I got 13 APs thats my grind lmao
Is it very hard??
oh ahaha
.
um yeah APs range in difficulty ofc
Yeah fs
but most of them are easy to get 3-4s on even if you dont study
Oh
5s are a different story but yeah
thats great
Cuz my school barely offers honors classes. It's all AP or advanced...
yeah just take APs if they offer them, lol. At least if you wanna go to the ivies and stuff. Youre only a freshman so just see what youre comfortable with work-wise this year
Yeah, agreed
wtf
over 4 years not just one year
which
HUG, CSA, US History, Euro History, English Lang, Calc BC, Physics C: Mechanics, Chemistry, Stats, English Lit, Microecon, US Gov, Calc AB but subscore
bru
idk if Iād count ab sub score but thatās a crap ton of work
the ab subscore is something you have to add on the common app which is why i listed it
o
Iām deciding on bc or ab
bc seems like itās not too different because itās two chapters more than ab
bc is harder cause it introduces series, convergences, etc. but if you're comfortable with math id do it
Is euro hard? For 10th grade imma try to take AP euro, AP seminar (some research and presenting class for 0 period) and AP computer science principles
AP euro is very difficult, yes.
lots of content to go over plus the essays suck
AP CSP i heard is brain-dead easy
same with AP Seminar
Bro thats funny tbh , nvm
But ap's are difficult
Yeah fs
Howās physics and astronomy? Oh and also chem
chem is the easiest class of iāve ever taken followed by AP World
Down side is that itās so easy i donāt wanna do my work
Chem is easy?
Iām asking cuz I want to take sophomore year
y e s
A lot of people say itās hard
itās so easy
man as long as you know how to add and subtract like 2+2 and 2-2 and know that there are 4 states of matter youāll get a double A ++++++++
ohhhhhh. AP Chem is pretty challenging, but still easy lmao.
A lot of people struggle with it tho
i was talking about reg Chem cus i had to drop AP Chem for band
i think people will appreciate the colors
oh shit iām taking 15 classes this year
just realized
wait how do u take spanish 1 +2 as a college course
how tf does ur school allow u to take 15 classes. our max is 7 classes
i asked a bunch of people for signatures so they lost track
Honestly it sounds fake lmao
āHonors Advanced Bandāsounds very fake
Should I take ap Lang 1 year and then ap lit the next?
Iām doing Honors Geometry, CP Freshman Physics, CP English 9, CP World History but Iām not doing a world language, does Honors Algebra 2 or Honors Precalculus if I take the advancement opportunity (Iām pretty good at math) Honors English 10, Honors Biology, and CP US History 1 and Chinese 1 sound like a good schedule for me next year? I currently have all Aās.
In my school we do physics freshman year bio sophomore chem junior and a more math-based physics/science elective/AP Science senior year
But you could start with Honors Bio freshman year and do Honors Chem sophomore year and do a more math-based physics/science elective/AP Science Junior year
I didnt start with Honors Bio so Iām planning to do it next year
currently feeling this sleep deprived af and still on 1 classes hw
yes that seems fine
Iām planning to do Ap gov Ap seminar Ap environmental Ap lang and comp Ap stats
us 2 h
Pre calc H
And Ap csp
Senior year Ap research Ap world Ap Calc Ap psych Ap comp sci A AP PSYCHICS 1
Ap economics
And a English 4 honors
But yeah Us 1 is my hardest subject this year itās not good
I have a high B or b plus
Iām taking AP Calc BC next year - should I take AB over the summer to set a foundation for BC, or would that be a waste of time?
Yeah. We start with Lang at my school too
It sets a good foundation.
Ab is not necessary over the summer
Calc Bc goes over Ab
With extra stuff
I am having a trouble in selecting what course is better and have a good money in it, like bachelors of computer science, bachelors of artificial intelligence, bachelors of aerospace engineering. Which of the three is good enough and have a lot of money?
I Google searched it and it seems that AI has a whopping money.
Idk about AI. But aerospace and compsci can get u the bag
You probably need masters in these things to consider make low six figures
Yeah or a phd
Also all of those are like
The hardest things ever
Both to get into and to graduate
Nah u don't need to have a masters in compsci to make a lot of money
Some Tech companies hire u right out of college, u have to be really good at what u do tho
If I do precal in the summer should I do AB for 10th grade instead of BC?
