hi hi I'll put some ocs I'm certain abt in Krat atp

  • Venencio Albrecht - Engineer belonging in an organization named Aribon that aims to fortify and create new and better forms of life. He came to Krat to master puppet making and made M-178

  • M-178, aka Maca - Venencio's helper puppet that's designed for mitigating hazards and damages while he works and studies in Krat, but was separated from her master when the Petrification disease started its outbreak. She's been isolated since then up to the present time, eventually gaining an Ego. One of those that P encounters around the city and they just gradually turn into friends that can resonate with each other as "masterless puppets"

  • Eden Isilang - for now he's only Paracelsus' student who accompanied him in the Krat experiment. He deliberately hid himself from P so he can investigate Krat alone and undisturbed.

Little scenario:

Maca's voicebox is damaged, the sounds coming out come in static and sharp gurgles. The man in blue approaches his friend, kneeling in front of her as the puppet holds her neck.

"Don't— youuu..." Maca attempts to speak, visibly struggling. "Just haate it- it. When this happens..."

Pinocchio is never one to speak, and seeing no need to make a lie out of pity mainly because Maca would often remark how she prefers honesty before anytime when it comes to communication, he shakes his head.

"I do not always encounter this problem, Maca. I do not talk as much as you do."

That made the puppet chuckle in statics.

"Ohh! Righ— iit. And your voice-box. Is different now." Maca muses, reaching her hands out to her friend to caress his neck. Thumbs feel over by the throat.

Pinocchio's brows would furrow, knowing well that Maca is harmless he still couldn't help but find the situation, odd, to say the least. The last time this happened was when hands looked for his heart and not his voicebox. Maca smiles as she pulls her hold away, pointing at where her damaged box is.

"Youu. Say you are human. Thus that— that. Is called... Larynx!" Maca grins at Pinocchio.

That makes me wonder if P would feel like Maca is more human than he is bc of her programmed emotionality being able to imitate a range of human experiences better

He's learning, he can learn more from Maca as well, but he still has to consciously react to it in which Maca can do it instantly

#

But I think the biggest drawback would be that Maca can't develop a restraint for it. Her attitude won't change by picking up social cues because it's hard wired that the input she receives should give a certain response.

Like whenever she's entertained, she can't turn the excitement off and would still keep her guard down until she notices danger then she's immediately ‼️ scare!

So there can be instances of Maca staying worried for hours fixing up P's arm or some parts and won't calm down until it's fully complete. P having to snatch this puppet girl away because he can tell a puppet is attacking but it looks like it's doing tricks so she's just clapping and happy

Venencio knew a lot of women who took care of him as a stray orphan, and so he designed Maca after the type of pretty he could recall those women wanted to have. Silky hair like chestnuts except this man didn't know what chestnuts were so he made it straight

#

The little diamond between where the center of her collarbones should be is her heart/P-organ, to which Ven simply calls the Core, and it's supposed to have a cover where small wires are hidden only to be exposed during her survival in the massacre

The cracks are worn out paint, chipped off and all. I considered adding dents on her face but I thought that she probably would've never let that happen at all

#

Comparing the Core to the P-Organ:

  • the Core absorbs Ergo very poorly that it may as well not have that feature at all, mainly because Venencio didn't design it to do that and never really thought about it
  • P-Organ is in the shape of an anatomically accurate heart whereas the Core is a small prism. The Ergo is more condensed than the average puppet, I'm still thinking abt its effects
  • Mako's eyes reflect her Ergo bc I'm planning that her Ergo might have a different color

  • he has no right eye, but instead of putting prosthetics he instead covers it over with a headgear that holds:

    • three magnifying lenses that he can just turn over his left eye to look at small and intricate details in chemicals, organic materials, and clockworks in puppets and machines.
    • a flashlight where his right eye should be with a lens that can be detached as the smallest magnifier

  • his neckpiece between his collar is a smooth jade hugged around by a snake made of gold, an exclusive gift from his organization Aribon

  • his vest is very durable but also a remade design of a vest gifted by his closest friend

  • his gauntlet made by a bunch of puppet hands, after tinkering over puppet parts he saw around the ruined Krat that puppet fingers are flexible and durable, so he put that to good use. Added some engineering that can help him carry heavy loads, mainly his weapon

  • He named his weapon the "Decommissioner" as it's mainly used against puppets. It's a motivity type weapon but he just had to add the electroshock mechanism that he can trigger that will spread throughout both blades

