Oh
I got the GOAT in terms of APUSH
I plan on majoring in astrophysics in college but this year I plan on knocking out a majority of graduation requirements
Junior and Senior Year is when I'll load on my science and math classes
Also cuz I would like to get another social study AP done should I self study AP HUG if I can?
When u share your schedule you might want to block out the name of your teachers and your high school building name
💀
good morning
So you can’t get doxxed
people like max will call ur teachers

Fr
Lol
Now I'm getting doxxed
max didnt see it dw
There we go
Well anyways
Is it worth self studying AP HUG for a AP in social studies?
"Gohar's Guide would like to have access to your location"

Lol
AP HUG or AP Psych?
What world language should I take
I can choose between mandarin, German, French, Spanish, and Italian
Yeah
and what u feel is important for ur future career
Like
I plan on taking AP Spanish Lang
And maybe I'll self study Spanish Lit. or Italian
if u wanna work in a chinese factory take mandarin
+1000000 social credit
I feel like mandarin gonna be too hard
Maybe I'll try german
I can rank my top 3 sp
Ur social credit score is down
Dang
cool
"John Xina wants to know ur location"
idk but lets wait for @austere tulip
no
i mean if you want to yeah
but if its not related to your major, no point
also the fail rate is crazy for the class
I'm not taking it for my major, I just want another social studies class under my belt
Cuz I took AP Gov
Most colleges want like 2 social studies classes I believe
breh
Yea you could
Can u not take it in school
Not offered at my school
Unless I transfer
To another school in the county
Butt
This kid is only transfering for AP Physics C
But yeah
I shall talk to my counselor about self studying
I shall also self study AP Physics 2
(When I take AP Physics C cuz they overlap)
Are there any courses I should avoid taking?
courses which ur not sure if u can handle
Depends on what u want to go into in college
Is UNC Greensboro and UNC Wilmington good? (For computer science major)
Expensive
Ah, Computer Science :0
fellow cs major
hopefully
so does your school offer any cs modules
or classes
?
Ummmm
Just take CS and Math APs
Like AP CSP, CS A, Stat, Calc AB, and BC
Maybe even Precalc
Idk wut AP Courses u shouldn't take
Maybe something like Bio
Human Geo
Psych
Also when does school start for yall
-5 days
Like 3 weeks
about 3 weeks
Here in Dutchess County we start on Sep 6
L
Always trying to one up us
Next ur in Carroll County it's gonma be Sept 8
I mean Sept 7
Just so you know us Carroll Countians are allied with the Fredrick Countians, the Howard Countians, the Baltimore Countians, thr Montgomery Countians, the York Countians, and the Adam Countians
what
Should I take AP CS A?
Im gonna take AP CSP regardless tho
I have zero knowledge or Java or Data structures so IDK
you'll learn everything from scratch in APCA
but take csp first if you have to, then csa
Yes, and related ones as well I believe. It’s a pretty sizable school :0
There’s an IT class and CSA, etc.
Someone told me to take OS
I’ll see if we have that
The 28th, one day after my bday lol
August 16th
has anybody skipped geometry
yes
how was it
ez
I'd say alg2 would probably be easier to skip, since geo is very memorization-intensive and also the proofs are annoying
wath
fr
breh
i might finally switch to a good course selection school again and i since i know calc AB but with a lot of knowledge gaps i figured id take alg 2 THEN calc ab
hopefully i DO switch schools tho
wdym
You could also try to self study AP Precalc ig
Eh AP Precalc is a joke compared to my honors Precalc class

thats the thing.. self studying has given me a lot of knowledge gaps in alg 2 and stuff
good for u
dude if you dont wanna help then leave
honestly though. I checked the AP Precalc contents and it has far less than my honors precalc class
and my precalc course is online (FLVS)
Yo which one would be better to take Discrete math or AP Human geo. For context I am a high school senior this year and I want to major in environmental engineering. So far I have Calculus BC, Engineering class, English Honors, AP Chem, AP Psych, and Spanish.
I know that like Discrete is more technical for engineering but also human geo maybe better for my pursuing major
I can't really comment much on this (I'm only a rising Sophomore) but what I can tell you is that AP Human Geo is a great class that actually taught me a lot about the world and how things work. However, it is Human Geography, after all, not Physical Geography. (Once again, take this advice with a grain of salt as I'm not very experienced)
If you would like me to send you various lessons I saved from my Human Geography class for you to see if it would be a good course for you, DM me
Gotcha thank you!
No problem!
Has anyone taken Discrete Math?
Is taking python in school worth it?
Should I take discrete math in high school if I want to major in cs?
