WE ARE IN THE FINAL STAGE OF RE-WRITES!
All that's left now are:

Re-write Apollo's lines in God Games (his old lines referred to the events of Ismarus, which no longer occur in EPIC).
POSSIBLY Re-write the ending of song 39 (I'd like to see if there is possibly a more coherent way to tie in the major theme of the show).
Re-write one of Calypso's last lines in Love in Paradise.

<@&876515904517722172> Hello my friends. I present to you an EPIC: The Musical Challenge. If you win, I will show an acted-out snippet from Song 17, There Are Other Ways, with a section that I have NOT shown before on TikTok. If you lose... try again next week. Here is the challenge:

EPIC: The Musical takes several creative liberties that move elements of the story away from its source inspiration, Homer’s The Odyssey. State 10 differences between the portrayals of Odysseus between EPIC and Homer’s The Odyssey, and then state 10 more differences between EPIC and The Odyssey. These extra 10 differences can be in character moments/portrayals, plot events, etc, but cannot be something like “The Odyssey isn’t told through songs, while EPIC is.” A better example would be:
“In The Odyssey, Odysseus and his crew go to (insert island name here) but in EPIC, they do not.”
“In EPIC, (insert character name here) plays a much larger role and has a much greater impact on the story than in The Odyssey.”
“(Insert important character name here” from Homer’s The Odyssey doesn’t make an appearance in EPIC.”

If 20 sounds like a lot, just remember you have each other to rely on. 🙂

The creator and producer of the new musical EPIC, an adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey, have announced the release of the first in a series of concept albums on Sunday, December 25. Entitled EPIC: The Troy Saga, the EP consists of the opening five songs from the musical which begins with the first part of the 3,000 year old Greek epic poem.

Name 10 video game/anime references in EPIC. These can be from anything EPIC related; you can use the EPIC explanation videos, the cinematic snippets, videos where the script is showing, anything, as long as you show 10 video game/anime references in EPIC and what video games/anime they come from. (You can even ask Backstage chat if they have any references that haven’t been released yet!)

But there’s a twist!

If you also show pictures of the references (aka show a picture of the reference happening in the video game/anime it’s from, or if it's a more general reference to video games/anime in general, show an example of it happening in a video game/anime), you will unlock a SECOND challenge that will occur later this week, which, if won, will lead to ANOTHER cinematic snippet of Puppeteer that will ALSO appear this week.

Some guy in the woods came up to me laughing like a maniac, and gave me this weird flower, saying “Eat it!!! You’ll need the powahhhh!!!” and then he just floated away!!!! I can’t help but feel like I know him from somewhere…
Anyways, I should be reaching Circe’s Palace tonight at 7pm EST.

B! In the most recent cinematic snippet, the melody of the nylon guitar is closest to the lines Odysseus says to Eurylochus in Full Speed Ahead, right before everything went south. (The syllables match up!) HOWEVER, I might change it so that’s it’s a blend of B and C.

The cyclops uses a right hook, landing right on the chimera’s lion head, knocking the chimera back. The chimera loses 100 HP.

The cyclops jumps away, dodging the snake head’s bite, and then grabs the tail and throws the chimera to the other side of the room, sending it crashing against the far wall! The chimera loses 100 HP.

Hey friends! Remember how in Survive, the cyclops pulled out a club last second, totally destroying Odysseus’s men after they over-extended their attack? ;)

Out of thin air, a club forms in the hands of the cyclops. Right before the moment of impact of PREDATOR’S DIVE, the cyclops swings his club, knocking the chimera back in the air and sending it crashing onto the ground. The chimera loses 100 HP.

CHIMERA: 0 HP

CYCLOPS WINS!

Before disappearing, the cyclops breaks the entrance to Jorge’s cage, releasing him. Jorge makes a break for it, escaping Circe’s palace with the Puppeteer snippet in hand…
Circe watches him go…

For those who don’t know, Mini was the lovely, talkative, sassy, wonderful cat who had comforted me throughout the entire EPIC process whenever I was stressed out. You might recognize her from her hilarious emojis or from one of my videos with her. Thankfully, she passed with her family all around her, all giving her love and affection. Hello my friends,
Today we finally arrived to Ithaca after a long journey spanning over several days which included multiple delayed flights, broken down vans, missed ferries, and more! One of our intentions upon arrival was to do a fun Jackbox event tonight with the cast and hang out with you guys!

Unfortunately, a myriad of obstacles have come up in the last several hours, and everyone on the team has been working extraordinarily hard to make magic happen despite having been up for over 24 hours and pushing through jet lag and late night hours here.

I care deeply about the wellbeing of my cast and crew, and so I have made the call to push the Jackbox stream to (hopefully) tomorrow night so that everyone can rest and be on their A-game.

I apologize to everyone who was waiting for a stream tonight, and I am thankful for everyone for being so supportive and enthusiastic for EPIC. I love you all and I can’t wait to have more fun memories with you. JaysEPICFamHeart
