite
would i be fine if i take a calc along w it
yea thats what a corequisite is
or do i need to have completed one atleast before
i dont like history at all. just wanna be done with and just have stem classes
its advised you have precalc knowledge
likewise
go for APUSH
its the easiest history AP at least at my school
ohhh could i do prob do pre calc over summer and do calc ab w physics c
yea that works
check in with ur school's calc department and physics department first tho
are u in any ap social studies
complete opposite at my school from what ive heard
apush
nicee how's that going
also is it just a rumor or is there gonna be a ap anatomy and physio?
best teacher ever
ik theres a ccp anatomy and physiology
here in arkansas we barely got any teachers
ccp being college credit plus
damn arkansas?
we have that at our school
it's apparently really info packed and hard
yea its not an easy course definitely
yea.. theres only dry grass here
its just taking tons of notes and learning SAQs, DBQs, and LEQs
each one follows a similar formula when it comes to answering questions
its not just that, i completely hate us history its so boring
what i do to combat that actually is to meet with friends and discuss US lore
but dont take a social studies AP if u hate history
u got a chance to earn some college credit
or u can screw over ur gpa
i'll prob do
stats, psychology, bio, english, calc, anatomy and physiology, metro in my junior year
yea ur right, but i need that gpa boost cuz im tryan get 6 aps next year
are u a sophomore rn?
yea
which APs
base them around ur intended major if u can
idk how ur school works idk
but at my school u can skip taking all APs all together
hopefully 🤞🏼none
lmao😭
riggt
do u guys have metro
like you guys go out in the work field and help acc ppl for credit
calc, lang, bio, us history, ap research, ap psych or ap anatomy
ive never heard of that, no
good set of APs
id be down to help u out with any APUSH questions u have if u do decide to take it
ty bro, appreciate it
tbh i dont really hate history its just us history, i get sleepy
it sucks at times
ooo i wanna try out ap research
my teacher has it to where we take notes on a 15-40 minute video every night
what even is that
couldn't pay me enough to take that or seminar
i just pretend its like fnaf lore or smthn
is it that bad?
damn thats pain
i just dont like it
my world teacher just makes us do a packet
whats it abt
its mainly like 25 minutes
i think u need seminar first
nah we do all the work
ohh whats the difference
thats tuff man
seminar is just essays and presentations fo rme
my teacehr just has been making us practice for the ap exam
ohhh sounds kinda boring
You could fit more college level classes if you take the one month class
i looked at my grad requirements again and had to change my classes plan so can someone take look at this for me?
10th:
world history (A,B,C)
11th british literature (A,B,C)
algebra 2 (A,B,C)
spanish 3A
Spanish 3B
physics/chem (A,B,C) (haven’t decided)
AP U.S. History
Computer Applications
11th:
AP world history
AP biology
AP government
AP computer science principals
Spanish 4A
Spanish 4B
economics
post secondary prep
psychology (A,B)
12th:
AP lang
AP stats
AP euro
AP chem/physics (depends what i choose for 10th)
college essay
college & career exploration
woodworking (A,B)
sociology (A,B)
Just don’t get overwhelmed by those APs
it will probably adjust after i take my first one next year
Im frehsman taking algebra 1
How do I take algebra 2 in sumer school between freshman and sophomore
well u need geometry first
whats ur end goal for math courses?
maybe u can take geometry and alg2 in the same year
I just wanna take ap statistics in senior
no calculus?
i dont believe you need calculus for ap statistics
in junior
taking calc bc in junior when ur in alg 1 rn is virtually impossible
Does calculus 3 exist
I mean
idk what that is, it varies from school to school
i wouldn't push it
Im swapping to honors geometry next semester
Then can i take algebra 2 summer school
if you take alg 1 in eighth grade (and pass) b/c of a classical program can you go right to the next algebra in highschool or do you have to take alg 1 again
oh so ur in both alg 1 and geometry this year?
Yeah
k so check with ur school's math department about that
Alg 1 1st semester Honors geo 2nd semester
ok
do that to do summer alg 2
that actually makes calc bc junior year possible then
Yes
But I heard preqequisitefor a,lg 2 is 1 year of honors geo
on that note i gotta figure out how to self study precalculus
but extensively enough to take calc bc immediately after
Khan academy
it has that?
thh if ur dedicated enough u dont need precalc
Yes
you need precalc for calc bc
i studied alg 2 + trig during my geometry class last year bc geometry was so boring
and i magaed ti skip to calc 1
and i have like a 97 rn so im chilling
so yea u dont need precalc
its essentially just to make sure your algebra is solidified
ill check back with my school's calc department about that
i will poke at them all year if i have to
but @cinder gorge i think if u put in the work u can get to calc bc senior year
he could get it junior year
cuz hes a freshman
takes summer alg 2
then precalc sophomore
oh he can do that? thats even better
ik my school allows it i should've done it
would it be possible for calc 3 senior yesr
what is calc 3
is that like MVC?
