We’d need to know what your gameplay style is to determine which heroes are a “must”. Ashoka and justinian make up the tactician horse march. They are specifically useful to debuff opponents on open field. You pair them with another march to increase damage

If you’re just starting out and want an “all around” approach. You could skip those heroes and the must would be Attila on the season 1 advent wheel and lubu in season 2

Yeah if you focus on cav and pike then you’re on the right track. Barbarossa will get replaced in s3 with mansa but he’s a pretty good deal to hold you over until then

Lubu Attila and rani is slightly better than Lubu GY Attila. But it ultimately depends on how you set up your rings, equipment, gems, etc

There are a few people who still use the tactician cav march up to s4 but most are more lubu focused. If you’re thinking pike, Ashoka is good but the heroes that pair with him won’t come out until s4

The easiest builds are probably pike, cav, sword and then archers. Devs seem to love pikes lol

I’m with @maiden adder on this one, if the devs were not planning on bringing it back they either needed to let people know so that they can spend the tablets or refund them. It is unfair to release a purchasable item which ultimately becomes redundant without prior notice.

ALSO, not seeing a Tac Pikemen in S5

Horses can have 3 skills, line up each hero with 3 skills that they need mostly is the end goal. Start with what you have week 1 unless you are a spender. On the research I'd go to the left for 95% of players playing this game and hold on to the whistles ect
