i don’t know the rigor of your electives so it depends what you want to do
just have fun
pick whichever one is more interesting
are these only ur electives
No
so u have no core classes?
funny enough up north we call pre calc "advanced functions" couldn't tell u why tho *note: l don't remember if it's only for my province
how hard is ap lit
ty
Depends on how well you are in English
Some of my seniors say it’s really easy
Others who struggle with English, analysis, essay, say it’s hard
AP lang is apparently very hard though harder
Should I take ap Chem in 10th grade
what are planning to be in the future
Idk yet
any general idea,?
Something related to business probably
oh okay
maybe ask someone who has on their thoughts
ok
but mainly id say take aps of what you are acc interested in
like if ur going health or med take ap bio
if ur doing engineering take calc and physics
stuff like that
no ones stopping you :)
@buoyant vapor I’m taking it as a junior rn. Some of my friends took it as sophomores and they got As and Bs
It’s rigorous but doable and I would suggest only if you are really interested in chemistry
So I'm currently in the 2nd semester of 9th grade and I want to take computer science and at my school you can do 2 major courses and I already chose culinary 2 so should I change that course to computer science?
I am currently in culinary 1
And the other major course I am going to be taking is management
(Basically business)
Can you take cs next year?
I think its better sticking with one type of class for a whole year
I can only take culinary 1 in 9th grade and in 10th grade I can switch from culinary 2 to intro to computer science
Oh i see i misunderstood
Yes go for it if you want to take cs next year
Tho could do it junior year and 2 yrs of culinary
Yea I just wanted to make sure that it would be okay to do so before I change it
hello
could have sworn there was an igcse channel... i was wondering if anyone knew if i can take igcse subjects together with a different english course thats not igcse?
So I'm currently doing geometry and going to do adv alg next semester. I'm planning on doing pre calc... but im not sure if I should continue with it. since I would have 3 years left of highschool after next year, and it might be difficult. Is it worth doing calc? even precalc...
also is AP human geography worth for when I become a freshman? a lot of people are thinking about taking it. but idk how hard it is
APHUG- not worth it
At all
I mean unless you want an AP credit
But as a freshman, I'd say you learn nothing
It's not hard if you can dedicate a lot of time to it
For me, I have a LOT of extracurriculars which makes it really time consuming
Go ahead, calc is great, and u then will have so much time to go deeper into it
yeah go ahead, I'm doing the same
It will be a little difficult at first
but it's fine
I heard from my friends taking it in 10th
and I think I can
I am taking ap bio and ap chem junior year
In my school in order to take those aps you need to do the honors one firsy
In my opinion that’s kind of dumb
Omg same
It’s so stupid because I just moved here, and I can get into honors, but I have to waste a year of taking the normal course
I have to decide between Pre-Calc and Sports Statistics for 12th grade next year. My math teacher recommended Pre-Calc but I talked to a teacher at a college and they said to take Sports Statistics, as it will help with programming, what I want to when I grow up
Is ap world history or honors world history better as a freshman
ur talking those as a freshman?
dang
i would go for the easier one, which I think is the ap course
My freshman year, I took ap world history. It was a little tough for me because I did a bunch of other honors. Compared to the honors, most of them struggled more than the ones taking ap world history. It isn't the teacher though because the same teacher taught both. I think taking ap is better although it is a bit tougher but as long as you keep track of your work and read ahead, it is easier.
Ok thx
yessir
Do u know what ap means? It’s a college level course
It's easy
And a good introduction to college level work
Is it rational to take AP physics and AP chemistry in the same year?
^^^ I have the same question
You guys know that Ap pre calc is a thing now
mhm
Idk how i found pre calc harder than calc
Do any of you guys know of the Stanford envision program
My friend got invited but from actually looking at it and what people have said about it it seems like a money ploy
probably is
It is a specific program
just read it's not even administered by stanford, not worth it for EC and costs a lot of money but could be interesting
The "intensive law and trial" program
She did apparently get invited tho
So idk if it's selective
idk so many people don't make it to law school or drop out so these high school programs aren't really anything special
totally not worth it lmao the cost
i just found
even with that makes me sus its that much for 7-10 days
What high achool science should i do next year? I already did bio and im in chem rn
Don’t know if this is the right place but anyone any advice on GCSE options?
If it helps and looking into College and University in the UK to eventually study Law and hopefully move to criminal Prosecution in the future
I'd say for law focus on English/English Lit., Maths and Science
that's what most universities in the UK require.
this website goes more in depth if you need it : )
advanced placement
Yeah a lot of people in my school say that too
Yeah so it would be harder than honors world history
Physics I would say
Just get all three
Rate the classes I’m taking next year (I am a senior):
AP Calc AB
AP Chem
AP US Gov
AP Marco
AP English Lit
Applied Music
Band
Can you someone tell me how dual enrollment over summer would work?
