#course-selection
1 messages · Page 15 of 1
videos are amazing
and like drawing things out and kinda relating them to everyday things
yeah drawing things out
honestly
gohar made a lot of the videos
and those are the strategies I use
most of them are, "How to ace your next test"
i just rlly want a break rn lol
frr
I wanna take physics c the following year
what does Sx mean?
i think it might mean that it can be chosen
so if they wanted micro or macro on whichever semster
hm
MCPS?
Has anyone ever taken ap research here?
hello!
how do you guys take coursework at college or university? I mean is it like a summer program or what?
From me it’s over the summer or the college might offer classes at schools in your district(usually after school)
Also I’m a freshman so I know nothing
Is it good if i have 5 science classes instead of 4?
if you want to go into stem, ye
What about medical?
Yeah cause that’s stem
Would this be a good course selection for 9th grade?
Math: Geometry
Science: Biology
History: AP Human Geography
English: Honors Literary Analysis & Composition 1
Elective 1: AP Psychology
Elective 2: ASL
you only get 2 electives?
Yeah since in all we only got 7 periods, and 1 of those periods is homeroom.
Wdym
like honors
Oh no the only thing that's honors is English
there is no honors bio sadly
ohh
overall does it sound like a good course selection though?
@cinder gorge
These are the classes I think I'm gonna take
what kinda career u wanna pursue, like IT or medicine or what
those r good
Well, I'm thinking I want to become a professor and teach either philosophy, psychology, or theology. Or I want to start a business. I'm not quite sure exactly what yet to be honest.
hmm, those are good choices, i mean physics tends to be popular if u were thinking of IT industry
Well, I've only taken physics so far so I'm not sure if I like chem or bio yet.
are u allowed only 1 science?
1 science per year
but there are 3 required sciences for hs
well theres 2 things to consider, either u wanna stick with 1 science throughout and get ur foundations set so u can tackle the difficult content in the future, coz grade 11 science is where it becomes "fun"
or u can explore the sciences and see which one u like but i think u'll need to know fundamentals for tackling tricky stuff so its in ur hands
Well, like I said we have required sciences. Lets say I went into psychology, I wouldn't need to know all the sciences, right? But it's required to take bio, chem, and another course of physics even if it has nothing to do with your career.
oh ic,
in that case ur course selection is solid
ok good
although, i would say for math, pre-cal would help
I wanna go from hon precalc to bc n a bunch of teachers been warning students n sbit
Any tips for studying? I wanna start now
Organic chemistry tutor on YouTube covers all the content
I watch his videos
can someone tell me if its manageable taking ap euro, bio, chem, macro, and comp sci A in 10th grade?
Hon precalc to bc is fine
there's no need to excessivley study
that seems manageable, except I would remove one of the two chem, or bio
and take the other next year
also
it would matter what u took last year
Idk why my school was tryna make it seem so scary
cuz they do that at our school
it's a normal progression
and the people are fine
Like they was like “only mag kids go from precalc to calc bc and they are in a precalc course thats more ahead, and some of them still dropout if it”
nope...
youre good
if you still feel
trouble tho
I would just preview and learn some ap calc bc from khan academy
during the summer
That’s what ima do prolly
Cuz I got alotta APs next year so it’s jus gonna make it easier
is this junior year?
Yea
yea you should be fine. i would go to khan academy and review the material there
That’s what I did and it’s really not that bad. Not that either course is easy but it’s not the end of the world
Bro is the only reason I haven’t dropped out
Are these good course requests for sophomore year?
Context:
I am in my school’s humanities magnet program looking to take magnet math classes that my school offers. I want to enter a career in healthcare administration, management, and financing.
Am currently taking Honors Spanish 4 but have completely lost all motivation to continue with a language I am getting bored of.
*journalism/writing news/tv studio production are some of my required classes

I'm planning to take 4-5 AP's my Junior year and only 1 AP my sophomore year. So will it is a good idea to take AP US History in my sophomore year and World history in my Junior? This way I'm thinking it will reduce the load my Sophmore year. I'm currently taking APHG as a freshman.