You shouldnāt even be doing AP Calculus AB or BC in 10th grade
Gotcha thanks!
Yeah but it is a very fast pace class
They cover all of AB in one semester
Yeah but I'm saying that taking Ab is very redudant
because BC goes over it anyways
I mean if you do AB before BC
That isnāt that great
Yeah
Like I understand you can take BC without ever taken AB but you need to prepared for the fast pace class
I see.
Not really I mean I searched.
Oh I mean like I heard that I can easily get a placement from my college itself after completing my 4 yr degree as long as I get a good college with good placement. But the problem is that I can't decide which bachelors to do. Like what is good computer? Aerospace? AI?
Because all these field get a whopping money.
I don't really care about interest anyways because I have no interest too. I don't have any particular likes too since I will just study it at the end of the day.
Also I heard about another bachelors of data science.
What are you thoughts about it?
Yeah like they will hire you on the campus placement.
I don't know which to choose which is really confusing since the aim at the end of the day for everyone is to make money.
U can become software engineer with compsci degree, tech companies pay a lot
I see. I was hesitating because my cousin brother is now a computer engineer grad and he said that AI is a blooming field nowadays.
And aerospace gives a lot of money too.
Cybersecurity is good too
I just searched it out.
It seems like I will have to give jee for that.
š
And the exam is just few months away.
Btw just so you know jee is the toughest exam in India for engineering colleges.
Also thank you all for the replies you have given.
Appreciate it.
I think the highest salary without further education is a certain type of engineering at 75,000
You should be fine
Going to high school next year should I take Spanish or French Iām already fluent in mandarin so thereās no point in that and most schools only offer those three languages
Idk which one do you like Spanish or French?
No one can decide for you except yourself
Although I will say Spanish is much easier than French
I have no preference, which is the problem
Take Spanish
It is much easier and more fun
Hi, I'm a sophomore year high school student in Turkiye planning to take the SAT next year and be an international student in a US University. Here in Turkiye (instead of selecting courses to take like the US), right before the start of Junior year you select one of four areas;
Numerical (Math and Science),
Literary (Literature and Social Studies),
Equaly Weighted (Math and Literature)
and Foreign Language (All-English lessons)
I want to choose the Equally Weighted are because I don't really like biology and chemistry and you can take pretty fun classes like drama with it. It is already mandatory to take 2 years each of bio, chem and physics in your freshman and sophomore year.
My question is, is my 2 years each of each science enough to get into college? Or should I choose the Numerical area? (Also, I already take English AND French as second languages so that's not a problem)
Oh, and Math in Numerical and E.W. have the same curriculum, and thus pre-calc required for most colleges
Probably not 2 years more like 4 years
So, 2 years physics, 2 years chemistry and 2 years biology is considered 2 years of science?
The colleges I want to apply to require at least 3 years of science, according to their cds
It's not often recommended but I have a similar plan aswell. I'd recommend doing Calculus AB rather than BC straight out of precalculus. I haven't taken BC but I'm currently taking AB after and I think it's the better way to go.
should i take english ii honors next year or ap world history? (my school restricts the number of AP/honors courses)
Do you have to pick or can you take both?
Bro why thatās annoying
What do you like more?
Why not?
Okay sounds good!
Hmm
You probably havenāt learned pre calculus yet
So AP Calc is a really bad choice
I see, yeah my friend who is doing precal as a freshman said to do precal next year as a soph
But I want to do precal over the summer so I can do ab or bc next year, stats in jr, and multi var calc at a local community college sr year
Just because your friend said to do it doesnāt necessarily mean you should
Dude calm down just take it your junior or senior year
That is the best time
No what I mean is my friend said not to do it over the summer
Because it might be confusing and stuff
Yeah you probably shouldnāt do it over the summer
Yeah without a teacher to guide you it wonāt be easy
Hmm
Yeah but I thought maybe completing all the math offerings before college would be a good idea, and to do that I'd need to skip a year and do it during the summer
True ig
But I think the summer school they have has teacher assistance
Also should I take AP Comp sci in 10th or 12th? If I take it in 10th, I'll have to skip POE
Just do it your junior year the best outcomes will come
Yeah sounds good
Probably 12th
It is a hard class
I'll just do the multi var calc after sr prolly
I see
Yeah I donāt want you to fail these hard APās
Last question: Should I do physics 10th and ap physics 11th? or do chem and then the physics courses
Because the thing is I see sophomores bombing hard AP classes because of no experience
I mean I like comp sci in general, but my real worry is space on my schedule
Oh probably 12th
Is it AP Physics 1?