Prolly depends on courses like if it could be done online or not and you prolly have option to do it online or not. But not sure about laborative course like bio and chemistry
Thanks, I’ll look further into it
Should I take Honors Chemistry and AP Physics 1 as an A hour? (Sophomore year) I plan on becoming a surgeon
I’m already ahead in math, taking Honors Algebra 2 next year
Then Junior year I’ll take AP Bio and AP Chem
I’m striving for an AP Capstone diploma
Should you take calc BC if you’re interested in going into a stem field
And does taking economics HL help out in college
I’m planning on taking us history over summer through dual enrollment
Is that a cluster?
i have to pick my junior year classes soon; can i dm someome?
just ccurious for sophmore year (next grade currently am a freshmen) should i take honors english, ap world history, pre calc, and should i take ap chemistry or normal
colleges like if u took another language im pretty sure
Also need 2 yrs of world language
ya
Ok. You dont need to be so hostile
yep because that will be a big disadvantage if they compare u to another student and that other guy might have worse grades but may have taken another language
Also they like continuous language so not skipping and multiple languages is fine but usually not necessarily spreads you out too much
well both
ye but make sure your senior year u are taking tough classes if u take easy classes senior year their gonna think u can handle the pressure
if you havent taken AP before take one AP in whatever youre more confident/want to go into and build the year after thst: sophomore year i took two for the firdt time but theyre both very essy aps
anyone have any suggestions
ok
Toughish yeah not extremely hard tho
is ap world history and ap chem easy
Ap chem isnt
ap world depends who you are ig
they want u to have hard courses to see if u can handle the hard courses at the uni
what do u wanna be
as a sophomore taking ap chem would be kinda rough
well i heard in the school that normal chem is just as bad
Ap world is supposed to be kinda difficult but id take honors chem before ap chrm
cuz im taking bio in freshmen year rn
Well yeah but senior year shouldnt be the toughest year
my schools like that for the order too; honestly, ap chem would tailor more to your interests in premed but mind you, its considered one of the more difficult aps; if you got a good teacher you should be good
not its fine because i need some advice on it
ok i c
context?
bro 1 language
i told you
ur gonna get destroyed if u dont and colleges wont care about u
as much
r u genuinely interedted in ap world At all? Have you taken ap beforev
not really but i need the ap
wait are you not ineresred in either? Also colleges also dont wanna see you shoving ap just to take ap
that also doesnt help
you gotta do what you love as itll make the clas eadier too
Depends on college
thats why context matters
All of business is gonna be in Chinese now so honestly take a Chinese class
I’m interested in ap Chem I was talking about ap world
If youre not interested, dont bother with it, do you need world to graduate in your state/school? If you need it, then maybe consider it more strongly
Nah that’s not worth it
how many years of chinese
have you maxxed out of curriculum?
How many years of FL do you need to graduate
Foreign langauge
youre in chinese 5?
youre being unclear lol
and im trying to help
how many years have you taken it, is your school in a semester schedule?
how many high school years
im assuming youre a junior goong to be a senior then?
oh okay, some states/schools arent like that (like mine)
Okay, explain yourself coherently, i frankly know nothing of your background
if youre going into business you should probably take the business class
i wouldnt have known that as my school has business classes all year round lol
what would you get more value out of? Whats more tailored to what you wanna do? I thinj its abt quality not quantity
ye im pretty sure
gl
sophomore
AP Seminar depends on the teacher; its supposed to be easy but my teachers notorious for being a sadist, same with lang; i live in a state where apush is in two years so its easier but normally it’s considered difficult
i take everything else honors cuz thats all i can take sophomore year
oh ok
im also taking all the honors i can
currently
ye i want to do ap chem the scary thing is the teacher is hte most hated teacher of the whole school
Good luck
I have to decide between Pre-Calc and Sports Statistics for 12th grade next year. My math teacher recommended Pre-Calc but I talked to a teacher at a college and they said to take Sports Statistics, as it will help with programming, what I want to when I grow up
Wdym
Cluster can be taken for one year and build upon your knowledge ex. econ 210, econ 211, econ 212
Would AP BIO or Ap Chem be better for medicinal stuff
Oh I don’t think so. I wanna know if you can even do a yearlong course in like 2 months over summer
You could if you took all of them at the same time depending on if they have prereq
^ incoming senior
imo looks really good but you should think about taking a foreign language senior year
I got exempted from Spanish
ya girl is dual language already 💪
honestly either one; have you taken bio or chem before? Do what you like better, chem is harder tho
I see this
Both
One junior yr and one senior yr
I think that's true for ap chem in every school
the class is hard
I think it's good
my course selection for next year is due next week (i'm going into 11th grade) and can someone let me know if this seems like a solid path!
i plan on majoring in marketing once i graduate btw! :)
good....
i woulld recommend calc instead of stats
Hi, I am a sophomore is High going into Junior year next year. I love math but I am not being challenged enough in my Geometry Honors class and there is not AP Geometry and next Is Algebra II in which I cannot take over summer to try and challenge myself and grow. How should I try and grow my abilities in Math if it is not challenging enough for me.
Join clubs maybe? I also really recommend joining some school competitions if you are confident. Maybe u will get an award that u can include in ur common application
Or just do someone’s taxes
Jk, idk
@cinder gorge thanks I remember there is a math club completion that is perfect thank you
Ofc, good luck
good freeperiod, apps gonna be tough.
For marketing, stats is perfect, but some colleges require calculus so it will be easier to take AB or BC instead of stat
s
so make sure you know the requirements for your major
So i am a freshman rn and i am taking ap csp. i was wondering how hard most ap clases are compared to it, as it feels pretty easy, and i feel like i may be getting a false sense of what ap is like
I'm not sure if I should go into DE English 12 or AP Lit
Hey ppl I'm a freshman and I'm taking Chemistry, I have a couple options for my science class next year and I'm not sure if I should go into a higher level of chemistry, a higher level of Biology, or Marine Biology. Both of the higher level ones can give me college credit but Marinw Biology sounds fun and I'm suffering in chemistry:/ help?
