Let's see how these forums work in discord!

can we keep blackbox tuning to the current channel?
Or here only (if this format is better)....just not both
I was thinking to eventually make a "forum" for tuning. If this channel format works?
That's how they call this new format of channels
yeah...if you think its a better format lets give it a go
the main issue I think is keeping track of seperate support requests
]and also, if we could mandate a fixed approach to asking for help, like minimum information required that would be cool
most of the time its similar issues
Yeah the new forums should allow people to find similar questions answered already without nessesaty of reading through a bunch of unrelated comments in the mix
Fixed approach for support issues is nice, we have it on GitHub. Here maybe let's keep it a bit more free ) in the rules tho AI is asking people for blackbox, diff, dump, versions etc
Who is AI?
I don't trust albert
Great, once we teach ChatGPT to be sassy and trolly, then I'm truly out of a jerb here
it ought to have said "good luck noob"
It's implied.

Rooster Crowing Compilation Plus 2016
Love what you do , do what you love.
I Dream. I Do .
Made this video take approximately 3 years time.
This video used 35 different roosters crowing sounds in the past 3 years, and all sounds are different. A free nature alarm clock.
Your like, share and subscribe is my motivating.
All rooster crow...
somehow people are scared to make forum posts and still using regular support channel lol
Well, in all fairness, this is basically a private discussion and kinda hilarious. I wouldn't want to ruin it (more than I already have)
see how fast I get a reply...thanks
cuck

We're rapidly approaching the post quality of FB groups with nonstop 'thanks for the add' posts in public groups
i did not get if its good or bad lol
Is google indexing these forums at all? Else it’s kind of a knowledge graveyard. :/
Google cannot scrape discord channels
I'm wondering if there would be a way to automate specific things, since sometimes some actual useful stuff comes through here
chatGPT 🙂
Also we should have a wiki page for each configurator page. This way we can all contribute to knowledge on each topic.
Only firmware flasher has a distinct page, other tabs point to the general wiki.
not any different than Slack.
But here it actually pretty cool, cuz once you try to create a new forum post it suggests you a few that are close to your message.
so its not a graveyard as long as we stay in discord )
You can’t find these answers via Google though.
That’s a cool feature indeed. But comparison to Slack seems not helpful, since Slack is just as badly suited for a forum.
These companies try to keep you in their systems and never make you leave - as leaving means losing so much knowledge. But then not only is the content not globally findable, but also you probably cannot export it into a searchable archive when discord dies or makes very unfortunate decisions. (Look at how twitter suffers from a certain billionaire. Platform dependence is nothing to take lightly.)
This isn't to "keep users in their platform", this is basic privacy
It'd be impossible for Google to safely index every discord channel while going off discord role permissions
Same as slack we used before, so what's the alternative?
An actual forum. Can also use GitHub discussions as the repo is there.
Yeah try to ask regular beginners to use GitHub discussions )
