why some years do you have 10 classes, others you have 9 and one you have 8?
and your school goes up to biology 3 š
formulas, formulas, formulas
The whole course?
its a lot of formulas
also, get good at dimension analysis. it helps a lot if you catch yourself in a sticky situation when you forget something
exactly
What are u supposed to do when you wanna take a lot of classes
Bur like⦠donāt have time to
I think taking AP pre calc would be kinda useless just take pre calc because colleges want you to be ready to jump into calculus AP precalc wonāt show anything rather show you that you took calculus in high school(precalc is a high school class though)
I will be a junior this upcoming year, these are the classes I took/will take. I am also in my schools GSA, Mock trial team, and in Civil Air Patrol. What do you think/what should I major in based on this. 9th: Inte. Math 1, Adv. English, PE & Health, AP Italian (at my school they made the class into two years bc all the other classes are way to easy),Theater 1-2, Spanish 1-2, Biology. 10th: Inte.Math 2, Honors English, AP world, AP italian (I took the exam), Chem, PE, photo 1-2 . 11th: AP US history, AP Lang, Cinematography, Theater 3-4, Film as lit (first sem) and sociology (2 sem), Inte Math 3 12th: AP Gov and econ, AP composition, Intro to data science, Honors Cinematography,AP seminar, speech and debate, fashion or painting
does anyone know 3 electives (business related) i can take in grade 11. im canadian btw
sorry ab the format
economics, microeconomics, and law. It depends
i took accounting as one business related course
im thinking law but idk i want to have some bird courses
that's good!
it always depends on what you want to do.
yea thanks
ok, ive taken aphug bfore so no histories but pretty close to one, but i do know a lot of stuff in european history (i do quizbowl and we do study sessions on random stuff and we do a lot of history)
would these be good junior and senior year schedules?
Spanish 4 Honors
AP Calculus BC
Computer Math/App Development 1 Honors (idk i haven't decided yet)
AP Lang
AP Micro and Macroeconomics
Physics Honors
AP US History
bro i forgot to send sneior
nvm ill do i later
but yeah would this be good
Btw if you have so many classes you will have to study for a long time after school. You wonāt have enough time to do extracurricular activities
Try to balance your courses, life, and extracurriculars. When I talked to my course counsellor she told me an analogy. She said high school is a bowl of soup. Your goal is to make it delicious so the colleges would be impressed. If you put too much of something into your soup it will mess up the ratio and it will turn out bad. So try putting a balance between your courses, extracurriculars, and your own life
Jokes on her, I dont have a social life (no joke bcuz a lot of the people at my school think they r special and are just plain and simple assholes)
imo, this is the most random schedule
Tbh people in my school are also like that. But, the only life I have is eat, sleep, go to school, repeat(ig this is what they mean my STEM people not getting a social life)
Are you gonna take AP Spanish?
Finance is great! I love personal finance and accounting.
Greet the interviewer
Make sure u look appropriate
Not too uptight but charismatic and relaxed. Take a deep breath bruv. And focus on the topic at hand.
Anymore?
Id say look over your ur resume and have a general thought of what your answers are gonna be for the questions the interviewer will ask or is looking for.
Keep a good posture and eye contact.
Keep thinking that itās a normal conversation and keep ur tone consistent.
Donāt be monotone all the time itās boring change it up. Unless itās a super formal interview
Lastly have fun with it!
And Good luck!
Ur school have virtual enterprise
Iām taking English 4 FPFA NJROTC 4 American government and economics Intro to culinary arts and Emergency medical responder and Emergency Medical Tech
So?
Why you responded like that that rude
Sorry
My bad
I wanted to mean
Wahts your question
šš
My English not so good
So sprry
Where you from
India
I love India food
California United state I from oc I live in the suburban city of oc call La habra my hobbies are painting drawing practicing CPR
Can we be friends...?š
Sure
What you wanna become?
Iām 17 by the way my dream is to become EMT or real estate agent
You Hispanic?
Yes
Que lo que
I was born and raised in United States I have Mexican blood and si hablo espaƱol Mexicano Por que ay dos espaƱol Mexico e de espana
then get certifieed
ik some cc's have programs to get certified
u can get trained and start being an emt like next yr
oh nvm, thats what ur doing rn
We have to take 9 classes per year, we have a zero hour that stays the same and 4 different classes each day
And PE, Health, and Spanish 2 are over the summer
I want to take AP precalc for the GPA boost, but idk if my school offers it
I see, Alright then up to you then. You are going to take the exam right?
