Here in Germany we get our gifts on the 24th. We call it Heiliger Abend (holy evening). Usually Santa (either called Weihnachstsmann (Christmas man) or Christkind (Christ child)) brings the gifts in the afternoon or evening. Kids often learn a poem or song to perform to perform for Santa.

for anyone who's played Nioh, do you like it? I've seen some people say that it's the best souls-like, but personally I think it's one of the worst. The dodge is delayed, it relies too heavily on equipment, and for how fast some enemies attack there is no way to avoid them.

Its not a Souls-like, its an Action Game in the same vein as Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry with RPG Mechanics.

The dodge isn't delayed, at 30% you can side-step dodge continuously, below 69.9% and you can side-step once before rolling with the next dodge when done consecutively.

Boss pumps big damage, you pump even bigger damage, its the way it is.

You're playing a LitRPG without understanding its a LitRPG.

Its like playing Dark Souls without knowing you can access the menu.

This isn't Dark Souls.

Its Ninja Gaiden with RPG Mechanics.

Also yeah, I liked Nioh 1 and 2 enough to put 1000 hours in the series.

Nioh 2 is by far a better game; with improved balance and enhanced combat.

Nioh 1 is the most absurd in terms of how overpowered you can become.

Relying on Equipment is like, how combat is meant to be enhanced.

You can't one shot a NH+6 boss with 5 Rocks without the status effects and bonuses you receive from gear.

Its how you survive later NG+ that can be switched arround whenever by the way.

NG+ doesn't make you stuck in NG+ like Dark Souls, you can go back to NG, NG+1, 2, 3, 4, etc. Whenever you want.

You also add moves and combos to your weapons the more you use them.

Adding skills to your existing moveset, improving them and making general combat smoother.

And @hollow mesa should go back to it one of these years.

During his Firecracker Attack, you can just dodge forward to his right or something to avoid it.

Next, only use thrust attacks when he's in the middle of an animation and not after when he's idle.

Mikiri Counter works wonders at a distance.

He will also bait you so be careful while going around to his back during his combos

And sometimes getting Posture Broken is useful for resetting your posture meter.

I just forget which attacks were the best with their timings for this.

dsr on the switch is basically ds1 with some optimization, unfortunately, but that doesn't mean it's bad. it's just not as 'remastered' as the other versions.
