Can you add cards with blocks with 0 defense value, (e.g. pulping, wild ride) to the chain as a 'defending card'?

This cards have not 0 defense (like ball lightning), they have no defense and are no legal targets for Pulsewave harpoon

No as in like cards that dont have the block symbol at all

A card that does not have block at all (as opposed to those that have a block of 0) are not able to be defended with and therefore is not a legal target for harpoon.

So a card with no printed defense value (eg like wild ride) cannot be used to defend in the "defend step" even if the +1p/+1d of "art of war" is active?