No
Ok š
Of your school doesnāt offer it the closest it would get to AP precalc is honours precalc if you have it
Yeah I think my school offers Advanced precalc
Thanks
Yeah great š take that
alr well I'm having problems choosing between AP Psychology and General Psychology. I'm going to be taking Anatomy at the same time and I keep having people tell me I'm going to die. especially since I also do sports and extra curriculars.. I don't know what to do
these are my classes I'm planning on taking
would Electrical engineering be better or Mechanical Engineering?
@copper coral
What are all of your classes
here
K
You are not taking too hard classes
If you were doing Anatomy and AP Bio, and AP Lang, I would not recommend it, but you should do it
Hey, my father is recommending duel enrollment, and I am wondering if I should take duel enrollment in high school and what classes are available for duel enrollment
what are the prerequisite math classes for linear algebra
and for the common classes that people do dual enrollment at community colleges
like linear algebra, multivariable calc, and differential equations
what exactly is the order you take them in
is it linear algebra first
and do you need to have completed calc bc for all of em
usually 2 to 3 semesters of calculus
ab or bc?
its only 1 semester at my school
1 semester/term in my school is about 18 weeks
ye thatās the normal semester length
The rest of the calculus series
high school?
yeah
oh
then
calc ab is 1 semester
calc bc is 2 semesrers
semesters
so calc bc credit would be calc 1 & 2 in college
so for linear algebra most of the time you need calc 3
oh
either as a co-req or a pre req
that is a weird one
at my college linear algebra and differential equations are combined into one 5 unit class, but you can also take them separately in two 3 unit classes
for differential equations technically you only need calc 2
so do you take differential equations after linear & multivariable calc
i am going to take the combined linear algebra and diff class
so at the same time?
itās something you will discuss with your college counselor when you get there
you can take it concurrently with multi, could take it after, it depends
my school actually doesnt offer those classes
yes i know
so i would have to take it at a cc
yeah
that is what iām saying
High schools donāt have the resources to offer that high level of math
im going into my junior yr now
and im gonna take pre calc and calc ab
and senior yr i will take calc bc
so would it be a good idea to take all those classes senior yr
or summer after senior yr
Heyy
I am good at Maths and Physics but I am interested in journalism. Any suggestions?
Well so the stuff you like
I mean up to you
Wait ur in 8th grade
Why r you guys so worried about college?
The courses you do have nothing to do with college, I think
Like my highschool doesn't have nearly as many AP's as most schools
I see on this
Whats the highest level of math most cs majors do in a bs in computer science?
Well it depends
Because cs would max be calc 2
And something called discrete math is suppose
Im taking that in my 2nd year. Would there be no direct math classes after that?
Discrete math*
Is 3 APs enough to impress a college if you dedicate a lot of your time to extracurriculares
depends
what were the aps cs vs and how many are offered
how to get into yale
rn im taking a bio course over the summer and I have a 71. the grade's most likely gonna go up but idk if I'll be able to get it to an A by the end of the course, so my question is should i drop it or nah? bc if i drop it it's gonna show on my transcript as a withdrawn pass and idk if that will look bad
I think if you pass the course, it doesnāt matter what grade you get. You just need to pass in order to advance to your next grade level.
Hello
Is AP physiology a good fit for me I going into my senior year of high school
Psychology is a good class for every person
Go for it
Itās good to learn about psychology
depends
u took it?
yeah for sure I took it in 6th grade
Bruh how
Was i right to take yearbook and be apart of it
can I take band in freshman year even if I have not done it in middle school š
how old r u
21
you might. some high schools have a class. but you wont be able to take marching band unless you plan on playing percussion
Ok
This was the complete opposite at my school, everyone could march except percussionists. I did percussion starting in 7th grade and my middle school did a WGI circuit to prepare us to march in marching band. When I got to High School, they only let the people who did percussion prior to do it. If you didn't, they gave you a flute or something.
yes it is encouaged
woah really?
