Same as ds3, they cant see anything above their current highest upgrade. So if they have a longsword+5 and you drop a longsword+6 they wont see it, but 5 and below they will. And it seems to be separate checks for somber smithing weapons too. so if they never upgraded a somber wep, they wont see it even if they have a longsword +5(regular smithing stone)

I feel elden ring is actually easier than dark souls to do multiple playthroughs. The open world lets you hunt for the pieces of a new build from the get go instead of playing a gimped version of what you want for the first 10 hours.

If I’m a cleric I don’t have to wait till late game to get damaging spells. Just jeed to make it to round table hold. If I’m playing an arcane (luck) build, I can be in working order from step one since there is a reduvia in the starting area

Especially as a Hybrid, this game feels very enjoyable to play. You can (almost, usually) get the scaling yoy need right of the bat. Want to be a paladin? Sacred blade north of the church of marika. Want to be a sorcerer spellsword? Just find rogiers sword. Unlike ds3 where you needed to reach anor londo to get chaos infusions as a pyro build.

off topic but if there's anyone else that plays TBOI here, I got a cool mod concept! based mainly on Elden ring, it just adds Ranni and The Tarnished as characters

i just had an idea, Ranni the witch starts with quad shot, and shoots tech x shots from each of her hands, so they can cover almost the entire room, the caviot here is Ranni can only have soul hearts, Red hearts are converted into runes that you can use at the start of each floor to increase the size of the rings, or, increase your stats, damage speed ect, so if Ranni goes into the next floor with about 5 red heart charges, or the equivalent to 500 runes, which will let you get a tier one upgrade, Ranni also has a synergy with Tech X where she shoots about 5 shots, one big tech x shot, and 4 smaller 'magic' shots around it her tears tate stays the same.

Next up, the Tarnished, Tarnished is a melee character, similar to spirit sword, the forgotten, or any other melee character, but they do have swappable modes, they can shoot arrows or use their sword, they also start with an item like trinity shield, wooden shield, which will break for the current room after blocking 5 shots, but, the tarnished can only have red hearts, and bone hearts, so he picks up soul hearts as runes, he can increase the damage of the swing, the range of the swing, the amount of shots the shield can take and general stat boosts.

You should be able to sprint-evade her first two sets of slash attacks, you'll just have to time your dodge for the third and last one.
She never killed me once with her slash tornado since I discovered this technique.
