cause sometimes you can do dual enrollment outside of your school
probably something you wouldn't wanna hear
I just don't know still
O
not medical tho thats definite
I'm thinking comp sci or business
I took courses related with it this year anyways
I would also try to list the aps based on your interest and difficulty
@full tinsel yes, and ap calc
Idc about ur major
I haven't finished calculus mate
I have to finish calculus to get into ap stats
which I can't really do
Oof
I don't think you need to
At my school Algebra II needs to be completed as prerec. to take Stat
It is in my school atleast
That sucks
im finishing that course this year
nvm
Does ur school offer AP Pre Calc?
yeah they will from next school year (24-25) and luckily I'm legit gonna be in pre cal that iether
not year before or after lmao
@cedar sparrow my honest tip to survive high school is to finish the stuff as early as possible, this is going to make more time for whatever you need
Actually
I'm tryna finish all my requirements early with the credits I need and start doing college aps and research
Just knock out ur grad reqs before focusing on major
Like my freshman and sophomore year am knocking oht credits
well you can double geometry and algebra 2 I believe but the rest of math is you have to finish the one before to get into the next one
My junior and senior year I'm taking APs related to Astrophysics
ie (finish algebra 1 to get into geometry)
I have to figure out which ones I need to/wanna take next year
I'm targeting 4
My junior
ap sem, apush, ap cal, and apes
or might take apush off and go for something easier
since sat load comes in too
I'm gonna take AP Lang, World History, Physics I, and Stat
@cedar sparrow heres a tip that I usually do, try to go for any dual enrollment/college credits outside of your school. This makes you way ahead of others and allows you to graduate college early
like if there are opportunities for high school students to take college credits at a community college
Idk
Yeah there is but I simply am so clueless rn
I'll try to do some in the summer but again I have to do sat prep
I'm taking the SAT in fall of 24 so
and psat next month
The only problem with dual enrollment is that those credits may only apply to a certain set of colleges
@full tinsel true
but you can send that transcript to colleges
sort of like having 2 gpas
Yeah
I also alrlooked the classes my maybe major would require and what the college i wanna go into
and stuff like that
I mean it depends on wat schools ur appling to
for instance, I have a 3.84 weighted gpa at my high school while a 4.5 gpa weighted for community college
but it depends on the school
also heres a great tip
during summer, there are usually opporunities at universities for college credits
some are free due to scholarship while others need to be paid
but you can also do CLEP exam
on college board
depending on the university
its a pretty darn useful tool
Like I plan on going top g school
it really is
I learned a bunch of stuff of college board
Like Ivy leagur
yeah I've to figure out I lwk felt like I wasted this whole summer
it was the end of 9th
@cedar sparrow tbh, you shouldn't worry much at th moment, but definitly start strong this year
also...
yeah 10th and 11th matter a lot
don't be afraid to take opporunities
Tbh in 9th grade, the only thing i rlly did was apply to research programs in the next summer and study for PSAT
@full tinsel thats good bro
I applied to UCI STEM Program
I took volunteering opportunities in the summer and I got about 70 hours already and I'm doing about 3-4 each weekend
Or more like an interest form
once I get to 200 I want to stop
I just need it for colleges and high school requirements
well my school requires only 100 but
I wanna go beyond
@cedar sparrow tbh, community volunteering isn't really helpful and it isn't really required for schools
I've got like 160-170 service hours (service hours r mandated in the state of maryland)
if I can
I took part in a community service project as well
I recommend getting internships during junior year and senior
I don't even think that is simply possible
it is
It is
I took one last year
I may not do it tho
I was planning on getting a job next year and learning how to drive
and a business research for a start-up
Cuz they are considered periods at my school
So they'd mess up my tight schedule plan
Maybe summer internships
Or a research program liek I applied to
@cedar sparrow usually, I would try email small companies if they need any help with researching or something related
this can bring a lot of potential
I also put out an interest form to Johns Hopkins CTY
@full tinsel ooo john hopkins
They offer online AP Courses strangely
as long as it isn't a self-study then you should be fine
cause ap physics is not worth for self-studying
unless you know people that had past teachers and resources
Yeah
I'll also overlap that with Physics C at school
Cuz Physics C is Physics 1 and 2 combined just with the calculus
hmmm thats good
oh yeah about physics ap which do you have to go in order or what
physics 1, 2, then 3 or how does it work
Physics 1
it depends on schools
Is newtonian physics
Physics 2
Is electricty and magnetism
A little bit of nuclear and quantum physicd
Physics C
Is both of them just with using calculus
so physics 2 and C is basically something I have to be in calculus
Yeah
ok so I have to finish calculus to do those two?