mhm
(i've marched Bass, Snare, Tenors, Alto Sax, Contra Tuba, and a few parades on trumpet)
the percussionists at my high school have a band camp for marching band so we practice along side the rest of the marching band
cool
wdym
Only percussionists have band camp š
right before school starts all the students doing band camp are part of marching band
our school's band camp is for all the marching kids
Yeah
We have band camp for the 2 week b4 school starts and then during the summer tuesday, wednesday, thursday from 4-9
Percussion then meets extra on saturdays
ohhh nice
yeah
and we have 4-6 practice on tues and thurs
noice
that a long practice
are you guys super competitive or...
no we just sucked so bad coming out of. covid
this year, im not doing it, but i've heard its lighter
ohhh ok
take revenge lmao
i did
oh
Basically the percussion director didn't like that i was nationally ranked in other things, and he felt that others who only had percussion deserved it better, so he cut me from the winter line, and then said that since I didn't do the winter line I wasn't elligible to audition in the fall
oh dang
thats unfair
if you're a good percussionist then you should be allowed to stay
My school was going to go to WGI World Champs in Dayton, but we didn't have nearly enough money so we couldn't
i was a reliable percussionist
not a great one
thats still good
some people cant even hold their mallets right
I accompany choirs and jazz bands n stuff
jazz band is pretty epic
you'd be surprised how many jazz bands need a drummer or someone to play vibes
most people avoid the vibes for some reason
i started from pit because the drums were really heavy
i remember when i first put it on and i started to fall forward
I wanted to play drumset, but they didn't want to write a set part so they were gonna make me play vibes so i stopped showing up until they gave me the rack.
ah ok
Rack was fun cus it was just like marching instruments but not marching and i had to cover a bunch of parts so i was running around the entire time
fr
oh wow
In 7th grade I marched bass 5
I remember going to a football game and I hit a pole with it on
lmao
Our percussion had a winter season and we'd go to a few football games
band didn't do jackshit
the winter season is honestly better in my opinion
oh
I did it in Middle school, than covid, then my year back I got injured bad playing soccer so I couldn't march, and then this year when he decided to cut me
ohhh ok
covid kinda caused lots of people to quite marching band in my school
Hes actually leaving now. We're losing everyone in out instrumental music department except 1 band director and that band director tried getting me to stay but i'd have to march Bass 2.
I said i'd do it if he could work it into my schedule. ( which he can't)
oh no
are you in another music class (orch, band, etc)
I'm in the chamber choir
woah thats cool
That wasn't the main issue tho
Yeah
I said he could bemd the rules and he wasl ike nahhhh
My school only offers 6 periods
so thats how bad it was looking
cant you ask for a 0 period or smth
They don't have a 0 period class i could take for it
oh ok
I got a course passed through my school board, and worked closely with the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum on making a class for my Mock Trial program, but it didn't get UC Certified yet so its not gonna be a 0 period yet
but that would have added on
thats really cool though
are you in Cali
mhm
(india rn though)
oh im in cali maybe i can help?
i see you typing
yeah lmao
alr
just waiting on the UC system to A-G certify the course
well even if the mock triial program doesnt get UC certified i would still take it
but itās in my districts course catalog officially and itās being taught at one of the high schools
well and if the elective counts towards the elective requirements
from my experience only AP classes have counted for electives in college
we also donāt have anyone that is allowed to teach it yet sadly
no the A-G requirements for admission
oh with your class schedule you don't need to worry bout that lol
i see
Iāve already met the A through G requirements
but from what i now if someone has the credits to graduate from a CA highschool they automatically meet the A-G requirements
no
California only requires 13 classes
my school adds on 10
not all 23 meet the requirements for a-g tho
well other than the usual 4 years english, 3 years math, 2 years science theres just like 3 other courses that are required
i think its 2 years foreign language 1 year art
and at least at my higschool they required those things too
interesting
dang
we only require 2 years of math and we don't even require math 2, we only require foundations math 2
hmm i see
wrong ss
well sometimes schools can get away with including the math requirement into other classes
idk if yours might do that
i think the school kinda meets the math requirement through the academic breadth section
i mean with the breadth section and the electives its kinda crazy that most dont imo LOL but i can see what you mean
Electives are like TA and PE
i know some....interesting kids at my school too
Stick em in Art
ah
I knew a kid who never showed up to his classes after lunch and somehow still walked
yeah
They take all the credits they miss in like a 4 hour course online
sounds like my school
well regardless your courseload looks great for what i assume is your junior year?
actually feels like a senior couseload with all the CC classes too
yeah
I finish my AA fall sem
dang youre getting an AA?