"reduce the load in my Junior year" is what i meant to say
Can u take more aps in sophomore?
Tbh… i don’t think switching the history classes wont do much
Whats aphg
Try adding more classes ur sophomore yr, cuz u have plenty of time to do that
And ecs
do the opposite APUSH hard af
We are only allowed to have Either any AP history or AP comp sci a our sophomore year
Thats the reason
Wdym by only? There’s always a way around something
naw 1 AP is enough. If he can handle more he can go ahead
honestly do the CSA
credit wise it’s better
I hate comp sci princiuples, is csa better?
Whats so u think is harder, ap chem/lang/apush?
principles is a “theory class” while CSA is j java
chem
Chem vs. physics
Whats easier
depending on the person u can search the course material on the internet
since I'm planning to take one or maybe two aps my sophomore and 5 my junior, wouldn't it be better to get apush out of the way during sophomore for less stress?
Yes
honestly ur choice, but all AP social studies r so damn boring.
Any tips before taking ap chem? Or apush?
But id push off APush ngl
what do you do with JAVA?
study idk what to tell u
code
For what? games, apps, websites?
Projects then coding questions
hmm
school to school is diff prob
They are. But they also land you in good colleges
Only reason I'm taking those classes
What about ap psyc?
Should i take ap chem or ap pysc junior yr?
I heard AP psych is one of the easiest
Same
Surprisingly I usually end class with about 30 minutes of downtime
It would be less stress but it also might be better to do AP World History first because then apush won’t be as overwhelming
It is
The only hard unit is the neuroscience one
Everything else is a breeze
Hey Parker Kuo are the essays in AP US History really difficult
They are pretty difficult
They require a really complex understanding of the material
Especially the apush ones cause there’s no many details it makes my brain want to explode
So if someone jumps right into apush it might actually be more stressful because it’ll be their first exposure to all those essays and skills based multiple choice questions and it’ll be incredibly overwhelming
Like what would happen if I take AP Human Geo then AP US History
But AP World is generally easier because it’s more general concepts than minute details
That’s a big jump, I suggest AP World history first
That’s an easier and more natural progression
AP Euro works too
Yeah but that’s the only AP Course before AP US History
So your school only offers ap human Geo and apush?
Yeah
Although I have to say the school offers normal World History
Yeah…don’t waste your time with that
Ok
Is this a good course selection for high school?
Context: The requirements are 4 years of English, 4 years of PE, 3 years of History, 3 years of math, 3 years of science, 1 year of language, 1 year of the Arts (Visual art, music, theater, etc) and 1 semester of financial literacy. I am also planning on being a STEM major in college.
It depends on the colleges you're aiming for
I'm aiming for University of Michigan, Carnegie Mellon, John Hopkins, and my dream school is MIT
did u have to take spanish 1,2,3,4?
if i were u, i would choose to do an elective for 4 yrs
ie, music
and comp sci in the other electice
and i would recommend to take any STEM classes in the summer and/or online
I'm fluent in Spanish so I'm not required to take those
try to make the best of all the time u have in hs
Alright thanks👍
and also
just cuz something is the requirement, doesnt mean that u have to only do those things
like for me, im doing 5yrs of science instead of 4
Yeah, for my stem courses I'm taking all 4 years
this is what im doing next yr:
- Summer:
- Volunteer at hospital
- Volunteer at library
- DE
- Flute competitions
- Research/internships
- Junior yr:
- band 0 and maybe CNA (spring semester) or AIME internships
- AP chem or AP psychology
- Ap us
- Wind symphony
- Spanish 3
- AP music theory
- Ap lang
- Math (online?)
