Daphne is playing Arakni, Marionette against Velma, playing Valda, Seismic Impact. Velma controls a Leyline of the Old Ones.

On her turn, Daphne plays codex of Bloodrot and the turn passes to Velma. Velma goes straight to her end phase, triggering both the Bloodrot Pox under her control, and Leyline of the Old Ones’ self-destruct effect.

If Velma stacks the triggers such that the Bloodrot Pox resolves first and she chooses not to pay the cost, does she:

A) Create a Seismic Surge?
and
B) Keep her Leyline around?

#

Pretty sure the answer is yes to both since she controls the bloodrot and is thus dealing damage to satisfy Leyline and make a surge, and then the self-destroy fizzles due to a change in the game state(controlling a seismic)

As long as you layer the triggers correctly leyline will stick around, I believe because the blood rot is controlled by the Valda player it would be considered dealing damage, even if that damage is to itself. I tried looking it up for a friend and the best I have been able to find is this

I’m still researching, if a more experienced judge can offer some more insight please do so lol

I do know that blood rot is a non living card as it doesn’t have a life total

Correct

And the Valda player would control that source, so I feel like the Valda player would be considered have dealt damage