I’m a 9th grader, are my classes decent? I’m aiming for good schools and criminal Justice career:
Honors Biology,
AP Human Geography,
Honors English,
Ethnic Studies,
JROTC,
AP Spanish Lang&Culture ( Spanish 3)
Oh
should I take AP Gov as a freshman? Im hearing now that its really hard so im kinda worried
I’d say no, when you’re older, you’ll take classes like APUSH that are a good starting point to AP gov
But yk, ultimately up to you
It’s doable as a freshman, but harder than if you wait
Should I take AP World first?
The thing is, for the program i'm doing in my school, I have to take both AP World and AP Gov by 10th grade,so I have to decide which order I do it
Take world first then
OK tysm
why
The things you learn in AP world can act as building blocks for things you’ll learn later
cool
from what i've heard lin algebra might be more helpful, discrete math is a very broad term for lots of things like graph theory, algebra,
That’s just my take on it tho, maybe other people disagree bc it’s def a personal opinion sort of thing
definately
One question, shoud I take Cisco network engineering technology or computer science A?
It will be in addition to AP CS principles
well idk if ill get into cs principles
im not sure about the first one, but csa is widely known and a step up from principles. I would take that if you're planning to go into cs
its also a great introduction to CS
since you're learning OOP and basic algos and data structures
im scared ill get csa without getting cs principles
I did csa without csp and did fine (5 on ap exam). I did have a little bit of python programming knowledge beforehand, but most of the people in the class didn't and they learned pretty well
the cool thing about java/programming is that there's so many resources to learn online like https://runestone.academy/ns/books/published/csawesome/index.html
it is also pretty dependent on your teacher though
hi so I’m not going to be able to finish these parts of pre calculus before school starts, but I’m taking AP Calc AB. do I need to know these things?? or can I still get an A without them? tysm
I don’t think I ever saw sequences in calc
same
is Honors geometry hard? taking as a sophomore
it was really easy in my opinion. I took it as a freshman.
Personally I thought it was pretty hard cuz it’s a different mindset from algebra
U shld DEF preview everything beforehand will help a ton
and sometimes how the teachers teach can also make it easy/difficult
maybe its challenging but u can do it if u do ur hw
Is taking python in school worth it?
nah ill just study ut online personally
Okay thanks
got the review guide for unit 1 today it seems pretty challenging compared to middle school
but i can do it probably if i study at home or smth
Oh
do u like trading
Am starting school on Wednesday so I just want a idea
cool
Yes but am more interested in international relations
Can you send it to me by any chance ?
nah
Thanks
Hey so should i take regular physics my junior year or wait until senior year to take ap and take an easier class?? I cant take it this year because it doesn’t fit my schedule but i can do regular and if i do regular will i be fine taking ap physics 2 or c next year without 1?
I plan to study mechanical engineering btw
i cant understand ur question
lol
My bad ill try again 😪
So now im a junior and couldn’t fit ap physics to my schedule but i can fit regular
Idk if i should wait until next year to take ap physics 1 or simply take regular now and then on senior year go to ap physics 2 or c
hope that’s better
Yeah senior year go to ap physics C
Don’t bother with 2 cuz 2 is more electricity and magnetism stuff
How easy is AP Human Geo
It's supposed to be one of the easiest APs I think
doable
Awesome
(president and secretary general)
just take the harDest courses your school has
is discrete math helpful for cs?
Im currently stuck between taking AP Precalc over APUSH (they are the same period) this year (junior year). I want to study computer science in college so I was thinking that it would make more sense to take AP Precalc this year and take APUSH Senior year (where colleges dont see exam scores until after admissions) and I already have 4 other AP exams to worry about. So wouldn't it make more sense to swap out APUSH for AP Precalc this year?
Yea
Also should I self-study AP Physics 2 when I take AP Physics C?
I plan on majoring in Astrophysics
Good luck
how is AP Lang :(, this not my best subject
lot of timeD writing anD sat like mcq questions, its mostly a skills class so its not the biggest time committment
i am going to pass out in the beginning of next year, hardly few months left
with that in mind,I have an entrance exam in which I'll have to appear for a minimum of four subjects and the condition is that whatever subject I'm choosing for my degree should be in those 4 subjects.