- Anatomy (online?)
try to do more
There are only 4 years in high school though, how could I take more?
theres always a way around it
- Summer:
- Volunteer at hospital
- Precalculus
- Special admit (Any AP test that I didn’t get a 3/5 or above in)
- DE counselor 104
- DE
- Research/internships
- AIME internships
- Senior yr:
- Band 0
- Calculus AB
- Wind symphony
- AP lit
- Spanish 4 (online?)
- AP gov/Econ (online)
- IB bio
- 2 special admit classes
- CMA
- AIME internships
and is the classes u have include a 0 period?
My school doesnt offer 0 period
what about programs outside of school?
ie, special admit, dual enrollment, etc
Dual enrollment is offered
take it
The only issue is it's only offered for medical students, and I'm not interested in a med career
So I'm sticking with AP classes
But I'll be on the look out for summer classes
only med?
what about special admit
internship?
I haven't looked much into internships, I could most definitely do that though
Not sure about special admit
YES, u have a lot of time to do that in 9th and 10th grade
i would recommend taking those during ur junior/senior summer cuz just incause u dont pass the ap tests
so u can still get college credit
Oh ok, I'll ask
ask ur councler if theres any opportunities in ur intrests
ngl... my councler is kinda annoyed cuz i ask a lot of questions lol
but like.. i want yale/UCLA so yeah
Oh lol, the counselor should be happy you are asking questions
also, do something that shows ur devoted about somehting ie, music for all 4 years, a certain program for a long time, etc
I'm planning on being on the math, science, and computer programming teams. So those are options
teams as in clubs?
Yes, and I'm planning on creating my own club as well
which one?
An engineering club, still dont know the details yet but I think it's a good idea
im thinking about creating a non-profit organization lol
gotta ask my councler about that
also
ask if theres any classes offered online
like pe classes or whatever
or summer
I know theres online financial literacy and online latin, and I may do both, so those are options
if u got any more questions, lmk
Alright, thanks for the tips
anytime
I think you're doing good
I think instead of human anatomy and physiology u could do AP Physics C
I think that is more important for STEM
that's cool
I'm also in math and science teams. We don't hve a competitive computer science thing. I might want to create that.
I have a junior friend who did that and is doing pretty good
just know
it doesn't have to be competitie
What is special admit and AIME internships?
you don't necessarily have to do more schooling. Gohar never did this. Most people should spend the extraa time in extracurriculars
- taking college courses in hs, like the actural college class, not ap or ib
- its an internship program our district offers
Yeah, below I have a section for alternative electives and that's there. The reason why is because if the teacher is good (i dont know them yet) I'll probably switch it out and take it
Oh ok
good
thats a good selection
yep
ap art is a win for covering elective credits
Would u guys recommend AP economics or ap psychology
Whats better for life in general
More useful life knowledge
Idk cause I haven’t taken AP Econ but AP Psych isn’t that useful for real life.
How does this look as a schedule?
Yooo hi fellow Choir kid!!!
Greetings!
hows it going so far?
nice
Rate my schedule going into sophomore year
Algebra 2 honors
English 10 honors
Chemistry honors
Physics honors
Spanish 4 Honors
Ap us history
Decent
really good
yo
ur allowed to double up on science luckyyyyyy
Is this a good schedule for senior year:
AP Comp Sci A
AP Gov (Econ over the summer)
AP Physics C
AP Stats
History of Film
Literature and Modern Media (screw AP Lit)
That’s a lot of APs I got to say
They’re all joke APs though
good, but could u take multivar calc instead of stats
should i take ap chemistry junior year instead of ap bio senior year so i dont have 5 ap classes senior year even though i like biology way more
Chem isn’t typically recommended to take and if you like biology now then j do bio but if you rlly want to squeeze another AP in senior yr then it’s up to you
Have you had a calc class yet
Yes I'm in BC right now
Shouldn’t be too bad
U got this
Seriously considering that
I’ll probably take stats regardless but multivar Calc too
Mulivarible calc at my school is 1 semester but it’s prerequisite is calc bc. Do you think you would still do well in multivariable calc if your only previous calc experience was calc bc?
yeah
Yeah
Yeah multi is supposed to be taken after bc, there’s no other calc in between
What is multi variable calc
I have never heard of it
extends calc to 3 dimentions, so instead of dealing with x and y, you now have x, y, and z
and sometimes 4 dimentions with functions of three variables f(x, y, z)
just what it sounds like
it's also sometimes called calc 3
Does differential equations use calc?
yeah, pretty heavily
yeah
differential equations are a part of calc
You take it after multivariable calc at my school
Oh okay
essentially what it does is deal with equations like f'(x) = x, then what is f(x)?