Is biology ap hard? (& is it harder than psychology?)
ap psychology is ez
ap bio is hard
but not as hard as ap physics or chem
Heyyy! I am a freshmen who is choosing classes for 10th grade. I wanna major in pre med so what classes would you guys reccomend me to take?
I am thinking off taking English Honors, AP World History, AP Bio, AP pysch, French 3, AP Pre-Calc, Aastronomy and Sports medicine
And feedbac? Thank you!! 🙂
Honestly i feel like taking the history APs (excluding psych), seems kinda unnecessary if youre trying to major in pre med -- but if youre trying to impress colleges then id understand why, have you taken your first AP yet?
do ap pysch online
and put some other class
What bachelors should i get if i want to go to law school (@ me when answering)
no
Ur right i shouldnt do law
Do you learn anything valuable in AP psychology?
y u asking me? ask people at ur school
thats a lot of aps
well they just get the gen end requirement out of the way
Law Schools like to see a variety of majors
I am double majoring in Political Science and Psychology, but even music could look good.
Just make sure you show an interested in the topic like an honor thesis.
Participate in mock trial tho
College Mock Trial is the best way
Maybe take a dual enrollment class instead of one of em, their usually cheaper and better for credit. Depends on where you want to go though.
Or, take a class concurrently. Some schools will not accept courses which are taken at a high school or for high school credit, however, if you enroll in a college separately (like I did) then they have a higher likelihood of being accepted.
Hi fellow law nerd. Also you have any advice when it comes to law. Do you have any type of law you specialize in?
Constitutional Law!
What about you?
Also, I friended you.
Same
Noice.
I'm reading a book rn called "the case against the Supreme Court" it's written by one of the deans of constitutional law at Berkeley
I sadly haven't had much time to read it but it's about past and present failures of the Supreme Court
What was your role in mock trial
I do the pretrial motion
Do you do Mock?
I represent the people
btw
on both teams
Ya, I started last year I was a defense witness in the junior division and this year I was an alternate (actually got to one comp since one witness couldn't be there)
I prefer defense personally
What grade are you in?
9th
Junior division
The junior division was like the division middle schoolers could do
High school is the senior division
ah
Senior has the pretrial motion while junior does not
You got any tips for pretrial?
I am new to it as well. Freshman year, I made varsity as a prosecution witness, and was the state mvp and stuff. Going from that, it isn't much different in terms of talking clearly and thinking on your feat. Its just, instead of telling your story, you're having a conversation with the judge about your case and why you're right and why their wrong.
I learned a bit about how to write the speech and utilize the case law this year, but didn't do it due to others having more experience
With cases, you introduce their story, and relate it to your case.
In US vs fdhfduihfiudoi, the fbi detained the defendant, beat him, and then asked for consent. The court ruled that the FBI was allowed to do that and the consent was not a product of coercion. In the case at hand, the police officer beat the defendant less hard and had a warrant. Blah Blah
something like that
Ya utilizing the holding of the cases that have a verdict that's good for your case, and refute by differing the cases the other side used to the current one
Answering the questions, and remembering where you are is hard.
K n o w you're case packet though
I am the one thats so involved in the law im at risk of disqualification bc i'll bring up cases not in the case packet when proving my point 💀
It's a work inprogress.
If the cases don't offer what you want you could also relate it to the statutes
Eh no
Oh you can't
If they don't offer what you want, don't bring them up
We are limited to the statutes in the case packets so not always
I just learned something new thank you
NP!
Rule of thumb: You can only use your case packet and what is contained therewith, and your opponent the same.
In the last case we had the motion related to the 4th amendment and if consent was valid
If they bring up Jackson vs Dobbs, but its not in there, point of order.
My case is on the 4th amendment and the due process clause of the 14th
One of the cases I remember that was in the packet was Bumper vs North Carolina
Same with ours
California?
People vs Jordan franks?
Bro
Lmfao
The role I filled in for was Cleo Shaffer
Ya they gave the ring to cher as a gift
that fucker gave Mavis probable cause
not that part
Oo how?
They saw franks throw someone in the trashcan around the time that detective mavis saw franks there alone and there was the ring box in the can
Main thing the defense referenced was if mavis was lying when they said they could have a warrant processed at any moment. Cause they needed to go to the ministry
ye
I have thag in myargumentr too
i’m eating dinner if i don’t respond
Main thing prosecution used was that franks knew their rights and when they said yes they knew they could refuse
i noticed
lmao
i mention all of those points in my argument alone
Also franks did consent to the search of the room, not the safe, but the safe was in the room, so should the consent given to the room count towards the safe? And i don't remember if any of the cases in the packet referenced the taking back of consent
Cause they did consent to search the room "I have nothing to hide"
Should I take DE for Honors Chemistry?
that la not really relevant though
that’s
But if the consent for the room is valid wouldn't consent for the safe be valid as well
As it is in the room
How so?
Also other cases defense used was United States v. Hicks, and Castaneda v. Los Angeles
In Castaneda v. Los Angeles the defense said that Jordan franks was virtually powerless like Castaneda
I had a rebuttal to that, Franks was never in custody and since Franks knows their rights they do have a choice unlike Castaneda. Not to mention all the lies the defendant told, she clearly did have a choice and chose to send them to 31 places
it’s well established that consent for the room doesn’t regard for the safe so to me it’s not worth arguing, especially without case law.
I use hicks in my argument 💀
yes
Your the people tho
Those holdings seem better for defense
How do you use hicks
A threat to obtain a search warrant can render consent invalid
i’m not gonna disclose my secrets 💀
my main point is this actually
it’s invalid if the warrant was invalid
most of my argument is saying the warrant was valid
and that there is a difference from knocking on the door saying you have a warrant vs persistently requesting consent
meaning you don’t have the warrant
But mavis technically didn't have the warrant yet
So?