I'm really keen on pursuing a bachelors in french. But I have not touched it since the last 2 years, the grammar,I mean. I had been studying French for five years before 2022. I can still understand a lot of it but sentence formation has obviously become rusty. On the contrary, the subjects I'm studying right now take up 95% of my time(physics biology chemistry and engineering graphics)
my parents have been suggesting me to pursue a degree in either genetics or microbiology and I'm fine with both of them because these two subjects also appeal to me
i could either appear for the entrance with my 4 subjects as biology chemistry english and engg. graphics
or I could take up french as the fourth subject instead of either engg graphics or chemistry
but I'm not so sure of taking a risk and appearing for an exam of a subject that I've not studied since two years. At the same time,I'm confident enough that within a few months,my french will be back to normal,as languages are a strong point for me. But I don't have the time currently. A solution to this is that we have a holiday break for a month before the entrance exam.
the forms would be out for entrance any day now and we'll have to select our subjects. I'm not sure if I can cover up my french in a month, but I really really do not wish to regret my decision in future because this is going to be a crucial step in my career life
Does taking 3 APs as a sophomore put me ahead of most ppl my age?
Do you live in the US
no taking aps dorsnt put u ahead
Does anyone know of any online programs that offer AP Classes online and that actually count for credit? They don't have to be free
So I don’t think that’s a thing. But you can self-study the for the AP exam then take the AP test
There’s tons of resources for every AP test
Maybe like online high schools could offer it
Or online classes through your school
I'm trying to do the AP's for the college credit and the gpa boost they give. I found 1 for my state, but its $3k+ USD for 1 AP class
This isnt a fucking race lol
Yikes
Yeah you can always just take the AP test
And get the credit that way
But credit for taking the actual class, I’m not too sure about
Does anyone know any websites to self study Chemistry?
it literally is lol
whether you treat it as a race or not is up to you
if you think you can adequately manage it without it interfering too much with your other ECs, go for it
that should be the answer to 99% of the questions here asking if taking X aps is ok
physicsandmathtutor.com free
savemyexams.com -paid
Has anyone here ever takin a VHS AP course ? aka online
which one is the correct one?
what one would highschool be? my school only has 1 chemistry curriculum for 10th/11th and 12 graders
well what grade are you in rn
9th
so IGCSE
so that would prepare me enough to test out of chem?
yeah
has anyone taken the ap courses with john hopkins cty? thinking about taking one (at least) but i'd like to know more about it
does anyone know how i should take an arts class in my high school career? im not realy planning to major in the arts or anything, but I know you have to have one for UC schools, so I am wondering on how to fit in a class. for example, could i do an arts class virtually (through virtual va for me) or could i self study ap music theory (or would that not count as an arts credit??) i am currently a freshmen (or i will be when school starts)
Or just take like, a basic art class
but idk if i can fit it in with my schedule
because I deffinetely wont be able to take it in school this yr and next yr
and I dont want to spend any classes on arts in 11th grade
Then 12th grade
so I want to possibly do something virtual in school
Not sure how you’d do art virtually
Still not sure how you’d do that virtually
yea
But idk every virtual class that exists
Sounds like you’ll just have to give up a class for art credit
Unless you can find an online class
yea i will try ig
Tho I don’t think I would do that
ok
one more thing
do uc schools care about what art class u take
or just the fact that u take ana art class
as long as it fits the req!!
o
so as long as u fit the req uc schools look at other parts of your app
and not the arts req
yea
how do i self study for APES? how do i register to do the test
Tons of online resources
Look up how to register, google knows better. Or call collegeboard and they’ll give you an answer
smeDes yt channel is pretty comprehensive anD pretty quick viDs
ok
shuld i take ap bio if im planning on doin computer engineering. I wanna go to MIT
take if u like it
i would say not rlly. you can take the class for GPA boost but the ap credit won’t be useful if ur hellbent on going into comp sci. but may be handy if you see the slightest possibility of going into medical/bio field
im not interested into bio
then focus on calc and physics
ap physics if you can handle it
i’m doing normal
bc i want to have a life
acc not even physics
comp sci
im doing ap csp
Is anyone here taking ib?
you would prolly need like mainly math and calc as well as ap comp sci principles or A
fr
especially bc i did honors comp sci freshman yr
what r some free edx courses related to game development
ok
It focuses on python and some languagds
Languages*
But I recomend on practicing a certain programming language while learning.
For instance, if your into unity then try focusing on c++ and c$
C#*
but where do i learn the languages?
Here's a website that I usually use, it doesn't cover a lot of the info but good for beginners
Good for programming and if your taking ap csp
It's not advanced type but still good for starters
Thoughts on this schedule: AP Language and Comp, AP Envi Sci, AP World History, AP Comp Sci P, Latin IV, and Pre Calc
For junior year
Does this schedule load look lazy/ not rigorous enough for junior year
Does ur school offer AP Pre-Calc?
so i go to a really small school that doesn't really offer anything as to higher level courses and i'm taking all the advanced courses that is even offered at my grade of my school which is ap precalc and ap calc
is this something that will negatively affect apps
No
theres also dual enrollment through the local community college but you can only take 2 per semester
No
lazy
Should I stick with ap gov or switch it to comp Sci
i was being sarcastic but ok
intended major?