Yeah
One is basic mechanics
Like forces on an object
But I'll take Physics 2 online
It's just Johns Hopkins CTY requires i send in test scores
So imma take the SCAT ans try to score high on math
k
What's that
Test at the Johns Hopkins CTY
Interesting
Hi, I am currently selecting subjects for yr11. I am considering on becoming a doctor, and I am not too sure wether I should take 3 sciences or 2 sciences. Any suggestions?
What are your options in science?
IGCSE biology, chemistry , physics
I’m not too sure if I Should choose 2 sciences or 3
@fast oxide uhh im pretty good at english
Same
@fast oxide but more imaginative than persuasive
Due to the fact that you want to go into the medical field, I would personally recommend taking Bio and Chem.
I am about to enter my Sophomore year and my councillor is saying if I want to get into an ivy I NEED physics despite the fact my degree has nothing to do with it. Is this true that I have to take physics?
Are all 3 sciences needed though?
I don't know if it is true. Though, physics is one of the main subjects recommended to take during high school if you want to get into IVY.
Um, I'm not fully sure, I'm personally not in the IGCSE system, so I'm not fully sure, sorry. But, because your going into your year 11, I would still recommend taking both bio and Chem as it is career related. And, if physics isn required you can take it towards the end of HS to allow yourself to have a break.
Thank you so much ☺️
Of course! I'm sorry if that advice wasn't super helpful
Is anatomy and physiology honors hard?
It depends on what you mean by 'hard'. There's a lot of memorization and deep analysis from what I heard.
Memorization is the biggest thing
Can someone give me some tips for my senior year schedule: Advanced data Structures, Advanced object oriented design, discrete mathematics, English 12 AP, Comparative Government AP, Psychology AP, Macro/Micro economics AP; Especially Comparative Government AP since I am debating taking that class
What's the difference between trigonometry and algebra 2
What's r u gonna major in?
Precalculas
While Algebra 2 is essentially just a continuation of a algebra 1, solving equations, functions, etc... Trig is focused on the properties of sine, cosine, targent and cotangent and there applications and uses
Computer science or computer engineering
Um, I'm not sure🤔. When I took algebra 2, it had integrated trigonometry, so I technically took both simultaneously. Algebra 2 is definitely necessary for trig as it presents the basic aspects of the trig concepts. So, if you are able to take one and then self study the other, I would recommend taking Algebra 2 and then self studying trig.
is this a good schedule for a high school freshman? i'm interested in majoring in biology or medical sciences in college. (crossed out class is irrelevant (school thing) asc is a study hall w extra support)
Did u alr take AP CSP and CSA?
Is csp or csa harder
Cuz my svcool requires u to take csa before csp
I took ap CSA
Ap CSP at my school is useless
Yeah
Wat about stat?
If u want to get into CS, I'd reccomend math courses
Like Stat and Calc
What’s is a good excuse to swap my classes but just a switch the times
What is sports psychology
I didn’t ask for it but I got put in it
I can’t even change it now
Were you late with subject changes? Sometimes you get put into a class because of that or there are too many students choosing your desired courses. I'm so sorry about this. Did you talk to your school counsellor or someone regarding this issue?
No
They just put me in it cuz it’s a new class that got opened this year
As a Canadian high schooler I have no idea how you can have biology in freshman year and we don’t even have lifetime health as a course. Btw wth is asc and algebra, what grade of math is algebra
my school offers you to take both geoscience and biology if you want. then i get 2 science credits done in one year. asc is just the most supported study class (chosen by my counselor) and i think algebras equivalent to 9th grade math
So asc is like self study????
basically
i think there's eas (educational assistants) or an extra teacher to help but basically
I was planning on doing it but I heard it won't fit in my scheduele apparently
Was it compulsory?
maybe remove watching naruto out of ur schedule
I see now. Did you speak to your parents about it? Maybe they can book for a meeting and explain to them that you don't want to take that course.
Do i need any prior experience?
No
hey guys, i was wonder what AP courses i should take in hs any suggestions?
Well guess wat
The 1st and only question to ur question:
What do you want to major in?
anything math/sci related i dont mind
Alr
AP Stat
AP Calc AB and BC
Depends on ur science major
If ur going into physical science
AP Chem and the Physics APs
Lots of colleges also want to see you be well rounded in your classes
So taking a few AP english and history classes wouldn't be a bad idea either
Also taking APs to fulfill grad requirements is not bad either
Taking AP's in general has it benefits, even if it's not in your major
Yeah that's my plan
Just take em for my grad requirements and for my major and interests
Should I take ap bio outside of school while taking the regular us history class? I wanted to take apush this year but am instead taking american lit, french 3, apcs, app1, and pre calc honors. When I mean I'm taking apush outside of class, I mean that I would be self-studying the material. I plan on buying two different textbooks and using the khan academy course to study for the exam. Will I be too stressed out and fail? I'm not the best at self-discipline or time management, and I've never been able to properly self-study for a course without failing. Although, when I do commit, I am very good at memorization. Still, I would really like the ap bio since it's an important and interesting course and I'm trying to save money when it comes to college.