Like to me thats like a "so"
I argue that its not a product of resigned inevitability because of the reasonable factual basis for the warrant
So how could the warrant be valid if it wasn't authorized yet
Especially when mavis said it "could be obtained at any moment"
And thats what I argue, that it is.
which was not a flat out lie, it could've
It was a bending of the truth
which happens all the time
Interesting argument
Nice
Yeah, i haven't even told you everything but you already know it is interesting
I don't prepare my stuff beforehand though,,, I kinda make it up on the spot.
I know the cases and I know the question, I go up there and argue for it, and change as I see the judge and the other side
If and when I do pretrial (which I hope to do) I may dm
May I ask why? 😅
DE is just like free college chem credits
Regular chem is so easy
DE will be a challenge
and you get
credts
credits
Mavis had to have prepared the application immediately after approaching Franks in the café and getting Franks to identify the ring box. (p. 37, lines 19-21.) But Mavis took Franks to the cabin after Franks identified the ring box. (p 37, lines 28-29.) Do we think Mavis really would have sat down in the café after Franks identified the box and prepared a warrant application right then and there? Why would Mavis bother to do that? If Franks consented to a search, there would be no need. Plus, how could Mavis describe in the warrant application what she wanted to search when she hadn’t even seen the safe? Finally, Mavis would probably have to go to court to submit the application, so what would be the point of sitting down and preparing it right then and there, and delay progress on the investigation?
Thoughts?
That isn't how warrants work whoever wrote that.
Actually, my favorite quote to a judge "Uhhh... thats how warrants work your honor"
Lol mock trial coach
jesus christ 💀
"I need to search the room for this specific object" allows for the safe to be opened upon that warrant
As long as its reasonable
if you're looking for a car, no, but if you're looking for car keys, yes.
good
More from the coach- Even if Mavis had prepared an application, Mavis – according to her own fact statement – told Franks that “a search warrant was being authorized and that it was in Franks’ best interest to unlock the safe.” (p. 38, lines 4-6.) This statement was also probably false. How could Mavis have submitted an application to a judge for a search warrant at 1 a.m. while she was on board the ship and in the middle of questioning Franks, and before she had seen the safe? How could Mavis know that a judge was authorizing a search warrant at that very moment?
looks like a typical normal schedule that most people r doing
Actually, there is a thing as magistrates on duty, wouldn't be that hard lmfao.
i personality wont deal with that schedule tho
coming from a school that was horrible in academics (lenient grading system) it looks like a lot for me and my other friends
Cool
well find a way to work
i alr thought of some solutions
Imagine having a coach to write your material 💀
like?
im not telling u, go figure it out
I was left to my own devices until 7 days ago when I was told to perform it and I was like uhhhhhhh
alr sorry man
people aint gonna always be giving answers whenever u want it
They were his suggestions, don't think they ended up using them much
y e a h
didnt know it was that deep
g o o d
Lol
Our defense consistently won hers
So did our prosecution till the last round
interesting
Tho this is high school
rate my schedule
So probably just because the competition usually was not too good
what part
I am in high school as well
Oh
W
Oo
dosn't say grades/years
@wise forge what part of my schedule is not specific
^
where is sophomore year?
im a sophmore rn
o
if u want everything, he it is
well its either that or do pe at 6am in the freezing cold
Ew
Have you ever done the journalist role before. Idk if I did it right and may want to try it again
Um
n o
someone rate my scheudle
we don't even have an artist
K no worries
8/10
what can i improve on
We don't have a full team ever bc we have the best people on varsity and the bad people on JV
so we just double
I am not allowed to double though
bc pretrial is special
Nothing 💀
Having a good team of attorneys and witnesses is more important
then y the 8/10?
^
Bc thats what it is
?
You just can't improve it
I do not see a way you could anyway
If you change it, i'd go down since ur a sophomore alr
go down?
Ya, we only have 1 team so the freshmen mostly didn't get the best roles. Next year tho they may split it between grades with a 9th and 10th team and an 11th and 12th team
summer?
Nah summers are full for ya
And since I did learn about pretrial, I'm probably the most likely to do it on the 9/10 team next year
I was the first Freshman in a while last year to get two roles ( I was doubled up as Angel Russel and Dani )
Character witness
OMG I GOT A 28 AS ANGEL RUSSLE
Give me something to improve on
Our team lost due to a tie last year
I got a 10 and an 8 and since it was a tie, the judge gave me a 10, I was so good
I loved it
I talked back to the attorney in such a funny way
and I listened to their opening arguments so i know what theyre trying to extrapolate and then I don't give it to them
@wise forge
The attorney accused me of being biased
Get friends and chill
then why are you in this channel spreading negativity then
Objection argumentative
Cuz people always be doing this
then dont reply not that hard
Like "you wouldn't want your friend Jamie Cobey being convicted of murder would you"
Colleges look at local context, so you'll be fine
“i already thought of some solutions to your problem” then proceeds to say “go figure it out yourself”
Objection argumentative
And I said "I wouldn't want anyone I know to be convicted of murder
literally
They were trying to say my memory was off
also, be nice to people
Cause I didn't want to see Jaime in a bad light
that was rude I just went and looked
interesting
I could argue argumentative and get a rephrase
make it less
@broken shale Your message(s) have been flagged as spam and have been removed.