…I can never tell on social media 😭
Business minor in poli Sci
However, turn this into an extracurricular
ap gov
Does ur school offer AP Comparitive Gov?
How about if the ap gov class is virtual and wont go into my gpa
No
so this year im taking a health occupations class at the county career center, history 162 (i dont remember the actual number), biology 101, english 11, ap precalc, and chem
but thats about the heaviest course load i can have
That’s why idk what to do because should I take AP GOV and have a lower gpa or AP Comp Sci P and have a higher one
I think overlapping honors classes can help self study for APs
there are no honors classes
ok
@proven totem
so like clep tests and stuff
Is the virtual like a period in ur school day?
Idk
I's just say take action
And self study
ok
I would get a study. But the class is not factored into my gpa
4.32 weighted (ill be a junior this up coming year). I want 4.45 by the end of high school
If it's like a 4 or higher and u do well in other courses u should be alr
Yea that’s what I was thinking. I’m just nervous that if I don’t do as well as I want in other classes that I won’t have ap gov to back up on
Alr
Well I mean u still have a year
I would do AP Gov so that if it went down senior year, I'd still have a range of classes
If I weren’t to do ap gov and ended up doing lang world envi sci and comp Sci p would that look bad..?
@rough patio no, any ap is fine tbh
It wouldn't affect too much, it's still a ap at the end of the day
@full tinsel Ib usually goes up to max 7 points while AP is 5
so like a 3 in AP is like a 3-4 in IB
oh
While the rest of the world uses the IB System
when I came to US, my school is IB
In the 70s they tried to switch like the rest of the world
But we still use AP
Along with Liberia and Burma
tbh, I like AP a way more than IB
Yes
IB is way too much
ye
like for instance
in IB, you have to do IA (which is a project that counts 20-40% of your IB score), followed by 2-3 tests
for my IB comp sci SL, I had to do the IA with 2 paper tests instead of taking a test if it was AP
yeah... dont....
its not like AP at all....
there are good resources for IB
but the project might be confusing for non IB students since its usually during its school
ok
Is IED a good course to take if ur gonna go down the route of computer science
I don't know if I should take it. I'm going into my sophomore year
yo
so its prob diff from us to aus but i wanna get into a course in cyber sec or smth like that can anyone help me
Yeah that sounds cool
What
school
Why
Do u live ine aus?
I’m not sure if this is available to you, but check a website called cyberstart
I did cybersecurity on there and it was a rlly great beginner course
And it’s very interactive and fun to use
Hello everyone i am Biology major i want to take sociology as i am planning on appearing for the MCAT which sociology course would you suggest the first one is 1] Understanding society: principle and processes
2] sociology of health and wellness
U sure?
Yea
oh cool
Yeah
Hey so I got a friend who wants to pursue a career in finance, he is interested in taking AP Chem, but currently with the way our school periods align, he’d would have to drop his choir class in order to do so, he’s not sure Chem would benefit him in terms of finance but at the same time neither would choir, thanks
Neither would, so best thing to do is just decide what class he/she would like more. Also taking into account a good grade in AP chem could help raise gpa
Any Canadians online?
u guys think ap chem and ap psychics in the same year is a good idea or no?
how is the workload looking, im also taking a few other aps so idk
Is ap gov hard?
Should I take Calc BC if I hate math
Well here's a question
Do you hate math
Or do you hate learning math
Both, I only really like geometry
It's ok if u have background info on them
Chemistry is Physics applied on the molecular level
So u should be fine
what do u plan on majoring in
Then unless your major calls for it, it's not necessary imo, but it's useful to have and makes you look good
I need to talk to my guidance counselor about switching AP Precalc for AP Calc (I took precalc this summer) and switching AICE Marine for Chemistry, is this a good sophomore schedule in your opinion? (I want to major in Physics and/or Computer Science)
Additionally my school has no physics teacher at the moment.
Not bad
Yeah I won't
I have the same English teacher, engineering teacher, and math teacher as last year and my comp sci teacher is right next to my engineering teacher and was practically another one of my teachers last year anyway
And the great thing is that only my math teacher out of those really gives a lot of homework
Hello everyone i am Biology major i want to take sociology as i am planning on appearing for the MCAT which sociology course would you suggest the first one is 1] Understanding society: principle and processes
2] sociology of health and wellness
Looks good
It’s cool that you’re doing calc soph year!
hi
Yeah it is, I think I'm gonna be the only sophomore there lol
Under some of my hs courses that I can choose it says "locally developed" what is that?
it's courses that are made specifically for a school or region if no other classes meet the needs of thst subject
usually they're mandatory
ah okay
my school has like 3 APs, no Ib courses, and no honors, so I thought that was maybe something similar to honors. Too bad. Thanks for your time!