I will have 235 credits in all the right categorys by the end of my junior year tho
My district also doesn't accept college credit as high school credit
they think they're better
neither does mine tbf
so next year I have to take lower level classes
again
fr my degree should certify my high school graduation
i want to have a senior year but i don't wanna take classes again
i just wanna take like 2 electives and thats it
yeah just do that
can't
i mean if youre basically done with hs just take easy af classes and take a break
even if you have to take like 4 classes
I have to enroll in at least 2 core academic classes... which they don't have any more to give me so they're trying to figure it out, and then i have to be enrolled in a minimum of 5 classes.
see if you could TA in like 2 classes or something lol
my solution was to let me take us history my senior year, but another policy makes me take it junior year
i mean you still have junior year
those aren't core classes lol
cus like i will be fine on electives
Yeah but they still don't know what core classes I can be in because I have complete them all
its usually PE, English, and gov/econ, but im getting those credits at another school, so then its like, what other core academic classes can they give me? I have the max math and science lol
i mean just take like 2 fewer classes this year and move them to next year
can't
like take gov and econ nxt year
wdym
so
5 of those classes are in a lab
or based around it
so i can't just not do some of the classes
how are gov and econ in a lab? okay maybe your school is just weird lol
Its not at my school
im sure there's a way to take new classes senior year
just talk to your conselor abt it
.
i just feel like this is a non issue
girl youre prob top of the class just talk to your conselor abt it
"there is a posibility we may not be able to graduate you"
girl aint no fucking way im sorry
What that means is that they could get me a diploma from the continuation school
what they usually do
it just looks bad
lol
if i apply to ucs i apply as a freshman even with my aa so
They see hs more than college
i can assure you that they wont be wondering if you graduated or npt
the other option is a directive studies English class and I just double up on english
just get any form of hs diploma and apply and youll get into at least 1 UC lol
yeah with the CC credit fs
its cus i am taking more than 80 courses in total so the GPA i would need to be top 10% in my class is a 3.6 and i have a 4.6
Luckily i don't plan on going anywhere else
but yeah
UCs rock so youre not missing out if you just apply to them yeah
Also E, this is the same school whos counselor called the cops on me because I missed two days of school due to a flight delay which we called the school about
and I had to go to court and argue that i wasn't truant
because i didn't even miss 3 ddays
thats the plan
are your parents on board?
wdym
just like are they aware about your class load and the problems around that?
i feel like they could help
yeah so talk to them about this if it really becomes an issue
My mom just thinks my counselor is stupid
youll figure it out im sure
they're gonna know if im not gonna graduate š
no they will
i don't get paid enough to actually deal with it
you dont get paid š
Ill just make an entire thing saying they're transphobic if they don't graduate me
girl please
dont do that
theres too much hate already
sorry im jaded about that stuff
i won't š
I live in the bible belt of california, well close neough to it
i don't wanna be hung 20 miles awya
sorry that sucks
nah its actually pretty nice believe it or not
besides the hate
the people are nice and have their shit together so
i live in a pretty progressive area so ig its hard for me to relate
they just have something against transpeople
ah
I live in the most progressive conservative place
damn sacremento fs š
no
jk jk
sheesh
and where the state government doesn't fund the social programs so we have people just on their own besides the benevolence of our own people
yeah ig its different for me for better or worse
im not gonna lie im in a fairly affluent area so the schools here are more helpful ig
š
I live in a lower-middle class area which is the nice part
So our schools are pretty good
I need help
So I need 40 more credits to graduate high school what should I take to finish it off cause I doing health for summer school and I only taking 5 class both semester
y r u doing calc 1 and 2 at cc when ur doing calc 2 at hs
These are all the courses I have and plan to take, is this rigorous enough?
What is ur definition of rigorous enough
like for a school for Harvard, mit?