Hi! I was wondering what subjects I should take in Yr 10. I’m not sure what I want to major in in uni.
I believe that taking ap bio in school is a better option than taking apush in school. In my opinion, apush is easier to study compared to ap bio. Just my personal suggestion ♡
Can you show us the subject list offered by your school?
I can’t take ap bio in school, I took the physics route
Sure I have been accepted to a different school as well. Would you like to see both of their subject lists because I’m not sure which one I’m going to yet.
Ohh okay. You can always collab with people good in bio to help with studies too.
Of course! You can dm it to me both if you want ✨
Ok I think u have to accept my dm or something
Oh Alr thanks yo
I’ll try do that
Good luck! God bless you 🙏💗
Thanks
Guys I have 3 Ap classes for sophomore year rn
Is that good
Might take 4+ junior and senior year
"The more the merrier"
Quick question, do you guys think that universities accept AP classes credit if I took the course online (My school doesn't provide a few AP courses)?
yea ik but currently, those are my weakest subjects so i dont think its a good idea to start AP on those immediately since they are also one of the hardest
Makes sense
I'm now a senior and I'm taking AP Lang, but my school offers AP lit and most peers who attended elite colleges have already taken AP Lang as a junior. Is taking AP Lang as a senior a bad thing?
no.
hey guys how many years of history/social studies is required for MIT
Do not self study Apush
Ap bio is far easier to do self studying. Apush is all about the writing it’s not really about history tbh
From my experience
how bad would it be to apply for biochemistry major without taking ap bio
if you’re applying to a selective school
Check the website
No clue how bad, but it’d def be a good thing to take it
Every person ik who is goijng biochem has taken ap bio and vice versa
And the schools they get in are highly selective
AP Chem, AP Bio, and APES would be good for Biochem
is Honors math and Honors chemistry good for engineering
I believe they only require two years but highly recommend four
I feel like it wouldn’t be too hard bc I’m learning a lot in the college prep class
Can you self study ap stats
yes it's one of the more straightforward ap classes to self study.
But you should not self-study unless it pertains to your major. Here is a message I wrote before if you want some reasoning
Message: #course-selection message
Probably not
They need 3+ to pass and I don’t think you can take ap exams online
Okieee ♡
Is Spanish required to go somewhere like MIT? If so how many years
Hello I am in a predicament right now because I Got Put In Study Hall how do i get out
i want a better elective
Most high schools require foreign language to graduate. Check with your school counselor on that.
MIT and other colleges recommend 3 + years of foreign language
Make an appointment with your school counselor. Be aware that sometimes schools won’t allow you to change classes
My school has no requirements on Foreign Language. I was asking to see if their were any requirements for MIT since I know most colleges require 2 years. I planned to do 2 years of Spanish, and instead of the 3rd year do something else like AP statistics. I was wondering if one would give me better chance than the other.
Ap Bio is fully not easy to self-study
I might not have expierenced it but I know other people have
do you know what specifically is hard about ap bio? If it’s just content, I’m pretty confident in my memorization skills
I would mainly just say the content and its a quite time consuming class
but if you are up for him go ahead
you aren't allowed to take it in your school?
the rigor of the coursework would probably be one
and there's not a high pass rate on the ap exam
I have to take chem honors as a prerequisite, but I am trying to find out if I can just take it without
Pretty sure MIT has 2 yrs of foreign lang while most have 3 with the exception to Harvard and Princeton who have 4 yrs
Check out their website https://mitadmissions.org/apply/prepare/highschool/ and you can check this for any college if you type in name of the college followed by academic preperation
hm alr, thank you for your advice
Also I think for college credit eligblity u need to do some labs and keep the lab reports
Smth like thay
That*
ooh okay, thank you
schedule
any foreign language?
yea, that's why its called foreign
I recommend Spanish Latinoamérica or french
Quick Question,
My school doesn't offer any foreign language courses in high school, so if I self-study for a foreign language AP like AP Spanish or AP French, would it fulfill the requirement for colleges?
yeah, it's possible, many colleges require at least 2 years of a foreign language, but some may accept self-study or AP exams as alternatives. it's best to research specific college requirements or talk to an academic advisor to be sure.
Thanks!
yw!
How are you taking ap calc bc as a sophomore?