?ban @broken shale NSFW SPAM
Clankers#8932 was banned
jesus
lmao
thats
definition
argumentative
anyways, physical science or chem? gonna take ap physics so which class provides more relevance to physics
Chem is a physical science
rihgt?
The attorney was gaslighting me 🥰
Physical science is usually an easier class, so i'd go with chem
I gaslight attorneys 💀
Love that
An attorney tried impeaching me, but I was right and it was so funny and their score 📉
isnt chem the study of individual molecules and their reactions while physics is the study as the universe as a whole
So I didn't rlly have time to memorize
i dont see that much relevance
The cross went well tho
I even got to add that I saw franks near the ice cream machine
physics is a different class than physical science at my school
i meant like i have 2 science courses to choose from and im curious on which one will set me up better for ap physics
alright thanks
It was the first round so it was out of 20 and I got 16/20
Not bad for learning the role the day of
Oh
than that score is multipled by 3
yeah
It has a tone of weight on comp
I just found that out today
Tell me how you do
I will
Deny that motion
My first comp is with the BYE TEam
basically its a team from the best people from all of the schools to fill an open spot 💀
Wow
Im not the best on my team... but apparently my coach thinks im better than the rest of the pretrial attornies
Idk if it's like this for year team, but with mine Prosecution is always the fall
We have our really slay attorney on it too
Defense wins and prosecution looses the round
Hence why I like defense
Innocent until proven guilty
Your strategies seem top notch. Using hicks on your side (especially since defense will likely use hicks) is a good move
Yeah
Our coach doesn't help us with out material too which is our ultimate flexxing point
bc we won last year without a coach, she ran away to Arizona mid year
so
yeah
Cause there are only 3 cases the defense has the holding for
and I use all 3 in my full argument 💀
And you took one of them for your argument nullifying all 3
My rebuttle is made up on the spot, but I usually will flip the cases on them lmao
Im good at quick thinking
that takes too long
We start months in advance
I looked at the cases once, and understood each one of them, and can now make my argument depending on the defense
we started in august
before the case packet was even released
Wow
but since I am doing so much I don't show up that often
What did you do if the case wasn't released
I took 10 classes last semester, spent over 28 hours a week doing marching band, Key Club volunteering, Academic Decathlon, and Choir.
so
Practiced
like
the skills
Knowing objections, critical thinking
how to act
We needed to do that
public speaking
Especially to find out what roles people are good for
Our coach was new this year and didn't know us so the roles were kinda everywhere
Another reason freshmen got crappy roles
ah
My team is just student run so
We're friends with all of the Admin which is helpful for ditching class among other things
but we have
Since we won last year
we got like 10k to work with
So we're going to build a court room eventually
Wow
U can pick more than 1 major? Dont u have 1 major with the rest being minors?
Whats that
Mock trial is a program where people have roles in a courtroom scenario (ex: witnesses and attorneys) and the place your competing for (in my case this is the constitutional rights foundation) gives a case for your team to do. Their need to be opening statements, closing statements, direct exams, cross exams, and depending on the division (middle school or high school) a pretrial motion. There are also a prosecution and a defense side, the side you are affects your argument on whether or not the defendant is guilty
If you like law/ want to be a lawyer this is a great EC to have as it shows how a trial is conducted
Question: would taking Psychology GCSE be a good show for the future to move to law?
Also, what is it like to take it
The only required class for freshman would probably not be ap bio
does this look good for junior year
im gonna take pre calc over the summer then ap calc bc senior yr
I want to do AP Chem and some physics class next year. I was planning on doing just Honors Physics, but both the physics and chemistry teacher recommended I took AP Physics 1. I am also going to do AP Lang and AP Gov. Should I do Honors Physics or AP Physics 1?
does anybody know if these courses are good for gr 11 cuz I plan to become a sports physician or go into medicine so I was wondering if its all good
(ping me btw cuz i aint scrolling up)
is psychology good to take even if you’re not planning to go into that field? (grade 11 course)
I am not too knowledgeable on this, but my history teacher said not to do Psychology (Especially AP or Duel Enrollment) if you are not interested in the class.
Is AP Chemistry a good course to take?
oh.. what about philosophy
Does your school offer weight lifting?
Do you think AP econ, AP chem, and calc ab manageable in junior year
Probably a stupid question
But yeah
Taking ap world and AP CSA right now
yeah it does im taking it next semester which is just in a few days
Take it again next year to (if you can)
Hi I really need some help on my course selection for next year please. What I plan on taking is Ap bio
Ap physics 1
Ap lang / honors English 3
Honors algebra 2
Ap euro
SDC pre calculus
Ap chem
Do you think it would be a good idea to take the three ap sciences together. What are your suggestions?
My Course selection for my sophomore year (next year) is :
AP Spanish
U.S history Honors
English 2
Chemistry
Algebra 2
Currently for my freshmen year I’m taking all honors and I’ve seen how difficult it is to manage all my work so for my sophomore year I’ve toned it down a little thoughts?
you can double major
even triple major
you just need to fulfill the requirements of them
some unis have different rules though
like they can’t overlap too much
some don’t allow it altogether but most do
Should I take ap bio if I wanna be a physicist?
Yeah; Biology is a college requirement, so AP Bio can help so you don’t need to take another Biology class.
Yeah those are good, though i’m not sure what Computer Science has to do with Sports Medicine lmao.
Is recommend, start studying pre calc now, so you can go more in-depth into Calculus. It will help reduce the pain of going from a summer precalc course to BC.