multivariable calculus
ah
same thing
if i can, im getting that mf senior year
not many high schools offer it but dual enrollment can help
yea i can take it junior year at my pace
then imma be done with math in my senior year
💀
like how dafuq are they gonna suggest self studying lin alg but not precalc
eh im not familiar with them either
if i wanted to i could take linesr algebra and discrete math my senior year except i dont wanna
also im not gonna go into CS so
tbh after this year ill already have fulfilled my math requirements
dats wassup
lowk worried for calc2 next semester doe
my dad said it was harder than ochem for him
or around the same level
best of luck to u then
yea
is ur school semester based
two semesters
no
yes
year round
we can't just swap
i tried to suggest taking precalc at my city's local college over summer
but my teachers were like "not a good idea"
why
yes
cuz the content covered in that course may not be enough for calc bc
yea our school calls it CCP tho
im taking that plus the khan academy course idec
my school, can afford a pool but doesnt let us take advanced english courses
my school has made questionable decisions financially
fr
my school is high quality bc its on a college 😭
honestly kinda same
we have free tutoring services whole ass whiteboard study rooms and a huge campus
we're like 3 feet from a university
im tryna apply to imsa
whats imsa
but i had detention every day in 8th grade
wut dat
every day is wild
yes
and they look at behaviour
i gotta get teacher recs about how good my behaviour is and write about my behavior in the essay
then
good luck, man
where u tryna go for college?
t30
Hello
yo
I am the nut man
welcome
@flint topaz Thank you
@quick comet youre welcome
maybe we shouldnt shitpost in this channel yall
Ye
u guys goofy af
only a tad bit silly
Couldn’t think of another place to ask this, but Im currently a junior taking calc 3 and next semester differential equations
Issue is I have no clue what or how I can take next year
I want more calc based math but I’m not sure how to find that or opportunities for it
im in the same boat as you. what career do you want to go in?
well im on track to take multivariable + diffeq in my junior year
I plan on going into engineering, though the farther I get into my classes the more I feel like I'm being pulled into doing just pure math lol
and fair fair
well, have you taken calculus-based physics at all?
instead of pursuing more math try to choose courses that fit your interests of future career
for example i'm trying to go into neuroscience on pre-med so instead of taking linear algebra and discrete math my senior year i'm taking organic chemistry instead
also maybe have a few electives you choose for fun
like i'm doing anatomy and physiology
Currently taking it, hate it so much lmao
and that's fair, and that's where the realization that I may just want to pursue math instead of engineering is coming from
makes sense, I mean I can always pick electives it's just a worry of losing my salutatorian spot and whatnot
i mean i'm assuming you're taking dual enrollment right
bc ive never heard of a HS that offers diffeq
are specific college classes weighed differently?
It's dual enrollment but it's taught at the school
so moreso concurrent enrollment
wdym?
well u said u didnt wanna jeopardize salutatorian
why would that happen if you took easier classes
if theyre weighed the same
yall is taking AP Bio necessary for getting to MIT?
cuz i reaaaally wanna take AP Music Theory but i cant manage to fit it into my schedule
If I took some college elective courses then it wouldn’t harm it, but if I took regular HS electives then it would hurt it
I’m a bit slow lol
then u should be good taking college elective courses
u dont wanna overload urself with work
Take the classes you want to take
yea i get that
but like i saw on the MIT website to take biology
so i figured AP bio was the way to go
Have you taken biology?
i have yes
yea but like my parents told me to take AP bio
engineering
What type
mechanical or software
Why do you want to take ap music theory
cuz i love music
and hate bio
but my parents urged me to take bio
so idk what to do
after seeing the mit website
alr
C in Honors class or should I take the Regular leveled class (which I’ll prob get an A in)
Regular
But B in honors is better than A in regular
shud i double up ap bio and ap physsixsb
AP Pre calc, AP bio (teacher is lowkey bad but nice and it’s hard to have high a) AP World History (easy but lot of work), English 2 (teacher is sooo hard), AP Physics (ik im doubling up science but honestly not sure if i shud), Dance (but i could just take it later instead of now) and theatre production
Are those for soph year?
How hard is Calc 2 comared to Calc 1? I've heard bad things but I want to take it next year
Same with Physics C vs Physics 1
Calc 2 shiuld be fine if you consider yourself strong in math
As for physics C
Id say do physics i or ii before you do C
maybe u can find courses online
do both AP bio and AP music theory just do one online
or, thats what i do currently
im taking too many APs next year for that to be realistic
hm
im meeting with a student from MIT in December so ill ask then but its nice to get all opinions from anyone i can talk to
thx
Freshman in all honors with straight A's contemplating sophomore schedule
APUSH
honors English 2
AP chem
AP calc BC
Choir
Spanish 2
PE
What were your freshman classes?
Honors bio
Honors English 1
Honors world history
Honors Algebra 2
Honors Geometry
Choir
Spanish 1
Pe
Don’t you need precalc go take AP Calc?
or something equivalent to precalc at least? Like trig
Taking summer chemistry and precalc next summer
Ahh I see
If you think you’re able to handle it then sure go for it, though I do notice that you haven’t taken any AP classes last year
I can't take any AP classes this year because of a stupid school policy
Pat pat
Self study
Already am, self studying AP physics 1
AP classes feels really different compared to normal / honors classes imo
But I think the schedule is good
U can self study more
…
Oh yeah, forgot to mention next year include DE calc physics 1 and 2
MIT for example prefers honors classes to AP classes
ignoring grass what made you choose BC instead of AB?
