it’s only a month
and apparently his alt is lurking here
can’t wait to find that bastard
I’m planing to be A medical assistant is that a good field
I don't believe in a good way
People know the borger guy not because he made a great impact -- but more because his answers to questions would not exceed the length over 10 characters
and they were kinda horrible
😭
Bruh HE hasn’t left yet
Where is he?
Are you accusing him of evading a ban?
What's your evidence?
💀💀
Only Borger can be that ignorant and tell everyone to go to cc
And be lazy in writing responses
Shut up
lmao ok
Rishab you > Gohar you
what?
You are better in that server than in this server fr
Well you yourself called him Borger too
oh that was before he told me he aint borger
Lol because he is

🥱🥱
ill be reporting this to the moderation team. it isn't very nice of you
Nooooooo
i want an apology :(
apology accepted
🙂
:)
Yay
I remember that guy, everyone would tell him. For the purpose of college application servers, you aren’t a college student because you haven’t gone through the college application process
Hear me out. What if cappe and chrix and borger are all the same person
I think we're getting played
Elipsis why tf would you say that bro I’m ur employee 🥹
that would be so funny
arguing with urself
dude im joking

ik you're not borger or duck or chrix or whatever his name is 😭
what da duck doing was his first form
💀

"what da duck doing"
No cappe is different
He’s a different person
💀💀
bro evolved like squirtle
how tf u so funny
...
I’m a sophomore with only 1 AP this year and it’s phycology. Will I be able to make up for the 10 total I’m hoping to take by senior year?
the only AP im taking is bio
I’d say yeah :D
Hi
What should I take?
I took a career test and they said I should major in laywer/politician
neither of those are majors
you mean law and politics?
Political Science?
Political Science is a major or you can take business/phycology and go to law school after
If you mean high school, explore your classes more and see if other subjects and courses interest you more.
it all depends on your school
are your classmates taking more than one AP?
how many are they taking overall?
My highschool has only 5 hours/periods a day, so I'm am not able to get all the classes i want to take. I wan't to maximize the number of AP's I take, but my highschool also only offers 9 AP's.
You won't get penalized for taking less APs if your school doesn't offer that many to start with. Colleges will take into account things like the funding/the size/the competitiveness of your school
Oh ok, thats good, thanks
I'm a senior in high school rn, and I've been thinking about various courses for college. Computer and chemical engineering are my top choices, is it a good idea to double major in that?
Completely depends on your capabilities and interests. Both the subjects highly demanding. I suggest you try managing both the subjects for first semester before declaring your major... see how it works out and then decide accordingly.
I'm a canadian student going into grade 11. Going into semester 1 I have AP Bio, highschool calculus, grade 11 english, and photography/video as an elective. second semester I have AP Bio, Pre-AP Chem, AP Calculus AB, and Physical Education 11. I wanted to know if I should take all of my electives like phys ed and photography in semester one so I have time to prep for my AP tests early OR should I balance them one per semester
U should balance
I would suggest balancing them.
Are you allowed to be in normal high school and take a course(s) from michiganvirtual.org at the same time?
Yeah just like FLVS for me just make sure to get your counselor to allow the classes for you
And you should be all good
I emailed my counseler and they said "Michigan Virtual is considered an online highschool...however, I don't think you can be enrolled in both schools at the same time during the school year and earn credit" and then they forwarded my email to other people in my district to see if I could.
Oh I’m that case unfortunately I don’t think it would be possible ☹️
Oh :(, do you know of any online resources that work in michigan?
Let me search it up and see
Ok, thank you
I think unfortunately the only one is Michigan virtual however Virtual High School Global Consortium could offer you classes, you’d have to check with your counselor
My school district offers AP human geo to freshman to fulfill their first social studies credit. I’m planning on taking that class this coming school year but I’ve heard a lot of things that make me wonder if I should or not, and I have the first week of school to change the class if I need to. Im gonna quickly describe myself and I want to see if anyone thinks I should or shouldn’t take the class.
I’m a very hardworking student. I’ve gotten all A’s my entire life (through 8th grade) and I’ve been dreaming about college since I was 10. I have very big goals for myself and I have always taken the most advanced classes I can. I am 2 years ahead in math and I am identified as gifted and talented. I always try my best in school and I come out with great results. All of this is great, however, I struggle with stress and get burnt out really easily since I push myself way too hard. I also pile way too many extracurricular activities on my plate and have so much to do. I expect too much of myself, but I am also ready to take a challenge.