If he was just advanced back in middle school
I took algebra 1 in 7th grade, geometry in 8th, algebra 2 in 9th, Pre-Calculus in the summer after 9th, and now I'm going to take calc
Idk how the person you replied to did it
But that's how I did
how to do precalculas over the summer
Will selective STEM colleges not like it if you don't take calc bc but just self-study for it?
I've already taken AB
Wont be that big of a deal
But kinda depends on the college
Replace that class with a still rigorous class
If that’s what you choose to do
I'm taking a one-sem Dual Enrollment in calculus through ASU
But it doesn't cover series and some of the BC-exclusive stuff
which why i'm self studying for the bc exam
GATech in-state is my main target
Calculus 1 or 2
I’m gonna assume 1
Bc you don’t cover BC material
Limits and continuity, differential calculus of functions of one variable, introduction to integration. Not open to students with credit in MAT 270. Enroll requirements: Prerequisite(s): MAT 170 or 171 with C or better, OR Mathematics Placement Test with a score of 60% or higher; the Advanced Math Placement Test with a score of 38 or higher, OR ...
Looks like calculus 1
So this is a calc AB equivalent
What grade are you in
I'm a senior rn
To take BC?
To take the BC exam
It’s only a few units
Of new content
And then it’s just adding onto what you learn in AB
And assuming the dual enrollment class teaches you everything you need to know for AB
It’ll be a fast paced class
But still doable I’d say
That's what I was planning on doing, but was just worried that not actually having the hs credit for BC would hurt.
Well you’re already taking the DE class
Just make sure you didn’t swap out BC for an easy class
But replace it with an honors or other rigorous course
Yeah it’s an AP class
TYSM for your help!
Can I take APUSH without taking US History 1 or is it a pre-req
I think it depends on ur school
Like my school has prereqs for everything, but I have a friend who straight-up took AP Bio in 9th, without ever taking the HS course
Depends on your school
But like if I don’t take us history 1 will I be confused in Apush?
I did it on FLVS.net
Florida Virtual School
I think they allow you to sign up from out of state though
With FLVS flex
Nah its free i take FLVS classes too (but I am in florida)
I think you should be good
Anyone know where I can take AP Physics 2 online?
kuak academy definetly not
edx
You can check out eAchieve Academy, which offers an online AP Physics 2 course
Paid?
hey guys i have little question and I need some advice . im a freshmen right now, and I need to chose between pe and orchestra. i like my pe class (not a lot tho) and ill have to take it sooner or later. however, im thinking about taking orchestra because ive heard that taking 4 years of a class like orchestra is good for college. the thing is though ive heard its good because it shows commitment, but Ive already played my instrument for 4 years (8 by the time i graduate), and I will be attending a out of school state orchestra with some of the best musicians in the state for 5 years when i graduate, so i think these will aready show some commitment. in addition, the main thing besides commitment is accolades like all-region and state Ive already done all-region and i placed well enough that i dont feel the need to try again. I cant do all-state this year anyways, because you have to be a sophmore or older. Itll also lower my gpa in the long run. So the only reason that I would join is to be able to say that ive taken orchetra for 4 years. Would it still be beneficial for me to take orchetra so I can have 4 years or should I just join next year and stay for 3 years?
TLDR: will taking 4 years of school orchestra be benificial for college? Would it be if im already going to be in 5 years of out of school state orchestra for my EC? and is there a big difference between taking 4 and 3 years?
Nothing you do before freshman year counts unless you continue it into high school
So take that as you will
Any awards you get before 9th grade don’t count
Neither class is gonna do much to boost your gpa, so take the one you like
Sounds like you want to take band/orchestra nuch more
Bc you’re already very committed
Completely free
Although if you take an AP on there I think you have to pay for the exam
its showing $950
How much time does it take learn python for someone who has no prior experience
depends on how much you want to learn. Enough to build a simple calculator or enough to make a file manager?
could take anywhere from 2 weeks - 2 years
all depends on your goals
I want to get to an intermediate or pro level at python
and do what?
do you have any goals in mind?
python is very broad and you can make websites, apps, games, databases, etc.
what's your plan/reasoning for learning it?
For majoring in cs
idk about that but I like python
to just learn the general fundamentals of python, I would say if you're completely new to programming, it would take maybe 1 month - 4 months 🤷♂️
once again, I can't say for sure since I don't know at what scope you want to learn
but everything up to classes, file managing/reading, data processing, file handling, modules, etc. might take like a month or more to fully grasp
Can we create mobile apps using python?
python doesn't offer any native mobile app capabilities
just to make a website, you'll have to use a framework like flask or django
dont use python for mobile apps or websites if that's the goal
Then what do we use python for?
