Armor is typically a bait but ya talent is pretty simple in this game that you don't need a guide because there's like nothing you can really mess up once you know the basics

How do I open a ticket

I can’t buy anything on midasbuy. All my cards have more money than the packs. Called the banks and no problems. They reported no payments were even tried to be made. Only sometimes there is a 1 dollar test and it always successfully passes. I tried to delete my ID and add it again. I added cards, removed all cards, put cards back. Checked my region and currency. Logged out and logged back in. All options resort to failure. I can’t buy anything on midasbuy for some reason. My cards work everywhere else outside of this game. I have tried to contact Catherine in WhatsApp but no response. I can buy packs in the game in the Apple Store in-app purchases with no problem, using the same cards I try on midasbuy. I have a hero commander skill that says it recovers units and in parenthesis says "recovery rate of 215%" ... I have gems that say "increased healing by 2.3%" ... I must be the dumbest guy playing this game as I see nobody asking what the differences are, how they work, etc. I thought I knew but the more I dig the more confused I get.

Also is recovery only pertaining to "since being deployed" vs "this battle only" vs "combat as a whole within X timeframe?" Does it pertain to only lightly wounded units? Gravely wounded? Losses? Surely not.

From what I can tell after spitballing with my own alliance, it appears I misunderstood the "recovery rate %, <stat>" portion. I believe its saying that rate is applied to the stat listed after it and that is the number being recovered. Then I am making an assumption that healing % is applied after this calculation. So in my example it would be 215% * <might/strategy/armor stat> * 102.3% ... If anyone is reading this let me know if this tracks lol.

If it does, I still have the question of which units this applies to or if it doesn't apply to them at all. Are these recovered units just a surplus? (I assume no, that there is a cap) Are these recovered units only lightly, gravely, or lost units? A combination?

Thanks to anyone hanging in there with my 1 brain cell. If this gets answered I have one more similar question regarding defense vs damage reduction lol.

My question on damage reduction includes that latter part: at what point is damage reduction calculated? Before or after armor and defense are calculated? Knowing this greatly effects the value per point of a skill that effects damage reduction.

When two marches face each other without equipment, the troop death rate is always 3%, correct? This is regardless of whether a march has healing skills or not. So, in my perception, the healed troops are the gravely wounded ones because if they were the lightly wounded, the troops would get injured again, and a percentage of lightly would turn into gravely wounded, making the number greater than 3%. I hope this wasn't confusing

I'm struggling to understand this. To start, where are you understanding that base 3% troop death rate? I'm not sure what that is or where you are deriving that. (Asking so I can better find this information).

I also maybe don't understand the true distinction between lightly and gravely wounded troops? You seem to act like "clearly lightly wounded would just get injured again" but I'm genuinely confused why healing a lightly vs gravely wounded soldier matters with respect to hasty reinjury? Hah.

I want to understand so please point me somewhere to read if this information is readily available.

When doing the calculations, note that the proportion of troops at the end of the battle is:
3% dead
20% gravely wounded
77% lightly wounded
This ratio applies to any open field PvP battle and varies if any of the marches have 2-star boots.

In my attempt to explain how the healing work to you, i ended up disagreeing with myself and reached an impasse. In this battle i sent you, one of the troops had a healing skill, while the other did not, yet the ratio remained the same in the end. So, ultimately, it doesn't make a real difference which type is healed, since no wounded troops are usable anyway

Interesting this is very helpful for me to understand. Really appreciate you engaging me on this. As we get to the end of the research tree and obtain some of the more expensive marches it becomes more and more necessary to explain what my skill, hero, gear, and gem pairings are (to myself) beyond the caveman "more defense is just better, more expensive hero pairings are just better" etc.

This has always bothered me with this game but it's becoming more nagging now than ever.

In particular I've had a pretty fun(ish) conundrum trying to understand if Ram is honestly good or not--specifically as a commander. I have a march where I have Ram, Caesar, and Octavian. However Rams commander skill has been pretty wonky for me (that is both related and unrelated to this discussion). I began a discussion with a similarly matched player who has Ram and said he's better as a secondary hero to Caesar (for context my Caesar and Octavian are 5*, Ram is 3* and more geared/skill upgraded). We then discussed more about Ram's ideal March as a commander and it was basically as a super tank with Bushra subbed in for Octavian or Caesar (IMO sub out Octavian here).

I'm rambling but that was what led me down this rabbit whole of what exactly recovery is doing, how and, where in the calculation, is +healing% being calculated and I have similar questions of damage Reduction and +defense%.

3:20:77 ratio regardless as you say which makes me think it just heals any unusable troop but within the same ratio as what is lost in battle.

Until today, I haven't really dived deep into this, most of my marches don't use damage reduction or healing, but I've spent a lot of time thinking about it. In other games, damage reduction is a very powerful mechanic and is usually capped at a certain value because going beyond that basically makes you immortal. Unfortunately, AOEM is always very vague about these things—it feels like the game never left beta, considering how much concrete information we're missing, and that frustrates me deeply.

I saw that you asked where the gem bonuses are applied, and I imagine it's simply a final multiplier. If you have a 10% healing increase from gems, I assume your healing will be 1.1 times more effective. I believe the same logic would apply to other triangular stones, like secondary attack dmg, passive dmg, etc. but this is just my speculation

My thought was what if you lost like 40% of your troops defending Imp City then your troops idle for like less than a second before being attacked again (so basically same battle but the game will fill out at least 2 battle reports) does that seal off the potential recovery of the previous 40% losses? Hah. I assume it would as it sounds like you are.

Like if you had 300% recovery rate on might, and your might was a static 100, and you recovered every 9s... My recovery is capped at 300 units per proc (assuming I have no other modifiers). I'm trying to understand if I have an 8s battle where I lose 300 units followed by a 9s battle where I lost 10 units, is my recovery proc capped at just the 10 from that second battle?

To gain merits you need to participate in PvP. You can gain merits by attacking other players armies in the open field. You can gain by attacking enemy citadels. You can gain by getting attacked yourself.

The best way I have found to gain merits is to get attacked. If you have good troops in your wall, and you get attacked by a rally, you will kill a lot of enemy troops, this will allow you to gain a lot of merits, given you are online and do not let your citadel die