I absolutely think I have the capability of taking this class. This is also the only AP class offered to freshman, so I wouldn’t have to worry about stacking AP classes on one another, but the rest of my classes are honors or GT when available. I think I’m definitely smart and driven enough to take the class, I just don’t know if I’m going to be able to handle it with everything else I have. I also plan to take a lot more AP classes in the future, making me think I should take this to get experience.
So, based on the description of myself and my thoughts….should I take AP human geo this (freshman) year? I really need more opinions to help make a decision.
Ap human is super easy no need to stress
I took it and Ap world last year (my freshman year)
I think you should take the class if you are interested in the topic. You won’t get as burnt out if you are interested in the subject and you will want to learn about it. Also, if you’re interested in it and you choose to major in similar field in college you can use the credits you will earn from the course.
Agreed
I am interested in all subjects to be honest, and I think it’s part of the reason why I do so well (and end up choosing all the harder classes) I’m not planning to major in anything history related (I want to major in music performance ) but I want to show universities that I have challenged myself and performed well. I just worry im going to push myself too hard in everything. I kinda already am.
so you want to show that University that you are well rounded?
Yes. Also aiming for scholarships. Anything that’ll boost my application.
I say take it
Helps with weighted gpa
And it’s rlly not that big of a time commitment
I'd highly reccomend you take it based on how you think of yourself and how easy the class i'd strongly reccomend you take it
Okay. Thank you to everyone who gave me feedback.
yea
How hard is APUSH?
it's hard
Any opinions on taking AP Calc BC w/out AB? Currently taking AP Precalc (I still don’t know why that exists, man), freshman, planning on majoring in engineering field.
Hey, I want to take ap bio this coming year, but I’m scared to ask to be placed into it since they don’t usually let anyone under 11th grade take aps at my school
Any suggestions? Pls and thx
Just ask. The worst they can say is no
That’s true, thank u 😁
It’s a special request for a reason
Wish me luck
You could mention past science classes you’ve taken too
That’s true
But your counselor probably already has somewhat of an idea what classes are available to freshman and sophomores
I took a earth science honors class two years early, is that good to mention
i'm starting high school this year and i am planning to take geometry and algebra 2 in the same year. can anyone offer some insight as to what i might be in for?
A class you just took
Yea I just took it
Do I have to take an honors class for a full 4 years or 3 years to gain college credit?
Just study a bit before hand. Geometry honestly isn't that hard and is a class a lot of people (easily) take over the summer
algebra 2 shouldn't be too bad either. I recommend going through the first few units of it tho on a place like khanacademy
Honors classes do not provide any college credit
Oh.
Ty for letting me know
Would u guys recommend taking algebra 2 over the summer
Honestly no. Unless you're pretty good with math, I wouldn't skip it
Algebra 2 covers a lot of the fundamentals you'll need if you're taking the SAT and ACT
best not to rush over it
Is alg 2 hard?
Your school allows two math classes at the same time!? What state are you guys in?
Does alg 2 honors also cover a lot of precalc or just a little (not worried about the trig side of things)?
yeah there's a good mix of precalc within algebra 2
but not everything is the same (mainly trig, but you said you're fine with it)
Nice, Im not skipping precalc but am going to do an intense junior year so the less I have to do for math the better
U don’t get nothing from those
Besides a gpa bump depending on ur school
Why man math is great
just take it if u did well in AP human
Hey guys I am thinking ahead but I’m pretty good at math, so is it possible to test out or skip precalc and what fo y’all think
Prob, I didn’t remember anything I learned from my semester of pre calc
Ok thx
Yeah mostly Alg II honors is half Alg II bd half trig
ye
it depends on your school
I think most schools allow u to skip math classes if u show that you are competent in that area of math
Yes.
There is no psycology teacher in my school 💀
I'm taking commerce that just teaches law, economics, politics and buisnesses.
Should I go for CS or agriculture?
I am in my sophomore year now and my school doesn't have AP's, I consider taking them on my own and self studying. Should I take the hardest classes while the school load is kinda relaxed or should I go with an easier one? And what AP courses do you guys suggest
Does anybody know any opportunities/clubs/programs/workshops etc for middle school?
Or high school?
If you can focus on your major, that’s great. Scattering classes will affect your common app
Just focus on one theme
My major is accounting any tips?
should i take AP Sem or AP Lang, going into 11th
lang
Considering Self-Studying an AP. Not sure if it's necissary for my case that's why idk yet. When I get into college I wanna study CS. I did CSP last year and past. Taking AP World this year. For math I'm taking Algebra II. What AP classes should I consider self studying?