@broken lagoon
There are only 2 physics courses, normal physics and ap physics
You need to take normal to take ap the next year
What AP Physics is it like 1 2 or 3
Not sure it might be all 3
No that isnāt how it works
Well there is only 1 ap physics offering at the school so idk lol
I donāt know what AP Physics you are taking about but I will tell you, you should most likely take it 12th grade because Physics is really hard
I see
I want to do Earth and Space Science (because I LOVE space), but apparently the rigor is low
Wdym the rigor is low
Idk thats what my teacher said
I guess its like a super easy class
I mean you shouldnāt care what the teacher says if you like it go ahead and do it
Hm
Will it like hurt my college app lol?
I donāt think so
You should be fine
Okay I'll think about it then haha
Also you are a freshman right?
Heyy
Hi
Yeah lol
Heyyy
Wht courses should i take to increase my chance to attend med school
Oh donāt be too worried about the college application you will make it out fine
Hahaha okay thanks
Just research the process of getting in too and if you need help deciding what colleges look for look at there common data sets
And have fun 𤩠your freshman year
I see sounds good
š
One of my friends had the same/similar question haha
Good!!
Then whts the ans
I think he's going to do Bio, AP Bio, Bio med sciences, and some of the other courses related to med that the school offers
I don't know much sorry
Oh probably chemistry and biology
Like advanced courses
Because you will have to do a lot of chemistry
I mean Advanced courses really help so yes
But you should take general Chemistry and Biology
Before the advanced classes
so i need to have 4 science credits for graduation, but i'm not exactly sure what i should do.. i plan to major in marketing and i'm not a huge science person. i already took honors bio and i'm currently in honors chem, what would anyone recommend for 11th and 12th grade?
anything that says kap is the equivalent of honors btw
I recommend you take physics for at least a year, most colleges like to see that. Maybe you'll also find forensics interesting? You could also take AP Bio since you already took honors bio, AP Chem is pretty hard from what I've heard.
Sorry that response is kinda all over the place LOL, but just do what you find interesting. If you like APs, you could take AP Physics 11th and AP Bio 12th and vice versa, or physics + forensics/another science
forensics is a really fun class (im planning to go pre-vet so totally not related to what i want to do in life) your really lucky that you have forensics as a full semester class, at my school its half semester
im currently taking ap bio as a sophomore as although it hasnt been easy (i average 70s on tests/quizzes) im not doing particularly bad either (also my teacher is really nice and lets us do test retakes/corrections)
Hey guys so I have a small issue
I could have done algebra 1 this year (9th grade math and I am in eighth grade) but I decided instead I would do 10th grade ela. But what happened was they got rid of 10th grade and ninth grade ela due to a teacher shortage. If they don't have advanced algebra in high school and I can't do 10th grade math unless I do 9th grade. Just means I won't be able to be a year ahead in math like I will be with every other subject. I want to do business/econ and I know math is important for those fields. They also didn't have room to add me when I asked at the beginning of the year. What am I to do?
need to pick
okayy thank you !
oooo!! yeah i am kinda interested in forensics lol
ask your counselor or whoever organizes class schedules
Algebra 1 should be in 8th grade
Certain type? What exactly is it?
Thank you for the concern! Appreciate a lot!
It might be Chemical, Iām pretty sure Gohar made a video about this.
I see. I will go through his shots, thank you so much!
I found out that there's a "Physics and applied mathematics" course in Queen's Belfast
I'm thinking that that's the kind of course I wanna do
but I wanna apply to MIT, Cambridge, Oxford and Stanford because I like them all equally
I wouldn't prefer one over the other
so it x4 my chances of getting accepted into my dream university
You can only apply to Cambridge or Oxford
Cause theyāre rivals
Idk the reason actually but still
Opinions:
6th grade - Pre-Algebra
7th grade - Algebra 1
8th grade - Geometry and Algebra 2
9th grade - Trigonometry and Precalc
10th grade - Calc BC + AP Statistics
11th grade: Multivariable calc + Linear Algebra
12th grade: Real\Complex Analysis(each one semester) + Differential Equations
You seriously spend an entire year on one topic?