Is AP Spanish worth it
Guys i need ur suggestion, I’m taking 5 aps next yr(apes, apchem, aplang, calc ab, apush) my A day classes consist of 1. apes 2. study hall 3. apchem 4. physics. I feel like I should replace either chem or apes with ap csp but idk which one. do you guys have any suggestions for me?
What do you want to study in college
either comp sci or data science
Keep the class you think you’ll enjoy more
i think i would enjoy apes more but i also wanted to keep some rigor
which chem offers lol
Huh?
like if i replaced ap csp with chem, my schedule would be a bit more chill because i have csp and apes
if i replaced csp with apes, it would still be a little chill but ap chem would add the rigor to my schedule
That’s correct
Take both into account, work load and how much you’ll enjoy it. Don’t take a class you think you won’t like
Do you think doing choir all 4 years has any more weight acceptance wise than doing choir 3 years and taking an ap course instead for one year
I don’t think it’s going to matter much except for the gpa boost you might get from an AP class
But really, just take the class you like more
Is AP lang worth it
Is AP Comp Sci worth it
These are the courses that I have this year. FLEX means lunchtime and I have a different AP class for each day. Also, I have different classes for each semester (obviously). Let me know how I can make all of this insanity more bearable for me since I've never taken an AP class before:
How are you gonna be okay
Is that 10 AP's
In a single year
Holy
6, but yeah idk
Hey guys, if you’re having any problems with AP Prep methods that are currently available, please let us know by filling out this survey. We’re looking to create a platform that allows people to score higher, and prep efficiently.
https://forms.gle/XUXzzi9k1ZovRLc37
between AP Bio, AP Chem, and APES, which science should i take junior year? gonna be taking one of these with physics, and the plan is to get either a comp sci/ cybersecurity degree
@left coral compsci or cybersecurity doesnt need any of those
🤨
at this point im assuming u want a weighted gpa boost or idek
APES is easiest
Bio is hardest (in my opinion)
i thought bio was more fun tho
did u take chem?
yes
when?
11th
bio soph
and bio 10th grade i assume?
yes
yea pretty much
nothing wrong witht htat tho
ik I don't need any of them but I have an opportunity so might as well
honestly its useless
can u take smth more related to ur major?
compsci? cyber security?
i already have and will be
thats why im asking
i was just wondering if any one of those maybe relates to the major more than others, even though none of them really do
yeah im thinking about APES or bio
bio works
alr thank you
ok
So I love my current schedule but my counselor just called me in to talk about switching out one of my classes for ap stats since I only have one semester this year, making it a grand total of 3.5 years of math instead of 4. The most selective of the universities im applying to have a requirement for 3.5 and a recommendation of 4 but I have a really good gpa and extracurriculars and good sat score so I feel like it would cover for that in a way? I really don’t want to change my schedule to put in an ap class I don’t want to take simply for this, should I actually try and see what I can move or just take the schedule I have already and maybe ta for my math teacher and whatnot? (I know ta-ing doesn’t cover that semester but it might still look good, especially cuz I’m getting a letter from the teacher)
Sorry that it’s long lol
Make sure you’re completing your HS requirements, otherwise I would you are fine with your current schedule
Lots of HS require 4 years of math
What exactly is that one semester of math
So my school offers IB physics SL, IB Chem SL, and IB Bio HL, I am already doing HL lang/lit and HL Analysis. Should I take Bio or chem and phys?
i.e, what factors are the most important to consider when choosing between the classes?
Hello everyone i am Biology major i want to take sociology as i am planning on appearing for the MCAT which sociology course would you suggest the first one is 1] Understanding society: principle and processes
2] sociology of health and wellness
Personally, I'd recommend you 'Sociology of Health and Wellness' ☺
My school requires 3 so I’m good on that front, it’s just universities and whatnot since I might be going into chem
That’s another issue that’s being figured out by my counselor but it’s gonna be something past calc bc, I don’t know if that’s anything
Factors to consider:
1.) Which subjects would help me prepare for my career in the future?
2.) Consider the difficulty and expected amount of workload of each subject and see which one you can manage.
3.) What type of learning do you prefer?
And what class you would enjoy^
Ok, thx
Oh ok if it’s past calc then do that instead of stats
My school only offers 3 APs, Im trying to go into public policy, what do you guys think of my classes: AP Lang, APUSH, AP Chem, HPC, Hphysics, Chinese
Does taking AP Envi Sci and AP Comp Sci in the same year look bad ? Will taking AP Gov over AP Comp Sci look significantly better ?
it does not matter because it matters which ap classes you are interested in. either option is fine.