Prob classes you think you’ll enjoy
Or specifically smth for CS
but I assume if you wanna do CS then you’d like CSA
CSA is very fun and chill
10/10 would recommend
It covers very basic java concepts
Easy to study
did you take lang or sem by chance
YASSSSS
MY SCHOOL ALLOWS US TO TAKE 10-12TH GRADE COURSES IN 9TH GRADE
time to take 8 aps 😎
should i take AP CSA in freshman? i know basic python
can I atleast take ap world
ez?
I’m also taking AP hug
wtf
One AP class took 2.5 hours? 🥹
how u gonna fucking manage 6
wtf man I thought AP world wasn’t hard
damn it bro
and will I be paired up with sophomores
^
Will I be with sophomores or not
why
What does it say?
Not the test, the class
Sophomores bully me on discord 🥹
I would rather be with seniors
don’t worry about it
it was a Stanford researcher lmao
😅
a rising sophomore Stanford researcher
No
like a sophomore in high school who researches with Stanford professors
don’t worry last time we had a talk I roasted him
It was 2 am in the morning lmao
maybe he was drunk
ima do that and Stat Junior year, but yeah I was considering that. What other course do you think tho? it doesn't have to be CSA related but just in generala. I was thinking APES
Anyone know if it is smart to take all the math and science courses for my grade 12 highschool year?
for select collage/university courses, i need to take the necessary pre-requisites though.
but what if i dont have a clear idea of what i want to take in post secondary, but i dont want to limit my options...
or should i take a break year?
is the ap international diploma worth pursuing? I could get it but I will need to self study another AP (and I already have a loaded schedule).
Should I apply for the International Baccalaureate program in HS?
Probably not gonna be a game changer for your app
If you’re already loaded
Not worth it
If you’re interested then sure, ib is literally nothing for the first two years of hs and only really picks up your junior and senior year so you can use those two years to decide if you want to stick in it
It’s a pretty large time commitment though once it does pick up but you’ll probably be told that by like a counselor or something
Any opinions on taking AP Calc BC w/out AB? Currently taking AP Precalc (I still don’t know why that exists, man), freshman, planning on majoring in engineering field.
Should I self study precalculus and go straight to AP Calc BC?
if you’re planning to do that u need a really good understanding of precalc and calc
Hey, I go to a school that is relatively more focused on athletics instead of academics, ex. winning state baseball tournament this year, nonstop yearound spots practices, ect. I wouldn't have any problem with this in the first place except for the fact that they don't let you take advanced math/science concepts early or they don't let you take more advanced classes without taking the stupid and slow prerequisites first, ect. you can't take AP Chem without taking Adv Chem, you cant take AP Physics 2 or 3 without taking AP Physics 1, and they don't let you take AP Calc AB or BC without taking Precal. In addition to this, they only have 3 elective spots which include extracurriculars, (debate, robotics, math team, ect.) sports, and languages, and they don't require you to take a language to graduate. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to raise my college app success, I'm a straight A student, student athlete with a good chance of playing at least 2 years of varsity sports? I would really appreciate it, thanks!
Ay the course selection is out of your control, work with what you have and colleges will understand that. With the Athletic part, I’m not sure about, but with your ECs, try expanding them a little. For languages, get a state bi-literacy certification or do an AP class. If you speak more than two, you are officially a polyglot so as long as you have that status it’s good for college apps. You can go far with math team and robotics, for my school the captain just got admitted to Dartmouth so take that as far as possible. With debate, try to go international or if it’s MUN a top conference or grab a leadership position. And one more thing on robotics, try looking for a passion project to put the cherry on top. DISCLAIMER: take everything I say with a grain of salt, each situation is different so just make sure that you know how to make use of the resources that you have.
Thanks for the help, I am definitely looking into getting my state bi-literacy certification, hopefully the colleges will get over me not having four years of a language because of that.
same fr
prob is i cant even get a ec started because of this
Have you talked with a school administrator?
hey everyone, how do you choose the best courses for dual enrollment to meet the requirements for your school and general education requirements @everyone
What AP courses should I take other than AP CSP and AP HUG in freshman year?
max no
ur opinion is rejected
alright
I can take ap Chem
too late I already sent out the email
now ur gonna do my homework
Lol
lmaoo
Is it there any benefit in taking AP classes that aren't related to your post secondary major for example I'm taking AP Psych and AP Bio but I wanna go into biomedical engg
Yes, they boost your weighted gpa, show well roundness in multiple subjects
Contributes to taking a rigorous course load
But remind taking the most rigorous course load doesn’t mean taking as many AP classes as you can
@pearl mesa how do you choose the best courses for dual enrollment to meet the requirements for your school and general education requirements
Well I feel like your schools requirements should also meet general education requirements
Assuming you mean your states education reqs
yes
So you’d only be choosing classes that fit your school requirement
Bc your schools requirement will fit the states requirement
grad requirements right?