You could get it all covered in like a week bro
Dayum
Well the rivalry does literally go back centuries
Oxford was founded in the 1000s iirc
šš¤
Oh god
Wtf was that
I need to sleep bro
For senior year how does this sound?
Ap calculus bc, ap physics c mech: e & m, ap japanese, ap lit, ap micro and macro, drama honors
Is it better to do PSEO jr and sr year or just take a bunch of ap classes and just be a teenager?
ur not allowed to be a teenager until college if u wanna get into like MIT
however there are manageable course loads
for me I just wanna go to a UC so mine isnt that bad
well actually its funny cus I still have to take the hardest courses
See here is the thing, top colleges are not my biggest priority
good
they shoudlnt be
literally its ur social economic background
that determines ur life
anyways
I just dont know if college in high school is worth me missing out on friends and sports. I mean ik ill have friends in college but it will be harder to participate in my clubs and sports
Ill prolly do it bc yk 2 years free college but idk š¤·š»āāļø
Facts
@cinder gorge your pfp be looking fabulous
Just do normal high school but compete in academic competitions and self-study topics that interest you
It's better to stay with friends
And have a somewhat typical adolescence
Cuz you'll end up regretting missing out on experiences and memories with your friends
Bro tf
I turn into a wise old man after midnight
Gremlins but weird
a day at my pace
Yeah i mean i get that but i also think 2 years free of college is a good thing to do. I mean i could still do practices but not all of the races/meets. Idk
Ye I was thinking of doing it like this:
9th grade - Algebra 1
Summer - Geo
10th Grade - Algebra 2
Summer - Pre-Cal
11th Grade - AP Calc AB
12th Grade - AP Calc BC
Ok
So I would not recommend both AB and Bc
They have the same thing
But bc just has more
And is faster
So in senior year u could probs take something like Calc III
My school doesn't offer that course
how many aps do people take to get in ivys? around 9?
take stats then
Do you recommend I take stats junior or senior year?
You could possibly dual enroll in a local community college and take Calculus III.
Depends on how many are offered at your school. I'd say on average, maybe seven?
Is Cal III after BC??
Yes
Alright, thanks
im planning to double math either year and take stat
alr so ill attempt 8-10 then
Oh k
Personally, I am aiming for 13-14 by the end of high school. But that's not gonna be easy,
My high school offers a lot of AP courses and not that many honors classes, thats why
is AP calc BC that much more difficult then AB
how many have you taken yet?
i think so
Haven't taken either yet, but probably.
If you've taken ap calc ab, I've heard that it's actually easier than ab.
Oh thats suprising
its not too surprising
ig
if you are covering more material faster, you get past lots of the fluff
True
i was in an accelerated math program and thats how it was like my freshman year
i would see my friends math homework and have no clue what half the stuff was even though we're working on the same thing
also how many AP classes should I take my junior year if I dont wanna kms
3-5
Depends on your preferences
How many AP's are you taking this yr?
Oh
no other AP's offered this year
Oh okay
im tryna be more of a pike student and pursue an engineering degree
It depends on the AP's offered at your school next yr. Pick the ones you are personally interested in
And the field you want to go into
Yeah, so choose some AP courses that you think might benefit you towards those goals/fields
not much experience yet but im taking an engineering program this summer
Same here, a week is my class' pace š
11
Now, why 11?
.
Ok
11 so that u can take AP lit senior
Because there is no point of taking lang
If y are not going to follow up with lit
And lit is harder
And lang teaches u how to write essays that can be used for lit
Ap lang comes from
I didnt do lang and im in lit this year š ill probably just struggle the whole year
U should do fine as long as u can analyze
It is just good preparation
okay thats good
When u realize ur gonna need to take trig and calc to be an architect and ur mentally slapping urself bc how did u not know that and ur sad bc u dont want to take calc
Should I take Chinese or Spanish in 9th Grade???
what is more useful and what do you want to take?
Depends, what do you think you will be more comfortable doing. If you are new to both languages, I honestly would just go with Spanish (what I'm taking), because its probably more simple to take, but go for Chinese if you have the chance, because not as many people take Chinese, so Chinese may stand out in a college application, considering it is harder than Spanish in most cases.
My mum is Chinese, I can speak it, but I cannot read or write. They would put me in the higher class even though I'm in between, and it would not look too good in my report...
