#what CPU water blocks are people using for their AMD 5 ryzen 7000 series?

hmmm im pretty some high end fan coolers could work for the amd 5 but i think your safer doing water cooling
see i bought a ryzen 9 5950x and im replacing my standard stock fan with a water cooler
AM4 will work but with a pretty big caveat. They will only work if they use the stock mounting plate, or if the vendor has released an AM5 replacement back plate.
The reason for this is the stock mounting plate on AM5 retains the LGA mounting bracket now which the AM4 stock plate did not need to do that. If you remove the stock mounting bracket, then the LGA retention goes with it.
I believe some companies were working on an LGA retention standalone bracket, but haven't looked much into it outside of the initial compatibility issues.

I'm using this with the 7950x. I had to purchase an am5 adapter bracket.
that's the trick of it for me. knowing if I need a adapter or not. the ones I've looked at don't say one way or the other.
basically, the AM5 motherboards won't work with anything that used a backplate in the AM4
the backplates just straight up won't fit
you can usually ID if it has a backplate looking at the amazon listings
(or it will need a new adapter specifically for am5, which most will have, you will just have to find it)
Noctua is very good about releasing updated hardware for old coolers to make them still compatible
In they past they offered those brackets free with proof of purchase within X months of release
So check into that if you have an old (or newer) Noctua cooler you want to continue using
Most cpu blocks from am4 will work with am5 keyword most it just drpends on what cpu block and how it is designed
