I haven't decided to my master's on what major should I pick,I'm gonna graduate as a bachelor on computer science
I have a question for everyone. I have the opportunity to apply to standford university and study physics at my dream university. But i am a german and i really like living here and also my whole family, friends and my girlfriend live here and plan to do so. I could also attend Heidelberg, one of the top universities when it comes to astrophysics. Any tips on how i should descide?
Wdym by " I have the opportunity". Im from Germany aswell and the extra-/supercurriculars here are harder to get than in the us. In case you have all the necessary stuff to have a good application I´d say just go for it. DM me
I am trying to decide if I should go for a Foundation year in the Netherlands. They will have open days next month so should I go for it? It´s a fashion course with a lot of interesting things I could explore and I could work on my portfolio while applying for college.

(my name),
Due to the competitiveness of this year's applicant pool and the size of our incoming class, we are unable to offer you admission for Fall 2025.
However, we are pleased to offer you the option of the Arts & Sciences Pathway Program for Fall 2026 as a transfer student. Each year, Georgia Tech enrolls 1,300 new transfer students, and we hope you will see this as a viable path to a Georgia Tech education.
The Arts & Sciences Pathway Program provides you an opportunity to transfer to Georgia Tech and pursue a major within the College of Design, Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, or College of Sciences. This program is for admission during the Fall 2026 term only. Please visit our website to review the program requirements.

*UIUC rejection is most likely due to low GPA in freshman year
*UT Austin's freshman are 90% Texas Residents, as an international student... ehh wasn't expecting much
*UC Davis' rejection did surprise me, my UC GPA (10th to 11th) is 4.41, close to the maximum weighted an IB student can have. To my knowledge CMU decisions came out today, but I didn’t receive any update to my application. What am I supposed to do now?

Davis is ranked #17 for biological sciences (tied w/ ucsd & ucla) and the only other schools I have left (that are ranked higher) are uc berkeley, stanford, and northwestern. (Realistically, I wouldn’t go to those schools since I doubt they can outweigh the pros of going to Davis)

To those who saw or still waiting back results from the ivies since today is ivy day:
Understand that a college decision is not the end of your adventure of pursuing your goals. Whatever your goal or dream is, know that your quest for success is just expanding into the unknown. A saying I always tell my friends is that:
"Your mind wanders up in the skies as it waits for the sun to set the stars above the horizon in your odyssey."
I don't know if that made some sense to anyone (or if it was just total cringe
) All I am trying to say is keep your eyes on your vision of success ❤️ regardless of your college decisions

*UIUC rejection is most likely due to low GPA in freshman year

*Purdue's waitlist is a really disappointing decision for me, because I honestly thought I would've been accepted.
*Tufts is famous of their yield protection (it's called tufts protection if you search on google), and my essays were really uninteresting because I honestly don't care for the school enough
*Georgia Tech's rejection is really sad, but expected. My freshman GPA probably fucked up my chances again as I don't even get close to the engineering average.
Committing to:
UCLA
Um, I'm updating this after getting accepted by their waitlist. Not much to say about it because it's definitely one of my dream schools, and I'm beyond excited to attend the school :D
I will be majoring in electrical engineering and planning on minoring or double majoring in CS, and it'll be a lot of fun!
Someone asked for my stats so here they are:
IB (International Baccalaureate): 43/45

FINAL LIST (As a Puerto Rican applying almost all out of state)
Accepted:
Penn State
Ohio State
UMaryland
Virginia Tech
Texas A&M at Galveston (rescinded my application)
Purdue Fort Wayne and Northwest
UPR Mayagüez
Rejected:
Georgia Tech
Purdue main campus
UVA
UT Austin
MIT
UMich (deferred and rejected)
-Penn State offered me zero aid of their own (only FAFSA and loans, not even a work study)
-UMD offered a $15,000 per year scholarship along with my other aid
-Virginia Tech gave me a $9,000 per year scholarship along with my other aid
-A&M Galveston didn’t offer me anything I’m aware of
-Purdue FW offered a 3,000 scholarship and Purdue NW offered 2,000
-UPR Mayagüez didn’t offer any necessary aid
-finally, Ohio State offered me $15,500 in scholarships, another $11,000 in grants, plus FAFSA + work study/loans for a total of $43,000 per year of financial aid, meaning we would only have to pay slightly more than what we do for high school today
I was down to UMD, Virginia Tech, and Ohio State
- Virginia Tech was far too much to afford and in the middle of nowhere
-we visited Ohio State and UMD:
Words cannot describe how unexpectedly much I love the Ohio State campus, life, city, spirit, food, etc. (Also ran into my upperclassman friend there twice unexpectedly)
Unfortunately I did not like the UMD campus or vibe and would really feel safe walking alone at night there + we would have to pay $10,000 more so no
Yesterday we confirmed, and I am proud to say I’m now an OSU Buckeye! Although I’ll miss my tropical but humid as hell home of Puerto Rico, I can’t wait to go to Ohio State for university
go blue

afterthoughts for each university
- drexel: would like to go there due to their coop, but it's so expensive 😭
- penn state: not bad of net cost due to in state, but kinda far. however they have the biggest alumni network so that's a plus
- temple: cheapest option, but i dont like temple so nah. they also apparently have a bad cs program so yeah
- njit: dont wanna go to nj, idk why i applied here 💀
- wcu: alright school ig. similar net price as penn state (2k cheaper) but dont think that school is good compared to penn state and drexel
- arcadia: heard that it is a bad school so yeah
- northeastern: i would prob get full ride there but i got waitlisted and i dont want to move to boston so i prob will reject offer
DECISION: PENN STATE UNIVERSITY @ UNIVERSITY PARK
prob the best option due to the huge alumni network and a state college that idm going to. bit far but i dont mind it tbh. im excited to become a penn stater and a nittany lion!!!
yes its a very appealing university, but the location and campus life kinda dissapoint me
Although not as cracked as everyone elese

Very interesting results. BC ended up being too expensive, and CC is a good option but I will be backtracking on something I said I wouldn’t do.
I will be going to Clemson University since my aid was extended, and I’ll definitely be aiming to transfer after a year, hopefully to a IB Target school. See you again next year!!! Shoutout @eternal sail

And I have like less then 3 weeks left to make up my mind and just enroll somewhere
Soooo since I might be cooked, anyone going to UTA?