But like it’s online
I'm only going to reach calc 3
I am scared of calculus
so idk mucch aaout it
It is boring
It seems like a red flag
And hard
In that case it would be solved by just taking an integral, but it gets more complicated.
is it through your school
It’s through dual enrollment
happens once you pass bc. I'm doing a math class online rn and I know a lot of ppl who are
yeah because dual enrollment classes are often
online
like ours
after we finish bc
we have this course called calc 3 + linear algebra
it's half online
and hlf in person
it's still from our high school
it
its just flexible
calc is not boring
its really not that big a deal. It seems scary with all the symbols but the concepts actually arent that difficult once you get it, and you could honestly teach calculus to someone in algebra 1. The hardest part about calc is manipulating equations, not the actual calculus
I tried learning basic calc yesterday
and it's fun
I just watched organic chemistry tutor's two videos
one on intro to calc
and basic derivatives
I find it boring
I find no enjoyment
diffys dont need multi - sometimess, but usually no
have you done it?
Yeah a little
but it usually comes after it
often taken after but you can take it concurrently or prior to
basic calc is fun but ull take back ur words after u progress
Like a lesson or two
idk man what gets hard about calc
talking about calc 2 and 3
linear algebra and stuff
the integral stuff is annoying but its not the concept of an integral its the algebraic manipulation
what lesson
linear algebra is so weird
lin alg aint calc tho
Is linear algebra hard
depends
technically is
yep
not even close
It sounds fun so far
and I've heard good things about it
but if u put some effort into it its not too bad
We have it take it after calc bc to take multivariable calc
it's hard
like very very different 😂
oh well they taught us in calc
so it can't be that diffiuclt
r u talking about basic calc?
calc is about changes, linear algebra is about linear transformations and spaces
like linear transformations
i dunno we learnt linear transformations in calc
thats true
Also I am mainly a biology and chemistry person
then your school musta done something different, but it aint calc
yeah it's often part of a calc course
ye
if you look at calc bc its not on there
i dont do math at my school, i do it at a university
naw i dunno whatchu talkin about
so idk what they're doing
they do one semster calc III and one sesmetser linear algebra
somewhat like that
no because calc III is really one semester
so they usually throw that in second sem
or we're learning it in calc 2
in college
because in high school
there's BC
and BC doesn't cover it
yea
Yeah a second semester wouldn’t be calc3 anymore
im in high school tho
ye bc im taking math at a university
not exactly dual enrollment
oh ok
Yeah you sure you didn’t take a lin alg class?
its like a program that starts from 6th grade here
but what lesson did u do in calc
and u can skip math at school
you probably didn't know algebra ii completely
and go do it at the state university
that sounds like dual enrollment
but yeah that's cool
I'd prefer that over AP
well not really, since it starts from middle school
thats why im self studying calc BC
Derivative as slope curve
You take uni classes at middle school?
yea
Like what?