Spanish is quite fun, and there are hardly any people who can speak Spanish, so they start from the beginning, which would be easier.
Yet, most of my friends are taking Chinese and Chinese seems more useful.
I have already been accepted into a Junior College (7th & 8th) which gets me in college automatically, so I don't worry about college applications too much.
If you can already speak Chinese, I would say just go for the Chinese then. (Thats what I would do, if I was in your scenario)
Okay, thanks!
This isn't based on anything besides my experiences, take Chinese. It's really fun and I love learning how to write the characters. I originally took Chinese it because I wanted to challenge myself, but now I genuinely enjoy it.
Should i take AP chem
currently a junior, thinking of these classes for senior year. thoughts?
Wasnāt sure if I should double up on Spanish hence dark highlight
My plan before I quit band vs after
Tell me what you guys think. Those two PE classes from my band get waived by my Law class.
we're learning stuff as advanced as l'hopitals rule in Honors Math 3 but they still don't weigh the course which is weird
its a Calc BC prep course
i've been told by the AP Reddit that usually it isn't learned until calc bc which is why i thought id be smth to mention
Ap Spanish is Spanish five
I would recommend taking Ap Lit since ur taking lang
not at my school lol
Itās not about the school
Like at the level
Like ap spanish is level 5 spanish
However it is mostly for preparing you for an exam
ohh mbmb I misunderstood
tru my guidance counselor did say I could maybe skip Spanish 5
but it sorta depends on how I do in Spanish 4 so :,)
if I can skip it Iāll prolly jus TA for a class or smth
Hey guys so I'm an eighth grader right now and I could have done algebra one but I decided not to because I was going to do 10th grade ELA and I didn't want to do too much honors in Middle School issue was due to a teacher shortage they had to get rid of all English honors so do you know any way I could learn algebra one so I can do geometry next year. The work right now is too easy and I really want to be able to do calculus in my senior year
Does your school allow you to do algebra classes in the summer?
That's a good idea I'll check with my guidance counselor Monday to see if that's an option
One requirement for an advace diploma is at least three years of one language study, but is taking more than three years of one language for college worthwhile?
I'm in ninth grade and currently enrolled in Spanish ll
How far should I go, in your opinion?
Stop at Spanish lll?
How many spanish levels are there
Because if there are 5, i think you should finish as much as you can
Take spanish in all ur grades
You could improve it and in work it will build a strong resume
Ur welcome :))
should I take AP Lit and Lang bc I want to be better at analyzing and it looks good in college or should I take english 3 and eng 4 instead cause I kinda suck at english
Whatever ur comfortable with
I would recommend the AP options
However
U could also consider AP seminar and AP research
Because colleges are slowly liking them
Since they are research based and can show that you can use your knowledge and apply it
should i take AP gov if i haven't taken Apush but have taken ap world and got a B+ both semesters? is it possible to get an A in gov
(my school's APs are kinda hard, i got a 5 on the ap world test tho)
damn you want to take 6 ap's your senior year!?!
idk how you will survive if you do that
take care of yourself dude that is all I will say
The colleges im applying too only accept Comp
lang*
not lit
well its or lit
Lang or lit, not both
so Basically, my law class gives me an honors english class
The Expository English, Economics, Gov, and Law & Order & Policy class are all apart of the same progra
program
technically I get PE Credit for Gov
AP Eccon gives me gov credit
Yeah...
My district requires 4 years of PE, but to get around that for people in the program, the figure out a way to give it.
So its called United States Government and gives PE Credit as opposed to American Government (P) which gives the Social Science Credit
its also why its purple on my thing
which one is better
It matters on what your major iss
If your major is going to be related to literary arts or English, Ap lit and lang are better
however, if your major is going to be related to science, seminar and research are better.
oh okie thx
I might wanna take both tho lmao
Thatās fine
U will just have to give up something else
^^^
well in 7th grade most people are 12 so...
community college\online school
Man I was 13 in 7th grade lmao
My bday is in august lmao
Most 12 year olds aren't severely congitively challenged tho...