Yes
So you can take DE classes based off interest, or maybe your next level up for a math class is DE.
i see
but only in state colleges would accept that credit right?
not the ivies?
It’s rare for out of state schools to accept DE
They would not
oh ok
what about like english, history, or science? same thing?
Same thing, but there comes a certain point where there’s not really a next level.
It’s just more classes you take
Talk to a counselor
And teachers to see if you’re ready to take those classes
Otherwise you work your way up to it
certain point meaning you are already took all the courses in that area of interest ?
Up to a certain point meaning, classes are exchangeable. I see people take classes like AP world and AP Human geography as different points in HS
Obviously not DE classes but the same concept applies
I have the chance to take any AP I want, I have no clue what i want my career to be though, so how would you guys recommend to choose 1?
just take what seems inteseting to you
Whats more impressive to an admissions officer, taking just AP Chem or AP psychology and APES. (Lets assume I’d get the exact same score in the class and exact same score on ap test if I took both classes)
depends on a lot of factors but AP Chem
i want to take art in high school but not sure if I should take the course.. some say it’ll hurt my GPA bc it’s two 4.0s (one which I already have) and only one 5.0, but others say I should do it because I’ll have fun and it’ll show I have interests that I committed to.. I’m not sure what to do.. does anyone have any insight on this? open to any opinion
well, how many APs are you taking and what GPA are you aiming for?
maybe above 4.6~ .. trying for top 10% in my competitive school
how many APs u taking 💀
im a freshman taking two APs this yr
human geo and comp sci principles
same
same
what courses did u take?
^
oh awesome
i wanted to take world history as well but cant
oh ya same
my counselor literally said
in the orientation
that u can
but now i emailed her
my schools stricter on which courses we can take in 9th
oh she didn’t recommend it?
You guys are allowed to take aps in 9th grade?
ya but there’s very little
ye
most schools are i think
in my area
just human geo and comp sci principles/a
1 Ap Gov 💀
bruh
duuuude what order to take my science classes is tricky
cuz two ppl I know took kap chemistry sophomore year and now junior year they’re taking physics and chem and the same time
I mostly took honors tho
r honors 5.0?
4.5
oh!
in my school we have courses where it’s a 5.0 but not an AP and an easier workload
Good for you
which
@steady shore where are you from btw?
I think chemistry, geometry, then all the 9th grade core classes
wtf
texas
same
Oh nice
ya but most ppl take chemistry and biology that way (bc it’s mandatory) then go back and do the AP course
so it’s kind of a thorn cuz i have to fit AP bio and chem into my courseload
cool! would u recommend chem and bio in the same year?
because I’ve heard AP bio is a lot
are u taking honors bio this year
ya something like that
hey, is someone interested to be my studypartner
can i take human geography (example) as a dual enrollment class and then in sophomore year can i take ap hug to be prepared?
would be helpfull
what is the chance of one getting one of their alternative classes?
Wdym
depends on how popular your original choice was
oh ok
AP World, AP PreCalc, AP Physchology and AP Bio, Honors English and French 3
ezzz
is AP psych easy?
AP Bio is a hard one from what I've heard
yeah lol
have you taken it before?
im a freshman
cool
is AP principles of comp sci hard
ezzz
is ap lang hard
oof
Is anatomy and physiology honors hard?
its a lot of timed writing and sat like mcq questions, depends on your teacher but if you get it down usually the class is light and the test shouldnt be too bad either
k
I'm taking English 1 honors in 9th grade so i wont be able to talk AP lang before junior year so i wont get that prep for SAT. would u recommend skipping english honors 2
any ib students here? ._.
lol that one dude

if your school allows it and you feel like you can make that jump, although it may be kind of difficult at first if youre not that good at writing or english, if youre taking ap lang though junior year you can just schedule the sat for like may or june after your ap tests when youre not that busy
oh yeah
dont
idk its up to you i think ap lang is a pretty good for prepping for the writing/mcq portions of the sat
wasnt the writing section removed or smth?