In a full year?
yeah
Or a semester
full year
How
its this program thingy here
Weird uni lol
nah its a big one
Are you a child prodigy
so rr u a freshman
no theres a buncha people who do it
ye
Oh ok
just because someone takes calc in 8th grad doesn't make them a child prodigy
its sorta selective tho ig
it's definitely smart
yeah theres people a lot smarter than me
but yeah
u didn't actually learn anything
like the power rule
They kind of are
no
they are smart
a child prodigy would be some 8th grader who solved something big
I wish I was
or is like a graandmaster in chess
I am in Geometry as a freshman
you can be
that's fine
geometry is a sophomore course
taking it as a freshman is fine
that doens't make you less smart
I wish I could take Algebra 2
Or Trigonometry
In a lot of asia that’s just a little advanced, not anything crazy
algebra 2 and trig are one course
No they aren’t ?
they are
trig is the second semster of honors algebra 2
Not in my school
Not in my school
maybe ur thinking of regular alg 2
did u talk to the people who take alg 2 and know that
because it might not say on the course guide
but the course usually does
that's like a general us thing
US*
Yeah
well...oof
for most american high schools alg 2 honors has trig
included in it
Oh
yea
Lol where do you get your info
From one of my friends
Most private schools yea not public
no...public
Naw you’re right idk what babjis and thing are on
it's pretty common because trig is not as big to have a complete course
so they stuff it with trig
alg2*
Often in precalc too
trig for me is in geo
Different trig
because even in khan academy
ah
Triangle trig, not algebraic trig
they have an entire trig unit
True
for algebra II
ic
with the functions
and everything
and for us
next semesster
in algebra iI
we have trig
I just don’t think it’s a national standard or anything
Just as common to see in precalc
Or sometimes on its own as a sem course
it's not a national standard
but it just happens to be common
in many public high schools
Algebra II is frequently combined with trigonometry in the third year of high school math. It covers linear equations, functions, exponential and logarithmic expressions, and other things.
Anyway I wish I was good at math
Even the washington post
says that
I got the top thing from the washington post
its often done so
some schoolss might not do it
but yeah Algebra II is the most common
So if they offer Trigonometry can I jump from Algebra 2 to AP Calc AB
no
u would have to take praclc
precalc
I am going to do that
You wouldn’t have to
Precalc is kinda just review
How do I become good at math
Understand the basics
practice problems
Yeah
^^^^
That’s literally it
On
Not practice
Practice works for memorizing and speed not understanding
and I've heard
Then I won’t take it
that it's actually important
for the work
you do in calc
and in calc the work is worth 7 points
but the answer is worth 1
something like that
Yeah for sure
so I would recommend still doing precalc becuse it helps
I don’t want to though
but what about a math course for that year
I am going to take Elements of Statistics
Most people that aren’t good at math got there because at some point they got lost and after that it was just memorizing equations and formulas. You gotta figure out where you don’t understand and where you’re just plugging and chugging and fix that. If you don’t you won’t be able to keep going further
ok
yeah
especially iif u give up calc
u can't really get better at calc
math*
Ofc you can what lol
My major isn’t math orientated
what is it
BS, MD
Yea def take stats
Not a major but if you’re planning med stats is waay more useful
yeah stats would be more useful for you
Yeah calc seems useless
but just beware
But I also want to get into a good college
a college
will prbablyy
make you take calc
for a med major
along with physics

thhats what happend with my bio teacher
she wanted to majr in biology
but then
they made her take physics for it
Yeah there’s probably a calc class you’ll need as a prereq for some bio or chem class, or at least a general requirement
because it was required for science major
yeah
so I would recommend at least precalc in high school
That’s dumb calc is useless for MD’s
yeah, but it's still usually a requuirement for the major
It should be dropped
Tbh
@austere tulip
I want to get into a good college as well
And my school offers 6 AP Classes
And I am taking at least 4
yeah that sounds decent
Is that good enough
what about dual enrollment
yeah take those
They don’t offer
Ye take some biomed or biochem class thru dual enrollment
I have honors science and English
then try taking individually through a college
like ImmX
ok...good
I don’t like dual enrollment
I don’t want to take it
no, not dual enollment
just straight up
college classes
to do with your major
I don’t want that
Which is harder AP lang or dual enrollment english?
Dual enrollment english
Really?
Yeah
Have you taken it before?