U of M and UPenn are my dream schools
And why take English 11
there is no honors at my school for 11 and i didnt want to take ap lang
Why are u not taking AP classes for social studies
U.S. history world geography
Hate history
Take ap lang for UPenn
its whatever
u have to take the most rigorous acailable for ivy
ok, thx
Take ap for social studies as well for UPenn if u can
1 ap aint gonna break a schedule
you might have to study a lot
Make it 5
idk, the schedule seems like it has severe lack of planning
i switched schools after 9th so i went from having 8 classes to 6 so I didn't know what to take
Dang lol I also switched and I have 8 now instead of 7 and I canāt think of what to take
oof
its not about telling what they like
then plan
but if they are gonna major in art then I donāt see a problem with that
š¤
Oh wait theyāre only taking one art classs
r they majoriing in that
idk where ur getting all this info from
I was thinking about majoring in music technology
wtf
i didnt get into band so i had to take that
bruh
consider making revisions to ur schedule
anyways I would say u messed ur schedule a bit on the freshman year but just look into classes like stagecraft
its not messed up
idk what ur saying about all this stuff
to explore intrests?
Public speaking??
^
lmao okay thatās not how it works for UPenn
mandatory
I hate when states apply some requirements
u seriously think a 9th grader is gonna know what they gonna want to do for the rest of their life?
yeah UPenn students do
they probably figured it out in 1st grade
i literally have a friend that got accepted to upenn and his schedule had something similar
u gotta stop judging especially since u dont even go to college
My extracurriculars will help out on that since ive been doing robotics and compsci club
idk I was just speaking from experience
why u so mad
what experience
I have freinds
so does everyone else?
??
Iām pretty sure you donāt because you wonāt be hanging out here
Considering ur a f*cking junior
What happened to preparing for SAT?
theres something called "having different priorities"
think whatever u want
why do u sound like borger
tf
haha
Is Spanish 9th grade honors hard
No
What specific spanish level? Cuz 1 and 2 were extremely light.
2
Intermediate 2
I did the most advanced version of spanish 2 at my school and it was a carbon copy of spanish 1 except with some past tense units (like 2 months of that)
I only did spanish 2 for brightfutures (fl scholarship for free state college)
oops, calc 1 and calc 2 are at a university and iām taking calc bc so i can get high school math credit. Just gives me guaranteed credit since idk how well iāll do on the ap exam
this guy lowkey borgers alt or half brother
š
huh ok
then y not switch the math with something else so that after u get ur test score u can get placed in a higher math
so that it doesnt take as much time
I going to do college course online like Calculus 1 and AP physic c Mechanics
it saves more time
Hi
uh?
wdym
save the college math for a different semester
why tho
cuz ur doing both at the same time and if u get like a 5 on the ap test all the cc stuff would be useless
no
because transferring
If i transfer my credit from a CSU, my major program will accept it at some colleges while they wonāt accept a 5
whats the some college?
and if i go to an out of state ubi, theyāll accept my ap credit as more
wdym
my major program will accept it at "some colleges" while they wonāt accept a 5
UCs accpet ap credit
for general ed
individual schools and majors dojt
donāt
itās common
major related courses also account for gen ed
fullerton?
major courses count for ge, not all ge courses count for major
worse
ew
y not? cuz i thought if u have the ap score then it counts for the course which is also on the major classes
my school doesnāt do dual enrollment so the next best thing is to take the same course at a uni and at hs
It depends on the schools rules
how did u get accepted to csuf?
but how did u get accepted
if you go into a liberal arts major, the school will likely accept any ap credit, go into engineering they prob wonāt accept any
a little bit of
trolling š
my mom does admissions
technically iām admitted as a student in a different college, but then i take the classes at csuf
itās a fun little thing
how does that work with attendance and work?
cuz the prof at the other college would have assigned work n stuf, right?
ye
So professors have freedom on how to teach their class
and a lot give optional homework
including this one
and attendance is just more help for me so
show up and take the tests
y dont u just wanna go to class at the other college
wdym
the college ur admitted to
^
iām enrolled in the classes at csuf, so thatās where theyāre taken, i am an enrolled student in fcc. Just means that i donāt have permission to enroll in other classes at csuf without certain things.
I take other classes at the college tho
how r u enrolled if ur not an actural student
the same way you do it when you want to take electives at another high school
youāre not an actual student at that other high school, youāre just enrolled in the class
same way in college
yeah but dont u gotta be an admitted student at csuf to take classes there
no you donāt
oh rlly?
you have to be an admitted student at fcc
then how will i get credits?
it goes on your fresno state transcript and your fcc transcript
admitted just gives you 4 years of eligibility and 135 units of privilege to enroll in classes
i was just given that privilege for 9 units and 2 courses
huh, cuz im just doing classes at cc
itās common here for fcc students to do this for major requirements, especially for stem majors, so i just did it too.and my mom works there so she helped me
my cc had a deal with csuf with this sort of thing
ah
i dont think my cc has an agreement
but whats the purpose of getting csuf and cc credit for the same class? if u do just cc wont it just transfer
Eh, better opportunity.
huh
Anyone know anything bout this?