I’m interested in gov more then comp Sci but my school does not offer gov so I would have to do it virtually, and idk if I want to make a commitment to that. There is an intro to law class at my school so I was thinking of doing AP Comp Sci and intro to law.
then that would be better for you, since this is also a gov related class. intro to law and comp sci is fine as well.
My Junior year schedule will prob be AP Lang, AP World, AP Envi Sci, AP Comp Sci P, Latin, Pre Calc, and Intro to Law. Is this the rigor colleges are looking for ? I’m aiming for schools like Northeastern, and BU
okay so junior year - you do not want to overload yourself and be able to excel in classes. the classes you chose seem more manageable. 2-4 AP classes is enough for junior year. and yes, your course load is rigorous. remember that colleges want to see you excel in the classes you chose. good luck!
try a least one ap and some honors
Hey, could some of you take a look at my schedule. I’m going into sophomore this year.

i might be able to take AP us history and ap physics in my 2nd semester even though im a sophomore (10th grade). should i or do you guys from experience think its too hard?
if i do my schedule for semester 2 will look like this
English 2 honors/ AP Seminar
APUSH
AP Physics
AP Stats
Its a very rigorous schedule. I would ask some upperclassmen about AP physics and APUSH. AP seminar will take up a lot of your time , but AP stats shouldn’t be too hard. You still need to have time for extracurricular and you could take those classes in junior year anyway
great schedule for sophomore year. If you wanted you could take AP precalc or AP lang if your school offers those
I don’t think they do but I was thinking to take ap lang through college as a duel enrollment next year. And ap pre calc I haven’t heard anything about it from school but I’ll reach out to them
ez
Lol Don’t think so. I’ve many friends that took ap stats and they said it was really hard 😭. Plus I have chem and all
never trust ur friends - some wise man
Ummm… so can I trust you
totally im a harvard student
Wat colleges we talking bout
No honors or ap offered at ur school?
wdym by good
breh anyone can take classes
ur classes are just random art physics spanish geometry us history english band health pe
bro all i can say this schedule is random and anyone who tries can take those classes and since theyre on level they must be ez to get a 100 on
read carefully not typing that again it means exactly what it means
reading comprehension ✅✅
idk what classes can u take?
ull have to wait ig if ur school doesnt allow soph
Does your school offer any CTE classes ? Like computer science , healthcare , graphic design , etc?
are you interested in one of those
is there an online program ? Like in GA we have GAVS that you can take AP classes online if your school doesn’t have them
Stop taking classes for college
what are ur EC? Theres nothing u can do about ur classes
Extracurriculars
lmaooooo
Clubs , sports
Crazy
yeh state school might be a good choice i think
nah
state school is just good yk
member?
Or president
bro is promoting stacking
Try to get a leadership position
this is what is wrong with u people
LOL
how many members
are there
In fbla
in ur school
and enviormnet club
There are about 196k members in FBLA overall
👍👍👍 good luck for state school
lol
at my school anyone can be a class officer
Nobel prize
lol
bro is doing all of this for ivy
You could also start a club yourself

LMaOooooo
Lmaooooo
Funnniest shit of all time
lottery?
o
but irs not conpletely lotteery
like only minor part of it
just do the extracurriculars that you are passionate about. Don't follow the "college ec checklist" like research, olympiad, tutoring nonprofit etc. You should do your ECs because you genuinely like them, not because they will look good.
And in the end, the ivies are a lottery for even the most cracked people. Just do your best and leave the rest 🤷♂️

theres always something out there
College aint the right rhing for u
consider joining the army
i joijed it and it honestly changed my life
There’s definitely something you’re passionate about
i learned to love my family and my parents which are adopted
Not true sonething people are just like that
I like anime

the period at the end hits hard

IM reporting this to mods
u called me a ma’am
mods can see logs
just sit back and relax
and take normal classes
yeah and then go to army or community college or whatever
but first find ur passion
i figured out my passionate at 5. At the age of 11 i got into harvard
just do what you like
lol
try lots of things and get good at what you like
then maybe u should stop asking people for advice
I know i am. U dont have to tell me that
exactly this. I tried out engineering, bio, and programming. Found programming to be interesting and really got into it (mainly web dev).
