@crimson drift Responding here since it's getting super off-topic and I don't want to disrupt conversations.

I prefer playing Skyrim over Morrowind, for example, as it's a simple game you can pick up and kill time on without using any brainpower, but Morrowind is the better game by almost every single metric. It has better player freedom, the quests are much more interesting and better-written, there's more meaningful spells and potions, the guilds are laid out in a much more believable fashion, et cetera. The list goes on. It doesn't change my preferences, and I still prefer Skyrim even if it's not as good.

I'm not saying you are forced to be as cynical, grumpy, and critical of games as I am, but what I am saying is that people not critiquing their experiences is part of the reason why we have so many subpar experiences nowadays through AAA studios, and why the indie market is pretty much the Atlas of the industry.

I both agree and disagree with the response to BF2042, if I'm honest. Don't get me wrong, it's not at all the experience any of us wanted, but the game itself still deserves a 5 or 6 at the very least, which is pretty much par for the course for the last 4 titles. They took a detour for the franchise that is really not working out for the better, and it's only getting worse as time goes on and they continue on the same path. All they had to do was essentially make an upgraded BF4 (not an exact copy, of course, but "remodernized", as it were) and everything would have been fine, but of course they decided to go the trendy route and made a hero shooter instead out of a canned shell of a BR game.

The reaction to the game was completely overblown, but at the same time, I have a hard time saying that EA didn't deserve it for what they've been doing this last decade.

This assembly line of video games needs to stop, but unfortunately, all these CEOs smelled the money and now look where we're at.

RE: battlefield: the game doesn't seem to function properly for many players, i'm not sure you can give it a 5 or 6. further, BF1 was an incredibly well made game with few flaws, definitely not a 5 or 6, so i disagree there. i agree with your point about detouring towards a 'hero shooter' type game, similar to call of duty, and how that hurts the game quite a bit. i never disagreed about an 'assembly line of video games' so you're more or less talking to yourself on that one

If you're talking about how much more effective the control method is, it really depends on the type of game, honestly. For RTS, FPS, and 4X games, yeah, KBM is the way to go.

fps locking does improve ur gameplay experience.. i always lock AAA titles on 40 fps if they tend to drop from 60 to 50 or 45, that way i get a more stable framerate experience... also i have a 1060 6gb and ryzen 3500... @zinc parcel u r not alone bro.... the game should run just fine... just keep everything on medium except for texture on high...

Is 40 fps locked as smooth as 30 fps on console? (I know on console they do a lot of things to make it better, for example, marvel 's spider man run really smooth on ps4)

idk about console.. but when on pc 30 and 40 fps actually have a lot diff.. when u play on 30 fps and then play on 40fps.. u will see significant smoothness tbh... i recommend locking the fps on 45 or 40...

its the best...

also i have the habit of using the msi afterburner first on every new game i play to check the cpu gpu temp while playing for the game to see how does it perform

Where it starts to become way less noticeable when it goes past 60

@zinc parcel I think you're ok with PS4 30 fps since you're used to it.
My eyes always hurt for a while whenever I switch from PC to PS4 30 fps and then I get used to it.

@zinc parcel With Mouse, yeah. Mouse control gets rough at 30 fps on PC, but a controller helps smooth the control. That's what I remember briefly.