Python is commonly used for developing software, task automation, data analysis, and data visualization. Since it's relatively easy to learn, Python has been adopted by many non-programmers such as accountants and scientists, for a variety of everyday tasks, like organizing finances
Oh ok
So I have interest in game development and web development what languages should I learn?
game development, go the C++ route with unity game engine OR use python and the pygame library
for web dev, go with javascript
I'd suggest going for C++ with the unity game engine, it'll be more fun and you can develop a hell lot of game features in it
maybe it has a fee for out of state then
was free for me
ah, yeah, my bad
Hey gohar can u make a series’s of college that goes with a course
Isn't the unity game engine paid?
theres a free version
Can someone give me any good youtube channels to watch for ap bio
khan academy
is honors chemistry and honors math good courses to have if you want to persue an engineering career?
I also picked AP Human Geo and AP Computer science principles
Geometry would be a great start
And take any CAD related electives
Physics also
Ok
does it really matter to colleges if i do an "easy" ap rathar than a "hard" ap?
No
Junior Year: AP Bio, APES, AP Latin, AP Psychology, AP Gov., Dual Enrollment Econ, Dual Enrollment English, Honors Pre-Cal
barbie gona make ken do alll the work
good choice
Ty
Smart Barbie
First time this happend
Major?
That is an insane course load for a junior.
But you do you! I respect that you're challenging yourself.
That being said, double check which APs Boston College will actually accept. No point in passing the latin AP exam if your college doesn't accept the credit.
not insane
5 APs
Only?
Accounting or Business
Is the APES or AP Bio required at ur school?
No???
Why would ap classes ve required
No
I mean like
Are similar classes required
In which you could usually take the AP Version
Do u go to their school?
Hey I’m 13 and am trying to get into MIT when my time comes anything I should study in particular that can help me?
Just do wut u want.
Whatever major your like
No
I also had AP Chem but I dropped that crap
Ok
It's just that for APES and Bio, that doesn't seem that related to ur major in busniess and accounting
I'd take AP Macro/Micro as well as AP Stat and AP CSP and CSA
does MIT look for classes in arts
Look on the website! But if you want a straight answer, an art class is not required, but classes in “arts” such as music, photography, videography, etc. usually are highly recommended to take.
Google MIT Common data set
Shows u classes they prefer for u to take
Use it as a guideline, but go after classes pertaining to ur major
so i’m taking English 1 Honors/pre ap at my school right now but the teacher is notorious for being an extremely hard grader
last year only 4 freshman earned an a in hee class (highest was a 92, most was 89.6)
should i level down to on level even if i plan on taking english aps?
btw i’m majoring in a science subject
Do I have to take AP classes that pertain to my major or can I just pick any AP class
try AP pre-calc
if school offers
AP classes also depend in school bc my school doesnt offer that many AP and teachers only have those classes for specific blocks
I have a question on my courses I’m going into senior year and all my courses are academic would that make it harder or is it the same work
Any, but ones related to your major should be more of a priority
school classes' diffuculties don't matter on which grade you're in
Oh ok
?
report her to the schoo
set her class to fire
(not acutal fire)
lol she probably has a secret relaitjonship with the principal
just be carful and find some proof do some investigating
Can taking engineering in high school increase your chances of getting into college for engineering majors?
(engineering programs)
Not at all! It shows interest & dedication
Yea cool that's what I thought that 3 years of engineering would show some commitment
Soo currently a sophomore taking APush, AP world, IB math, and AP macro/micro
Is that rigorous enough 😭
Istg I keep questioning everything
Dude how are u doing ib and ap both?
For me, I’m doing the full ib diploma, HL English, HL bio, HL chem, SL math, SL history, SL french
yo I am soon going to start grade 9 which courses are suggested if I am aiming for Harvard
Be passionate - there is no substitution for genuine interest. Dig deep - show that you care and show that you love what you do.
AP, DE, IB, and honors courses all a good way of showing course rigor
Thanks man! Appreciate it
Is there a place on the common data set for colleges, so I can see the classes that the people that were admitted took in high school?
So that I know what classes to take as a freshman the next few years?
are there any courses that I can get a scholarship for within Japan
other than APU which I'm trying for
Take what u like
Agreed
Take the hardest classes according to what colleges you may wanna apply to
Not that I know of, but you can also find tons of YouTube videos of people telling what classes they took in highschool - you can likely find at least a few for whichever colleges you're wanting to know for
currently I am freshmen and I am taking two AP classes and 2 honors classes
is that good
???
yeah that's great in my opinion, most schools don't allow freshmen to take APs, so it's awesome that you're able to at yours and that you're taking that opportunity :)
i know freshman hwo are taking 7 aps so i wouldnt call that good but its okay
It depends on the context of your highscool
If every other kid is also taking the same classes as you are, that wouldn't be so good. You would just be an average student just like others
I have one week to change my freshman schedule. Here it is
Hon English 1
Hon geometry
Hon algebra 2
Hon world history
Hon biology
Pe
Lunch
Choir
Italian 1
What do you want changed?