writing section is optional ig

im going to my second year of dp
yep right here
how bad is it if I can ask?
namely bio hl, psych hl, and calc aa hl if you've taken any of those?
i feel like those ones are going to be the most challenging for me
chem is more challenging then bio, usually
psych is easy
calc eh didnt take that
i hate dp tbh, especially thr extended essay
u get used to it
its tough, but i got thru it
that's great to hear most of my friends opted for chem and I was honestly second-guessing myself for a bit
I hated the personal project reflection + essay or whatever. I can't imagine extended essay
How is AP Sem in terms of difficulty and HW
moderate
bio isnt that much easier tho
both are hard
in my school
both of them have similar raw test scores around 30-40%
it always gets curved
30-40 is crazy
u take it?
no
in my school ap chem is the hardest ap
30-40 on a test?
thats insane 😭
would not recommend
It has a steep learning curve. It's either you get it, or you fail it.
I immediaty got it.
But, most people are not used to it, so they give up.
Is Anatomy and physiology honors hard?
ye if u dont understand from day 1 ur done for
Yeah
Depends on the mindset and how interested you are in it.
It also depends on how willing you are to memorize a lot of things.
Prior knowledge is something you want. It is going to be more memorizing than AP US History.
I have biology before anatomy will that be helpful?
AP Biology?
Bio honors
I mean i am going to have biology i dont have it yet
Yeah
1st sem bio and next sem anatomy
10th
I wish you prosperty.
Anatomy AND Physoligy or just Anatomy?
Anatomy and physiology honors
I wish you prospertiy.
wdym by that
I wish you good health and I hope you don't. . . um, overwhelm.
I can recommend textbooks.
Should i remove anatomy ? and take a diff subject/course
What major do you wanna go into?
Either Medical or CompScience
Can you dm them?
Yeah.
ty
Do you have a equal passion for both?
Are you going to double major in it?
40 % medical 60% computer science
I dont really know rn
List some other classes
From my schedule?
1st Sem - spanish 1 , ap gov, bio honors and nc math 2 --- 2nd sem - math 3 , python 1 , eng 2 and anatomy
You could do that, and send other classes to sub it,
wdym
Do you the other classes that you want to subsitute Anatomy with?
give me 2mins brb
I got few courses - Entrepreneurship 2, Computer science and chem
Hm.
What should i do?
Anatomy
Alr
I will send you a textbook for Anatomy that is good.
Ty
no they don’t
bruh my counselor didn’t understand my question
maybe she has a personal traumatic experience with AP classes
what courses do i take in high school for cs? (i'm an ib student)
how to choose dual enrollment class @everyone
im not sure about IB but for APs there computer science principles and computer science A(i think there are ib equilavents)
ig it would be computer science hl
thanks though
i do have another question - for a cs degree should i take math aa or ai? and what all subjects should i take hl for a cs degree?
have you not chosen your courses?😭
ibhl cs anD then just try to increase the rigor of your course loaD (this shouldnt be really a problem as an ib stuDent). gooD graDes in like ap physics and ibhl math woulD probably look goo as well
thanks
Is AP chem the move for sophomore year?
ap chem is really hard, be prepared
For the IB, I’m planning on taking Physics Hl Eco Hl and I’m split between Math AA And AI Hl
Considering that I am not that good at math, but want to pursue Physics or Eco, which math would be benefit me?
Manageable? Hard for ppl that don’t pay attention or just hard in general? And if my school is really easy does that have an effect?
in general, as many people say it's hard
though if you regulary study, pay attention in class, and study effeviley with focus
you will be apple to pass it easily
my cousin sister lives in the us and she got a full score in chem ap
this was what she said ^
do remember don't just go all out and not sleep like many students
something that really helps me is sleeping at 10pm or 10:30pm and waking up at 5:30. then i study for two hours before going to school. i come back from school and complete all school work within the next hour. after that i have a couple of tuitions sometimes and then another study session for 1.5 or 2hrs. then i go outside and touch grass for an hour. i come back and DO NOT open my laptop, instead i read books for the next hour and then sleep by 10:30 or 10pm
I haven’t historically been a good studier but I’m naturally pretty smart and I’m trying to start applying myself more this year
stay hydrated, don't overthink it, and don't sleep in the afternoon or in the evening. it affects the time you go to bed and your actual sleep cycle
Plus i live on a military base and the school is pretty dumb
this is my schedule, though feel free to edit it as per your liking and your needs
and whatever classses you have, stuff like that
on saturdays and sundays though, it's a little differnt. i study for blocks of 2 hrs the entire day, taking 10-15 min break between them. after that i go out for around 2 hrs. the reading and stuff stays the same though
What if i have to work in sports and the gym?
