Hi I just purchased the hyde y70 case in taro milk with the matching touch infinite screen. With it fully plugged in correctly my pc wont turn on at all, but as soon as the stat cable and usb are unplugged my pc turns on the touch screen flashes on for a second then off again. Did I get the wrong case for my motherboard?

pc specs
motherboard: ROG STRIX Z790-E gaming wifi
power supply: ROG-THOR-1200P2-GAMING

Id need a video of your PC failing to turn on or turning on for a split sec to confirm

Sorry for the late reply and the crappy video but I hope this helps.

I saw bios codes flashing on your motherboard

random sapphire
# blissful holly How long did you let it try to turn on

I've let it sit on for a while and it will only light up nothing else. Should I let it sit on for over 30 mins and see if it does something then?
I can also freely use the touch screen with it plugged into the type c to the back of the case but its flipped sideways and can't use my actual monitor with it plugged in that way.

Or which codes repeat

#

Then cross reference with your motherboard manual and that will give you a clue to what's wrong with your system

# blissful holly Pay attention to what bios code is left on once it settles

it doesn't pop up a code with the stat cable plugged in, the first part of video was showing you my pc turning on with it not plugged in, the time I plugged it in with the stat cables is what my pc does with the infinite screen completely plugged in, it makes the pop sounds and motherboard shows nothing.

I'm currently on my pc replying to you with the touch screen unplugged, it works like normal but the second you plug the stat cable in my pc wont power on at all.

Oh sorry I misunderstood the context of the video since I didn't watch it with sound on

#

Its likely a bad cable then

#

Where did you get the y70 screen from?

random sapphire
# blissful holly Its likely a bad cable then

see I thought that to so I purchased a second screen and used that cable and neither work so I have two sets of the touch infinite here, both purchased from amazon, neither screen works when plugged in using the stat cable provided.

Did you try a different sata cable?

#

Or connector

I assume you made sure that the 2nd cable is indeed compatible with your PSU

#

Another thing I just thought of is maybe it's a short on the USB header part of the display cable

#

Try plugging just the sata in without the usb

I think my motherboard just doesnt like when the sata cable is plugged in, I tried to turn it on without the usb plugged in and it wouldn't turn on but I'm on it right now with everything plugged in but the sata cable, usb is plugged into motherboard currently.

#

Could I possibly need a new power supply?

blissful holly
#

Its really hard for me to say whats causing the issue

#

Your PSU not turning the pc on is definitely a safety measure of some sort

#

do you have any other Sata devices in your PC?

random sapphire
blissful holly
#

Could be something wrong with the sata power delivery in the psu

#

but before you do anything with that

#

Do you have a USB A to C cable rated for usb 3 speeds?

If you're having connectivity issues with your included USB C to 2.0 header/SATA, you may substitute the cable using a USB A to C cable rated for transferring data at USB 3 speeds. You'd plug the Type C into the display and the Type A into one of your motherboards' USB 3 ports or into the front panel of your Y70.

blissful holly
#

if you do you can bypass the psu in powering the screen by using a usb 3 port to power the screen directly

if youre just going to use it to verify your 2 screens work then it can be any length, (just make sure A to C, C to C will not work)

#

If you want to use it permanently you can have it route through the case which would be about 1.8m iirc

Press Win + P, make sure its set to extend
