Is King Derrick better as swordsman or archer?

What is your metric for better?

The reality is he’s not replaceable for siege so you want to use him as sword

He’s a really solid early game archer but he falls off quick anyways in season 2

So objectively I think he’s better as a sword because well we don’t have a siege replacement for him yet but we have like 17 archer replacements for him.

He is primarily for farming, sometimes handy for siege, and arena, so he will be destined as a Swordman 🌤️

I have been saving all my medals for LuBu, upgraded Cav gear and started to research cav merc att boosts in merc camp.

BUT
Here comes Napoleon. He seems like a really cool hero, his kit is complex. I already have 3 star Mulan... I am wondering if I should keep my intention to go for LuBu OR switch to Napoleon.

What stops me from going all in Napoleon is again LuBu... he will be all over the place in s2 and will be my doom until I start seeing some Ramses marches...

What advice can you offer? I am really unable to decide.
I am spending very little for AOEM standarts... so far I have managed to collect 260 medals and 2 star almost every item for my cav leader. Thats why its 1 march for me until maybe s5 when I will be able to go for second march

Basically, let’s say opponent has 100,000 troops. Let’s say you have 2.5% elimination rate and you beat the enemy. That means 2,500 enemy troops die, 10,000 go to hospital, and 87,500 are lightly injured

If you increase your elimination rate, all that does is increase the enemy losses to let’s say, 3,500, 10,000 hospital, and 86,500 are lightly injured.

The time to kill the enemy troop is the same, the damage you take is likely the same, so u just kill more troops

Atilla is a great support, works in Cav and Archers. He is definately a must pick.
Other than Atilla - Mulan (but archers are not in a good spot when s2 starts), Miamoto for swords. Richard and Leonidas are good, but are replaced later in the game, so dont overdo them.

If you really want to optimize and plan ahead, S1 is mostly farming and stockpiling universal medals while getting Atilla to 3 stars. Then go all in when s2 starts 🙂

If you are not patient enough Archers with Mulan, Pikes with Leonidas or Richard and Swords with Miyamoto all work well

How do F2P from servers which get wheel event for hero Lubu only once make him reach 3 to 5 stars? From what I noticed people generally get 40 medals on average for 120 spins from wheel event. And that's not enough to make it event 2 star.

Save every universal hero medal you can get. Pile those. When the pile reaches 400+ choose one hero for main march, go all in to max him

And to be honest maybe the best target is s4 Cyrus as you have time to save.

Also save every mail with advent pulls you get (dont open it). By the time of s4, you will have quite a lot of wheel spins to probably get Cyrus at 3 stars for free.

LuBu is great, but if you want to max a hero, better wait a bit longer and enjoy countering LuBu 🙂

What I can tell you is that, migration is coming soon, we will get news of it in the October dev column which should be here either this week or early next week, along with a "preview" of migration in November.

What is advised is to start scouting for a server you want to move to.

The matchmaking system in this game is very cryptic I have to admit. We each are assigned stellar groups and the stellar groups are based on seasons. So all Season 5 servers will have the chance of being in the same group. Furthermore, it depends on your placing last season, so in general the 1st place stellar folks will get matched with other first place stellar folks. 10th will be matched with 10th. This doesn't always work out, but it general is the case

Skip mulan and Hannibal = you'll have fun with meta warrior pikemen and Swords... Cavalry is great for season 2 with lu bu and he is great in rallies and open field.

“ALSO takes effect when this hero acts as a commander.”

It would be more logical if developers said:
“ONLY takes effect when this hero acts as a commander.”

No. The idea is that this hero as a support (3rd place for example) adds this boost to the commander. And if you place him as the commander it also works

This is what you are looking for in a support hero in the lineup. And the sad part is some supports don't have it

For example LuBu commander, Atilla support. You want Atilla to boost LuBu damage, not his own damage.

Also this is the reason Henry is so bad. He does not have this boosts to the commander (Napoleon) and in the end Napoleon prefers to use a hero of a different specialty in order to get more damage..

This is Timur skill. It matters if he is 2cnd or 3rd

And thus is Rani. You want her at 3rd place so that your commander gets the benefit.

So in those heroes you want to see "boosts commander" text in the talent tree. They are not made to do damage themselves (unless you choose damage skills).

Commander is the first hero in the lineup. He is the only one of the three who uses his first skill

The phrase you gave in the first screenshot means: boosts the first hero. Will also work if this hero is 1st slot (commander)

Doesnt matter if this hero is 2cnd or 3rd, will allways boost the first hero (commander)

And if you look at the 1st skill, you will see why you dont want this hero as a commander - too big of a cooldown on the damage skill and often the damage skill (1st skill) is really bad

This is from Henry's skill tree. He boosts only himself

And you want him to boost Napoleon instead. So the way this should have been is "Increases the commander's damage by x amount"

This alone would have been like 10 perxent damage boost, making Henry an ok choice.

The correct one is using "ALSO" because what they mean is even you use this hero as commander he/she will get this normal atk dmg increase. Not "ONLY' when he/she becomes commander.
Meaning, if you put this hero in 2nd or 3rd position he/she will increase his/her commander. And when this hero act as commander he/she will get this buff also.
