sad story about my bmw e30 320i project

the car wasn’t the best looking, but i spent countless hours working on its internals (the engine). it was an honor to work on it, even though the damage was due to a careless mistake. our goal was a turbo swap, which was actually going pretty well. the car was very promising—we rebuilt everything. but me, being a complete idiot, just forgot to refill the engine oil... well, it started, but it wouldn’t drive. we later figured out that the dual-mass flywheel was missing, so we built that too. the car was finally ready to go.

a few meters in, not thinking about anything else… and then it happened: the engine went bam and sadly, the cylinders said goodbye. it was a great project, and i learned a lot from my mistakes. it was truly an honor to do those 50 meters with you. your brothers will miss you.

Also fun fact, I'm running mine with some other mods, the I4 extra parts one.

It's currently using the 2.0L Block, Mini Camshaft, performance distributor and fuel pump. Rest is stock. It's a decent car with a decent top speed, about 170. It could go higher if I swapped the camshaft for a more powerful one, but I don't want it to chug too much fuel either

part 2 of my bungle e30 story

yesterday evening, i was desperately searching for a mechanic. a few minutes later, a man approached me and said he knew what the problem was and would love to fix it. i loaded the car onto a trailer and drove straight to " @signal mango mechanics." the car stayed there overnight, and the issue was resolved.

now, the car runs perfectly, just like it should—no oil leaks, no problems, and full performance is back. the car is in perfect condition now: fully repainted in black, all rust removed (it’s got over 600k km on it), and the interior is in pristine condition—no stains, no cracks, nothing. it’s super efficient too, truly a car that anyone would have fun with.

big thanks again to @signal mango for the amazing help with the rebuild. the car is officially back on the street!!!

1: no cap for how much coolant i can put in the radiator,
2: Radiator hoses are invisible for the V8
3: The rad support blocks the fill for the Radiator
4: hard to fill up the fuel tank with the jerrycan

It's not a bug sometimes cars will have a different offset from the front and the rear and most of the time you are going to need bigger spacers in the rear then the front

It's the same on the e36