No
Lol why not
I just don’t
It depends on the college
There’s not “your college”
yeah so try to take it indivudally
you probably have never tried
You can take stuff online at some pretty good places
I know some people who take APs online. How do you do that?
i don't think you need to do thaat
imo
aps online
is a waste of time
Dude I just checked
take dual enrollment instead
Thanks
take dual enrollment instead of line aps
unless ur school offers the aps taking aps elsewhere is pretty useless
Thing
Yeah a lot of places don’t. Whatever state you live in should have a state uni that either offers it or has a continuing education department which you could use to take classes. Definitely possible and if it’s a state school moderately rigorous - morso than your high school for sure
there's many colleges
not only your community one
try the state one
district one
etc.
How about if I don’t take it
Just APs and Honors
I don’t want to go through a lot just to do dual enrollment
it's fine
even 1-2 courses
but if you don't
its fine
not many sanctins
I'm just saying it would look good
it would show that you are taking initiatie
Depends what schools you’re looking at what your extracurriculars are. If you’re looking at top ranked schools your rigor is probably pretty avg if it’s just AP/honors, other stuff on your app would stand out
iniativative for your education
Could I make that up with extracurriculars
Yes
but that's the thing
you've told me
that this year
you didn't do any
I am learning business
Does that count
As an extracurricular
Thingamabobber
No
it does...
but aagain
nothing unless u really achieve anything
If you do something with it, yes, if you don’t, you can’t just say “learning business”
Like
Start a business
What could I do with that
I can’t
Use whatever you’re learning about business to get a job in business or to start one
You can
I guess I am not getting into a selective college
I mean there’s other things you can do
Like
But if you don’t feel like doing much then probably not no
I mean what are your interests
Clubs, activities, etc
If you’re really into business and learning business maybe try making an online store, or even just selling stuff around your town
Hell you could mow lawns to make money but try to incorporate some of what you’ve learned about business and give yourself a name and bam
I am going to do DECA, JAG-K, part time job
yeah
Yeah that stuffs good
but right now?
are you doing aanything right now?
I don’t know what to do
No I don’t know
at least frehsman year
I don’t know
Ah okay
wdym you don't know
Still, you got a bit of time to develop interests and stuff
this semester is over
Just try stuff out
I don’t know what extracurriculars I can do
Basically all colleges want to see is that you’re not just sitting around doing nothing
yeah
that you're productive
taking initiative
Sports, clubs, community service, find out what your school offers
spending your time on something other than school
we can't really help you much if you don't want to do anything
u said no to dual enrollmet
no to doing anything new this year
My school offers Science Olympiad, Environmental Science Club, DECA, JAG-K, and Scholars Bowl
No those are the main
Ah
Yeah 900 students
Or just any other interests in general
True
that u can in fact do next sem
Have you guys taken applied combinatorics?
Fuck that shit
Why?
I will never
Yeah I am planning on building FBLA
Combinatorics is just so icky imo
ok
good
do it next sem
apply for it next sem
and get it in your school by soph year
Is it hard to digest?
But the thing is I am not that popular in my high school
u don't have to be
just have like 8 people
who want to take it with u
worrk on that the entirety of next sem
Like I am kind of annoying in my high school
I don’t talk that much
It just is I say things that they don’t like
you must have friends
I dunno it just never made much sense to me. Hard to reason through in your head and there’s a lot of weird principles to learn. Same with number theory. Not my cup of tea. I’d try learning some on your own before you take a class, I think you kinda either love it or hate it
so gaather them together
try to get some more people
who are interesed in business
if you are going to stay here because u dont want to talk, then we can't help
i mean taking college courses is still an option for you
Okay
I am scared though if I get rejected
get through fear of failure
anyways
I gtg
bye
Ok
OMG YES
literlaly that ONE test brought my average in math down by 10%
Ong should be banned
ong or omg
Ong
What is it now
Wait so did you get a F
The semester is over
D
Accel precalc
Which is all of stats and all of precalc shoved into one semester
So it was a pretty fast class
Oh ok
But I have trig next so I don’t think it’ll be as bad
I wish I did precalc next year
And I’ll be done with calc bc by junior year
And senior year ig I’ll do like linear algebra or something
Bro I thought you didn’t even wanna do calc 😭
Aw yea the good stuff
ugh senior year is gonna be such a bad course load
Adv physics AND a college math
T^T
I do
But kind of don’t
At the same time
We kind of have to
Why
If we don’t do it in hs we’re prob gonna do it in college
Unless you’re just that bad at math
^
Then I won’t go to college
Fantastic idea
Yeah ik
Has anyone taken ap research? If so, can you tell me what it’s like?