I have a self study AB Book I am using while going through Honors Math 3 at my school which is essentially honors precalculus
I am not familiar with GCSE, however, I do know that Law Schools, at least the ones in America, like to see diversity and psychology will look good when applying.
I plan on going into law school, and I’ll be double majoring in Psych and Poli Sci at Uni
Looks pretty solid
no way i portrayed shafer for my school
oh good luck to you
ou
Thanks 😊
THATS SICK
It is! but they need parents to do it bc students can’t for some reason so
I would want to take a weekend as a team bonding exercise to do some woodwork lnfao
i understand their concern but that sucks :/
we’re mock trial tho, we know how waivers work lmao
We got to build stuff for band with a waiver just saying
Also, fun fact, the demolished our old court room.
It was a portable and they removed all of the portables sooo
no more court room
Do you think AP Physics 1 is worth doing if you do not have a lot of knowledge about physics?
should I do apush next year if I’m also doing ap calc bc and ap bio?
just took it cuz I had nothing else to add
ik thinking abt taking AP Chem in place of any level physics. Especially since I want to go to med school abroad. Should I just take physics at a community college or not even bother?
In junior year (I’m presuming you’re talking about junior year because you’re taking APUSH), most people take 4-5 APs so if you think you can manage the rigor I say go for it!
Is APUSH really worth it like what if I’m taking ap Chem instead of it bc I wanna go into a stem career?
it’s actually my sophomore year
at my school we do ap world Junior year
I had to basically learn the role the day of due to being an alternate. Didn't get impeached and actually got decent scores 💪
that’s nice!
ty for the advice tho!
It’s considered an easy course - so if you want an easy AP take it. But again like I said- it’s up to what you want, what you can handle and what you’re aiming for
Do you think it is worth taking AP Physics 1 if I have not taken a physics class before? I was thinking about taking Honors Physics, but they recommended me to do AP Physics 1 instead. I am also taking AP Chemistry along with Honors Physics Or AP Physics 1.
Is it worth it to take geometry over the summer
i don't think apush wold be considered easy
yup
econ's not too hard
neither is ab
so u should be good
Perspective again. Most people I’ve spoken to have said APUSH is probably one of the easiest AP history classes
Might be ur high school
because apush is actually one of the hardest(considering the actual exam, the pass rates, and the surveys)
world would be the easiest
hello
does anyone here know anything about AP psychology and/or taking psychology as a major in college
I’m currently deciding between applying for business management or software development, I think both are great but I’m don’t know which one should I consider
Psychology is a really good major in college
The professions in psychology and it’s commonality has been growing greatly
I’d also recommend anyone interested in psychology to research about psychiatry
Often two mixed up professions
It’s best you have an idea of what you’re interested in with regards to psych
Take AP psych either way
Because it’s good to explore the subject
Should I take World Geography over the summer to get an extra elective, or is it better to take it during school?
Going to be a Freshmen next year, so
i want to be a forensic psychologist
Is there anyone who’s taken differential equations or linear algebra
I'm done shortlisting my uni's to apply for bachelors/undergraduate can anyone give me feedback on it ?
Then see if your school offers any forensic courses as well
It’ll help
And definitely take AP psychology
is computer science A worth it?
I am a rising Valedictorian, and I want to keep it that way. Do you think this schedule is good for someone that wants to be a Pharmacist?
JUNIOR YEAR:
AP Lang
AP Chem
AP Physics 1
Honors Pre-Calc
AP Gov
Spanish IV
Choir
SENIOR YEAR:
AP Lit (Thinking about changing it to Duel Enrollment English)
AP Bio
AP Calc BC
AP US History
Dual Enrollment Psychology
Financial Literacy
Choir
should I take AP bio or AP chem in sophomore year? I plan on taking AP calc AB/BC, AP world history and maybe AP human geo, is it manageable?
Advantages/disadvantages with the IB program?
its good- but man; your senior yesr is going to be terrible. Def consider Dual Enrollment English over lit
You want to kind of have a hard hard hard easy pathway to school meaning your rigor tapers down by your senior year
Take AP Human Geography duriing the school year if your school offers it
It does
But my counselor kept saying you do not want to take this class, and literally forced me to not pick it
But I can change it now because I still have 10 days to change it and I’m at home and she can’t force me to change it
Like my counselor isn’t my parent so like I’m just mad that she didn’t let me take AP human geography
The main reason why she did not let me choose. It is because she said it is a very hard class.
no it isn't
ap is easy
ap hug
it's literally the easiest ap class
I'm doing AP chem soph so u should do that too
That's cool ur doing calc sophomore year
and honestly I see no point in taking HUG
do ap world
but u don't need to do hug
its useless
and very low level
unless of course u want sommething to do with that field
Ok thank you
Guys how’s this for a Junior Schedule:
AP Amer Gov
AP Macroeconomics
Law
Math 4 Honors
Math 5 Honors
AP Statistics
English 3
Advanced Biology
Astronomy & Space Science
And Lifes Issues
that's a lot of courses
but sure
Its usually the amount u have at my school
Guys I have a question
Do you think I can do 4 aps in junior year and 5 college classes(de)
Is it possible
if your school allowed that, you could, but that sounds like a lot of pressure on you
Dobby wouldn’t want your mental health to get worse because of all the stress
but you should do whatever you think is best for you. and remember that your well-being always comes first
I want to become a Surgeon and learn about the human body as my career. I am about to start High School and I am wondering if I made the right 4-year plan for High school. Is this path good?