There's always something you definitely enjoy. You'll just have to get some exposure
lol
try army if u want
i created a admy base in my basement
Then invited my freinds over and we had a war
yeha definitely
in a very legal way tho not the way maybe u think
thats very weird
Hi

yeha
id like to see them say that to my face
Ima be honest 70% of americans do that
Like today this indian kid decided to speak in class and he had this thick indian accent and everyone started laughing
Like it was disrespectful
man I feel so bad for him 😢
I could never imagine doing that to someone
should always treat others the way you want to be treated, period.
fr even after 30 minutes people were talking about that
Bruh
At my school we had an Indian transfer student and everyone became his friend
Oh yeah
My school is somehow chill compared to what I hear from others
New kids are always friends w/ everyone unless they do something weird
lucky kid
check your local county. Some counties/school systems have their own online programs
like here in virginia, we have this thing called virtual virginia where we can take online programs
nope you still have to pay for some stuff like enrollment and the exam fees I believe ;-;
They probably have waivers too
I completed geometry online during summer for free
I love a good waiver
🤓
💀
🤓
oh shi my bad maybe they deserved it that time
this shi confusing everythings deleted
i cant even tell whos in the wrong here
@pure sapphire @normal ember Please next time use #bot-commands to check a user's info
Ok thank you for the info
What are the best highschool courses for a future in diplomacy (diplomats, ambassadors)?
I’m already the president of the debate club and secretary general of Model UN.
You should take the hardest level english and history classes that you can
doesn't need to be college
but do ap's for those
but if you want you can also take rigorous math and science classes
It’s a must I should take math and science, but do I really need hard level of maths?
I’m not bright when it comes to math but I have the highest grades.
I would say at least before u graduate high school, complete maybe calculus or calc ab
just complete caculas 4 before graduating cuz y not
yeah bro just casually do calc 4 in senior on top of all the aps and college aps
doable👍
calc 4 aint a thing btw
ok
i thought we were jus being sarcastic but ok
but yeah like i said ab or regular calc before graduation
oh ok cause ik that those are the hardest aps so i didn't know if it was a good idea to take it in the same year
is there any point at all taking calc AB before BC
because I feel confident taking BC right on but i wonder if taking AB makes it so that I can get an extra ap class
imo no
bro u can take more advanced math classes like calc 3 and college algebra and stats
Imo only if you don't work well with a faster pace
ap world is making me want to kms
For anyone who has taken AP clac BC. Do you have any feedback?
heimler is your best friend
should i pick english or literature
What's your career goal?
Why history?? Others I get but history is not rlly specially needed... Right?
English is def more important than history
but based on the career positions u said
having a good knowledge of history, geography, etc
would be beneficial
and showing academic rigor in those subjects can go quite a way
don't over burden yourself however
Do you like textual analysis? Dislike Persuasive Analysis and comparative analysis?
Then lit is for u
Make sure u have a high avg (I recommend 95+ but as long as it is high) then u can do well
I am going to start my igcse syllabus soon and my school has already made us pick our subjects however I am a bit worried since I picked computer science. My parents encouraged me to pick it since it will be beneficial for me in the future and to that I don’t disagree. I am not really interested in computer science or planing to continue to study it in the future, my parents just think it’s good to have some basic knowledge on the subject. I am not confident in my computer science ability since our lessons in computer science during middle school was really basic and inconsistent. I am willing to try to learn but I am worried that I well regret it as my teacher did say that computer science is a subject that if you don’t understand the basics you will just be stuck there. Does anyone have some tips on what I should do or whether I should just change it as I will be starting the syllabus in like a week since I do not want to change my subject halfway.
send sylabus here
Igcse computer science?
waht is the syllabus idk whay igcse is
0478
ok makes sense
I went through the past year papers and I don’t understand pretty much everything
Is anyone in MIT JAIPUR?
waht is that
people keep telling me to take the "hardest possible courses" at my hs. But this involves taking courses irrelevent to my intended major of mathematics, ie. Spanish 4h, amlit honors, etc. Additionally, i plan to spend 7 hours a day to make MOP(math olympiad summer program) is it worth it to take the hardest possible courses offered, or to rather follow my passion?
Hardest courses possible looks different for everyone. It’s good to get a variety of different classes but at the same time it’s good to focus on a little on your major
7 hours a day is a lot tho
7 hours sounds kinda low
Maybe 10-12 will be better
Also follow your passion
Currently im taking APUSH AP Stats APPC MECH + E&M, amlit, and Stanford Linear alg/mvc
(junior year)
This is fairly easy
So you should be able to fit in 10 hours of math
i cant tell if ur being fr ong right now
lol im jk
but yeah making mop is hard
u will have to grind a ton on weekends
can u make usamo rn
yeah easily
ight then u can make mop
my question is will i get dinged by like that much for not taking the hardest possible classes offered
from the college admissions pov
Ur courses look pretty hard to me
my school does offer spanish 4h and amlit honors, is it necesary to take 3 years of foreign langauge in high school?
