the problem at elden ring is that there isnt much variety, i realy dont like how complicated some armors are, too much details and disconected pieces that make you look less human and weak there are headpieces that makes no sense they were not supposed to fit anyones head, some armors have designs that make your body look weird, elden ring does not have high poligons nor best graphics its still at ps4 era there is no needs for details that will make people look to armor more then they should, you need to make clean and straight designs, i wish the armors can get wrecked and and lose some pieces( that will make it look in a great way ) more you play , there was a time radhans armor was looking bad and dirty i thought because i didnt clean it with soup item i had in inventory lol, we also need to be able to do more than alterin but also giving armors different capes from other armors, changing colors of armor, making our own banner, using a rare and earned item to use another armor that is strong and give its attributes to armor you want to use at your playthrough, it can be soo different and fun to work on, having minigames at a major game is a great idea

But according to Miyazaki, he has yet to create his ideal game, so we'll see what the future holds.

elden ring is the prime, there is no above this, even soo that when they tried to make game harder with dlc they litteraly made it way less fun and fair, miyazaki either needs to reinvent entire formula that it can be finnaly more challenging and more fun or needs to go for something else like Hideo Kojima did

I don't believe I'm good enough of a game director/game designer to judge this. In fact, I don't work in the business at all, hence I will not say whether Elden Ring is at the peak of the formula or not.

The way I see it, there are plenty of things that can be done with the formula to improve it. It's not about difficulty at all. In fact, I believe players have a warped sense of what difficulty even is in the first place and what it's supposed to do within the context of any given game.

Or, more precisely, I don't have the developer expertise to say what Miyazaki "needs to do". From what I can tell, starting at Demon's Souls all the way to Elden Ring, every game that came out in the line did some things better and some things worse. But what they all have in common is good balance.

more humble point of view, but trust me japanese game studios are the ones who are mostly more stubborn others are mostly untalanted, the reason i think the way i do is because of dlc itself is full of flaws and litteraly 5 steps back from what base game succeded, which is odd almost every dlc that fromsoft made was a upgrade it was solving the mistakes previous games made and were giving way more refine and better content, when i see what happened at dlc i started to believe in that way and with armored core 6, i think they realised that too, they even cannot deny the backlash and first time the backlash had some actual basis rather than people giving up too early

The fact that there's people out there who beat Promised Consort literally without blessings, levels or armor tells me that any player of any skill level can find a way to beat them. And so it goes for every other boss and enemy.

it is possible to beat them that way, the problem is if you look at the gameplay this is no longer the way souls boss fights functioned, the main mechanic dodging is litteraly being avoided by most, people rather do this instead
run from areal attack
hit
run again until he finishes the combo
hit
dodge a few then run again
thats the litteraly most " no hit runners " do, ( or do what i did tried and some no hit runners and try parry lock the boss and kill him that way which i almost succeded at no hit but eventually choosed to role rather to run )and its boring as hell it is required high amount of skill but tbh at this point its unfair and not a actual fight but just watchign a animation happening

i even tried deflection mechanic and if the final boss did not have attacks that is extremly confusing and made areal damage which made deflecting useless, i could have no hit radhan, i was be able to no hit first phase with deflecting but they made it soo dam bad that its no longer logical ( turns out some pros realised that if you stick to his left leg more the boss cannot hit you when you dodge it, i didnt knew that lol and its an obvious design flaw )

I am not shy. I just think that every new iteration of the classic Souls formula tries out something different. It is important to remind yourself that the adventurous open nature and frantic major boss fights of Elden Ring are confined to that game only and that it is possible that, in another game, parts of this won't be present. The same goes for most other aspects of any of the games. The trend went to progressively quicker combat and Elden Ring takes the cake, which is why I believe it is reasonable to expect that a future game will slow it down again.

I think it's dependant on the game. If a future game is designed differently, we can expect combat to be different. Bloodborne combat is still my favourite but I liked DS1's slow and strategic approach as well.

It depends on the tone the game sets whether or not it feels good.

Agreed with this explanation and the former. There isn't a variable combination within Elden Ring that's truly diverse in its utility, it ranges from fitting to one armor set which usually the set where its originated from, or a few several sets that somewhat shares its base color to not look that out of place when combined.

I previously wanted to create a Paladin look that doesn't rely on the Greathelm or Leyndell and Haligtree's surcoat/armors. And even the Twinned Armor is not an option in my eyes due to it belonging to an NPC that's specifically made for the character, and doesn't thematically fit our Tarnished since vanilla-wise, D carries the only one - While I wanted an armor that's completely unique to our Tarnished, which is almost abyssal sans our starter armor being our only armor that's unique to us in most cases like the Vagabond class.

It's quite a shame honestly. Especially when they had the right idea with the Altering system, but failed to polished and further expands its uses.

I quite like the concealment that most of the armor in-game has. I didn't recognized that Crucible Knight Siluria is a woman until managing to receive her armor and read its lore descriptions. This game placed a lot of ambiguity in its world from both its writing and design, it's all a matter of earning your keep instead of strictly sticking to gender roles. Basically you just find what’s becoming popular, determine if the market for that design is oversaturated or not, and make somthing similar or original, but inspired

And sell through print on demand platforms like printify or printful and link your shop to stores like Etsy.

The armors funny tho. My siblings tell me it’s too much, but like, for something I’ve always wanted since I was little, it’s pretty worth it. Especially compared to the thousands they spend consuming al**hol and n*cotine

Yep! I just opened an Etsy shop but have yet to do any listings. I’ll start by making stuff for this Halloween / election. You can totally do it!!!! Just look up Etsy Print on Demand on YouTube and go down the rabbit hole!

The good thing is all you have to do is design art. All the shirts, mugs etc are handled and shipped by POD businesses like Printify.