9th grade:
• English I KAP (KAP is another name for Katy-Advaced Placement. It works like Acadmic ELA, expect, it shows you are taking harder English but not AP English)
• Geometry GT (Gifted and Talented)
• Biology KAP
• AP Human Geography
• Art 1
• Principles of Health Science A
• Japanese A
10th grade
• English 2 KAP
• Algerbra 2 GT
• Chemistry KAP
• AP Human History
• Japanese 2A/2B
• Off-Campus PE
• Health Theory
11th grade
•AP English
• Pre-calculus GT
• AP Physics
• AP US History
• Debate
• Medical Terminology
• (Undecided, I need some suggestions on some people)
12th grade
• AP English Literature
• AP Calculas
• AP Biology
• Anatomy and Physiology
• AP US Government/Marco-Economics (I might switch this class with something else. Because I don’t know if this would be a easy class)
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) A/B
• (Undecided, I need suggestions from people)
If there is any thing that might be helpful to me, I would take advice and reflect on it. Also, you guys can also share some ideas on what is a good choice of class for my undecided ones. I just hope this four-year plan is going to help me become a Surgeon 😎
If i were u, i wouldnt do this
I would never do this lol
Huh?
It doesn’t really scream surgeon so maybe take courses over the summer to remedy that
I have no clue what the other person is saying
Lol, same
Ah,
What do you propose?
Because there are two things that are really cool that might scream suergob
- This summer I will go to this Medical Center in Boston to do like intensive work in a hospital and guide us to surgery’s and etc. At the end, they give us like one AP college credit along with a regoniztion that I am approaching the medical field
It’s probably harder to do 4 ap classes you should probably focus more on extracurriculars/ balance the both
- At Senior year, I am going a side school that teaches me how to prepare for the Medical field and hospitals, and etc.
Start a medical club at your school, or take Latin or something
Ah, alright
Wait, wdym by take Latin or something?
I am already taking a LOTE, “Japanese”
yeah but Japanese has like no application to medicine
Lol, OK, I see what you mean now
I mean you can still do Japanese if it’s something you really want
But like add a science class in your junior year
My interest of learning Japanese is never going to leave me 😂
Yep, very true
I have heard
And like a billion ways to say hi or bye or thanks or sorry
Katakana, Kanji, Hiragana
yeeeep
Lol, agreeable
I can read parts of it and I know how to say all levels of sorry and thanks
And that’s allll I know lmao
That is why I am debating on taking it or not
I mean do it if you want
Lol
Yeah, but it might be hard to learn, however, I have a head start because I already started and I know a couple of words and a few letters, but I mean, the class is online, no teacher would guide me to it, only one of my friend is taking it, and it doesn’t help out my Medical chances a bit
But, I really have a interest in it, and I want to go to Japan one day and just, idk,
They speak 3 language and it makes no sense
oof. toxic
This is good
I would do AP bio rather than physics for medical
And I like that u are passionate about a language
I like that u have many medical courses as well
Yes this is a good schedule regardless what some toxic people say
I would just suggest to do extracurriculars as well along with this schedule, summer programs, etc.
Internships r really good
???
Im just saying that i wont do that, whats toxic about it?
Lol
Dw, Duck
You can do bio instead of Physics?!
Oh, hell yeah, I got three internships ahead of me
One this summer, one in 11th grade and one in 12th
What extracurriculares do you prefer
Is AP calc BC worth it in the long run
No I recommend that for u
since u want medical
that's good
HOSA is a good one
Y not?
hopefully cus ima do it next year
I know my friend got a 4 on it so she gets only Calc 1 credit… funny part is that she also took calc 3 and differential equations… so they might not give her those 2 credits bc of her ap test 💀
going to John’s Hopskins in early decision
so she’s missing out on 9 units bc of a 4 💀
In 12th grade?
Like, calc in high school?
If that is what your talking about, I recommend it, your going to be set for college and the colleges will be impressed
Hey, I have a question. Should I take a Social Studies class in 12th grade? This is my schedule btw,
am i gonna kill myself if i take AP Bio, AP Physics, and AP Literature next year? Porbably gonna take CP for the rest of my subjects except for language and electives?
It really depends on how you manage and balance your studies. Also if you're used to dealing with finishing complicated stuff or if you're willing to make changes to your daily routine to ensure you get the grades you aimed for.
alr ty, its gonna be a hard jump from what im used to but i'll figure it out ❤️
Some people will give you mixed or opposite sides of different opinions. But at the end of the day, only you can answer your question. I wish you good luck! For sure...nothing is impossible! Stay slay 💫💜
fr slaying is key
i clearly have the grades to get into it cus not many juniors in my school can take APs
If you have time, can you help me out with my question,
Good luck! Heads high up and work diligently 💜
Of course! Let me read it first. I'm gonna backread 💜
Oh, Thxs
tyty
I'm gonna dm u 💜
In 11th and 12th yeah
I’m debating on whether or not I should do HL math for IB
And for that you need to take the calc bc program which also gives a concordant score for calc ab
I would love to take ap physics C next year but my county says its “too intense” and doesnt let any schools here offer it. So now instead my school is going to have just mechanics for the whole year and is making us self study e&m? This is complete shenanigans dude
I’m doing worse man you can survive, it just eats away at you
I did it because I knew i could, but i never considered how it would affect me
You can get it all done but at what cost
I’d say the concern is not can you do it or not, it’s should you
We can all do it
But only some of us are crazy enough to actually attempt it
😭
Y u doing ap bio and physics
idk i prob won’t ngl
i’m prob gonna take physics in senior year
i’m crazy but not completely idiotic
This is what i’m taking as a freshman: AAC Chem, AAC english 1, AP human, AAC Geometry, AAC Algebra 2, Theyare production, AAC spanish 3
is that okay?
