#Revolt 3

anyone cram a 7900 xtx in their revolt 3 yet? I am thinking about swapping out my 2080s for one
The reference card fits just fine, but some of the AIB cards are using 4090 coolers so they will be too big
cry-ang
with the gigabyte 7900 xtx elite I was thinking of honestly just 3d printing a spacer for the front panel
I'm not even sure if that card can fit into the front section of the case
since that card is super squared off, it might not clear the front pillar of the case
Do you mean the corner or the top frame piece?
The problem with the gigabyte card is the height/thickness of the card
Plus that’s what angle grinders are for 😎
I’ve done it once and I’ll do it again
(What you can’t see are the drilled out rivets to allow the aio to sit in there)
honestly both. lemme see if I can find a card as similar in size as possible to test
I think the squared off nature of the 7900 xtx elite and 69mm thickness is going to be very preventative here
Asrock 6900xt phantom gaming was the largest card I was able to fit without any modifications
- 330 x 140 x 56 mm
the "attic" of the case has a bit that will restrict the width of any card longer than about 300mm at that point
It’s actually applying pressure against the side of the case and a tad diagonal
nothing an angle grinder and modeling paint can't fix
the 7900xtx elite is a few mill smaller on the side so that might be fine
that entire corner will have to be gone though still I think :/
Is the front io connector on the revolt 3 the same as the y60?
Im fairly certain yeah
yes its the same combo connector as the other cases
nice
Anyone try a Katana 5 Cooler inside of their Revolt 3?
The 5th generation of KATANA cooler has an asymmetric design offering unlimited compatibility. Upgraded with E.C.M.S II mounting system and new Kaze Flex 92mm fan ensure simple installation and good thermal performance.
Theoretically would fit...
I know Silver Soul 135 from Thermalright would fit - but it seems like a good trade between the two.
Currently running a Dark Rock TF though.
Anyone managed to fit a 4080/90 into the revolt🤣
From what I am gathering the FE might have a chance
probably not recommened 😅
doubt it
figured 🤣
But cable mod has that 180 degree adapter, so if it’s the power cables causing issues, it might be mitigated now
hence the 2 other posts
That sounds plausible
They are a bit different in that they use silicone sleeved cables, not that adapter, but yeah I agree the idea is the same
Hi, i used a 90 degree adapter for the hdmi output from my rtx 3080 but it caused signal lost sometimes… thought about getting „foots“ for some space under my revolt 3. how did you guys managed this?
Anyone able to fit a Noctua 3070 in a revolt 3?
The Hyte Revolt 3 is almost perfect, but I have some criticisms
Literally if some minor changes were made, it would be utter perfection
I'll list my critiques later when I rip my build apart
I've even "modded" the case in line with a particular criticism
That being the hard drive cage
The hard drive cage not being removable limits the thickness of radiators that can be installed, namely the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280mm
I personally dremelled the cage out to fit this radiator, but if it were removable by default, it would be super useful for not only larger radiators, but also cable management etc
Here is the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280mm with the hard drive cage removed
Adding official support for 2x80mm slim fans on the top would also be a nice improvement. Lots of people including myself have included 2 with minor elbow grease
I also plan on 3d printing a PCIe bracket to deshroud my GPU and 2x140mm fans to the third slot for improved thermals
I really think the removable hard drive cage should be the largest revision, as the industry is truly pivoting to thicker radiators, HYTE themselves are too lol
I'll post more nit-picks later

Just finished putting together the Revolt 3 w/ the PSU... anyone else's PSU have this whistling coil whine on a low-mid load, the coil whine starts around 2 secs, you can hear the load gets higher around 13 secs.
I reached out to hyte's online support last week. They still haven't responded to me 🥲
I dunno for sure but at least with how the audio is coming in the video sounds more like a dragging ball bearing like as if the bearing on the fan is out-of-tolerance.
I of course would never recommend you to open up a PSU unless you know how to do so safely (making sure capacitors are fully discharged, etc). But I would have tried to replace the fan to see if that worked.
Yeah it does sound like the bearings but it only happens when there's a load, once the load is down it goes away which leads me to think it's a "coil whine" and not fan related
I requested an RMA on it. It's a new case/PSU, so not going to mess with it (for now).
I also tested the same components on another new revolt 3 case w/ PSU and the "noise" was much less. So definitely a PSU issue.
Oh wow my brand new Revolt has this exact problem. Any problems getting that RMA?
The buzzing sounds electrical and not mechanical and also only happens under load
my revolt3 case with psu came with only one pci-e cable, anyone know which type i need to order to replace? There appear to be a couple of different pinouts available on amazon. thermaltake appears different than corsair, etc.
You will need to first find the OEM of the psu and then try to go from there to determine which power supplies have the same manufacturer for a "likely will work fine" option. Don't use Corsair cables with non-Corsair power supplies because Corsair tells their OEMs their specific pinouts.
the psu is hyte, the one that came with the case.
I cant find hyte PSU specific cables
Yes. But Hyte doesn't manufacture their own PSUs so you'll have to try to find the OEM that built it for them and see if you can find PSU units that have the same OEM.
Even then... I would if possible test any "best guess" cables on some older hardware you can afford to lose before testing it on what will go into your final build... just in case the cable you got is the incorrect pinout
I'll pull a spare GPU out of storage to test. I guess I could just order a couple of them and then do a side-by-side comparison to the hyte one, then test on a spare 7950 or something. Thanks. I'm surprised I can't order the pcie cable direct from hyte. Reaching support has been so far impossible 😐
just saw this sorry, did you purchase the system new, and if so, which retailer did you get it from?
the power supply should have come with 2 separate GPU power cables, one with a single 6 + 2 and one with dual 6 + 2
if you purchased the case new, I would contact the retailer about this
I bought it new from Newegg. Was just looking to buy a cable rather than exchange the case from the retailer because I already built the system. It was with a 3060 at first while waiting for its final gpu, so I didn’t notice the missing pcie power cable until the new gpu came in 🤦 there are tons of different pcie cables on Amazon but none specifically for the sfxl-a700gd-ibp
Mine was missing the dual 6+2 or I’d be ok 🙂
Necro-ing this thread. But what would you recommend 240mm or 280mm aio for 5700x3D?
im finally building in this thing. i bought it for a build in 2023 but ended up going with another case. sold that pc and building a new one in the revolt.