I don't want anything change I'm asking should I change anything
Nah it looks good to me
Okay cool
It is a better schedule than mine is right now as a Freshman
What's yours?
Hon Math 1
Hon Earth and Space Science
Hon English
AP World History(My school allows AP freshman year)
Orchestra
Italian 2
PE
And Freshman Seminar which is basically study hall and is required
What do you want to go into?
Some field of engineering
Looks like a fine schedule to me,
Thanks
how do some freshmens take 7 APs?
oh
some kids at my school are taking
5
and im a freshmen
they take ap bio, human geography, computer science, for any language, and ap pre calculus
im only taking 2
☠️
who does or has done A-lvls in the UK here i need some sorta advice
wait
how are freshmen taking ap pre-calc
I don't have AP bio but I have honors chemistry
also
I can only take 6 classes
They were way ahead in Middle school
Every Highschool's different
i hate mediocrity
ez
Mediocrity is fine!
If you strive to be the best @ everything, you end up being mediocre at everything.
Choose to be good a handful of things.
Good point
that was my personal opinion
Looks like a great schedule you have a good balance between a few easy courses and a few hard ones
FEW HARD ONES?
also check with your conselour what credits you need to graduate your school
as all schools have diff requirements
He has a few honors classes those are somewhat hard still
I understand AP classes are the most difficult ones
but atleast he's not taking on level algebra geometry and english
and history
nice
the only reason u think the schedule is great is because hes talking italian 1
I want to Major in Cyber/Forensics
nice what is that
never heard of it
bruh seriously?
Its basically Solving Computer Crimes and Ethical Hacking
Nah not that, you deleted that chat 🤣
oh i didnt read carefully
You basically walk out with a Bachelors Degree and $90k/year and work your way up over $100k/year
oh yeah funny thing i just got released from prison this morning after being a computer hacker
😎
Lol
fr?
💀
Another one who doesnt understand sarcasm
do u know what prison is mr computer protector
😂
agreed
Too bad
ur very beautiful irl
The world's too harsh
(i just know it)
Cringe
Not true
Prove it young man
how old yall
Not the place for this convo guys
i was born in a family with an annucal income of 2M
is this guy a legit troll?
12.999999 but lucky i just turned 13
Troll
what was ur qurstion btw?
What Transfer colleges have Cyber Forensic Programs?
gmu has a masters program for it
sure
yes if u hv time
Am I allowed to take AP pre-calculus if I took algebra 1 in 8th grade?
that depends on ur skool/district, i suggest u ask them
If you are a high-achieving student, what is the highest class you can take before high school
the highest class your school offers
what rhe hell
Ull need the credits for geo, algebra 2
Realistically speaking, if you wanted to take it as soon as possible, you could do geometry your freshman year, Algebra II over the summer, and AP Precalc sophomore year
you can take courses over the summer?
Yeah. I think that is also called summer classes.
Or summer semester course.
Summer programs even
You could do it earliest junior yea
or senior year if you don't do it over the summer
Not the same exact situation, but:
-Was in Pre Alg
-Tested out of AlgI (plus a summer course to prove credits)
-Took Geometry/AlgII simultaneously
So if I went on normal pace, I would currently be in Geometry; doing AP Precalc right now. However, would rec being pretty decent at math. Precalc touches on a lot of AII, so at least be solid at Algebra.
wow ur skool let u take geom AND alg 2? How?
Zero Hr.
many schools do
oh, i don't think my school does
ok cool
we have this math pathway, but u cant take 2 classes at once
im taking 3
in junior or soph
ur in college or high school?
college
oh sorry any suggestion where i can get it
idk if i should take data analyst or psychology
i rlly like math and computer but i also rlly like psyh
dable major time
What year would you normally take physics in highschool?
in my school its 9th (we don't get a choice) but my school's not a typical high school
I took it 9th and 12th
There’s not rlly a normal time to take it
Every school is different
Ah kk thanks
has anybody here taken human anatomy & physiology
Just ask your question, someone will help
This is the hardest schedule my school allows me to take. At my school freshman aren't allowed to take any AP classes.
What courses would you say are easy?
Non-AP, non-honors, non-IB classes
Typically seen as easier classes
I'm talking about my schedule that I posted earlier, it is
Hon alg 2
Hon geometry
Hon English 1
Hon world history
Hon biology
Choir
Italian 1
Pe
Lunch
Read message above
AP
well then
its okay
Okay then
What courses are hard?
ap chem
I'm taking that course sophomore year so that's going to be fun
yeah for sure
imagine going from 0 aps to ap chem 💀
Combined with AP US History and AP calc BC
ap calc bc ez
ap ush lot of work from what i heard
very teacher dependent
Arent u taking geometry and alg 2 rn?