I could do it at the CC if i wanted
Pls help
sorry i donāt
iād say probably since thatās a high level
you could teach it š¤·āāļø
Ok
just look around
isnt there like a job shortage rn?
Btw can anyone tell me the course structure in US?
wdym
Like how is it structured?
Of your education system whole thing?
thats wayyy to vague
wdym by that
whats class 4
grade level?
Yeah
from elem to college is 16 iirc
This...?
wdym?
like just classes or classes + teachers
It's so confusing
ur not clear
sometimes people admit their toddlers to pre school
Then..
elem
Then...
ms
What's Ms?
Then...
hs
What do you study at HS?
the general education requirements
Like arts and science and commerce all of them?
sure
Srsly?
yeah
Then...
college
How old are u at HS?
bruh wtf ru guys talking about
14-18
Ok
idk
Then you get to study your preferred subjects in College?
Why are you asking these questions
After 18 years of your life...
not necessarily
Thatās so dumb
stop judging
Just search this stuff
Then after HS you get job?
u can get a job in ms
Whatt
Not full time
A part time one
some people do full time
When are u supposed to get a decent job?
not always
After college?
wdym by decent?
Where you can support you kids and stuff?
college mostly cuz people in hs usually dont have children
how often do u see high school pregnancies š ?
What y'all are doin rn?
not often
but they happen
y do u care?
I mean here in my country after you get A master degree or soo you get a decent paying job then you can settle with a family...
Wait how much is decent pay
not everyone does that
Yeah
decent is different to a lot of people
Thats the process here
Masters Degree is so cool
i find phd to be cooler
how much can u expect to earn after Masters in CS
varies by location
USA?
Minimum wage
^
š
i dont think so
Texas?
10$ a week
Bruh
can u not read? just read the sentence
no minimodding but ok
Ok Ask me something
Donāt get a degree in CS
Regarding studies
Work at Walmart
Cuz you dumb
Your*
what
Youāre**
@haughty schooner I reported you for verbal abuse
bruh
Is it okay?
what
yeah duh
What
Its rude
does it look like anyone gives a fuck?
fuck yes
Why....you so rude?
how is fuck rude
Then what's rude?
how old r u?
racist slurs, I suggest we move to a diff channel
Y do you care
just courious
You guys are currently violating rule 7: Use channels for their intended purpose. Please terminate conversation from this channel. I am getting uncomfortable š£
12
Bet
ur 12?
No
Btw which course is best for job opportunities?
Iām 15
What...
What are the options?
y cant u just research it
š
How to pick classes
Oh yeah my bad
at least its a t500
ag?
agriculture
ag is kinda lame imo
but still
it takes months to get a yield
Especially if im trying to grow an avacado tree from seed
it takes like too long
Agreed and the name too
is the AP stats class related to machine learning
no
but it does go a little into linear regression but not in a machine learning way
In elementary and middle school, you're exposed to a variety of different classes (arts, science, math, P.E, etc.). Im hs you can figure out what you want to do and take more courses related to that topic, but there's still a good mix of other classes. In college is where you choose your major which is the topic which you want to get a degree/job in. That is where you mainly only take classes required for your degree\
no
can it help? yes
not directly ML tho
Oh okay lol i read somewhere being good at math is important for ML
it is, you just don't need to be good at math for AP stats
Ap stats is a pretty easy class
alr
my teachers was...bad for ap stats but the content is actually pretty interesting
is english 9 honors similar to regular english?
Yeah itās pretty similar, honors has a heavier work load though, still Iād totally recommend it. Iām not the greatest student but still enjoyed myself and did well. If you have any more questions ab the class feel free to reach out!
what grade did you get?
I aced it
yeah just nervous about it lol
first time taking an honors class, so i dont know how i'll react or what it'll be like
Hey donāt worry, high-school is very never racking. Itās gonna be alright trust.
yeah, and on my i-ready, i got like at grade level for reading, shouldnt i be getting above considering i've been recommended for it?