do that during the touch t=grass tie
time
like as i said on sat and sun i go for 2 hrs
in those 2 hrs you can play sports
go to the gym
do whatever you like
but do come back home on time
and during the weekdays, you have an hr to do anything
you can increase it to 1.5 hrs tho
Calculus
do u like espanol
Yeah
then take it
Yo guys, i have 2 options of college courses
Cybersecurity and AI with Python
I'm confused as to which one i should take in today's environment.
Any advice?
AI with Python
Cybersecurity
To be honest everybody’s doing with AI
But look at this
Quantum computers exist
They can destroy our encryptions in a matter of seconds
So really as we go into the future technology is just becoming a bigger part of our lives
Means less security
So cybersecurity is also very important in the future
And less chosen
valid
I mean both fields are useful i just personally think cybersecurity is going to be very important in the next few decades due to quantum computing
Quantum computers?
I feel like Cybersecurity is going to last as long as computers while AI is the new buzz and no one knows how long it will last
I never knew those existed
Thanks for the advice
yes bro
take cybersecurity
ai is already advanced enough
cyber security is the weak spot as of nwo
ai is getting thruogh cyber secuiryt
Yeah they do
Yeah securing our computers
Especially as the IoT grows
Yeah no AI will last but I feel there’s too many people going into it
everyone i need some help kinda urgently
i need to pick the right dual enrollment classes and i dont really know how to start
ik to like pick the math class for next year for dual enrollment
but what else?
something that'd be useful in the future? like my high school offers a dual enrollment of MS Word which will be useful in college
your high school offers it? or community college?
My highschool offers it as an elective
oh i see
were u talkin bout college?
Can anyone advice me on what courses I should take in highschool to learn coding???
AP CSA
It’s going to be specific to your school. But for AP classes CSA, and CSP (if you want)
is there any course for coding in IB classes cuz I am going to a IB highschool next year
CSP doesn't teach you coding
Unless you wanna learn block coding 💀
CSP does block coding? 💀
That’s why I said (if you want)
It’s still a good class for learning abt computers
And basics of coding
I thibk
It’s been a while since I’ve been in that class lol
Will it look bad if I take honors math freshman and sophomore year but take regular leveled for junior ?
Im taking AP Gov, AP World, AP Lang, and AP Envi Sci so everything else would be honors
My college focus is political science
i dont think so
Is taking geometry and algebra 2 for precalc together the same year as a sophomore a bad idea?
no
nah my school makes us do it bfr school starts
and it starts the 17th
im an incoming freshman and my schedule is lookin like this:
?
sem 1: honors english 1, honors algebra 2, honors chemistry (its weird we do chem first then bio), ap world, pe1, german 2, introduction to business
sem 2: honors english 1, honors algebra 2, honors chemistry (its weird we do chem first then bio), ap world, pe1, german 2, engineering design studio(3d printing and like stuff like that)
we arent allowed to do ap chem/bio till after we finish both chem 1 and bio 1
ap chem/bio/physics are all optional
Yes 💀
I did it and it was hard and a lot of work (we covered Alg 2, Precalc, and 3-D Geometry as well as the first 2 units of calc AB) So if your class is similar to mine, and I assume it is, it will be a lot of studying and prob about 1 to 2 hours of homework a night.
It was a good idea for me since I get to take calc BC my junior year.
I’m takin them for the same reason but for me the benefit would be being able to take Calc AB my senior year. Now hopefully my counselor would allow that
Your counselor may make you take one during the summer
Yeah, I was gonna take geometry this summer but for some reason my hs decided not to offer any math classes which then forces me to take geometry my sophomore year. And I don’t wanna do that
dam
if you're just going to do ab, this is a controversial opinion, but skip precalc and just take AB your junior year?
My dad skipped pre calc and went to the equivalent to BC at the time and he failed calc 2, but im sure you'd do just fine in AB without precalc
especiay with Alg2 under your belt
I mean yeah that could potentially work as I have heard that our calc teacher is one of the best teacher on board. But it’d be extremely hard to convince my school lmao. Hopefully I can somehow finesse the system.
