Great question. The release notes don't spell this out and it isn't obvious to me that it works this way based on Nimby's wording
The key part is that you "may search" which means you don't have to. And if you have to search for something specific you can always fail to find.

The question to me is whether the "may" extends to the rest of the sentence, because the shuffling is not conditional on the searching

The "you may" part follows everything after it. Once you search, all the rest has to be done too. So if you choose not to search, the rest doesn't happen, but if you choose to search, everything else happens, even if you don't find the nimblism in the deck.
Can you justify that based on the CR instead of a subjective reading of the phrasing of the card that's ambiguous at best?
