Crow has always been very…. Eccentric! He’s pretty hyperactive, often behaves in a peculiar manner, and tends to say / laugh at things at inappropriate times which often makes people uneasy around him despite his good intentions

Crow to came from a pretty wealthy family (not the wealthiest but they have like a nice property and can afford many puppet manservants ect ect) SOOOO they sent him to the charity house in hopes he’d become the next big thing; an architect maybe… or another great inventor…. regardless they sent him off expecting something great from him and expected him to continue his studies into college

but halfway through his third year, both of his parents fell ill and eventually fell victim to the petrification disease, orphaning Crow

he was rejected by the stalkers for being unable to wield a weapon and felt the workshops wouldn’t provide him any solace, so he ran away to become a soldier outside of Krat and DESPISED IT OF COURSE

so he did what any sane man would……. he deserted 🧎… and when he finally got back to Krat it was in shambles

he’s been pretending to be a stalker ever since, surviving in this new mad world that’s been presented to him

AND THEN HIS FUNCTION

his function in game is to provide more lore / context for P 😼
so I’d imagine P’s first meeting with him very early game, maybe as early as Elysion Boulevard, and that’s when you get his first set of dialogue

*"Now this is truly a story worth writing.... Geppetto's puppet in the flesh-- er... in the... Nevermind. Still, I know a rich tale when I see one and * you.... you have quite the story to tell, carino. Say, one storyteller to another, gossip pays more than you'd think in these parts. Keep that in mind for when we meet again."
He'll appear later on near Moonlight Town, and he'll inform you of any side quests you've missed and give you dim ergo fragments in exchange for notes and newspapers. If you talk to him afterwards, he'll give you a little bit more context, lore, or even bring about his own opinion on whatever you sell him.
"Do be careful, carino. Not everyone appreciates a crowd."
Famous last words for Crow, as that's the last time P will see him until the Barren Swamp.
"Hey, carino! You're a long way from home... I suppose a good story will lead you astray before reeling you back in for the finale. Perhaps that's how I've landed myself here... (He chuckles) I'll be sad when your story comes to an end. How about one more? For old times sake?"
P has a choice to let him speak or to continue on. If he chooses to say yes, Crow will give him a copy of The Mischievous Puppet, this time with a name signed on the inside of the cover: Carlo.

Yessssss man saw the military and said "this sucks" and became a deserter like good people do 🫡 . So does he return to the city after the frenzy? Or how did he manage to pretend to be a stalker when the organizations were fully-functional 👀 that sounds like it would've been really difficult, but in a cool way! Sounds like a smart dude. I think it's cool that he can provide more information for P. How did he have that signed copy? did he know Carlo, perhaps while they were both in school? 👀

Crow returned to Krat as the frenzy was already happening ! so i’d imagine the longer it went on, the less organized the stalker organization would become as they die off which would let him disguise himself :)

not to mention he doesn’t exactly make himself known to the whole organization; his function as a person is an informant so even if someone did know he was making his stalker title, he’s much too valuable to be killed

and i’m not sure how he managed to get the signed copy of the book! he finds treasures all around Krat so it was probably just something he picked up and didn’t pay much mind to it until he learned more about P and his situation !

i’m sure he knew of Carlo Geppetto during his time at the charity house, but i don’t think he was friends with him

he’d be more likely to befriend Romeo, and even then it would be more like they’re just friendly with each other :)

All jokes aside, he’s really interesting, and I’d love to hear more about him! Does he influence the events of P’s goingson with Aurelia, Lucio and Lynx? 👀 or is he more informant dude. Pops in and out. Mostly minds his business?

he’s more of an informant ! his function would be to give more lore / context to everything happening around the player and can even give hints to where hidden treasures may be or upcoming bosses heheheheh

he only asks that you give him something of equal value before he gives you that information; ”A piece of yourself for a piece of someone else…”

he doesn’t find a lot of use for ergo so sometimes he’ll gift P some if brought a rare trinket (even toyed with the idea of getting a quartz from him if you find something like a portrait of his family and bring it back to him)

but mainly collectibles since that’s the players way of communicating ! i like the idea too of P learning a new emote and its called “Secret” and just looks like he’s whispering into someone’s ear :)

i’m getting ahead of myself !! BUT YEAH collectibles would be P’s way of getting information !! everyone else would have to give him some other information, could be of themselves or of someone else, but it has to be of equal value to whatever Crow is going to give them