im
Bro actually just used a backslash
Shocking bro
I never did pre-algebra
13 is within the normal age-range for 7th grade
Gra gra boom
Thatās good.. however I think that macroeconomics is one semester
And micro is another
my school has it two semesters
Ohh
1 of the semesters gives me AP Gov credit
Ohh got it
its
So u can take the AP gov exam
I can, but i won't
its not an actual ap gov class
we don
we don't do any gov things
it just shows up on the transcript as such
same
One lunch
oh
So 8 total
My school has 6 class periods in total for most people
Oh
The rest i fit in else where lmao
Ohh
Ohh
So all your other classes are from like a school
Cuz I see like 10 classes per semester
CCC is California Community Colleges and and Uni is my local university
those are online
and the 8th period is just band after school
R u not planning to take AP spanish
Im taking spanish at my college
Ok
AP Spanish gives me Span 1 credit for college, but im taking that this semester lol
But isnāt ap spanish like level 5 spanish
its th 5th level of hs spanish, college spanish 1 is HS Spanish 1 an 2... so technically its higher, but they don't give higher credit
Spanish 2 is HS 304
Oh
yeah
So r u in a dual enrollment program
My school doesn't offer dual credit or anything so I enroll in the colleges seperately
My HS can't see my grades for college n stuff
What major r u planning
And college
UC Berkeley I plan on attending
Major is the main degree program
a minor allows a student to explore different disciplines.
Its like a certification
Yeah
you don't have to take a minor, and I could graduate in 1 year without one, but i feel like Aerospace Engineering would be fun
sounds like theres a lot of prereqs for engineering classes tho
even for a minor
ye
3 pre reqs 3 upper div classes for minor
dang thats a lot
since I am covering the calc and basic science reqs
for a minor, no
stats requires like 8 classes
i mean thats like an extra 1.5 semesters
cause of poly sci?
yeah
thats cool
Im getting most reqs now
yeah
Rocket Science is a hobby of mine but everyone says I should go and work for SpaceX or NASA
im trying to get into Cal but for EECS so prob not getting in lmao
with only a minor idk how possible it is to get a job like that
I have a History exam on Tuesday
oh i thought you were alr in LOL
oh
as like dual enrollment i assume
no
On Colonies, Flight of the earls, Plantations and the 9 year war
I don't get dual credit, i just enrolled in a class there as a student lol
thats why technically I go to uni
yeah thats still dual enrollment
o
even if you dont get hs credit
Dual Enrollment means your HS counselor can see grades and stuff, concurrent means they cant
also the credit oppertunities
People brought it to me as top schools accept concurrent enrollment credit but not dual enrollment credit bc of that
yeah
I wanted to as a freshman
but I was too young
i technically did but i think you would classify it as dual enrollment
one of my HS classes wasnt an AP but gave me credit at the local community college
No
cause I have to take that at my local college
But the difference is that its a "unitrack"class so it shows up on my HS Transcript as AP Calc
if your school suipplies the test
i don't wanna try to take an online math class š
you didnt have to deal with COVID didnt you š
My school didn't have enough kids to make an AP Physics C class so its all online and I have a friend who took AP Calc BC and Stats in the same year, missed a month and a half due to an injury, and still got 5s and A+s in both, who is struggling.
I did.
They said to use calculators on our phones cus of covid and so we all used mathway and no one knew how to do basic math when we came back
so
yeah
we didn't have a teacher for 1 semester either so
oh dang
I have a question If I have an 80 in a class for my quarter 1 of school what happens if I get an A+ on my second quater can both grades average to an A?
I am a freshamn btw and I dont want this one bad grade affect my GPA for highschool
since i am aiming for a 4.0
unweighted*
Iām pretty sure theyāre semester grades
So if u get 100 on second
80and hundred averaged
90
Usually theyāll take the overall course grade, so this includes the exam grade
okay thanks I checked and actlly its a B+
so I would prob need to just have an A and it can averge to an A thats good because I am striving for a 4.0
but this B really upset me
May I know what class this is
Oh
its cuz my teacher
Ok
is really annoying
Does ur teacher give extra credit
i have a bad teacher
Itās this quarter right
no
U can make it up next quarter
yeah
Does the teacher give retakes
yeah
we have to write on google forms
and then
listen to the teacher
talk and translate
on that google form
Ohh k
yeah but
So is it vocab
since I have a B+
no if that was the case then I would have a 100
yeah but mostly my fault too for not studying for a test and quiz
Or even
that brought my grade down
alright
Watch general videos on Spanish
Just try to get used to it
You donāt need to study with a textbook and everything
And most of sll
Do this slowly
Donāt just spam at the night before the test
since I have a B+ and I know since i am working hard and get an A or A+ it can average to an A so I can get that 4.0?
