Yeah, I'd go for an air compressor. Be it a little 5-HP ring-tank type, or a bigger one on a cart.

one idea would be to add an actual air pump function to the compressor (sandblaster) we already have or rework it as an extra item

it wasn't so bad before. It took far less pumps to fill a tire. I'm guessing an air compressor is planned, otherwise it doesn't make any sense to increase the total clicks required to fill a tire.
