All of a sudden, Audacity extended my audio file when I changed from 48k to 41.1k. It adds a minute as if I'm stretching it out. I've tried different projects, turning it off, and rebooting my computer. I haven't deleted it yet or downloaded another version. What can I do?

are you resampling the track via Tracks -> Resample...?

Audacity website won't even let me in. It freezes.

There are two methods of changing the sample rate. One you do via the dropdown in the track itself, which changes the interpretation of the samples and speeds up/slows down the track in the process. The other resamples it, so it keeps the same length but at a different sample rate

Great. How do I do number2?

I looked all over for that. Can't find it.

Yippie! I bow down to you, Wonderful Master! It worked! If I can help you in any way, let me know. The main character in my book is a redhead.

Also, be sure to set the project sample rate in Audio Setup > Audio Settings. The current version of Audacity uses this when exporting

Yes, thank you. I already did that. For the link you sent, which Windows one do I try?