Yeah
Well
It matters
Different schools have different policies
For our school
We have A B C d or F
At the end
No minuses or pluses
But in some schools those matter for GpA
Is the final exam like 30 percent of your grade
yeah its a big deal
and i screwed up on it
since I crammed
which is bad
but if this is true if I can get an A on the second quater and my grade will raise to a 4.0 it will be good
thanks for the help
What are the thoughts on doubling up on AP Chem and AP Bio in the same year? I'm a sophomore right now, and looking ahead to junior year, and I want to take them both, but I'm already planning to do AP Physics C: Mechanics senior year
Tbh, taking both sciences will be tough
Chem is the hardest
And bios pretty tough
However
They both together are 3 periods
Because each is 1.5 periods
Cuz AP science
But
If youāre smart
And can handle pressure
Go ahead
Also, if you have to decide one of them, take chem if you donāt want to become a doctor, otherwise take bio
Yeah, my school does this thing with it though where they do the labs on alternating days, so you can still do both in just 2 periods. I was also thinking about taking a study hall to make up for the extra work. I want to go into Biomedical engineering, and it seemed like both would be really useful
Yeah thatās fine then
Study hall is a good idea
Why do peoples schools give so clases more then 1 period lol
also why do the split ap physics up lol
Idk
Cuz maybe they have more content
And take more time
Cuz itās only the hard ones thst do
Like physics
And chem
And bio
But APES
Isnāt
if my school did that, no one would take ap sciences
Itās cuz we have early bird periods where we come 25 minutes early to school
So it all catches up
And plus
Itās 1.5 period
So
They can give up half of lunch
We have a 0 period but thatās only for jazz band or pe and we have the shortest lunch weāre legally allowed to have so thereās no time fir classes lol
I want to become a cloud architect or a high paying job in IT, what courses should I take for AP?
How much homework should I be expecting for honors or even AP chemistry in sopohomore yr?
@cinder gorge Honors Chem you donāt get much hw but it really depends on your teacher
But expect hw few days before test though
Most teachers donāt give you notes you have to take your own
Oh alright, thanks for the info.
might be late but im sophmore im doing ap phyics and ap bio next yr then ap chem and ap env sci senior
physics is supposedly easier
idk tho prob not
Which ap physics are you doing?
for me honors chem is ez
no homework
oh k
ok so should I do dual enrollment from top 10 community college in us or more aps in one year
What is the best uni course if i wanna become a cloud architect?
I would recommend dual enrollment personally, be where that most colleges wonāt accept the credit, especially if you get high school credit for the class.
just do dual at a community college near you
no need to do "top 10" or anything like that
colleges dont care honestly
Nah that's the only one near me so prob would do that either way
anyone a medical studennt here??
Let's be besties
What type of math is in honors chem for a sophomore because some people are saying you need algebra 2 but the website only says algebra 1, Iām also going into honors geometry next year too
i believe my school lists algebra 2? however iām taking honors algebra 2 rn and currently (halfway thru the first semester) itās all just review. so i think youād be alright to take it esp if they list it as algebra 1
At my school, Math 2 or for freshman Math 2 Honors as a co-requisite. Prerequisites are usually Alg1 1
Math 2 Honors is a mixture of Pre-Calc, Geometry, Trig, and Alg 2 so idk what it actually is.
Alright thanks!!
If I want to get into a good university, does taking a more advanced math class earlier affect your acceptance rate of getting in? For example if I finish AP Calc AB and BC by the end of 12th grade, will I have a better chance of getting into more selectively schools or would it roughly be relatively close to those who haven't taken Calc AB or BC
This is my 4 yr plan rn
bru
I think u should lower the bar a bit
also thatās like 1600 bucks in ap exams lol
also sometimes it doesnāt work out due to scheduling issues
taking both ab and bc just shows colleges that it took u two years to learn the same thing + 2 chapters
so just do bc or ab and then move on to stats or something
also taking bc or ab wonāt affect your chances, getting a good score on the exams will
cuz thereās roughly 400k students taking an ap calc course
aps arenāt even that big in the admissions process unless you get like a 100% on an exam
Id say
Human geo is pretty pointless
And also
Physics C is not good to take without taking Physics I or II first
And music theory is also not very useful unless u like music
And yeah
Ab and bc
Donāt take both
Nah I need to take that for performing arts credits
Do u recommend me take Calc ab and stats?