Though it would be insanely difficult to manage everything
can anyone name the five best APs for sophomores
best as in easiest, most fun, and most rigorous for colleges
i need them too
tips for preparation?
yall recommended i take one ap freshman year no dual enrollment or no ap class and dual enrollment?
what's the AP
what's the major
and what would you DE
100% AP should be prioritized imo
A college isn’t going think too much about you not doing DE (won’t affect much)- however, having the opportunity to take an AP in school and not taking advantage can only bring down your intellectual vitality
@vital olive thoughts?
Is it worth taking classes at a community College while in high school even though it's expensive
ap classes for med ? is physics required im taking ap chem but havent took bio or physics yet. People keep sayign ap physics c is needd but i havent took ap physics 1 yet with no knoweldge of physics
For pre-med? You technically don't need any classes for pre-med but. 1. Bio 2. Chem 3. Physics
In order of importance
how easy are ap exams?
very dependent on the exam
generally if you take the assosicated exam's class and prepare yourself none of them should be too bad
soryr i was at school
so
you must commit yourself
invest in quality material as it's what is going to help you
i reccomend having an ap chem review book
it's super beneficial
solve practice papers, and solve a plethora of question banks
some sources
and make sure to time yourself as well
time management is a very imprtant thing to consider
and ofc: practice, practice, practice
princeton review is also good for ap chem
thanks then
I’m my opinion, yes, if you want to graduate from college early. It’s also cheaper than taking the same class at a four-year institution, However, i would recommend trying to get some scholarships or financial if it’s even possible in your state
I currently do that and have enough financial aid and fee waivers to cover everything except certain course materials
how tf u in high school college and a discord mod at the same time
really good at time management
doing quiz rn good
lmao
Lol
ap comp science a or environmental science, dual enrollment an engineering class and an english class
better than barrons?
i c
what do u want to major in
electrical and electronics engineering
would you have the option to take the remaining one in later years? if so, then look at weighting because some schools may weight de different than ap, but if you dont, i would lowkey go for the AP because u get the AP test + i've heard that colleges doubt DE more, especially classes that aren't widespread (by that i mean like mvc, diff eq, etc.). your eng class sounds like something that isn't like, wide/common if that makes sense. they know how hard ap csa is, so they at least have a base to go off of
tl; dr, take ap unless weightings are different
reamaing what?
like, if u took the ap, would you be able to take the DE at no consequence
Is taking csa still feasible without csp or a lot of knowledge around java
i would take CSA if i could
i took it with 0 knowledge of programming in general (except for html and css but those dont count)
and I did fine in the class + 5 on ap exam
depends on your teacher tho tbh
if they're good, then you're fine
if they're not, well you have to do a ton of outside studying
Csp def not required for CSA, or vice versa
And no knowledge of programming at all for either
Tho it could make things a little easier
My school doesn't allow any APs for Sophomores so would it be a similar thing to take a college class instead?
Yeah but not necessary
I mean it’s not necessary, like taking the college class would look good but it’s not necessary
their question was if a college class is similar to AP class
It kind of is necessary if you want to get into a good college
It’s good for your application
cool but thats not the point here
They said their school doesn’t offer AP
I mean, yes…
thats exactly what i said
So yes it is, but I’m saying may not be necessary
u said taking the college class is not necessary
And that they’re similar
But it is necessary
it is not
@plush osprey why tf would u think taking college classes is necessary
nvm you're class of 2027
I'm asking if it would be better to take a college class than some random extra class like art or something
Very much, thank you kindly
what if i do dual enrollment from 9th-12th and do ap classes from 10-12 because my school doesn't offer any ap classes for freshman students except for language
you'd probably end up with a lot of credits
nor sure abt that
Will getting a 4 on an ap exam look bad in the eyes of top schools ?
so is that bad or good?
use common sense
yeah 💀
like college credits
it’s good until you have too many they won’t accept em
should I take chem H is i did pretty bad on bio tests, and this is gonna be my first year takign honors
do physics ap 1 and 2 take a yearlong for each?
Each school may be different, but wouldn't it be for a semester? Again, all schools run things differently from each other. I would suggest talking to the guidance counselor, or you're science teacher when possible. Most schools haven't gone back yet, so just keep it in mind for when you go back to school.
oh actually because AP is a national program so there are some general parts but ill take that advice
Normal Chemistry doesn't have much to do with biology. Be aware though that chem has A LOT more of math involved compared to bio. If you aren't bad with math and scientific concepts then you should be fine. Basically, as long as you believe in yourself that you're able to handle the work. Since, this is your first honors class these are key things to know.