Ah
ez precalc
Ok
just self study
damn nice
calculas bc ez
I did precalc + calc ab sophomore year at the same time since I couldnt take summer courses
My School makes you take a precalculus course so doing it over the summer would be optimal for me
u gona take multivar calc
awesome, I know a kid who did the same
Junior year along with ap stats
ez
ima take 6 aps and 2 dual my junior year
It's the popular option in my school for kids who want to do stem
I'm in my sophomore year and still haven't taken any APs yet 😂😭
and 5 aps my soph year and self study precalculas
nice
Question@proven totem what class are you in right now?
which one
I mean are you a freshman or a sophomore or what
see my roles
Are you a freshman right now?
yah bro can u not read
What is your schedule right now?
nice! just wondering, do they typically take any math-related courses during their senior year, assuming they take both AP calcs in sophomore and junior year respectively?
Because I would like to compare to see how I would stack up to people I would be competing with when I apply to college
bro was gonna actually believe
Yes! My school is in a college town so if you complete all of the math courses you can go across the street to the science Hall to take math courses if you want
algebra 2 bio
debate
ap human
ap csp
ap phgsics 1 (self study)
oh wow that's awesome!! :D
I'm assuming all honors if not stated
So you are calling classes you have not even taken ez?
yeah i will self study calculas this november (im doing an precalc and algebra 2 course rn from AOPS)
for ap physics C
Okay then
shouldnt be that hard
Youre a class of 2026?
What colleges you applyin to?
No? I am class of 2027
Freshmen I see
hey fellow class of '26! :D
Heyyyyyyyyyyy competitor
Princeton, stanford, UCLA, oxford, CU Boulder, and my local university, that I get instant admission to because I am doing dual enrollment classes
My local University will remain unnamed because safety reasons
But it has a 70% acceptance rate
I live in New Jersey
ooOOH we have a hustler here, so according to that, the good thing bout ur schedule would be Italian and 2 math classes. But why no APs?
Next to Princeton, lucky
My school does not let freshman take them. I tried but they would not budge
How many does ur school offer in total and how many can you take ur sophomore year?
Imma try to attend Princeton
Unlimited in sophomore and let me check to see how many they offer
Not so easy 😬
Yeah ik
Sure is but...
Just take like a crapton of APs that relate to my major and interests
This year I'm knocking out grad requirements
My school offers anywhere from 10 to 16 if I remember correctly because I can't find how many and I'm too lazy
So I have plenty of room in Junior and Senior Year to take APs related to Astrophysics
Ah almost same as mine
Hmm take as many as you can by the time you finish highschool
And I'mma take an online course for AP Physics 2
Just take AP Courses related to ur major and then AP courses related to ur secondary interests
I'm taking pretty much every single one plus DE classes
Thats good
you can check which your school does on the NJ School Performance Reports
And there is this institution called Johns Hopkins
And they have an online program for AP
Center for Talented Youth
List of programs
Butt
Now that you mentioned it, i might do that as well
Taking tons of AP's is not going to get you into a prestigious college alone
Well yeah, ECs, commitment and scores
This is #course-selection
Yes
Whats that?
I'm just gonna take AP Physics 2 cuz it relates to my major
Online?
Yeah
How would they know you wont cheat?
Interesting
Get ur results in 10 days
Yea yea ofc
Oh thats nice
Yeah
I need to be talented for math to take AP Physics 2
I might consider taking Spanish Lit. Cuz I ♡ Spanish.
Yeah, but isnt AP Physics 1 a prerequisite first?
Ah I hate Spanish because of my teacher. She was the worst AI acting teacher who seems to have no life type of teacher
Isnt that covered in precalc or calc?
Trig/ Pre-Calc
Im still gonna take 2 more years of spanish of bacause of the requirement of many T20s
Only reason why I plan to do four years of Italian
Although the county offers german, latin, and spanish lit.
Only schools requiring four years are Harvard and Princeton
Princeton is my dream School
Same here, plus I like learning Spanish
Isnt that the case with everyone else lol
Devi Vishwakumar
Although I will habe to transfer for a semester to another school in the county to take AP Physics C.
Essentially, all though Some people prefer Harvard or MIT
70% of Prineston students marry another princeton alumni, fun fact
🤣
Bru-
Devi irl
Anyways
How's your experience with coyotes?
Sry lolll, had to make the joke. I love never have I ever
It Can't be THAT bad.