Is she a good medic tho? Probably not, she's ur emergency nurse that has no anesthesia and prioritizes stability and efficiency over comfort

Bc chances are he had to kill Meran to give him peace. Aribon themselves doesn't approve of these carcasses as fitting for evolution but they didn't say a thing until Simon's downfall

So for Ven, Meran as a carcass is both a disdain of his organization and a violation of his friend's wishes to find peace in death

From the start he's been utilizing puppet parts, let's say he made this amalgamation of a blunt weapon made from puppet scraps and other lost parts survivors lost on the way

Main problem was that they were easy to fall apart so most of the time it constantly changes, he needed to look for the factory to get a decent weapon and so that was his first destination

#

Ven would tell nobody abt how Krat in ruins feels more like home for him because his childhood wasn't it without ruins and chaos in his environment. This guy thrived in scarcity

#

I like to think he met Survivor before his death and through Survivor did he get more info abt the puppet frenzy story

He wouldn't have enough hints to consider the grand covenant as a big hint of the puppet frenzy, so he instead thinks it's because of their Ergo that had "gone bad"

#

So one part of his plan with that theory was to decommission his own creation, Maca, once he finds her. So he can make M-179 that wouldn't be corrupted like the puppets in Krat

Eden was born from Adigris Islands. Orphaned at a young age, though he used to constantly insist that his mother could still be found despite her being confirmed to have died. Often feeling misunderstood and never belonging anywhere, he used to always run away from the orphanage that always tried taking care of him, but Eden insists that he can thrive on his own alone. He was eventually allowed to have privacy he wanted but to an extent that he made himself a hermit; never showing up to anyone and never seen anywhere else, only returning to the orphanage or the library once in a while to borrow resources to study. Based on the manuscripts and books he's borrowed, they were often about alchemy, philosophy, and medicine.

Eden... Could've been a normal child, if he had only thought that staying in the orphanage was something that also could've helped him grow past his grief of losing his mother. But the life of isolation prevented him from growing up and out of it, years spent on reading and applying the things he's learned just because he can, became the only thing he knows what to do.

Everyone including the orphanage simply labelled Eden as a "riddled child"; he was odd, unassuming, and wouldn't stop speaking in riddles, presumably from the texts he's been reading, or perhaps something else he does when he's all alone. Eden always looked fine and healthy, thus nobody questioned much of how and what he eats. As if the child could answer that anyway, he barely even eats. Eden conducted these experiments and put himself along on the line, not really guided enough of what he could and couldn't put in his body; coincidentally enough, part of what he's been gathering for his experiments were pieces of Ergo, or an organic material related to Ergo (information subject to revision).

Far before Paracelsus would be assigned to capture Dorothy and eventually conduct the Krat experiment, he was tasked to investigate Adigris first and its existence of a form of energy similar to Ergo. He encounters Eden who was more willing to share the things he's learned. The fact that the boy has kept zero connections from anyone in his hometown just bc he wanted to be left alone made it easy for him to be convinced to join in as he's the one who has both firsthand experience with the ergo-like energy and experimental skills he honed for himself

Chapter 2: Anger is necessary.

Parts:

  1. Trigger gears that set the Decommissioner into Locked and Unlocked mode:
    • Locked - Finalizer (4) is retracted, no electrical charge is present. The end of the weapon is utilized to lock and sever puppet limbs and parts efficiently.
    • Unlocked - Finalizer is present and the Decommissioner is charged with strong electrical output. Immediately sets back into Locked mode after one hit.

  1. Battery that stores electric charge to be used for Unlock mode.

  2. Inward smooth blades that cuts through most materials. Effective when used with Puppets' Gauntlet with its ability to enhance force output.

  3. Finalizer spikes that shows and retracts depending on the mode. Used for penetrating most materials while sending out a strong electrical charge.

  4. Serrated blades that can break through most materials. Can send out electrical charges during Unlocked mode. Tearing hard materials is more effective when used with Puppets' Gauntlet.

  5. Recharger which spreads and receives electrical charge.

    • Unlocked mode activates the Recharger which spreads currents around the blades and the Finalizers.
    • Receives electrical recharges from Electric Blitz Grindstones and over-repairing the Decommissioner with a regular grindstone.
    • Renders the Decommissioner incompatible with any other types of grindstones besides the two mentioned.