should I take ap stats at school in senior year or DE multivariable calc/linear algebra
I'm taking ap calc ab next year (junior year)
I’m also in this dilemma
Just know that you should self study BC concepts not covered in AB (it’s not that many) before going to multi variable
I finished pre calc this semester and i will take ap calc next year when i am a sophmore, what will i take in my junior year?
Probably other AP courses like AP stats, or you’ll do things like multi variable calc
If I am taking Honors Chemistry this year, should I do AP Chemistry next year or do AP Biology instead? I am planning to do Honors Physics next year as well.
well what's your intended college major? if it's chemistry/engineering then do ap chem
I was planning on being a Pharmacist.
Definitely do AP Chem ... no question.
I am currently a sophomore, so I can do AP Chem and Physics next year.
And then AP Bio in my senior year.
Chemistry is essential in pharmacy.
sounds like a plan!
Thank you for the help!
I'm planning on taking AP Chem and AP Physics 2 at the same time next year
I'm planning on taking APUSH and AP Econ the same year
I'm planning on taking MV Calc and AP Stats in the same year
What are some things I should be prepared for about taking courses of the same subject at once?
(please ping if anyone replies so I see it)
and @hollow finch what do you wanna do/major in
He wants to become a physician
nah definitely not
I guess, but like credit
its like csp and hug
why tf would you do multi tho??
cuz it's fun
for you, not for everyone
and u will eventually have to take it in college probably
lol probably not
especially if u want to be a physician
not multi 😂
stats will definitely be a requirement
multivar contnues that
and theres a fat chance youre actually getting credit for multi
AP Stats is pretty useful if you are going to be a physician because you need to analyze data
just take it for fun then like who cares
bro
that can be learned in a couple of weeks
right
and imo they should take multi var
on what basis?
because ap stats doesn't really teach anything new
yes it does?
Honestly Parker should do calculus because he seems more interested in it
understading experimental design, being able to run hypothesis tests, work with data
yeah
and plus
he already took
bc
that's common sense
and I think that's pretty much
taught
run hypothesis tests arent
in all the sciences
lol all of this is a joke
Also Parker will learn how to analyze stats and data in college
middle school knoeldge
yeah ofc it does
but why take an intro stats when you can get credit for it from AP stats?
and instead take a more interesting stats class
what math are you in
did u do calc
yea
It is his senior year and he has 6 APs
He doesn’t want to overload
I never said u need to
and also
Probably
much more than for multi
well...for multi you can actually test out with what u learnt
learned*
but for stats
lol
college stats
way harder
also
did u take multi
after calc
He doesn’t need to know harder stats
ik
yes
He just needs to know basic stats
I just feel like
i ddid
youre just not gonna need mutli for anything
and like sometimes taking a course that actually teacher you smething is better
Its my opinion
you won't convince me
My goal is to help parker make his decision
It isn’t but why should you waste your time learning complex statistics you aren’t going to use
idc whether you think stats is better
Because he asked for it
😂 bro I literally just said stats will be more useful as a physician which is true its not an opinion
Your right
Calculus is not that useful in medicine
But Parker likes calculus more
half of the thigns people learn in school and college are useless
okay?
dude degrees aren't even used
yea if thats the case then go for it
as commonly
Yeah he should do something he likes
right
If he likes calculus over stats then take calc if he doesn’t like stats don’t take it