I don't see a very good reason to take AB because it's essentially just the same as BC but minus a few units
Like two I think
just curious, do you have a back up college other than MIT?
Well, you can take both
At different years
Then you get 1 AP for 2 APs
Good value
Fair enough, I personally only chose to take AB because I didn’t want to overwork myself lol
BC went a bit too fast for my liking
You took 12 APs
I'm probably going to be a math or physics major so
And I wanted to ensure that I got a 5
How is taking BC going to overwork you?
Do you have a career in mind?
To me taking the highest level math possible is important because of my major
Physics/Math professor
You can take courses at colleges
Dang so PHD
I am, I'm going to have completed six undergraduate math courses discluding calculus BC by the time I graduate
It’s good to learn ahead, though if you’re going into something major specific like that
Chances are that they wouldn’t even accept your AP credits for math or physics
Damn
Unfortunately
Because they would want you to learn their curriculum’s math courses instead
damn
u doing early action?
Usually AP calc BC credits are accepted
No, it depends on the school
mine didn’t
And I got a 5
You did AB
AP calc, calculus 3, differential equations, linear algebra, intro to proofs, and then probably real analysis
it’s because I’m a STEM major so they want me to retake the course
So five not six, and also AP stats
BC would even be less likely to be taken for selective schools LOL
Well
Yep
Even some ivies accept them
Jeez, that’s laudable
Again, depends on the major
And I think UCLA also does
That’s cool. What’s your EC’s like?
Any specific maths?
They are only in 9th grade
Marching band, mock trial, drama club, I'm going to start doing volunteer stem related activities at the library, studying for international physics Olympiad, biomedical engineering academy, and tutoring
Its too early to decide
I recently picked up a topology book and it seems interesting, but I haven't decided exactly
Math is pretty fun…. When I’m not stressed lol
Wait, you qualified for international physics olympiad?
I recommend reaching out to local university professors to ask for research, also try and rack up awards as you’ll need 5 for the common app
Note Im going for leadership position in most of these, next year I am Color guard Captain, drama club I'm going to become costume captain and join the theater honor society, hopefully become president of biomedical engineering
you don’t need 5 awards for the common app but it definitely looks good
If you like math you should also do International Math Olympiad @fringe barn
I forgot to mention that, junior year I'm going to reach out to a local University that is 5 minutes by foot to ask for a research opportunity, and by that point I would have took in 3 undergrad physics courses with them
Studying for that as well
I am
Well that’s true, but in this case, Ace is aiming for more selective schools, so the more the better. (5 being the max)
Did you do it?
That’s good. I reached out to Yale and I work along side the school of medicine and on track to get paid lol
I replied to the incorrect message I meant to reply to the one about living in the US
Hmmm
You should have already done AMC tho
I'm a New Jersey resident so Princeton is nearby
If you wanted to do math olympiad
Taking that sophomore year, physics Junior
A lot of selective schools don’t like taking students from their area lol
They prefer out of state students
which is really unfortunate
But it does mean opportunities they have like the plasma physics internship is possible
ey! Tho it doesn’t really matter the university, as long as you got some research there. I only chose Yale because I got alumni and it’s really close to me
That definitely helps but chances for admission is unfortunately low 😞
I was incredibly shocked when I got into my uni lol
where do u go?
I know which sucks, but I'm just going to shotgun
Rice
💪🏽
💀
I’m going to delete that before my classmate sees
Nah, can’t take that back
That’s crazy
Dang
You could have taken the student loans
70k per year
at least that’s what the website says
Next year I'm going to be taking intro to mechanics and intro to EM at my local University which I'm incredibly excited for but it means I have to save all this year and next summer to afford the cost
That sucks so much
Student loans would still be incredibly expensive, especially since I want to go go med school too :/
That’s like 780k debt total 😞
You can pay it off when you become a doctor
I'm so excited to die of student loans
2 years salary as a doctor
Do scholarships like Coca Cola
yeah, I’ll worry about the 280,000$ of student loans for only a BACHELORS and finish paying that off in a couple decades 👍🏽
I have every intent to
Well you can pay it off when you become a doctor
No dude, i have to do residency and internships too
So I’ll be paid minimum wage until I’m 26 🤡
Easier said than done bud
Well, when you turn 28 you can pay it off
I'm becoming a physics professor so I don't make any money even at the peak of my career
Do surgery
No
I’ll become a doctor at 30 then
Doing ophthalmology
A rare doctor then
How is bio by the way?@vestal nimbus biophysics seems like a cool area and I'm just wondering what university biology is like
That’s not the median salary
of course, harvard georgia tech is the next big one
wow
that’s an amazing safety school
I like it a lot, the classes can sometimes be hard (ochem is evil) but the labs are super fun!
ikr
What year are you
I’m applying to be a lab assistant next semester