i’ve already taken spanish 1 and 2 and i also have taken bio alr
Hi! I need some help on choosing courses. I'm currently taking regular Chemistry and planning on taking AP Physics(for sophmore year) . Do you think I'll be ok taking that class without taking regular physics? Also, which AP Physics class should I start out with? If you can help me, I would appreciate it so much.
okay so at my school you need to take italian four in order to be able to take ap italian and i want to take italian four at a community college so i get the credit then do ap italian (does that make sense? ill do it over the summer before senior year then do ap) however like my community college has elementary italian i and ii and intermediate italian i and ii so im wondering if intermediate italian ii is basically italian four
Hi! I’m a sophomore, going to be a junior. I think ur pretty advanced! My school has chem for juniors and physics for sophomores, but I took physics as a freshman. AP Physics is a junior class for me, which I’m taking next year. I know it’s an extremely note and math heavy rigorous class, but if you’re good with math and equations, you should be fine without having taken normal physics first. However, I don’t think I can help on which AP physics class to take since my school only has one. Hopefully this helped a little though!
Hello! Thank you so much for your help. Your response is very helpful to me. Thanks for taking the time to write all of this for me! 🙂 🙏
I am currently taking AP Calculus BC this year, so would Physics 1 or Physics C be a better option? If anyone has taken these classes , please let me know! Thanks everyone! 😃
Physics C
physics 1 is kinda useless if you can take physics c right away imo
but maybe like learn a lol physics
*lil
Thank you so much for your reply! 🙂 Another question, is it possible to self-study for AP Chemistry (I'm currently taking regular Chemistry)?
honestly, they are pretty similar
you can self study it, it’ll just go more in depth so yeah
Any advice about applying to an early college high school, you leave with an associates degree and a high school diploma
I want to apply but im on the fence about it
not recommended
depends on ur future plans
Should I take physics chemistry and maths?
what math
Hello everyone my school provides AP human geo in 9th grade. I’m a rising 9th grader and was wondering if that class is a good class to take, and if so what should I expect from it
Make sure you take good notes and review vocab
Tbh it’s like any other honors class
And make sure you kinda associate vocab words with examples
@topaz whale
I am in the same ordeal, however, I recommend it as you only have one AP class and it would prep you to worst to come
You just need to embrace your hand with a lotttttttttttttt of writing and taking a lot of notes
The only hw you will be getting in that class is either write some notes or review it
Nothing crazy, it is just a time consuming class that isn't really hard
I am zoned at Katy ISD so maybe different schools does it differently
I took physics, life science and geo. What would u recommend me on how i study?
Yes if you want to do engineering or something related to them
Really depends on what you want to do in the future. I'm personally taking both
I strongly recommend human geography. I learned how humans change the environment around them, population trends and other issues, looking at the world from a leas negative but more factual perspective, climate change, and pop culture
Are some things I learned about in the grade 12 human geography course at my school
Idk what your AP human geo consists of but you can expect some of these
I analyzed and compared population graphs and trends between countries as well as looking into issues and policies
It all depends on whether your teacher was good or not. My human geography teacher is really good and classmates are super fun, sad to leave that class next semester.
Human geography is not hard but you really have to put in the effort lol
Very true!
Yeah, the only thing you would learn is how the geography changed by humans, migration, very small portion of politics and other stuff
@warped jewel is correct, all of those stuff is on Human Geography
more or less yes
I strongly recommend if your teacher for it is great
AP world history is better
in my opinion
You can only do that in 10th grade my dear sire
But AP World History
You really need to do that
no
Im in 9th
I'm doing ap world
Yeah world history is really important
Very!
Yep!
IL
We could choose between world history and hug
our class is half sophomores andd half freshmen
Oh,
i recommend doing it straight up because hug is a really fake ap in my opinion
But TX I think has it in 10tj grade
I don't think that's how it works
schools
do it differently
states don't decide what grades can take what aps
school district usually do
so it might be ur school district
Wait, so if you are doing World in 9th grade what are you taking in 10th?
euro
Because there is only one optio-
that's the whole point of doing that
Euro?!
Euro is what again?
Ap european history
Just making sure I didn’t mix it up with European something,
OK, my school definitely doesn’t do that I think
Lemme check the course selection
Um, sire
There is only World Geography and AP Human Geography
There is only two AP classes to choose, Computer Science and Human Geography
How much APs do you have in Freshman
My school we couldn’t take AP’s
Freshman
🤕
Schools are so different each district
I'm taking AP Chem as a Sophemore in High school. Any thoughts?
Also valedictorians what classes did y'all take?
At this point there sound be a 20 colleges in each district bro!
I wanna become one, and I will be asking the same question, can you answer the thought to both of us?
You have AP Chem?!?!
Luckyyyy, but yes
It is a good choice to do so,
Thanks
You know whats a good High School GPA to end with?
A neurosurgeon
Thats the dream
YOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Yea my friends said the same thing so just checking
I hope I have fun
Your in 8th?
Yep, but too smart for it. . .
lol
I take 10th grade math
Which one?
And I do Advanced Science. . .
I did the same thing
Geometry GT (Gifted and Talented)
Does it add to the GPA?
. . . Are you zoned in Katy ISD?!
Yes
What's your GPA
4.35ish
I just ask my counselor