  • The Decommissioner stands at 5'3"ft tall.
  • Invented by Venencio Albrecht during his time of stay in Venigni works.
  • The weapon is made after Venencio's lost of an ally the Survivor, in which he also names after Survivor's conviction in eliminating all puppets.
  • The Decommissioner comes in two versions: The first Decommissioner would be destroyed by Pinocchio, forcing Venencio to make a second version.
  • Venencio would later discard the Decommissioner to turn it into a weapon that's efficient against Carcasses.

Ability: Strength enhancer

      *One great thing about humanity is vengeance albeit its repulsively awarding taste. Beside mangled corpses laying around the streets of Krat were also puppet parts, destroyed in various ways and left to rust. For Venencio, they should still be reused until Krat can rest in peace.*

Parts:

  1. Hollow puppet hand turned into a wearable glove, secured from the inside for the wearer's hand to be able to absorb shock and stress at a significantly higher rate. The rubber that binds each limb together is enhanced for stronger grip.

  2. "Focused on duty" puppet hands, wrapped around the forearm. Specific devices are installed inside that powers up strength to pick up heavy objects and enhance force output. Resistant against electroshock effect.

  3. Open metal sleeve to enlarge the gauntlet size.

  4. Shock-resistant material that fills up the whole gauntlet and securely wraps around the wearer's hand. Due to this part, it can take minutes to both equip and unequip the gauntlet.

  • Created to pair with the Decommissioner.
  • All parts are sourced from Venigni works, explaining Venencio's stay in the factory for a few days even after Survivor's passing.
  • Can be used alone to move heavy debris.

Sona: Yvon Cui & Azazel Iscariot

Yvon Cui is a member of the Alchemists and one of the trusted and closest peers of Geppetto. She knew and loved Carlo like a nephew, and at some point she internally blamed herself for thinking she infected Carlo with the Petrification Disease. Because of this she's motivated to help Geppetto get Carlo back.

Azazel is the Vitro Vessel, the very first prototype of an Ergo-absorbing puppet. When it was successful, Geppetto started to work on P's design. One night, Azazel awakened, an Ego of his own realizing his purpose and his position as a puppet of the Alchemists. He realized the state of his creator was slowly dying from the disease. After three days, Yvon Cui succumbed to the disease, and the vitro vessel was forced to try and process grief as its first emotion.

Geppetto kept a promise for Yvon; a final experiment of whether or not transferring raw Ergo would result in a "rebirth" of sorts. Geppetto didn't believe that, and instead put Yvon's Ergo into Azazel's P-Organ to instead test the device's endurance. It was a success, and so Geppetto completed P certain that things will go to plan.

Geppetto abandoned Azazel afterwards, leaving the puppet in a state of intact crisis wherein his Awakened state is clashing against the Ergo of his own creator. Is he Azazel or is he Yvon?

Trivia:

  • Yvon's surname, Cui, rooted back from a wealthy family clan hailing from the East. Yvon was not her original name, nor was it ever remembered anymore.
  • Azazel is named after the demon who was made a scapegoat to bear the sins of masses. This aspect reflects the puppet's future crisis of bearing and handling his awakened Ego against his creator's Ergo.
  • Azazel's surname Iscariot reflects his indirect inspiration from Judas Iscariot, a reference in his personality and fate.

  • Distinct Features : Silver curly hair with bluish highlights, light blue eyes, often wearing green-tinted eyeglasses, large coats, and a scarf.

  • Personality :

        Eden is best described as an enigmatic man, calm yet eccentric and often confident with his usual lax poise. He often talks in riddles and has tendencies to speak in rhetoric and ask questions unwarranted. 
    He can sometimes come off as amoral to which he tries to compensate by inquiring contexts in situations and asking about the moral grounds of people.

  • Background :

        *"There are many forms of eternal life",* and one such curious example would be Eden. Throughout centuries of humankind, those who revered in the presence of life in death followed faith for eternity. 

    Such a gross fate for a boy who was misled to believe that if he were to take in a Listener's Ergo, his longevity will be proof of his purity. One of the two secrets only Eden himself knows, as the second one would be the count of Ergo he has taken for himself over time.

    His longevity that was once enjoyable for him soon became a hindrance, then a scare. Soon enough the boy would embrace isolation and become a hermit that focuses on nothing but what made him this way; what made life so alive despite being taken away.

     How did Giangio discover him? He claims he was simply "rescued", and since then Eden kept himself under the man's tutelage, hiding the truth of his age while somehow keeping Giangio's interest piqued about Eden's attitude with life, death, rebirth, and eternity, as well as an indifferent willingness to help him achieve his goal with little benefits in mind.