-Honors is like APJR you will get more work than a CP class, but not as much work as AP.
-Teachers expect more out of you! This means the work you hand in needs to be 100% and strong. They will be more strict with the grading in Honors classes.
-The class moves at a faster pace compared to a CP class. This means you need to grasp onto the concepts being taught in class quickly.
I don't mean any of this to scare you but to prepare you. If I'm being honest as long as you pay attention, stay on task, ask for help, and are ready to learn than you'll do just fine.
Oooh alr
Oh okay thanks😄
is it recommended to take ap physics 1 without physics
k thx
is ap physics 1 a calculus based course
2?
my school allows u to take it as long as ur concurrently in algebra 2 or above
oh nice
and from what ive been studying i havent seen much algebra 2
oh
but its helpful fs
my school requires you to take pre calc before ap physics
damn
yeah?
6 or 7?
cool
i dont plan to do much math next summer
exact same description for my school
what do u plan to do?

ong
Pretty good

ap spanish lang 💀
dont worry if u did fine in English 2 and spanish u will probably do good
AP 2sLGBTQIA+
does anyone have any resources for mne python and eeg
absolutely not wtf
At my school most people take no aps or only one and get into ivys
uh
what do you want to major in
and do you want to take aps to skip classes or take aps to look good
then prob ap calc ab, Chem, physics, bio, etc etc
Then def ap math ones and maybe some ap history
well ap classes aren’t really about being smart ngl
it’s just about how good you are at memorizing stuff
What is it like doing physics c and physics 2 in the same year?
I have a hard time deciding between Computer Engineering and Computer Science,
I love web development but i feel like Computer Science gonna be obsolete giving the improvement of AI
Computer engineering is my second option
ap beans
I would fail
AP Nursing home is easy I’ve got friends who did it
how long did you guys spending doing your hw and stuff in freshman year (im taking 2 aps and 4 honors)
So I was wondering in Canada how likely would it be to need all three sciences... I'm really struggling with picking my courses right now
Here's what I have so far..
First semester - Math 20-1, Social 30-1
Second Semester AP lit, Chem and bio honors
I'm wondering if i should try to make room for math 30 so in gr 12 I can take calculus or should i take physics AP?? I dunno if i'll be able to balence all of it because i'm not that good at math and i have a few extra curricular going on while balencing a job
to my knowledge if you don't take the ap exam you don't get any credit for it when applying to uni or collage
3?
history for business?
ap stats

@vital olive
you dont need to know when america got freedom to run a coffee shop
@mint thorn
stop spamming
cuz u cant answer?
"guys lets make sure that we dont rule over our customers like a king did 100 yrs ago to people"
History of your corporation and whatever field you’re conducting business in is extremely important because you need to understand how your business will work with stockholders and also the work culture. Most business will have a political agenda whether it’s obvious or not so quite a lot of business is working with that. Not only that, studying how to manage the stock market is extremely important because you don’t want to have your business crash if something like the 2008 thingy happens again, so studying on warning signs of an economical collapse is super important
you didnt need to waste ur breath on this guy
u got provoked by a 12 year old
lol
Financial history is a large part of the Yale ICF’s identity and something that ICF Faculty Director, William Goetzmann, and ICF Deputy Director, Geert Rouwenhorst, care passionately about. In this piece, Scott C. Miller, a Yale ICF postdoctoal fellow in economic and business history, writes about the importance of teaching history in business s...
because typing requires breath, nice work genius
just read that blog if ur so confident

they literally said ap histories
The fact you don’t understand colloquialisms is scary
Ok and???
Apush is def important for learning about the industrial and urbanization of the USA
he said business and finance
okay bro I literally said that for finance it doesn’t matter as much
Or sorry, I typed it
Seeing as you don’t understand figures of speech

i dont think its a problem unless u take them all in the same year except physics c
ive heard its hell
i mean i did good in physics 1 but i skipped physics 2
i got a 5 on that exam for physics 1 and 100s every quarter

Guys what courses should I take. ( I wanna do either medicine or cs)
Csp, csa, ap bio, ap Chem if you’re aiming for a competitive school
do u think its a good idea to drop orchestra in sophomore year and french in junior
*bad
My school don't offer csa
self study
Should I also take phy ?
if u want to
Will it be useful if want to take medicine or cs
idk math

nice
Yes physics is important to cs a little but it’ll help in most med
Stats helps both majors too
Oh alr ty
how many levels will you have done by then
asking for a friend. but french 2
by junior year??