If you donāt like it and canāt handle the work load, you can always drop down a level. But be prepared for people that may not take school as seriously
how many assignments did you get a week if you remembered
3ish, every teacher is gonna be a bit different
Depends on the school
My school itās the exact same except just something tweaked
Just looks better on an application
alr, and is it true honor classes boost your gpa by 0.5?
ikr
Burn it alive
it's saying im barely at grade level for reading
but i have an A+ in english this school year
U guys have any advice for pre-calc
cc
guys should i do dual enrollment to get credit for what i want to major in or do dual enrollment for preparing for aps?
is it worth spending time self studying Chemistry Honors so I can take AP biology in 10th grade
y do u wanna do that?
so I can take AP biology in 10th grade
then just take it
or just do gen chem fall semester and whatever equalivant class in spring (equalivant of ap chem)
so ur pretty much guaranteed the college credit
whatās the general math path after Calc Bc
what system do u use?
intg math or alegbra
oh, after?
idk
check ur cc
alr
Is hl science and double science worth it? (Iām doing hl math, hl bio, sl chem and want to go into biomedical engineering)
not sure what hl is, but i too am going to do double science next year! iām interested in bio psychology
Hl means higher level, its part of the IB program and is more rigorous and goes in depth. I like bio too š
oh ok, we donāt have ib at my school. just ap and dual enrollment š„²
u dont need ib
colleges prob alr know that u dont have ib
yep they do, i still wish my school had the ib program though!
y
its okay lol its not even that good
oh lolll
bruh
it really depends
some schools don't have anything after AP Calculus BC
but usually i think it's Multivariable Calculus + Linear Algebra
(those are both post-AP semester math courses taken in the same year)
Might be hard, considering that theyāre all IB, but have you taken any physics classes? Other than that, if youāre ready for the workload, then yeah it could be worth it
My school does AP Stats, and if youāre in IB, HL 2
Is AP computer science priciples generally a tough class for a 9th grader? im just wondering because it is the only AP our school offers in 9th grade'
i mean calc bc isn't the direct prerequiste of ap stats
I donāt know if Iām taking enough APs
Freshman Year:
AP Comp Principals
AP Human Geo (Required)
(Only ones I was able to take)
Sophomore (Planned):
AP Calc AB
AP Gov (Required)
AP Lang
What are classes I can take to do more that are easy?
Youāre taking more than enough
youāll be fine
Ok! Thank you! I see so many on my fyp with like 5 aps freshman/Sophomore year and I got worried
Yeah I mean aps are really weird cause itās all dependent on what your school offers
But honestly colleges donāt really care too much
Is it better to take harder classes and risk your GPA to be lower or to take easier classes and maintain a high GPA? I am going to enter my junior year with a 4.48 GPA (#1 in my class and highest possible GPA). I am taking AP Physics I, Chem, Gov, and Lang along with Honors Pre-Calc, Honors Spanish IV, and Honors Choir. I am really nervous about AP Physics I. Should I keep it or drop to Honors Physics?
idk
whats ur priorities
I want to be valedictorian, but I also want college credit for physics to get out of taking a college class for physics.
wait guys, i have a friend who is doing really bad in summer school geometry rn, like she will prob end the semester with a 89. she can drop the course if she wants to but itās a waste of 700$. and thereās always a second semester. shud she drop it or just keep going?
if u want valedictorian and want college credits then find the ratio that u can handle for weighted vs non weighted and if u know u gonna get a B or C then do it at a cc
cuz if u dont do a class that isnt weighted (even tho u get an A) its gonna lower ur weighted gpa
but its gonna lower ur college gpa transcript
pls help with my issue^ u seem to know what ur doing
89 aint really bad, ig she can drop it if shes rich or something, idk
but like itās for geometry
ok?
itāll lower her gpa and i feel like everyone says to like āsaveā the bās and cās on harder courses
wait ur right iām so dumb
It isnāt LOL but thatās how my school does it if you do AP
700 bucks to take geometry is a waste next time they should do it through a cheaper program but if you spent that much you def shouldnāt drop it
I took pre IB physics if that counts
Yup it does count! Maybe one more physics class down the road, if you want
how hard is ap physics I
How difficult is IB HL Economics compared to IGCSE Economics?
In my opinion it was really hard but a few of my classmates didnāt have an issue with it
The IB program makes a lot of kids suicidal/depressed so idk.-.