because ive taken 1 year in middle school and 2 in high school
when did u start doing comp math btw
im trying to make usamo by junior year (freshman rn with no skill)
i started in like 3rd grade doing math kangaroo if that coutns but i barely tried at all back then
💀
i found out about amc 10 in like 8th grade
Damn
(my amc 10 score only went downhill from there)
y?
cuz i never practiced amc 10 enough after that
and the test got harder
i spent more time praacticing aime
Should I register for ap exams next month our school makes them register for them next month to take them in may and we have to pay
But I’m a upcoming sophomore and I’m not taking any Ap classes should I self study and take 1 ap exam or no
Don’t self study if you don’t want to
It’s no a requirement by any means
But if you want to, then it could help
Is AP HUG ez?
from my friends that have taken it they say it's one of the easier AP classes. Just a lot of vocab and models to study. Just make sure to pay attention, take good notes, and you'll do fine
https://www.reddit.com/r/APStudents/comments/c7ib44/how_hard_is_ap_human_geography/
Alr I'll self study it
cool, but I wouldn't recommend self-studying it unless it pertains to your major for these reasons:
1 - The main purpose of taking an AP class during school is for the GPA boost and exam college credit. If you're self-studying the class, you get no GPA boost, so that's out of the picture. All you have left is college credit. I see a lot of people sel-study classes that are just irrelevant to their major. So in the end, you've spent tens of hours studying for an exam which (might) not even give you credit.
2 - AOs aren't going to be impressed if you spent your free time studying for an AP class. They would rather see you do things like volunteering, research, competitions, businesses, clubs, etc. All they takeaway from you self-studying an AP class is that you've wasted a lot of time (assuming the AP class is not related to your major)
A good comment from someone on reddit:
If one has a true intellectual curiosity that cannot be fulfilled by the HS curriculum, dual enrollment courses are a better option. Or proposing an independent study under the supervision of a teacher. aOs care more about course performance over 30-36 weeks than the scores from a 3 hour exam.
Summary: Only self-study if you're genuinely interested in the content/material and plan to use the credit from the AP class (assuming you pass) for college. You can also do it if your school doesn't offer much
Reddit?
I would've been fine with just the summary
Fine I'll just self study AP Physics 2
Thoughts on Intro to Law and AP Comp Sci P as Junior year electives ? I want to dual major in business and poli Sci, do those classes show that ?
Freshman year I took Intro to businesses. And sophomore year I took business law and personal finance
@rough patio ap comp sci p doesn't really show a reason with poli sci, instead try going for ap gov related
intro to law is good but i would try to switch ap comp sci p for something else
like ap united states gov
Wth is AP Comp Sci P?
probably intro to law is good
ap computer science princples
ap comp sci principle
mostly known for a easy ap that seniors OR freshman take
I'm used to CSP
its just learning basic sutff
I'm taking AP CSP this year for graduation requirements
bro they frickin use darn scratch
ikr
im taking ap csa a
pretty good so far
have a test in a few days for that
@cedar sparrow you got this
it shouldn't be too difficult
it's mostly going to be like, what's a print("hello")?
I'm still not in school
school starts tommorrow for me
School starts sept 5
yeah and I took cs 1 last year
so
so far its been fine
I'll start studying for ap exam in december
and I have apwh
oh...
Am going to major in astrophysixs
that one is actually hard af
gl
its piles of work plus mental frustration every day
its mostly memorizing the tiniest details
u a senior right?
So I've got AP Chem, Physics I, Physics C, Stat, Calc AB and BC and I'm thinking of self studying Physics II
@cedar sparrow yes
you probably took the course?
Yeah how was it
I got 2 aps this year I wanted 3
I dont have ap in my school but I had friends who took
I sadly didn't get ap seminar
oh okay
yeah idk ive never done that
AP Sem?
I'm coming from a geography course in freshman year so
I think the capstone diploma is a little bit of a rip off
you can expect drastic changes as geogrpahy human was mainly maps, vocab terms and other stuff
freshmen year shouldn't be too challenging since most will go easy on you
and history courses are writing writing writing
but again, make sure to find good resources
I'm a sophmore now
hmmm you have two healths in the same year
@full tinsel very good classes
@cinder gorge you explroe and investigate the interrelationships of the natural world and analyze environmental problems, both natural and human-made. also take part in laboratory investigations and field work.
classes*
apes right
@cedar sparrow it sure is
yeah any suggestions on what ap's I should do in junior year and how do I survive high school and how to study for ap exams
hmmm
Wats ur major
here's one of my first tip
The goal of the laboratory and field investigation component of the AP Environmental Science course is to complement the classroom portion by allowing students to learn about the environment through firsthand observation.
make sure to look at what your school is offering and what your county is offering
