I feel confident about this ruling however need a better way of clarifying my understanding to others. And yes, I know Hypothermia is suspended/banned now.

In an Iyslander vs. Warrior matchup

Warrior is active player and hits with a weapon (before resolution). Refraction bolters triggers and goes on the stack. Then priority passes to the Iyslander player, they decide NOT to respond to bolters trigger. Warrior resolves bolters by destroying to give Go Again to weapon. Can Iyslander respond to the destruction by playing Hypothermia from arsenal?

Thanksn

Iyslander can play hypo after warrior destroy boots. It isn't exacly respond to destroying.

To be precise:
After resolve of bolters warrior player gain priority and they need to pass it to move to next step. When warrior pass priority iyslander gain priority and can play hypo or other card like blizzard and it will happen before link step.

The part that is hanging people up is.

7.6.4. Third and finally, when the stack is empty and all players pass in succession, the Resolution Step ends and the Link Step begins.

Players passed on layer of bolters not on empty stack

It just seems odd to be given a window of priority after the resolution of a card or ability.

I understand the ruling now. Just is different than my understanding before.

Yes it was empty but players didn't pass on empty stack. I am not sure why judge told you it that way. If it is your local judge you can ask them to contact with us and we woudl explain to them about proper ruling.