Believe or not, i have only watched it through tiktok and insta reels 😆
I mean
Im taking it too this year
You should watch the full thing, tho it's a little inappropriate lmao
I got the teacher that only thaught APUSH only for 3-4 years vs teh one teaching for 11 years
Thats why lmao, its a shared account with my family and UNcles 😳
Hopefully, Heimler will come in handy
I was told by a APUSH teavher that there's gonna 1.5 hours of homework everyday
A youtuber on APUSH
Your guys' APUSH teachers are wild
Yeah, cant wait to drop my GPA and explain it to HARVARd
I wanna be a lawyer and work at Pearson Hardman, what courses do you suggest i take to get into Harvard
My APUSH class was combined with my 11th grade english hon and DE class and mine wasn't as hard as what you guys are making yours out to be
Both AP englishes
I have still yet to take it, hopefully it wont be hard
ah i see
Plus maybe AP Capstone?
I think you're both overreacting lol, APUSH rlly isn't that bad. You got it
I heard the worst history was euro
For some reason my AP US History course is split between two years so I take it in both sophomore and Junior and take the test at the end of Junior
Won't you forget the material by then?
Thats the problem right there
That's, interesting
APUSH to me doesn't seem that bad, considering I know about the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution.
Everyone I talk to about it at school overreacts with "PTSD" from APUSH.
Ppl at my school say World is easier than APUSH
PTSD jokes about APUSH at my school are jokes
For some reason one of the most notorious APS at my school is AP Stat
Everyone survives
Anyways
Everyone should take Stat.
I agree
The thing about APUSH with my school is that the students are so damn lazy and uncompetitive that only 20 students out of 1600 take it every year
Bruh
my school only has 500 people
Some ppl at my school don't even register for the Collegeboard testw
Kinda stupid if u ask me
My school has 2200 with 550 in my class
ikr? whats the point then
Easier than APUSH but yeah its not as detailed
Like
I get to learn about colonialismA
From French Indochina
To British Hong Kong
Same, Im doing APUSH first just to get it out of the way
Lmao
And Nyasaland
World History sounds fun ngl
I get to do the honors version this year
Bro y’all know of AP world history modern is hard?
We only have ancient lol
Coming soon
We dont have modern
If I know about the Balfour Declaration, I'll be fine.
Coming soon in 2029
CSP should be an easy 5 for me
I am taking computer science A in sophomore so that should be a nice GPA boost
Hated that class cuz of my teacher, he didnt teach SHIP. I got a 1

Damn
Dont even know how, thought i would atleast get a 3
on the flip side, i got a 4 on APHG
Nice job guys
Hate computer science
I already have coding experience so computer science should be nice easy five
Program anything you want using scratch, MIT app inventer or phyton
Oh ok
I'll make a program that gives good shrimp recipes
That could work lol but there are requirements
like you have to incldue certain procedures
and answer a lot of questions
Unpeeling the shrimp?
Questions on how to cook and process the shrimp?
Just make an AI meme generator
lmao
Or make a particle acclerator simulator video game
Aight imma go make some pasta for myself before getting back on discord. I'm starvin
Good idea
Geneva Convention more like Geneva suggestion
Bros tryna get feds on this server
what should i major in if i want to do something related to dental
AP Stat
Biology or the like
Medical
Has chosen electronics and communication engineering course?
If so please reply.
Any guidance related to that will be appreciated.
AP Stat
Thoughts? For some context, AAS (African American studies) and financial lit are required by my school, and because my state requires 2 years of US history they split apush into 2. Also, ap Econ has both micro and macro, and you take both ap tests
I want to go pre-law and my dream school is UPenn (where I have a small admissions advantage and a decent tuition advantage)
Also the credit stuff on the side isn’t accurate just ignore it
Would it be a good idea to do AP Lit, AP Lang (same time as lit) AP Macro, and AP Stats and self study AP Human Geo Junior year, I’ve never done an ap or Honors class before but I am a hard worker
i have no experience to answer your question but i just want to say i love that your profile pic
Ty I suppose
Decent but could be better
Any advice?
How bout mine?
i need help
good but good luck in 12th grade
Would it be a good idea to do AP Lit, AP Lang (same time as lit) AP Macro, and AP Stats and self study AP Human Geo Junior year, I’ve never done an ap or Honors class before but I am a hard worker
no
Why
No honors or ap done before
): pleasee
what
do it then? why ask here
Idk
would u guys recommend taking ib or ap?
Depends on ur taste
wht are the major differences?
ap
in what ways would it be better
I don’t know what highschool courses i need to take
Is apgov hard?
No
how
It’s easy
Is it like world history?
From my course list could you guys give me an estimate of my nightly homework load?
depends on ur teachers tbh
Hm alr