Oh k tysm
I recommend BC
But if not
Then of course AB
However
I donāt consider stats very important
I would rather take Calc III/multi variable calc
Because it has more implementations
Alright thanks
And although might not have AP credit
Appreciate it
It is a better class
š
Should I take econs or business studies next year
Next year would also be my last year in hs
Well more like secondary school
No geometry?
heās doing it over the summer
AP econs are best
bru
does ur school offer physics c
sadly no
they dont even offer ap macro/microeconomics
i mean i think i got it
im studying ap chem, ap physics1, and ap comp sci rn
technically
im in a study group
interesting
and we have 4 books we are working on rn
i have ap physics, others have ap chem, ap comp sci, and ap calc bc books
one sec
ru sure u can handle that much
apush itās self is a lot of work
not that Iām doubting you or anything
but just to save a bit of sanity
its only four ppl and we tackle each book and once we are done we rotate the books
we are using barron's and princeton review books
yeah i was thinking about apush heavily
LMAo yesyes ofc
donāt take it if your a steam guy
cuz um itās useless sometimes and too much work
mmm okayokay
yeah a lot of my senior friends
have told me apush was hell
and just to take cpush
itās an ap for those who arenāt good at steam but good at history and stuff
unless ur a gigachad ap stan or something
im good at history i think, so far in my AP World History, ive aced every single test, quiz, SAQ, SOAPS, basically everything that has came my way
hmm
i feel like i can treat apush similarly but i dont wanna be cocky and mess up myself
also ap English (depending on the teacher) can be stressful too
yk these channels like math help, school advice, etc. are sooo much more tolerable than the main chat, main chat is full of mods who just mute eachother for no reason
true
my ap english teacher is basically my friend
ok then thatās good
shes very young like 23 or smt im 15 so its like
same generation
same kind of pyschology
as long as she knows what she is doing
she is probably my 3rd fav teacher, I had her 9th grade
she was very good at english 9, i hope she is just as good at ap eng
š ap chem teacher is also my friend kind of
she teachers both cp and ap chem
cp chem is so easy omg too easy
how long
and she could tell its too easy for me
maybe 6ish years at my school
so she lets me look at the ap chem textbook during breaks and brunch/lunch with a group of friends
yeah i just dont wanna kill myself with apush thats all i am concerned for
Yeah
my school doesnt even offer seminar
and many people donāt realize how hard it actually is
yesyes
But Iām gonna take APush
seminar is useless imo
fake ap
Cuz we have a us history requirement
fake ap just like ap human geo
Not necessarily
so is research unless capstone reward
"freshman ap" is what ppl call it at my school š
lmao
I mean Iām in 11th and Iāve only done 5 including now
I could do 2 more but then thatād be max
WHAP, AP HuG(ligth work), and Calculus AB
Wow
I KNOW ITS CRAZY
but
i have a job
i work at my parents restaurant
and i have to pay for it myseklf
Wow
even with job thatās giving the ānon profitā a crap ton
so at least i have the payment cover
make sure u also get time for sat
Cuz
cuz thatās more important than aps
sometimes work interferes with school but i usually have enough time to finish school work at night or before school in the library
So Iām not gonna take those
it is but not for college
stats ima just use for a gpa boost in my senior year
Oh ok
I would honestly recommend calc III
Cuz even though itās not AP
Itās a good course
my school doesnt even offer that š
Oh ok
i feel like my school's catalog for AP's is a bit small
But I donāt agree with yāall on seminar and research
Ehh
But 14 is still good
nah f capstone
Itās being more recognized
who tf pays 150 for one exam that gets credit to 519 colleges
It teaches you important research skills
Because AP lit
Is kind of only good if U want an English
Major
who tf becomes an English major
But research can be applied to everything
low pay job
too much work too
Thatās why I would recommend capstone rather than lang and lit
my school is dumb and doesnāt even make it cover English req
so itās basically an elective
Ohhh
but a crap ton take it
my school offers 20 AP courses i just cchekced
cuz they suck at math and stuff
bru
Iām planning to take those
lmao my school has environmental science
