#End of Time Procedure

Yeah that procedure has existed for a long time for timed elimination rounds but they changed the procedure for untimed rounds in line to ensure that a result is achieved within a reasonable amount of time
Thank you for the clarification
And, for some reason, they also changed the rule for the SUP seal (in this case, if a stalemate occurred, the game would be restarted, using the remaining time of the match).
Wait a minute, did they decide to rectify this rule in the pre-release?
this has actually always been the policy
or at least it's been the policy for as long as I've studied policy
Did you say that during prereleases, when a stalemate happened in the Swiss rounds, there was a rematch with the remaining time?
strictly speaking yes
In practice there will never be enough time to finish a rematch
also since pre-release is casual REL the TO can fudge things
I honestly didn’t know that! Ty!
I thought that in swiss you can replay the game with the rest of time if you stalemate too, not just for prerelease. The TRP says that you keep playing games until a player wins the required number of games (usually 1) or time expires
yeah, that is the policy in general. It never really comes into practice since games really only ever stalemate after a long grind, and there's never going to be enough time to do that twice within the alotted time
From section 3.1
For timed rounds (see Section 3.2 - Timed Rounds), the Players play games until a Player has won a specified number of games or the time in the round expires
Right, just worth noting that's not a special prerelease thing, it's an all timed rounds thing
You haven't judged enough enough competitive REL Super Slam limited :P
you had games that were ending in stalemates where players could finish 2 games in 30 min?
Depends on how fast the Tuffnut mirror is
tuffnut mirrors were going to time at my locals
No, just commenting on the way above average incidence of stalemates
yeah, I'm more just pointing out that "play anbother game" is just "the game ends in a draw" with extra steps
Ahh gotcha
I didn't personally see a game stalemate then run to completion at Montreal, I wonder if it happened at all 🤔
It happened during the calling day 1, two players restarted with 9min left and finished!
!!!! Wild!
